Luo Yunxi left a deep impression through one hit drama after another, creating vivid characters who are out of the circle. He is now the representative of the “beautiful man in ancient costume” and “walking man in Hanfu” who is discussed on both domestic and foreign platforms.
Tumblr media
When acting, Luo Yunxi is good at handling complex character interpretations, and has the ability to bring fragmented and labeled “character/s that only exists in paper” to life. All of these require a keen sense of art and an insight into human nature.
Tumblr media
With the broadcast of dramas such as “My Sunshine”, Ashes of Love, Love is Sweet, Light Chaser Rescue, actor Luo Yunxi as broken into the eyes and hearts of many viewers. His progress is very steady. In the 2023 costume drama Till The End of the Moon, he plays the three roles alone, allowing the audience to see a different acting style from the past. It’s a very enjoyable drama for him to film. “Every day I feel that my potential is being developed.” While exploring the possibilities of his role, he is also exploring his own possibilities as an actor.
Tumblr media
In autumn, the ginkgo trees turn from green to yellow, the falling leaves cover the ground, like brocade and embroidery. Luo Yunxi as dressed in gorgeous Hanfu, pacing while playing the guqin and holding an umbrella. He is like jade, which makes the scenery even more picturesque.
Tumblr media
In Mr. Mossie (Xixi’s self produced variety show), Luo Yunxi and hanfu enthusiasts talk about etiquette, and explore the reasons behind its culture and popularity. This video clip was also selected for the 2022 UN Chinese Language Day and the Second Overseas Video Festival and was recognized by the United Nations.
When he came to Xi’an, Luo Yunxi, dressed in Hanfu, looked like someone who had stepped out of an ancient painting. This time he was not a character in the play, he was himself.
Accumulate the experiences brought by each role, slowly absorb and it becomes your own, and constantly improve yourself.
Luo Yunxi hopes that every attempt will bring new progress, gain additional experience from the role and life, and enrich himself more.
Some of my fave excerpts from National Geographic Traveler for Xixi 💜

almost-autumnal weather has me in some kind of mood, so i'm looking for some harem cdrama recs, or at least ones that adjacent to that in a social intrigue/courtyard drama way
i know @tavina-writes Tried to help me with this previously (unsuccessfully :'')) seeing as i had seen like. most of them ; w ; but im just listing out most of the ones i Have seen so maybe someone has some other suggestions?? (*whispers* if @dangermousie has some recs i would love them)
harem/courtyard/social intrigue-related cdramas i have seen legend of zhen huan/empresses in the palace story of yanxi palace story of ming lan (my beloved!!) bu bu jing xin jade palace lock heart the sword and the brocade (went over halfway, dropped) chang feng du love like the galaxy unchained love the eternal love (watched s1 and s2 dropped later) the rebel princess aka monarch industry (watched like 60% of this, dropped)
bonus mention of not harem dramas, but extra dramas i've liked a lot twisted fate of love a dream of splendor new life begins (enjoyed this a reasonable amount) joy of life im not fond of super-tragic endings and prefer happier endings overall, so i've been avoiding legend of ruyi. also prefer competent heroines with all things considered so.....any help with any recommendations??

Lines from "In The Other Universe" that I CANT GET OVER
in which a fanfic writer (me) overexplains her oneshot bc I NEED TO RAMBLE AND MY IRLS FOLLOW ME ON EVERY OTHER PLATFORM SO TUMBLR IS ALL! I! HAVE!
(u should prob read it first this wont make sense otherwise)
"Even though it was not his name, Yin Yu turned"
i dont know if this is a canon scene or not (sue me the books are LONG and hard to buy in my country) but i've read about yin yu getting mistaken for yizhen and getting totally upset. so i decided to start this fic with him being so okay with it that he responds to qi ying's name as if it's his own.
(also because if ur so close to someone, ur nosy abt their business because it also becomes your business) I WANTED TO CONVEY THAT CLOSENESS FROM THE VERY FIRST LINE
"Should I tell Yizhen you can't even recognize me?"
CANON YIN YU IS SO GLOOMY AND HONESTLY WE UNDERESTIMATE HIS POTENTIAL TO BE TEASY. i just know he could be. all hard workers have a sarcastic inner voice
"The man damn near shits his pants"
AHAHHA okay look. i have this tendency when writing to be REALLY PRETENTIOUS AND FANCY. and ive learnt that usually NO ONE GIVES TWO SHITS. compared to genshin, tgcf fanfics are so beautifully written and sometimes i gotta remind this fandom to SPEAK INFORMALLY (unless its qi rong. then. yea. BUT WHO READS QI RONG FICS?)
"The blank wrist that has never known the kiss of cold metal"
I RIPPED MY OWN HEART OUT WITH THIS ONE
"In this universe, he discovers it's such a simple thing to be happy."
proof that quanyin is literally hualian's cousin
the entire earring scene
i am a sucker for qyz's over-attachment to the earrings. ik a lot of ppl think he's like this because its the only thing yin yu ever gave him but NO headcanon that even in the other universe, yizhen would be overly attached because hes a puppy
he xuan scene
canonically, he xuan would NEVER. bc 1) he's too lost in his own ways to ask for advice and 2) it would fuck with his earth master disguise too much. but since it's the other universe!!!! I CAN DO WHAT I WANT.
“Yizhen’s victory is my victory,” he declares, with a tone that leaves no room for argument. “His loss is my loss. When Yizhen cries, I am sad. When Yizhen smiles at me, my heart is so full it could burst.” He brings two jade white palms together, interlocking the fingers like entangled limbs on a hot summer morning. “We’re like this. One shared past; one shared future. As a Shixiong, don’t you think rather than being jealous, I’m extremely proud of how far he’s come?”
my favourite freaking line can you tell? IT SHOWS THEIR ABILITY TO ROOT FOR ONE ANOTHER. SHOWS EMPATHY. SHOWS LOVE. ("my heart is so full it could burst") THE RECALL TO THE MORNING THEY WOKE UP TOGETHER, REMINDING YOU OF DOMESTICITY AND SIMPLICITY AND TRUST AND CLOSENESS.
ONE SHARED PAST; ONE SHARED FUTURE ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? this is all i ever wanted for them. to be able to grow together and live together and die together. TO HAVE A SHARED PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
this line is also loaded to me bc i once wrote a fic called "entangled pasts; estranged future" that wasnt good enough to be posted but GOD IT REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF IT
"Here, he never needs to know the weight of a mask – neither physical not metaphorical."
i dont like how i worded this but IT NEEDED TO BE SAID. YIN YU NEVER NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO WEAR THE WANING MOON MASK but more importantly NEVER NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO WEAR A MASK TOWARDS QUAN YIZHEN. NEVER NEEDS TO HIDE RESENTMENT. im shaking with all they couldve been and didnt become.
"Here, Brocade and Immortal are just two words"
hear that? its the sound of me BANGING MY HEAD AGAINST THE WALL AAAAAA I SO DESPERATELY WANT THIS TO BE REAL i mean i understand if they werent so tragic i wouldnt love them as much but IT HURTS! (*100 teehee)
"Sure it will."
i actually hate myself why did i end it like that even in my fanfic i cant let them be happy. huh. i have to subtly hint that this isnt what happens.
its actually so upsetting that the whole fic is so nice and healing and all of it is just overcasted by this knowledge of "its not real. they never get to be this happy. what really happens is they resent each other and leave each other and they become one shared past; two estranged futures."
you can call me insane. im aware no one thinks this deeply about fanfiction and most people are on the site for smut. BUT I THOUGHT LONG AND HARD ABOUT IT SO YOURE FORCED TO LISTEN TO ME RAMBLE

When will we ever get something like yanxi palace and story of ming lan, the fact that they were allowed to take revenge on the people who caused the death of the women they loved most, there was no "revenge is bad" or "we're better than this" no. Ming lan schemed and planned so meticulously and ying luo when she found out Erqing played a role in the empress death she brought her in front of her portrait and strangled her to death without fear or hesitation. Dramas nowadays would get cut and censored to hell if they did anything close to that. I want my complicated badass smart women back, I'm so tired of shows trying to convince me very hard the leads are smart by having people say it again and again when the actual writing doesn't show it...
I feel your pain on this "the leads are very smart because people keep saying they're smart" nonny. I, too, sometimes question why it is that that happens, but I'm not entirely certain its only censorship at play!
I've been rotating this for a while now since I still haven't found anything that strikes me as hard as Yanxi/Minglan/Ruyi in the years since then, especially since I love political dramas with cool female leads and I'm always on the hunt for new ones. I think the Yanxi-Minglan years were a real treat for us tbh. I don't know that things are necessarily more watered down now solely because of censorship exactly, because we've always had to work around censorship. Yanxi famously cut Yingning's storyline as well as Chenbi's Korean costuming just to get by the censors, which is also why the back half of Yanxi lost like, 10? or so episodes? and we lost some supposedly STUNNING scenes in there because of those cuts to get past censors. (There are photographs that I drool over about the cut plotlines every now and again while shaking my fist at the sky.) Minglan was originally 80 episodes long instead of seventy-three. I'm not entirely certain what they cut from there, but there is a rumored director's edition with 80 episodes that I haven't been able to get my hands on that's apparently also very good so it's not like Minglan escaped the censorship cuts either.
However, like, I think stories like Yanxi and Minglan are so rare because it is very difficult to get the whole package together -- the actors, the costuming, the sets, the screenwriters, the directors, the ost, the editing, the air dates, the audience interest, the companies investing money and budget into a production, and yes, the production clearing the censorship hurdle. In my ~15 years or so of watching cdrama, I'd say that the Yanxi-Minglan years were still some of my all time highs when it comes to cdramas that really grabbed me and it's because for these productions so much of this came together. It's always vastly easier for a writer to say "this character is very smart! this character is very smart and other people know it!" rather than showing that the character is smart or setting up a plotline where the character is smart and getting the payoff back from that. We see this all the time in every sort of media. Most of it comes down to bad writing and the writers being so afraid of like, actually going for the throat rather than censorship (though of course the censorship doesn't help a writer lose their fear of going for the audience's throat on a plotline or a character moment).
So I think a lot of more recent cdramas that fall into that pit are in there more for bad writing than censorship tbh, and bad writing unfortunately has always existed, and shows that claimed their characters were super smart while also making my eyes bleed also existed prior to and during the Minglan-Yanxi years as well as after. (Looking at you Brocade Heart Like Jade, I still haven't forgiven you for baiting me.)
For the record I've been watching The Side Story of the Fox Volant which came out last year in 2022 recently with @autumnslantern and some of those scenes are dark. We're about 5-6 episodes in right now and it's been really fun and well constructed. This show definitely is not at all holding back with showing bloody deaths, societal troubles, or the implications of the jianghu being a dangerous and often miserable place. So I think that cdramas with smart people and extremely vicious moments do still exist! Or at least they did up to last year.
TLDR: I think it's a combination of "the censorship is obviously not helping" and "stories that good are rare for reasons other than censorship because it's so much harder to tell a good story."
I do feel you though nonny, when will a show like Minglan or Yanxi and a main character like Sheng Minglan or Wei Yingluo EVER COME BACK from the WAR. I WANT.

You Have My Attention: Celestial Kingdoms First Lines
Tumblr media
Ok, I am in general a fan of mythological retellings, and this duology and its accompanying short story collection are lush, engaging, and heartbreaking all at once. So of course I had to share the first lines. DotMG and HotSW are pretty bog standard, but because there were only nine short stories in TotCK, I decided to give you the first lines of all nine as well because this is my blog and I make and break the rules at will! So let's see how Sue Lynn Tan catches her readers.
There are many legends about my mother. Some say she betrayed her husband, a great mortal warrior, stealing his Elixir of Immortality to become a goddess. Others depict her as an innocent victim who swallowed the elixir while trying to save it from thieves. Whichever story you believe, my mother, Chang'e, became immortal. As did I.
-- Sue Lynn Tam, Daughter of the Moon Goddess
Night cloaked the sky in darkness, draping shadows across the earth. While this was a time of rest for the mortals, on the moon, our toils were just beginning. Winter white flames curled from the splint of wood in my hand. Crouching down, I brushed away a stray leaf from the lantern, wrought of translucent stone and twisted strands of silver. As I lowered the splint to the wick, it caught fire with a hiss.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, Heart of the Sun Warrior
Light filtered through the gauze screens that covered the windows, the wooden frames latticed in a pattern of squares. I blinked, trying to adjust to the dazzling brightness, my mind still sluggish. Slumber had been hard won--I'd slept with the curtains pulled back from the posts, though it did little good.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "Rise of the Sunbirds," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
The skies were afire. Gone was the calm blue of day, the pale wisps of clouds drifting across the heavens. No longer did the moon and stars light the night. Our world was dying.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "The Ten Suns," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
Chrysanthemums were flowering in the courtyard, their slender petals curved in rich purples, yellows, and reds. Above, the trees were losing their coats of green, donning jeweled shades of amber and garnet. A coolness infused the air, refreshing my senses.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "Goddess of the Moon," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
Night had faded. The dawn streaked with Ash and rose. The lanterns were still lit as I strode toward Xingyin's chamber.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "The Snow Ginseng Root," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
The lake was encircled by ancient pine trees. They reminded me of my home in the cloud wall--my courtyard, always fragrant with their woody scent. Except here, the rust-colored bark was veined in gray like a web of shadows had been strewn across it. Their feathery needles glinted as though tipped in Iron, clinking ominously as the wind blew.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "Battle with the Bone Devil," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
General Mengqi and I flew in silence upon our cloud, the other soldiers following behind us. They were the "demons" I had feared and dreaded from the tales, but they did not seem markedly different from other immortals. Just more arrogant and unpleasant, I decided, my irritation at the general's earlier condescension unappeased.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "Return to the Jade Palace," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
The moon was a bright curve, ringed by stars. Will there ever come a time that I look upon them and not think of her? I longed for and dreaded the day.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "A Rival's Spirit," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
The light of the evening sun slanted through the window, casting the room in gold. Sunset was approaching, the moment I had been anticipating since yesterday. My attendant tentatively offered me a black brocade sash, unused to my indecision.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "Sun Moon Teahouse," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom
Snow lay heavy upon the branches of the plum blossom tree. Clumps of ice clustered around the pink petals, a glittering frame to their beauty--all the more striking because of the barrenness surrounding it, the land stripped of its verdant glory.
-- Sue Lynn Tan, "Home," Tales of the Celestial Kingdom

Chapter 94
The children of the Eastern Palace also had birthday gifts to give.
The First and Second County Princesses and the Third County Princess all gave embroidery, as they were old enough to do so, and although their work was not as good as that of the Needle and Thread Bureau, as they had said before, it was the thought that counted. The Fourth Mistress Wan Pui-yin gave her a Buddhist scripture, which she said she had copied by hand, and although her handwriting was not good, it was the thought that counted.
Zong Duo gave her a jade pendant, of fine sheep's-fat white jade carved with a longevity bat, which was unremarkable, but Empress Fu seemed to like it, holding it up and looking at it, and smiling and praising Zong Duo a few times.
Zong Yue, on the other hand, gave a jade ornament, of an ordinary kind, neither too eye-catching nor too over-the-top, quite in keeping with his age and status.
As for Wan Yin Long, originally Pan Er gave her the idea to send her shoes and purses, she didn't need to make them herself anyway, the palace maids made them and she sewed on a few stitches, Empress Fu also knew Wan Yin's character and would not be offended.
However, she did not agree, and went back to the cabinet to find some bead strings that she had shattered when she was a little girl and brought them to her to play with.
Among them were pearls, tourmaline, cat's eye stones, turquoise, tortoiseshell stones and a bunch of other messy little stones, and she primped and picked out some suitable ones and strung them together to make a string of beads that could be worn on her wrist.
When it was done, Pan'er took a look at it, Wan Yin's seemingly big-hearted, but actually quite good at matching colours, this colour scheme at first glance is suitable for Empress Fu usually wear, no true reds and no purple as it was too fancy. Afterwards, Wan Yin found a box for the gift, and a birthday gift was made.
Empress Fu really liked it after she got it, and heard that it was made by Wan Yin's own hands, and even said she was thoughtful. This was the only one of the girls that Empress Fu had praised, and of the boys, it was Zong Duo who got the praise.
Unfortunately, his sister's thunder was soon stolen by Zong Lin, who had also prepared a birthday gift for Empress Fu.
This gift was unknown to anyone but the eunuchs and palace maids around Zong Lin, who, probably seeing how secretive Wan Yin was, also followed suit. Pan'er thought he was a small boy, so he couldn't give anything away anyway, maybe just some of his little wooden swords and horses, so she didn't mind him.
It was also a brocade box, but it was much bigger than Wan Yin's.
Empress Fu was surprised to see that he was also giving her a birthday gift, but Zong Lin didn't care about that, he told Empress Fu to sit down, and he also went to the bottom and stood up, kowtowed to Empress Fu respectfully, and said a toast.
Empress Fu was amazed by this and said to those around her that such a small child was doing a good job.
Pan'er was surrounded by a bunch of strange eyes, and instead of being pleased, she was a little embarrassed, mentally saying that she didn't know what the boy had given as a gift. If he had given them a small wooden horse or something that would not have made such a big splash, people would have said that mother and son were making a fool of themselves.
Soon it was time to reveal the birthday gift, and Zong Lin led Feng Hai, who was holding the gift, to Empress Fu.
He was small and short, and his strength was no match for an adult, so he let Feng Hai crouch halfway while he uncovered the lid of the box.
As soon as the lid was opened, the walls of the box automatically fell down to reveal a large bowl of blue and white flowers. The blue and white flowers on the bowl were all in the shape of the word longevity, and at the bottom of the bowl were a few pebbles with translucent water and two small fish swimming inside.
It was the same small fish that Zong Lin had caught with his own hands earlier.
"My grandson just caught a few of them and gave two to Imperial Grandmother." As he said this, he was still quite reluctant to give them away, clearly saying that he was giving them away, but his eyes kept looking at them.
Empress Fu took a questioning stance, and it was time for the mother to come out and speak.
Pan'er said, "He caught this fish himself, he treasures it like nothing else, and has been looking at it every day on his bedside for the past few days. Originally he was making a fuss about sending a birthday gift to the Empress, and I thought he was just fooling around, but I didn't expect to send this to him."
"Good, very good, a child's heart." Empress Fu laughed, and asked Zong Lin, "You are willing to give your precious treasure to your imperial grandmother?"
Zong Lin was indeed reluctant to do so, but he said, "Father taught us that we should know filial piety as descendants, and although Lin was very reluctant to do so, it was only right to give my own treasures to my imperial grandmother for her birthday, and that was all I had." And so he gave half to his imperial grandmother.
The rest of what he said, though he did not say it, was understood by Empress Fu and understood by all those below.
The First Lady of the Duke of Jin's House laughed, "The Third Duke is really filial."
" Not at all."
"My little grandson, who is about the same age as the Third Prince, knows nothing of this, worthy of being a child of His Highness the Crown Prince's family."
In a flash, the crowd of titled ladies standing below were all praising him.
Empress Fu smiled, stroked his head and said, "Well, Lin'er has filial piety, Imperial Grandmother will certainly take good care of your precious little fish."
The whole birthday celebration had been very uneventful, except for the birthday gift from the Crown Princess, which had raised a few eyebrows, but now all the limelight had been stolen by a three-year-old child. What could a child of that age know? He must have been taught by his mother. But she had taught him well, and he had won the Queen's favour, so no one could say anything.
The Prince Consort stood there smiling, showing no signs of happiness or anger, while Hu Liangdi's eyes darted back and forth between Pan'er and the Prince Consort, wondering what she was thinking.
As for the children in the Eastern Palace, although they were all forcibly calm, they were not too old and inevitably showed their envy. While Zong Yue's emotions did not show, Wan Yin was looking as if she had a share in the glory, her big eyes shining brightly, which if it weren't for the crowd, Pan Er guessed she would have to praise Zong Lin for a job well done.
But then Pan'er knew that the fish delivery must have been Zong Lin's own idea, but he couldn't have done it with such care, and the words he said.
She set her gaze on Feng Hai, her face smiling but the smile not reaching the eyes.
The women of the Eastern Palace did not take up much of the drama at the birthday banquet today.
After all, there are many concubines and even relatives from the imperial family in the West Court, and since today is the Empress's birthday, it is only logical that there should be external ladies present, so there are many other ladies who have come to celebrate the birthday today.
In the middle of the day, Pan'er said she would go to the purification room, and besides bringing Xiang Pu, she also called Feng Hai out.
Feng Hai knew what was going on and knelt down as soon as he entered the purification room.
"How old he is, and you are teaching him to fight for favour, you seem to have a big heart. Originally, I trusted you and thought that since Lin was so young, I was afraid that he would be led astray, so I placed you by his side, but look at this good thing you did!"
Feng Hai prostrated himself on the ground and spoke in a low voice, "Master, it was Little Prince himself who proposed to send the fish, the servant just helped him prepare the brocade box and bowl."
"Still trying to argue, you didn't teach him those words he said?"
"Indeed, it was my servant who taught him. The minion just thought that you had asked someone to inquire what the eldest prince would send before preparing such a birthday gift for the second prince, and even the county princess's birthday gift you did not bother with, leaving the county princess to make her own arrangements. The minions actually understand what you mean, you just don't want to compete with that side, but don't you think about the feelings of the second prince and the fifth county princess?
"If this becomes a habit, not of you but of the Second Prince, how will he be able to hold his head up in front of the Eldest Prince?"
These words were like a thunderbolt, and Xiang Pu immediately scolded, "Feng Hai, you really have the audacity to say such things in front of your master!"
Saying that, she turned to Pan'er and begged for mercy, "Master, please spare Feng Hai this time, he has followed the two princes for these years, and he has done hard work without merit, he must have been possessed, you should ask the second prince to punish him later, punish him severely."
"Are you thinking the same thing?" Pan'er suddenly asked.
After a while, she said hesitantly, "I think you are always reluctant to compete with the Crown Princess' side. The Crown Princess is very concerned about the eldest son's homework, but you rarely ask the second son about his homework."
After coming to the palace for these years, Xiang Pu has also long been not the Xiang Pu of the beginning and has learned to be much wiser.
In fact, a few years down the line, many people have changed to a greater or lesser extent, only she is still the same old step, always thinking about the world peace.
Pan'er couldn't help but think of her previous life, how Yue'er had yielded to Zong Duo in front of and behind people, yes, in a new life, why did she always have to yield, could she avoid the inevitable disputes in the future by yielding? No, because the interests are there and sooner or later the conflict will be triggered.
Feng Hai's idea was to let Lin'er take the lead, so as to raise the eyebrows of the East House, and at the same time to give Zong Yue a hint that you could not take the lead because of your circumstances and status, but your younger brother did not have such worries, he was still young after all, and taking the lead would not be too scandalous.
Indeed, he had a heart. And even the Crown Princess could not fault the words that Zong Lin said today, she feared. Even a three-year-old child could be so filial, and the East Palace must be acting upwards and downwards for such a young child to behave like that. Even if there was an element of drama, no one would be insensitive enough to poke holes in it, so the flaw would be good for the Eastern Palace and indeed the entire Central Palace lineage.
Pan'er sighed and gave Feng Hai, who was lying on the ground, a somewhat complicated look, "Don't take any more liberties in the future, report anything, I'm not the kind of master who can't listen to advice."
Feng Hai's heart was pleased, he immediately kowtowed and said, "I understand, my servant will definitely follow my master's orders."
After that Feng Hai retreated and Pan Er used the purification room, the whole time she was thoughtful, but Xiang Pu did not dare to interject any more.
   --
The palace banquet was set up from noon and continued into the evening.
Even though Empress Fu had repeatedly said that there was a disaster in the region of Shaanxi and Gansu, and that everything should be kept simple, the arrangements made by the House of Internal Affairs were still very rich.
Before the evening banquet had even begun, fireworks were set off to the north of the island.
Beneath the inky blue sky, the crowd gathered to watch the fireworks from the best viewpoint. The vast expanse of the sky and the splendour of the fireworks, which lasted for more than a quarter of an hour, were truly breathtaking. Even Pan'er, who had seen a lot of big scenes in her previous life, couldn't help but marvel at the ingenuity of the Home Office.
After watching the fireworks, it was time to move on to the banquet, which was set up in the water pavilions of the curved corridor, divided into several places. There was a brightly lit area some distance away, dotted with candlelight, and if you looked at it from afar, the inky night sky, the quiet water and the long strings of luminous pearls strung on it, it was as beautiful as a painting.
As the male and female guests were not in the same place, Wan Yin was with Pan'er at the dinner.
The atmosphere was naturally much more relaxed as it was not in the palace, and from time to time a lady came forward to toast and speak with the Crown Princess, who was the most important person in the palace, as the banquet for the concubines was not here.
The Crown Princess was placed next to Pan'er, and Wan Yin was already talking to Shu Yi across the table, and Pan'er also had some small talk with the Crown Princess.
But she didn't ask Princess Yue how she was after that time, and she didn't mention it either, as if that day had never happened, but Pan'er did see that Princess Yue was looking better.
Perhaps it was because the scenery in the Western Garden was really pleasant, and when people were in a good mood, they naturally looked better.
Fu Qiu suddenly came up behind Pan'er and whispered, " Greetings Liangdi, the Crown Prince has ordered someone to say that the third son has been naughty and has fought with the fifth son of Qi Wang's residence again, so you should go and bring the third son back."
Pan'er was stunned to hear this, and had a bit of a headache, why was this boy hitting again? And some thin annoyance, thinking blame the Prince you did not say Zong Lin so do it right, now you know the headache.
She didn't think much about it, and told Wan Yin that she should stay by herself for a while, and also asked Yue Wang Fei to help look after her daughter, and left Bai Jue behind, and went away with Fu Qiu.
When they went outside the water pavilion, it wasn't Fu Lu, it was a eunuch who looked somewhat familiar.
Although Pan'er couldn't name him, she knew he was a waiter at the Yu Qing Palace, so she didn't think much of it and took Xiang Pu with her to go with him.
It was dark, but the corridors were decorated with palace lamps, so it was not dim.
The curved corridor is entirely in the style of the gardens of the south of the Yangtze River, built against the rocks, which are dotted with all kinds of strange stones and rocky hills, sometimes ascending and sometimes descending.
The eunuch leading the way seemed to notice that her pace was slowing down and turned to say, " Mistress Su, it's just a little further to go."
Pan'er continued to follow, and after walking for a while, a sudden gust of wind blew, and as she was distracted, the eunuch in front of her back flashed, and the person disappeared.
She was startled and stopped instantly.
She was about to turn around when a man turned out from behind the rockery at the side, none other than Prince Chu, dressed in blue brocade robes.

A Clash of Crowns
The ancient crown of the Kings of Winter had been lost three centuries ago, yielded up to Aegon the Conqueror when Torrhen Stark knelt in submission. What Aegon had done with it no man could say. Lord Hoster’s smith had done his work well, and Robb’s crown looked much as the other was said to have looked in the tales told of the Stark kings of old; an open circlet of hammered bronze incised with the runes of the First Men, surmounted by nine black iron spikes wrought in the shape of longswords. Of gold and silver and gemstones, it had none; bronze and iron were the metals of winter, dark and strong to fight against the cold.

Small wonder the lords gather around him with such fervor, she thought, he is Robert come again. Renly was handsome as Robert had been handsome; long of limb and broad of shoulder, with the same coal-black hair, fine and straight, the same deep blue eyes, the same easy smile. The slender circlet around his brows seemed to suit him well. It was soft gold, a ring of roses exquisitely wrought; at the front lifted a stag’s head of dark green jade, adorned with golden eyes and golden antlers.

As he neared, she saw that Stannis wore a crown of red gold with points fashioned in the shape of flames. His belt was studded with garnets and yellow topaz, and a great square-cut ruby was set in the hilt of the sword he wore. Otherwise his dress was plain: studded leather jerkin over quilted doublet, worn boots, breeches of brown roughspun. The device on his sun-yellow banner showed a red heart surrounded by a blaze of orange fire. The crowned stag was there, yes . . . shrunken and enclosed within the heart.

Trader captains brought lace from Myr, chests of saffron from Yi Ti, amber and dragonglass out of Asshai. Merchants offered bags of coin, silversmiths rings and chains. Pipers piped for her, tumblers tumbled, and jugglers juggled, while dyers draped her in colors she had never known existed. A pair of Jogos Nhai presented her with one of their striped zorses, black and white and fierce. A widow brought the dried corpse of her husband, covered with a crust of silvered leaves; such remnants were believed to have great power, especially if the deceased had been a sorcerer, as this one had. And the Tourmaline Brotherhood pressed on her a crown wrought in the shape of a three-headed dragon; the coils were yellow gold, the wings silver, the heads carved from jade, ivory, and onyx.

[H]e donned his crown, a band of cold iron slim as a finger, set with heavy chunks of black diamond and nuggets of gold. It was misshapen and ugly, but there was no help for that. Mikken lay buried in the lichyard, and the new smith was capable of little more than nails and horseshoes. Theon consoled himself with the reminder that it was only a prince’s crown. He would have something much finer when he was crowned king.

The denizens of Joffrey’s court had striven to outdo each other today. Jalabhar Xho was all in feathers, a plumage so fantastic and extravagant that he seemed like to take flight. The High Septon’s crystal crown fired rainbows through the air every time he moved his head. At the council table, Queen Cersei shimmered in a cloth-of-gold gown slashed in burgundy velvet, while beside her Varys fussed and simpered in a lilac brocade. Moon Boy and Ser Dontos wore new suits of motley, clean as a spring morning. Even Lady Tanda and her daughters looked pretty in matching gowns of turquoise silk and vair, and Lord Gyles was coughing into a square of scarlet silk trimmed with golden lace. King Joffrey sat above them all, amongst the blades and barbs of the Iron Throne. He was in crimson samite, his black mantle studded with rubies, on his head his heavy golden crown.
