“It’s true. You say that I loved him, but as 16-year-old and 17-year-old Liverpool kids, you couldn’t say that – it just wasn’t done,” said McCartney. “So I never did. I never really said, ‘You know, I love you man’. I never really got round to it. So now, it is great to just realise how much I love this man.”
Who else has been listening to The Last Dinner Party since their first song came out and is now very excited for their first album to come out in February?
Been thinking about Life on Mars. Not in any deep or meaningful way but like. Imagine being sent back to 1973. They didn’t even have Madness. They didn’t have Madness back then. Can you imagine being English without Madness.

The whole album is pretty good, plenty of good songs. Xenomorph being my favorite, there's also Disbelievers and The Altar that are really good. 8/12 songs added to my main playlist. Funny that I'd never heard about them before, even during my gothic metal phase in 2022. This album was definitely goth rock though. Gonna be listening to their "Angels of Mourning Silence" next, which is supposedly more metal we'll see.
Sadly, as far as I could find out through Google, they haven't released new music since their "Killing for Culture" EP from the year 2000. But they do have a Facebook page, their latest post being in 2022, stating "you never know you all may get a new song or 2 seeing as 2022 will the 30th anniversary of the birth of 13 candles." Will we ever get those new songs? Who knows…
Re-blog bands I should have included. Re-blog if you’re a Brit!
OP note: There are so many iconic British bands! I picked the ones I felt were both iconic and served as a major influence on sound, genre, and style. If I had more space, I would have included Black Sabbath, The Cure, Genesis, The Police, The Sex Pistols, Mumford & Sons, Joy Division, T-Rex, and the semi-British (and personal favorite) Fleetwood Mac.
