Can we talk about the fact that in 4x09 Nicole finally overcame not only her fear of failing again as an officer because it’s one of the only things she’s ever confidently believed herself to be good at, she also overcame her fear of being judged as an outsider in Purgatory and finally felt accepted as part of the town, and it gave her the confidence to kiss Waverly openly and out in public??
I think for a long time Nicole was so worried about fitting in as it was that she really tried to keep the PDA stuff to a minimum because Purgatory is a small town and she knew that not everyone was okay with it, but she made the sacrifice of publicly embarrassing herself once again in front of not just the entire town but in front of Waverly, the woman she loves, who’s opinion of her matters more than anybody else in the world, and all it did was make Waverly admire her bravery and selfless nature even more, and then Nicole finally kissed her out in the open with no regard for what anyone else thought about it. She didn’t just earn the title as sheriff, she gained the confidence she needed to believe that she was still the best person for the job, and the rest of the town realize that a single mistake shouldn’t define the rest of anybody’s life because they all do things they regret, and like Nedley said it’s normally when they care about something so much that they are driven to the extreme. I just love seeing Nicole regain that same type of confidence she carried when she sauntered into Shorty’s and introduced herself to Waverly but directed now into her own ability to succeed, especially after the trauma of 18 months isolated from her family and blaming their absence on her inability to save them.
In my personal opinion, this episode felt very much like old school Wynonna back in like season 2, with the right balance of plot development and humor balanced out, and I think was the best episode in 4B so far, but I’m sure the next three will only get better as they come. That said, I am terrified for 10, 11, and 12 and I may not survive after the season ends, but for now I’m going to enjoy rewatching the shit out of this one and pretending that nothing bad is going to happen 😁

Alright friends, it's about that time. I finally updated Earp Adventure Camp. I'm sorry for the wait, and I hope this chapter lives up to your expectations. You're amazing, and I'm so lucky to have found this fandom. Earpers are just built different.
