Whether or not you like Tony Stark as a character, at least concede the point that it was positively baffling and rage-inducing to end THE Infinity Saga on a downer-note. Like iron--spider said, that final film should've been as close to a universal experience as they could get, and what she meant by that was that the majority of fans should've been able to enjoy it*. You can't achieve that by appealing to niche edgelords (and, like it or not, these films are not *for* a niche audience.) Yes, that means having a stereotypical victory at the end wherein all the main characters survive--and that was the tone! for every other movie besides Infinity War! whose plot benefited from temporary pain which, btw, should've never been intended to remain permanent!--but like it or not, there was no good reason to kill Tony or Nat off, no good reason to send Cap back to the past, and a not-insignificant proportion of the audience *Was GONNA* be upset that their fave was killed either way. So, my argument remains: it just shouldn't have happened.
*I.e., not resulting in half of them wanting to burn the studio down for inducing irreparable grief and permanently tainting their experience of both past and future projects.
To address all that controversy coming out about the billboard... the people trying to bring back Cringe Culture for this realize these kids have amassed their efforts into an actual, physical message that likely cost thousands, while the counter-argument is just, what, "You're too passionate about this thing/The person in charge of the hashtag wasn't a native English speaker"?
To everyone who still loves Tony, and despite all the flack you're catching, and who dearly wishes his story had been handled better, you have an incredible amount of support, from all around the world.
It's healthy to move on to a better place emotionally, but that doesn't mean you have to change your mind about the decisions the execs made for the characters or how the story was handled.
Anyway, #BringBackTonyStarkToLife, and don't be disheartened. One way or another, we're being heard.
These T*ny St*rk stans wanna be the #ReleaseTheSnydercut movement so fucking bad it's embarassing.
Like I'm sorry their hashtag is #BringBackTonyStarkToLife, darling that's two words too many. I get that we really did something with the Snydercut billboard in Times Square and all the other awesome stuff we did to pressure Warner Bros into giving us the Justice League movie we all deserved as well as give Zack Snyder closure on a project he had to leave because of a horrific family trajedy while the studio treated him like garbage the entire time too and well it all worked because we did get Zack Snyder's Justice League and you're out here seeing our success and thinking "hey how can we steal that?" But Tony Stark was given literally everything he deserved and a bunch of stuff he didn't, he had like 5 solo films and was the main character in every team up movie Marvel ever made, his death was a fulfilling conclusion to an extremely long character arc which was milked of literally anything and everything it could have given to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Snydercut movement was about so much more than a bunch of people being sad their favorite character died. So I'm begging you people. Please stop. This is embarrassing. You are all embarrassing yourselves and you will never be as cool or as sexy as those of us in the Snydercut movement so stop trying, babes
((But being 100% honest for a second the saddest part of all of this to me is that this could actually work and the MCU could once again just be Tony Stark doing rich guy things and fucking shit up for everybody else, because RDJ literally cannot be profitable except in an MCU movie and Disney will do literally anything that will make them money and they might see this and take it as a chance to squeeze fans of even more of their money and ruin cinema even more than they already have))
Yikes that billboard ~is~ EMBARRASSING embarrassing... I know the concept of "cringe" got cancelled but I think we can bring it back, just this once. For such a special occasion.
cringe culture is cancelled (generally speaking) but there is a category for special circumstance , such as #bringbacktonystarktolife
After Endgame, Tony is secretly alive and back with his family. Of course now Valentine's Day dates can't be restaurants or walks outside, but where they are doesn't matter, as long as they're together Tony and Pepper have the most romantic Valentine's Day filled with love 💕
Today (August 15th) everyone in the MCU fandom and all tony stark lovers will be tweeting out with the hashtag: #bringbackTonyStarktolife! Please join in, it’s gonna be fun!
