Approaching an intense life with calm… I don’t know about you, but in my anecdotal experience, this takes a lot of self work to achieve this ability to calmly navigate the intensity of life… And I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have an extremely intense life who has a full-time job and young kids!… And also other aspirations on top of that. It’s not a quick fix… It is a daily practice, and when practicing in the morning, daily, you are setting yourself up for success.
Beginning the day with a practice of building the part of the brain that allows us to achieve this reality is something that I start every day with. I generally start with slow breathing in the hot shower as a warm-up to gradually get my heart rate up while calming my nervous system with slow exhalations.
At that point, I usually go into my higher intensity workout or strength training, but combine it with extreme focus on breath in order to rise to the occasion to be able to achieve calm in the face of high stress. Therefore, the high intensity training is much more than the physiological adaptations that result from traditional intense training, but also a huge psychological component of meditation, in terms of: what is my brain doingand thinking about while I’m achieving those intense intervals or I’m on the last couple of repetitions of my strength?
THIS is a question that I challenge you to ask yourself today.
Learn my breath-work method for free at Hypoxix.fitness and grab yourself an ab ribbon to have ultimate meditative core awareness in those final repetitions of your intense training, which will help reduce the risk of injury with training!

Anulom vilom
Tumblr media
I. Introduction to Anulom Vilom
Anulom Vilom, also known as alternate nostril breathing, is a powerful pranayama technique originating from ancient India. This practice is a vital component of yoga, which aims to harmonize the body, mind, and spirit. The term 'Anulom Vilom' is derived from Sanskrit, where 'Anulom' means 'with the grain' and 'Vilom' means 'against the grain'. This breathing exercise involves inhaling and exhaling through alternate nostrils, which helps to balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain. Practicing Anulom Vilom regularly offers numerous benefits. It purifies the pranic channels, enhances mental clarity, and promotes a sense of inner peace. It is also a powerful tool for stress management, making it a beneficial practice for those seeking a resilient mindset.
II. Understanding the Technique of Anulom Vilom
Anulom Vilom involves a specific breathing pattern that alternates between the nostrils. The practice begins with a deep inhalation through the left nostril, followed by a complete exhalation through the right nostril. This process is then reversed, with an inhalation through the right nostril and an exhalation through the left. This completes one round of Anulom Vilom. Here is a step-by-step guide to practicing Anulom Vilom: - Sit comfortably with your spine erect and shoulders relaxed. - Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to prepare your body and mind. - Close your right nostril with your right thumb and inhale slowly through your left nostril. - Now close your left nostril with your right ring finger and release the thumb from the right nostril. Exhale through the right nostril. - Keep the left nostril closed and inhale through the right nostril. - Close the right nostril and exhale through the left nostril. - This completes one round of Anulom Vilom. Continue this process for 5-10 minutes.
III. Health Benefits of Anulom Vilom
Regular practice of Anulom Vilom offers a plethora of health benefits. Here are a few: - Improved respiratory function: Anulom Vilom strengthens the lungs and improves respiratory function. It can be particularly beneficial for those with respiratory conditions such as asthma. - Stress reduction and relaxation: This breathing exercise helps to calm the mind and reduce stress, making it an effective tool for managing anxiety disorders. - Enhanced mental clarity and focus: By balancing the left and right hemispheres of the brain, Anulom Vilom enhances mental clarity and improves focus. - Boosted immune system: Regular practice of Anulom Vilom can strengthen the immune system and help the body fight off illnesses.
IV. Tips for Practicing Anulom Vilom Effectively
To reap the maximum benefits from Anulom Vilom, it is important to practice it correctly and consistently. Here are some tips: - Finding a comfortable posture: Ensure that you are seated comfortably before you begin. This will help you maintain focus and prevent discomfort during the practice. - Setting a regular practice routine: Consistency is key when it comes to Anulom Vilom. Try to set a regular time for your practice, such as early in the morning or before bed. - Listening to your body's limits: While it's important to push your boundaries, don't force yourself to practice for longer than is comfortable. Start with a few minutes each day and gradually increase the duration as your capacity improves. - Incorporating Anulom Vilom into your daily life: Anulom Vilom can be practiced anywhere, anytime. Incorporate it into your daily routine to promote a sense of balance and well-being throughout the day.
V. Precautions and Contraindications for Anulom Vilom
While Anulom Vilom is generally safe for most people, there are certain situations where it should be avoided or modified: - When to avoid practicing Anulom Vilom: Avoid practicing Anulom Vilom if you have a severe respiratory infection, are pregnant, or have recently undergone surgery. - Modifications for individuals with specific health conditions: If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, or any other serious health condition, consult your doctor before starting Anulom Vilom. You may need to modify the practice to suit your individual needs.

Ways To Get A Better Night's Sleep!
Set up a sleep schedule, go to bed, and use a breathing method to promote healthy sleep. The body learns to expect sleep by going to bed at the same time every night. All aspects of our lives, including how we act, feel, learn, think, and interact with others, are impacted by sleep. the effect of light, dietary habits, physical activity, and other elements on the quality of sleep.

Follow a sleep schedule
Only get eight hours of sleep each night. Adults in good health should get at least seven hours of sleep each night. Most people can only sleep for eight hours at a time and yet feel rested. Including weekends, go to bed and rise at the same hour every day. Consistency strengthens the sleep-wake cycle in your body. After settling down for around 20 minutes, if you still can't sleep, get out of bed and relax. Read a book or play some relaxing music. When you are exhausted, go back to bed. Repeat as necessary, but keep your bedtime and wake-up time the same.

Take care with your diet and drink
Don't eat too much or skip dinner. Particularly don't have a huge, heavy dinner right before bed. Because of discomfort, you can have trouble falling asleep.
Caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol should all be used responsibly. Nicotine and caffeine have energising effects that take hours to subside and can disrupt sleep. Additionally, alcohol might interfere with sleep later in the night, even if it may make you feel drowsy at first.

A Mattress Seal
Sneezes, sniffles, and itching brought on by allergies may lead to poor quality sleep. It might be your mattress. It might eventually become polluted with allergies like dust mite dander and mold. Your mattress, box springs, and pillows should be sealed to avoid them.
The best covers are plastic ones that are airtight and dust-proof.

Disconnect Your Devices
Tablets, smartphones, and computers can overstimulate your brain, making it challenging to truly unwind. Additionally, the light from these devices may interfere with your body's regular melatonin production. As much as you can, try to unplug for at least 30 minutes before going to bed. PepeHealth
