Another part of my warriors au. Brambleclaw is named brambleflower after he rejects the claw part of his name. He resigns from deputy early on. He and squilf have a good relationship and love/respect each other in my au. Unsure if squilf still becomes deputy/leader i gotta think on that more first

Thinking about my Brambleflower AU again, and you know what, that cat is most definitely an amazing woman. It was shortly after they arrived at the new territories that Brambleflower began to question who she really was. At first she feared it was just another episode of worrying about how cats perceived her like her father, but after a while she realised it had nothing to do with that. She simply felt happier when she accepted that in her heart, she felt comfortable being seen as a she-cat. Of course, her adopted sister Squilf, was the first she told and Squilf couldn’t have been more supportive of her big sister, letting her know that she didn’t care about anything else other than Brambleflower’s happiness and comfort! She promised that if any cat even looked at her wrong, she’d make sure their ears weren’t the same shape when they looked away! Slowly, with Squilf’s support, Brambleflower began to tell more and more cats until finally it reached Firestar who just smiled, pressed his nose against his adopted daughter’s forehead, and told her that no matter who she was he would always be proud of her. And despite the happy tears swelling in her eyes, Brambleflower felt the embrace of her family then and there - Firestar, Squirrelflight, Sandstorm and Leafpool, all of them accepted who she was without a second thought. And that was all that it took for Brambleflower to know that it would be okay.

I know this isn’t the most articulate, but this beautiful girl has been living rent free in my brain and I needed to share how much I love her and want her to be happy forever!

Squirrelflight and Brambleflower’s kits from left to right: Aldershade, Sparkstorm, Goldbreeze, Hawkpool, and Redcloud! In the Good Timeline AU, Brambleclaw steps down as deputy once Hollyleaf returns in OotS, instead deciding to focus on rebuilding his relationship with Squirrelflight and the three. They later have the five, who help bring a lot of positive change to the Clans. More AU ramblings below :)

The five are the main characters of the Good Timeline Arc Five, in which four out of five each go on their own journey, and work to implement both ‘apprentices must go on a journey to a non-Clan location’ and a variety of other changes throughout the arc. Their suffixes refer to each of the five Clans, representing the unity that they helped bring about. Additionally, they’ve inherited their mother’s sibling connection powers, and can all share dreams together.

Goldbreeze is the oldest and the biggest! She’s named after Goldenflower. She decides, entirely on her own, to take on the burden of leadership and living up to Firestar’s legacy so that her littermates don’t have to. She goes on a journey to the Sisters, and ends up falling in love with their next matriarch, Lavender. Design notes are that her little nose blaze is a marking my parent’s cat has that I absolutely adore.

Aldershade is very similar to canon, so not too much to say for him, but he does get to be best friends with Needle, who also becomes a medicine cat in the Good Timeline. He goes on a journey to Midnight’s Den on the ocean. Design notes are that he looks like his Dad, just much redder. 

Sparkstorm my beloved. She journeys to SkyClan, and plays a huge role in their process of joining the Clans. She’s very loyal and stubborn and gets to be more center stage than she was in AVoS. Design notes are that she looks very similar to Firestar, and that her fur tufts are supposed to look a little bit like flames. 

Hawkpool loves his littermates so much and other than that it’s mostly empty up there (affectionate). He looks just like, and is named after, Hawkfrost, who gets a redemption arc. Hawkpool journeys to the Tribe and one of Stormfur’s kits leaves to join the Clans and be with him. Design notes are just that he’s the middle child.

Redcloud is technically not Squirrelflight and Brambleflower’s kit; he was left to them by his mother before she left to join the Sisters. She wanted him to grow up with a community, but she needed something different, so she left him with Squirrelflight and her newly born litter. He looks an awful lot like Squirrelflight, and most non-ThunderClan cats aren’t aware he isn’t part of the litter. He is the youngest by about a week. He volunteers to stay behind when his siblings go on their journeys so that he can share their progress with the Clans and send help to them if they need it. Design notes are that he looks like Squirrelflight, although he has a large and wide build that’s typical of the Sisters.

If i may submit my own favourite alternative Bramble suffix for your consideration… I’ve always loved Bramblepath. It still evokes this dark / mysterious and thorny image, while also playing into having forged his own path in life (away from Tiger / Hawk and the family legacy) and being a literal Pathfinder for the Clans on their journey.

Now that’s a winner if I’ve ever heard it. This is such a good name for him.

RazorVerse: Name Changes

I want to have a place to keep all my name changes hehe. Again, this is all just a WIP and is subject to change (and I am open to recommendations!)

Going to try to go in chronological order here.

Frecklewish (TC) > Frecklefur. Reasoning: Sorry yall I know she's more popular than the SkyClan one, but SkyClan Frecklewish came first and that's muuuuch more of a SkyClan name to me than a base clan one. Frecklefur is still cute and has a nice ring to it to me.

Rainflower > Rainstar + Hailstar > Hailstep. Reasoning: Simply to reflect the new ranks. In flashbacks and references, that's what they'll be referred as.

Bluefur and Snowfur > Blueflower and Snowflower. Reasoning: Matching names with their mom!

Ravenpaw > Boo. Reasoning: He becomes a kittypet instead of a barn cat.

Brambleclaw > Brambleblaze. Reasoning: Matches Hawkfrost. Fire theme- Firestar offers it as a sort of apology. "You take after me more than you ever did him"... which Bramble would go on to challenge over the years. Also, makes it so Lionblaze is named after both his ex-adoptive father and grandfather

Tawnypelt > Tawnyclaw. Reasoning: The "honoring your father as the warrior he was, not his crimes" reasoning was moved to her, Blackstar names her. This is meant to be evidence that the clans have not moved on from Tigerstar and his ideology even if they try to show otherwise. This gives Tawny issues!

Jayfeather > Jayflight. Reasoning: Named after Squirrelflight as opposed to his father because A) Leafpool really regrets her time with Crowfeather and B) he isn't getting named by her anyways, and all of the three are named after their family in some form.

Tigerheartstar > Goldenheart/Goldenstar. Reasoning: Taking away the duplicate name, and she is now a FeatherTawny kitten so naming her after the man who tried to kill her mother as a baby is sorta in poor taste anyways. (i mean it was always in poor taste but. yknow.) She is now named after Goldenflower.

Ivypool > Ivyleaf. Reasoning: Named after her biological mother and grandmother. This gives Ivy issues!

Snowbush > Snowfall. Reasoning. I mean. It's Snowbush. (Note: Here he's named after Snowtail, who's a grown up Snowkit and his adoptive grandfather.)

Sorrelstripe > Honeystripe. Also Man Beamed. She, Honeyfur, and Fernsong got combined together (possibly Larksong as well depending on what I decide. Tragic fates for both of the siblings :( ). Reasoning: Hollytuft and Honeystripe are now Jaypoppy kits. neither Ferncloud nor Sorrelstripe die in The Last Hope, so this final child is named after Honeyfern, whose death is moved here. The kits are named for both of their deceased aunts. Name is pending.

Sparkpelt > Sparkstorm. Reasoning: Named after Sandstorm. Also I just think -pelt is about the lamest suffix ever for her and she deserves better.

Twigbranch > Twigshade. Reasoning: Sisters gotta match!

Birchkit > Whitekit. Reasoning: Dovewing's relationship with her (adoptive) parents is changed here. Birchfall was not the father to any of Whitewing's kittens because they were simply friends and he wanted to help her, but he really only played father to her bio kits, Ambermoon, Snowfall, and Dewnose. He distanced himself from Dovekit and Ivykit when Hollyleaf revealed she was their biological mother, and was embarrassed. Dovewing was instead much closer to Whitewing, who she herself was named after. (NOTE: May change this to Willowkit, after Willowshine, due to her dying in TBC.)

Characters that may get renamed but I haven't really figured them out yet.

Crowfeather. Reasoning: Feathertail lives in this AU and she and Crowfeather don't have their brief romance. So he doesn't really have a reason to request the name Crowfeather here, and it loses meaning. (Best I can think of is that he had a one sided crush and this was his way of coming onto her one last time before they went to the lake, which is..... ehhhhhh. It's unnecessary and creepy and he really doesn't need it.) Can't quite figure out a good alternative that holds a similar meaning to the original name though, besides Crowstorm which I don't really like for him.

Most of the Original Elder/First arc disability Names: You know the ones. You know why. Just trying to figure out good alternatives. Besides Sparrowtail.

The suffix -flower is woefully underused on warrior cats, honestly.

It also shouldn't even be associated with just female cats, when I see -flower my first thought is dandelions, something extremely hardy and enduring; a name about resilience. Not something fragile and gentle.

yeah :v) it bothered me a lot that tigerclawstar got two legacy names and goldenflower got zero so i decided to give bramblestar a soft side and have him name his daughter after two important she-cats in his life (or at least they’re important to him in my head lol)

warriors idea: those in positions like healer + nursery queen are given the fiercest names like -claw, -fang, -strike, etc.

-alternatively, warriors are given softer, lighter names (ex. -flower, -song, -feather, etc.)

Squirrelflight and Brambleflower. In the Good Timeline, Brambleclaw steps down as deputy after Hollyleaf returns, wanting to spend more time repairing his relationship with Squirrelflight and the three. Hollyleaf takes his place as deputy, and becomes leader. Early on in her reign, Brambleclaw asks for his name to be changed to Brambleflower, to honor his mother and to represent the changes he is making. More design notes are below

Squirrelflight is rounder and her neck fluff is intended to look like a heart, because she is full of love. She has Redcloud’s pattern in Sparkstorm’s colors, and Aldershade’s tail shape takes after hers. She and Goldbreeze share the hair swirl, although Goldbreeze’s is messier. Her ears turn in like Sparkstorm’s and Hawkpool’s do.

Brambleflower is the source of his kids’ spiky fur, as well as any white patterning they have. He and Goldbreeze have the same paws and both have a blaze marking, and she and Aldershade have his wavy tabby lines. His ears were inherited by the two of them as well. Hawkpool has a lighter shade of his fur color, as well as the same dark cheek fluff. Brambleflower and Redcloud share a tail shape, but the tail pattern matches Hawkpool’s.
