2020 Creator Wrap: Favorite works

here we go:

1) my Christ!Fitzjames portrait is definitelly the artwork i’m most proud of, almost in general? it took me days of non-stop work, because i had this vision so clear in my mind and i HAD to put it on paper. it’s a 35x50cm of a baby, now framed and hanged over my bed :’) i’m unspeakably proud of how it turned out (and let’s not forget that tobias liked it!!!! hHHHH!!!!)

2) my fitzier exchange fic (SWIPE RIGHT or: THE TINDER AU) is my second favourite, i think. it’s the longest fic i’ve ever written (almost 30k!! in english!) and althought it has a very simple plot, I’m shamelessly in love with it. [ fitzier, modern AU, 29k, 2 chapters, explicit ]

3) i’m also very very happy about how this fic i’ve been commissioned to write back in March, turned out. It’s a gradence fic (i wasn’t in The Terror fandom yet!) and i wrote it in Italian bc back then i thought i couldn’t write in english :’) the person who commissioned it was so happy with the result that she paid me WAY MORE than what i asked for T___T bless. [ gradence, 24k, soulmates and reincarnation au, explicit ]

4) this drawing of tobias menzies as hamlet is def one of my other favourites, because i’m kind of amazed at how well i did it? and also because tobias RTed it. and i just. died. i’m still recovering.

5) lastly, it feels like a lifetime ago, but it was actually back at the beginning of 2020: this make-up look i did on myself, copying Schiele’s portrait of Mime van Osen :’)

Hello - you previously received an ask regarding trans headcanons, to which you responded:

“Stories including trans characters are allowed. However, please bear in mind that the physical zine format doesn't allow for extensive content tagging, and any potentially triggering content won't be considered for the zine”

I’d ask you to please consider your wording here, as it implies there is something inherently triggering about trans folks’ existence. Perhaps you meant that transphobia would not be tolerated, and it should not be. However there are quite a few trans Terror fans who would love to be represented, and to imply that even the mention of trans folks is iffy for your zine... it’s rather upsetting.

If you didn’t know the implication of your response, that’s ok, you do now! But please consider this going forward.

Hi nonny, mod Phil here! I’m the trans guy on the team who is also behind answering the ask you've mentioned (as I've been the first point of contact for any questions/comments regarding trans prompts sent into the zine).

We don't have a mechanism by which to tease out who was going to write/draw explicit but sensitive, thoughtful work with trans characters based on a 2-sentence pitch, nor a way to discern whether a specificic scenario might be triggering to trans folks who will be reading the zine since everyone has different comfort levels and dysphoria can manifest in different ways. If the prompt was steering towards uncertain, potentially triggering category, we had to discard it - and that’s true for any prompt, regardless of whether it involved trans headcanons or not.

We want to steer on the side of caution, especially where NSFW content is concerned (which is what the "potential triggers" comment related to, I have cleared that up in the ask you’ve mentioned, apologies for not making that transparent from the start).

hi guys, I'm opening up emergency commissions to cover the cost of unexpected travel - my grandma passed away yesterday and I am flying to Poland for her funeral this weekend. I would be forever grateful if you could share this post with anyone who might be interested 🙏

I'm offering 2 slots, flat rate of £75, both for up to 2 characters, waist up, and in flat colours. I will do any Terror stuff (Fitzier, Rossier, Hickey, Goodsir, you name it) and any other polar (Endurance & Terra Nova are 💖). As Francis Crozier said, "RPF is fine". I will also do Hornblower and Master & Commander art, should anyone be inclined this way!

grandma Lodzia was in her 80s and a mother of 6, grandma of 17, and a great-grandma of 8 kids. last summer she was still being told off for going out into the field to try and dig up potatoes from grandpa's old plot of land. grandpa passed away in 1997, and she has been taking care of the small field with the help of my uncles since then. she was excited about my transition, and a stellar ally. she was the only grandparent I came out to - the others were all gone before I knew who I was. being able to attend her funeral really means a lot.
