I'm white. So if I say something wrong tell me so I can delete this or fix my behavior.

I'm the whitest person you'll see in your life, like, nasty pale look anemic levels of white. But I also have naturally very curly hair. A mix of 3b and 3a, but mainly 3b. I shaved my hair about a year ago and it's growing out, but it's just past that awkward stage where i just can't figure out a way to maintain it, nor can I decide if I should cut or let it grow. The solution, at the very least temporary? Braids. Not talking about those braids with added hair, those colorful ones, that i already know aren't for me for a bunch of reasons but mainly because it ain't my place to use them. I wanted to braid part of my hair at the root, the sideways style, like this:

The thing is, I've yet to see a single person that looks like me with this hairstyle, apart from the occasional straight haired person doing it which isn't my case. I want to know if it would be considered or not a type of cultural appropriation to do this type of hairstyle on my hair, all things considered. I don't want to do something inappropriate.

So if anyone has any opinions on this and wants to help me, I'd love to chat or read a reblog. I do want to say I'm not going to do the hairstyle until I get an answer though.

Another thing to add, though I'm not sure if it's relevant or not, is that i really don't know if I'm mixed to some extent, since I'm Brazilian and, though both of my parents are white, i don't know enough about my family on my father's side to know if he's mixed or not (grandparents died early, my father insists on saying he is "brown", though he's almost as pale as me when not getting a beach tan).

So yeah, that's the post. Hopefully I'll get some answers. Also i don't know my followers that well if someone makes racists comments, you will be blocked.
