yesterday i had a very bad episode and decided to paint

i know it’s pretty ugly, i’m not good at painting but i know that some people with bpd will understand this

what i wanted to express is the pain of splitting, the person in the middle is the “normal” me who has to put a smile on my face even though im hurt, the pain of dealing with these extreme emotions, getting confused (hence the black cloud above their heads - spiral of different thoughts/emotions) and hiding my intrusive thoughts with simple “im okay”

i just wanted to share it here bc i don’t think that anyone irl would understand this

HAT IS A MESS.

The HAT’S A MESS caps are a representation of what my head feels like at times. Dealing with the extreme darkness that comes with BPD sometimes can be so chaotic and numbing at the same time. It’s like living in constant contradiction; a constant battle I’m having with myself. I tried capturing these feelings in my caps.

5.29.23 when i was 10 i tried to kill myself but something protected me

i was born bloody

and will probably die the same

figuratively perhaps; my pain

but my hurt and wounds are real

even if you dont see the gash

my liver probably is marked with

the rivers of pain i have swallowed

it runs till its dry and then i am hollow

and its a dull empty and a dark so deep

that when i am in that hole

no light shines

life as a black sheep

branded wrong from my beginning

i was not what you wanted and i never will be

and there doesn’t seem to be anyone who will love me

Because theres no relationship to be seen

i am alone on this night

and i would be in a room full of people

i am trapped in my mind and my scarred body

and all i can do is grieve

because even if the blood is drying

the cuts are never ending

sometimes i hurt for reasons i cant even comprehend

theres always something to cry about

and here i stay

i want the body to take its last breath

and i have tried to choke it but

my body acted for me,

so here i lay

its a constant battle-

my mind, my body, and the powers that be

we are in war

and theres no white flag to be seen
