if larries know their fic and art isn't real, why do they shun larry fic writers who stop writing larry and write other pairings? why is there a strict separation of larries who only write bottomLouis fic and bottomHarry (both sides think they're right about larry's irl sex life) they'd be able to enjoy other pairings and dynamics if it was just fic, but they don't. many tiktok larries think louis was brought in for MP sex scenes and think MP is the true story of Harry's life as a closeted man.
believe me when i tell you that this isn't the behavior solely of larries, but any group of fans who write one specific pairing. the top/bottom discourse happens all the time, unfortunately, in RPF and media fandoms. what larries do is latch it onto their beliefs about what reality is, but not all of them do that.
i don't enjoy fic about every pairing, no matter the medium. when i read 1d fanfic, there were pairings i definitely wouldn't read. do you think that the reason there are so many larry fics is because of larries??? look, if any other pairing had been the most written, THAT would have gotten the conspiracy theory attached to it.
"many tiktok larries" listen, my job is teaching teenagers. we converse about all sorts of things. this last group that just graduated had taken my classes at least 2 years, some of them 3! they know what a conspiracy theory is and why they are harmful. AND YET i still caught one mentioning about how "this one just hits different" and "these stones in georgia" and i had to drop everything i was doing (planning the scope and sequence for one of my preps next year) to gently remind him of how what he was doing was expressly forbidden in the classroom ("pink sign!" shouted his friend, referencing the sharpie-on-pink-cardstock "we don't engage in conspiracy theorism in this classroom" that is stuck to my whiteboard with a magnet), and where the georgia guidestones came from and while they're weird, they don't indicate a desire on the part of "elites" to kill most of the world. anyway, all of that to say that what "many tiktok larries" say (and with no links from you, why should i believe ANY are saying this?) means very little to me, here on tumblr, looking at what larries on tumblr say.

Louis was just passing the autumn collection, when an unfamiliar but addicting scent tickled his nose. Cinnamon. He turned as he realised something.
He felt calm. Relaxed.
The permanent agitation that he carried was melting away the more he breathed in the scent, as faint as it was. Consumed by the crazed desire to seek out the specific candle, Louis began picking up candles and sniffing them madly, when a deep voice piped up, startling him.
“Uh, sir, we don’t allow candle fetishists in here.”
Louis froze mid sniff in mortification. Willing himself to not blush, he turned, a retort at the tip of his tongue. Except, it died in his throat as he took in the man before him.
“I uh,” Louis blurted out accidentally, temporarily rendered speechless by the frankly unfairly beautiful man before him. Only at the man’s grin widening did he regain his wits.
“You’re gonna kink shame me?”
Or, Louis is drawn into a quaint candle shop in his desire to find ways to soothe himself while struggling with touch depri. It takes him two more run-ins and with the lovely alpha sales assistant, and a drop, to figure out the source of the scent that imprints upon him and calms his omega. Idiots to lovers

A young boy about Harry’s age was zoomed into the camera, blushing a bright red and breathing heavily and as he bowed. The crowd was cheering for him loudly and every movement he made was bashful and flustered. He had on a very nice skate dress that was purple. His name, hometown, skate scores, and all sorts of information was in a banner on the bottom half of the screen. He was really young, especially compared to all the other competitors, which was the second thing he noticed.
The first was that the boy was easily the prettiest in the entire world, the prettiest boy Harry’s ever seen. He felt his asthma squeeze his throat and his heart beat faster and his hands get a little more clammy.
