Beauty in Sadness: A Broken Heart amidst the Shadows of Denial
Lord Alfred Douglas, also known as Bosie, was a British poet and writer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born as the son of the Marquess of Queensberry, he became known for his relationship with the famous writer Oscar Wilde. Their passionate affair began in the 1890s and later became public.
The relationship between Lord Alfred Douglas and Oscar Wilde inspired Wilde to create some of his most renowned works. However, the scandal resulting from their connection led to Wilde's arrest, trial, and conviction for 'gross indecency.' These events left Lord Alfred Douglas with deep sorrow and remorse for the pain their relationship had caused.
After Wilde's sentencing to hard labor and his time in prison, Lord Alfred Douglas mourned him. He deeply regretted the consequences of their affair and felt guilt for the suffering Wilde had endured. The story of Lord Alfred Douglas is marked by love, scandal, and the broken heart that resulted from the suppression of their relationship.
The story of Lord Alfred Douglas reminds us that the suppression of homosexual relationships causes significant pain. The criminalization of homosexuality is unjust and forces innocent individuals to hide their love. As a society, we should support the diversity and individuality of every person, striving to create a world where love can flourish freely, without fear of discrimination or persecution. Let us fight for true justice and freedom for all.

The Cod
There's something very strange and odd, About the habits of the Cod.
For when you're swimming in the sea, He sometimes bites you on the knee.
And though his bites are not past healing, It is a most unpleasant feeling.
And when you're diving down below, He often nips you on the toe.
And though he doesn't hurt you much, He has a disagreeable touch.
There's one thing to be said for him, - It is treat to see him swim.
But though he swims in graceful curves, He rather gets upon your nerves.
∼ Lord Alfred Douglas (1870 - 1945)

I also have a new perspective on Dorian Gray after I saw both the movie Dorian Gray and Wilde. What if Henry is the devil, or he represents the devil? Since he is corrupting Dorian constantly, and he made Dorian aware of his temporary youth and beauty, therefore driving him to a passive and unconscious faustian bargain?
And is it just me, or Lord Alfred Douglas has a very similar behaviour to Lord Henry's? Think about this. Both Dorian and Oscar were influenced by a Lord. Both of them were quite chill about everything before the Lord entered their lives (more or less). Both of their lives end up pretty bad after being influenced.
Now I know that The picture of Dorian Gray was written in 1890, before Oscar met Bosie, but Dorian's life and Oscar's are incredibly similar.

Blood Apis: Would you like something to drink? We have water, milk, juice, bees, Dr. Pepper— Bosie: Bees? Blood Apis: Bees it is, then. Bosie: No, that wasn't— Blood Apis: *already pouring a glass of bees*

“My life is everything I ever wanted. I have fame. I have recognition. With two plays about to open in London, I may even have money. The world is at my command. Yet I can't command myself. I can't command my feelings for you.”

Bosie and Jochi Redraw 2017
I've wanted to do a redraw of some of my old art pieces for a while. I did this one of Jochi and Bosie in 2017. A lot has happened since then. Jochi lost his horns and Bosie lost all of his limbs.

Three months after Oscar went to prison, Bosie wrote a poem called Rondeau:
If he were here, this glorious sky,
This sweet blue sea, these ships that lie
On the bay’s bosom, like white sheep
On English fields, these hours that creep
Golden in summer’s panoply,
This wind that seems a lover’s sigh,
Would make a heaven of peace as high
As God’s great love, a bliss as deep,
If he were here.
This great peace does but magnify
My great unrest that will not die,
My deep despair that may not reap
One poppy, one poor hour of sleep,
Nor aught but pain to wake and cry,
‘If he were here!’
Bosie poem.
