if there's ever a season 2 of the winchesters, i need an episode where lata decides to summon dean and his magical monster-crushing impala and cas shows up too because apparently when the summoning happened, cas must've been gripping dean tight because he got flung through time and space too.

so the kids are like hey who's this, and dean rubs the back of his neck and says it's a friend.

so they're on the case and they're mid-battle when john's thrown straight through a chain-link fence and mary gets a nice face-to-face with a concrete pillar. so when they finally get out of there, lata brings out the first aid kit, except dean grabs it and rushes over to cas because cas just fell onto paper at that very moment and he's got a devastating 1/8 inch cut to his pinky (it's not even bleeding).

cue carlos looking at them with a very strange expression on his face and the heteronormative viewers watching the show laugh and giggle because haha look how funny it is that dean's mother-henning cas when john and mary are personally on their death beds.

anyway, because the rest of the gang was too busy dealing with life-threatening injuries, it's only carlos who notices the weirdness and for the rest of the episode, the camera keeps cutting back to his face every time dean and cas are together.

they head to a diner and lata accidentally drops her entire burger onto the floor. but cas still feels hungry after devouring a platter of fries so when the waitress comes up and lata's about to reorder because she's literally starving, dean butts in and orders cas an eight-course meal. lata throws him a dirty look but carlos once again has a strange strange expression on his face.

and it's like this the entire day. the monster traps them into a meat locker and cas reports feeling chilly so dean immediately takes the jacket off his body and wraps him up and he's already stripping down to his birthday suit to offer cas his body heat. meanwhile john's hemorrhaging on the floor and his temperature is plummeting and mary and lata are freaking out and carlos...oh boy, carlos. he can't even help. he just stares at dean.

finally, after several more instances of dean's cas-induced incompetence, even the others have noticed, so when they get to the motel room for the night, mary angrily lets them know that actually, they don't need dean's help because clearly dean's more preoccupied with his friendship with cas than the literal monster chasing them.

so dean shrugs and says suit yourself and as soon as they're gone, carlos, who's been having a mental breakdown all day, is like they are so not just friends. mary and john, like the heteronormative viewers watching the episode, are like what and they're confused but lata, the realization dawning on her face, says oh my god and starts looking faint.

so john and mary head to the window and to their shock, dean and cas are parked outside, making out in the impala. as it so happens, the monster they've been hunting is out there, creeping closer, except dean (with his tongue still shoved down cas' throat) picks up his gun and shoots once, the monster instantly bursting into a ball of dust, and john and mary just look on incredulously.

anyway, once they recover, they turn back and say um yeah so those two are definitely not straight and carlos just throws up his hands and looks into the camera like it's the office and the episode abruptly ends there.

but, even as the end credits play, you can see still hear the sounds of dean and cas making out though before it slowly turns into suggestive moaning.

i have very low expectations for the winchesters finale but thanks to robbie thompson being showrunner, i think it’s fair to have slightly higher expectations than normal. so anyways, a good finale to me would contain at minimum the following components:

1) dean appearing for at least 5 min of screen time total over the course of the finale

2) dean’s alive or trying to get out of heaven and be alive

3) dean mentions he’s either trying to find cas, get cas out of the empty, or makes it clear cas is present in his thoughts in some way—bonus points if he calls cas by name instead of his friend or an angel

4) the finale doesn’t end on a cliffhanger because the chances of it getting renewed for a second season are slim to none so that would suck to be left hanging

4) carlos and lata don’t die because we need to stop having poc die for pointless reasons, esp since there’s a possibility they won’t ever be brought back if there’s no season 2

i think these are all fair and reasonable requests for this finale and i’m hoping it’ll instead surprise me by being even better

Like, realistically I know that the whole “which is funny because so do I” was probably meant to mean “I also call Misha Danneel’s boyfriend” and not “I also call Misha my boyfriend” but now I can’t decide if Jenmisheel confirmed or cuck Jensen confirmed is funnier

normally, i would 100% agree that we can't know what's going on in someone else's head but, tragically, jensen is utterly hopeless and we can see right through him, and the worst part is he wants us to see him for what he is.

pls look at this face. is this the face of a man who's had a shred of self-control in the past few years? does this wide inappropriately ecstatic grin not portray how unhinged this man has become within?

at first he pretends to be mad when misha implied that he too has been intimate with jensen's wife. but is this really a true face of irritation? or rather, are you glimpsing yet again the insanity behind those eyes?

after this moment, jensen sits there for 10 seconds rubbing his thigh and thinking very hard. it sounds like a short time but it isn't. the audience's laughter even dies down. it's quiet and yet more thigh-rubbing. the audience starts to laugh again to fill the awkward silence. jensen seems to realize he can't keep rubbing his thigh without a word. it's getting creepy. whatever he's thinking, it's time to share.

finally, he says danneel likes to refer to misha as her boyfriend. and then there's another pause. the thigh-rubbing begins again. he's self-soothing because he's clearly nervous about what he's about to share. and then rather quickly, he says so do I.

and then it comes back. that horrifyingly wide grin. he's beside himself with glee. he did it. he shared what he was thinking. and that was that misha is his boyfriend too.

look at those eyes. see how unhinged they are. will anyone even be able to sleep at night after having witnessed this

he's not looking at the audience to get their reaction. he's got a dreamy, deranged faraway look because he's fantasizing about the man right next to him. he then ducks his head and smiles to himself. it's his classic i'm thinking about misha look. i could link you to 52349 other examples but it would take all day.

finally, because someone in the universe must have #pray(ed)4jensen, he realizes what he's done. he licks his lips nervously. he tries to conceal, don't feel.

but it doesn't work. no amount of prayers can save him. because when misha gets up after this and walks away, jensen's eyes follow his ass,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,hopeless. frankly, this betrays him. if he was thinking about misha being danneel's boyfriend, he wouldn't be checking out his ass. but that's his boyfriend. he has rights. he's using them.

the worst part is that his birthday cake's just arrived too, but his eyes are on the real snack i guess.

You know what, i feel bad for Misha, this is our god damn fault, we should have never made such a fuss over a joke and some mumbled words. we are the assholes in this situation we forced him to do this. Don't treat him as a liar or think he did this for fun, it was a legit accident, we are the ones who blow things out of proportion. I hope he's ok.

let's be clear: this isn't the fault of fans. misha is an adult capable of thinking through his own decisions. he has decades of experience dealing with fans. he has 10+ years of experience specifically dealing with fans from the spn fandom. he knows that the fans care a lot about queer rep and that every small comment he makes, especially about queer issues, can quickly travel through social media.

he had every good reason to believe that a comment like the one he made would blow up. and every fan who was happy to hear a comment like that and chose to celebrate did nothing wrong! there are fans that look up to him! who identify with him! who have him as their role model! even misha knows that.

misha does not need to be coddled and protected by us. his job description includes that he should be capable of contending with the consequences of what the public may say or think about him. that he should be able to know that, very similarly, what he may say can affect him too!

let's not blame queer fans for being happy to think someone might be like them! especially when it was misha who misspoke. especially when the statement he made was pretty clear about being bisexual when he was not. if someone says "i am all three of them" after listing three qualities, then it is not wrong to assume that all three qualities apply to that person. in fact, that's how language works.

so it's pretty clear that it was not the fans who made a mistake here. it was misha. so let misha own his own mistakes! he's done that by taking the step to apologize on twitter. he's doing the right thing. he'll be okay. the fans shouldn't feel like they've done something wrong when they haven't!

i wish jensen would stop changing his opinion on the finale every time he’s in front of a new audience. Today he said that there was nothing he would change, he could only sing it’s praises. And I’d like to blame Jared but Jared didn’t have any input. I just don’t feel like I can ever trust jensen not to appeal to any given audience 🫤

i don't think jensen really has a choice. it's his job and he can only talk about his opinions so long as it doesn't majorly offend anyone. and he'll only be in a job as long as he keeps things in balance.

it sucks, truly, but there are consequences for speaking up, especially in his position. he also wants to keep going with the spn universe. he has big plans, and he won't get to carry them out if he alienates a good portion of the show's fanbase. something that makes spn so attractive as a business is that it's kept a dedicated base of fans who are willing to spend a lot of money. spn has never been the most popular show, but its fans are dedicated in ways that most shows can only dream of. more fans are willing to watch the winchesters, for example, than jared's walker. because all jared's done post-finale is alienate the dean fans, and the cas fans, and the destiel fans. jensen, for the most part, has done none of that.

people are ambivalent about jensen whereas misha and jared have fans that are really black and white about their passion for them, and that's because jared and misha are really outspoken. jensen's always so careful with his words and the fact that he hasn't exactly shown a neutral face post-finale speaks a lot more about what his real thoughts and feelings are, rather than when he answers con questions where the audience is often very particular in the way they think/feel about the finale.

when he talks about the finale, he's very careful. he said it made good television. and objectively, that's true. look at how hysterical it was for all parties involved. it riled up everybody. people are still talking about it. that's actually quite a feat. and that's usually what the companies behind producing these series think is good television. that's what's going to convince these companies to go for another spin-off or reboot or movie.

he said dean wouldn't have been able to go on if sam died. also objectively true. because cas was also dead. it would've looked bleak as hell for dean.

jensen at the end of the day never lies tbh. but sometimes he withholds certain truths. like how he doesn't mention cas' absence in a room full of fans who probably hate cas anyway. the fact that he doesn't mention cas doesn't mean that he doesn't think cas' death wouldn't have affected dean too. it doesn't mean that jensen doesn't think it wouldn't have been a major factor for dean's ability to continue if sam died too.

just because it's unsaid doesn't mean it isn't true.

he's always been very honest when asked about what he would've done if cas came back (a hug, a desire to address the confession). and when asked what dean probably would've done if he'd had more time to respond to cas' love confession, he was also very honest (dean would've said i love you too).

so at the end of the day, he's never said directly that he liked the finale and that he was happy about how it ended (that's a very personal opinion to express and that's just inference that certain fans have picked up). but what he has done is make very neutral and very objectively honest statements about it that keep fans dedicated to the show.

he's not changing sides. he's not changing his opinions. he's just being very very careful while telling the truth.

I've watched the video of his "I'm all three" quote and coming out as straight two days later just makes it one of the weirdest and most awkward things I've every seen. Like, if he says he's straight, okay he's straight. But just why the shout out to bisexuals and then claiming to be one? Does this also mean he's not an introverted extrovert? What the hell did he mean by "I'm all three"? Low-key mad about the whole thing.

i will say this. and that is that only something this outrageous could happen to misha collins of all people. that being in the spn fandom apparently will never not be a wild ride. this situation is so on brand for him. it's hilarious but in a horrific way. and yeah, i'm mad. and kind of offended. and at the same time, this is exactly what i've always expected.
