Which genre are you #currentlyreading ? The Gift of life - an autobiography is a book by a woman for everyone who's struggling to "compromise " with her life and who is not giving priority to herself. Aabha Rosy Vatsa was born in Punjab but soon moved to Allahabad. She again moved to Zambia for further studies. Different cultures and her experiences are nicely written. Her life started to change after her marriage. Sanjeev, her husband's alcohol addiction and his behaviour started to bother her. Like most of Indian families ,Aabha's family tried to make her keep silent. Though they were educated their mentality wasn't better. But Aabha shifted her mind towards spirituality. As it's an autobiography I have to respect her privacy because I was keen to know more about Sanjeev and her. The language is lucid but I think this book need some proofreading . ♦️♦️June Wrap Up (1/2)♦️♦️⁣ ⁣ Have you guys found your favourite read of June yet? ⁣ ⁣ I'm a tiny bit early but I just realized I might have went overboard with the number of books I read this month. 🙈⁣ ⁣ So here's a quick wrap up of the first twelve books! ⁣ ⁣ 🔹The Winners Trilogy-- The series is so underrated. It's got politics, betrayal, forbidden romance and so much angst! The writing is beautiful and it's slow burn in the beginning. 10/10 would recommend. 😍⁣ ⁣ 🔹Even The Darkest Stars duology-- Hello there, book that left me a sobbing mess. This series was the biggest surprise I had this year! It's chronically underrated and thinking of the ending of the first book still gives me palpitations.😭 Y'all should give it a shot. ⁣ Ayesha at Last-- A P&P retelling with a Muslim twist. I'm afraid that while I loved the first half, the overabundance of plot lines and presence of several stereotypical characters ruined the book for me. ⁣ ⁣ 🔹Song of the Current duology-- Confession, I'm still in the middle of the second book but it's an okay read. I picked it up for the enemies to lovers trope and badass pirates but something just feels lacking. 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣ ⁣ 🔹Ace of Shades-- I saw Six of Crows on the back and I had to try it! 😂⁣ Basically, a fun read but predictable. A bit confusing but still fresh! I'd give it 3/5 maybe? ⁣ ⁣ 🔹Stormdancer-- The first of The Lotus War trilogy and I buddy read it with @books.bags.burgers ! The first half is slow but once it gets going you're golden. 😍⁣ ⁣ 🔹THUG-- Beautiful and relevant. A contemporarie I'd always recommend.⁣ ⁣ 🔹 Book Love-- Adorable and so so relatable! I'm half convinced the author must have been spying on me. 😂⁣ ⁣ And that's it! Now I have to get back to real life. Dammit. 😅⁣ ⁣ Farha out! *tries to dab gracefully. But fails. Happy #socksunday 💜 B•O•O•K▪︎ R•E•V•I•E•W #aurorarising Rating: DNF (chapter 6) I was given fair warning by @thebookprescription about this book. But I've been on a sci-fi kick and LOVED Illuminae. So I wanted to give this one a try. To be fair, the premise sounded like it would be up my alley and I DID walk into it without any expectations. Kudos @thebookprescription for seeing it through till the end, cause quite frankly, I got tired of hearing about Tyler's dimples, killer smile, how hot he was and his scar on his right eyebrow. I lasted 6 chapters and could have sworn the story was titled Captain Hotness & his dimples. Seriously, there was not one chapter that didn't mention them. Or his good looks. Or his tousled hair. This could have been a great story, cause it was moving quite nicely with Auri, but it was those stupid dimples! They were annoying..like Steve Urkle level of annoying! Still wanna read this one? ✨ What’s a book that you gave a second chance to? Were you glad you did? Ninth House did not mesh with me on the first go. I listened via audio and I know I’m in the minority when I say this, but I just don’t love the narrator 🙈 Many people LOVE her so don’t let me deter you! It’s very much so an unpopular opinion. I just couldn’t focus, I would zone out and zone back in and be lost... What actually got me to reread this book was the fact that I flagged a copy for my darling friend @story_hoarder. This forced me to physically read it and it was a completely different experience!
