I have never cried reading a book. I cried reading The Book Thief yesterday.
the weirdest part is, I didn’t cry for the people she lost or the life she could’ve lived. I cried for the people she got to love and the life she could live in the midst of that darkness. I cried for the selfless love only a father like Hans Hubermann could give, for Rosa’a tough but silent love, for the simplicity of Rudy’s companionship, for Max’s pure heart. I think that it is also my favourite part.
I could never find the words to explain how beautiful The Book Thief is, so I’ll say just that. It’s beautiful.

The bridge theory
TW: Suicide, Major character death, spoilers for the book I fell in love with hope.
So, hear me out, in the scene where they are trying to run away from the hospital for the first time Sam has a flashback of their late boyfriend's ( the first Sam) suicide and starts halucinating that the Bridge thei're about to cross, the Bridge where he killed himself and where Hikari would later try to do the same was the Gate between life and death and by going to the other side their friends would instantly die.
Sony, Neo and Coeur (Who later died days apart from eachother) crossed the Bridge completely and stayed in the other side until they Saw Sam run away.
Hikari attempted to Cross too but stayed behind to help Sam when they started to look scared (She attempted suicide multiple times but was either unsuccesful or was stopped by Sam just before she could do something serious to herself)
Sam never crossed the bridge in the first place, instead, they ran on the opposite direction, almost being hit by a car.
What if Sam was not halucinating? What if they were genuinely seeing the future?
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I think I’ve found another favorite book of the year! This is one of the ones that I desperately wish had been around when I was in high school. I’m sitting here crying because this book made me so ridiculously happy that it exists now (and it takes so much for me to cry over a book). It’s lovely to see a fat character like Skye, genuinely loving the body they’re in and for the story to not focus on her losing weight to feel loved or accepted. It made me so, so happy to see her living her best life and standing up not just for herself, but for everyone who’s ever been told they can’t do something because of their size. There were so many lines and quotes that I highlighted in this book because they were things that hit home. I felt so seen and understood by this book. I just want to scream at the top of my lungs that everyone should read I’ll Be The One. It was a fantastic book and I’m giving it a solid five stars. And now I need to go dry my eyes 😭.

I’ve got a real bad hangover from this book (which apparently started life as a Steve/Bucky AU set in Medieval England???) Very horny, very angsty, lots of court intrigue and a love story that will make you sob.

I’m aware how insufferable I am, I listen to this to fall asleep when I’m not actively rereading the book for the 28288272783 time

i rise and fall
during the waking hours
the fire within me
diminishes at once
as you devoured bits and pieces
of my soul
all the things that kept me alive
no longer suffice
suddenly i am left here
in the dark
fading away
falling apart

TW: Spoilers for "i fell in love with Hope".
I am crying right now! I just finished chapter 20 and i definitely didn't expect Sony's death at all. I had already assumed Neo, Coeur and her were all going to die at some point in the book but i didn't expect her death to be so sudden, and most importantly, in the middle of the book.
She was my favourite character and i can't imagine the group without her. Now, if you excuse me im going to sob for another five minutes and create a scenario in my head where she survived.
PD: I'm now one step Closer to owing my little brother a bag of gummy bears becaue we did a bet and he said no one of the main 5 would make It out alive.

Do you remember the last book that made you cry?
I don't often cry while reading book because it's hard for me to visualize things fully in my head. However, I did the audio for Under the Whispering Door and boy did I cry. Big, fat tears. Not going to spoil what made me cry, but this book. Holy hells.
Under the Whispering Door is a book about life, death, grief, family (found and otherwise), and ultimately what it means to be human. It's got ghosts, reapers, an eternal being that turns into a dear, romance, and so so so much heart! This book will stick with me for a while.
Content warnings for death, suicide, death by car accident, animal death, child death, death of a parent, murder, grief, panic attacks, anxiety, infidelity, gaslighting, and more.
Check StoryGraph for a full list of warnings. I'll have the link in my stories.
