This holiday involves Chang'e (goddess of the moon), Moon Rabbit, & eating mooncakes. 🌕 In RENT A BOYFRIEND, Drew paints moons w/ Chang'e & 🌛🐰, Chloe & Drew bond over eating 🥮 and making 🥮 puns ("that takes the mooncake" instead of "that takes the cake" and "mooncake points" instead of "brownie points"). Mooncakes are even featured on the book jacket & in section breaks!! 🌘 My mom told me the story of Chang'e often when I was little. I always saw the 🐇 in the moon (similar to the idea of seeing a man or face in the moon) and I still see the rabbit to this day. These stories were such a part of my childhood that I keep bringing different parts to my stories.
