I read Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar" for @letters-from-x reading challenge and I loved it. I loved the way it felt like Plath was musing through her character but also like she was speaking to me. I loved listening to her reflect on childbirth and the nature of men. She had so many good things to say. And I felt so gripped by her exploration of her mental health and I felt rage at how she was treated. Plath completely sucked me in with her writing and how natural the progression of the book felt. I seriously enjoyed it. Some of my favourite lines in no particular order:

There was also this part where she had this metaphor about a fig tree and her life being wasted, which she commented on a couple pages later saying that musing was caused by her hunger which made me laugh.

Do you ever get a bug in your brain? I have been itching to host another book photo challenge and had a thought.
You know how you sometimes you hear that a day is some random day? Like Hat Day or International Chicken Day? Did you know every day has A Day like that? I do now, because I spent an inordinate amount of time looking it up to see if I could make a book photo challenge about it. And I can. And I did. And I'm already also halfway through planning through October.
Introducing the Fun Day Book Photo Challenge! Starting in August, and as with every book photo challenge, use each daily holiday as a prompt to take a book photo and post it with the tags "FunDayBPC," "FDBPH," and "DragonBadgerChallenge." I'll be checking the tags daily and reblogging each post in the tags! (I may cross-post to Instagram, on my new account, also named DragonBadgerBooks, so if you are on Instagram, keep an eye out!).
Let's celebrate, y'all!

This is my public request and plea that if authors are going to use uncommon names for characters/places in their books (or even spell them wayyyy different) that they include a pronunciation guide at the beginning of the books with the correct pronunciation? I hate sounding stupid when trying to talk outloud about books and not knowing if I’m saying it right 😭

🩰2024 Reading Journal🎀
My sisters and I got matching journal sets for our 2024 reading goals; mine has a ballet and ribbons theme. (You can see some of the associated washi tapes in some of my spreads!) The big blank spaces next to the book titles are going to have small custom-print stickers of their book covers once I've read enough to print a batch. The two-page spread is for Bookopoly: a year-long reading challenge that I officially started in February. I would have made it around the board once already if I hadn't landed on Go To Jail. :/
I'll do separate posts at some point for my individual reads; I don't think there's enough interest to make one post per book so I think I'll do 5 or 6 books at a time.
