Heyyy! Curious, between waxing, shaving, sugaring, laser and alll the things, what do you think is the best and healthiest method for removing body hairs and having smooth skin (without marks and ingrown hairs lol)?
Sugaring for sure! It prevents ingrown hairs by exfoliating your skin at the same time. And Ive noticed that the hair grows back a lot thinner than with regular wax.
To further avoid ingrowns make sure you exfoliate one to two days after hair removal (depending on how sensitive your skin is you might want to wait longer) and then twice a week for maintenance, keep the area clean and moisturized on a daily basis, and I personally tone with rose water all over my body after showering and right after sugaring.
A deficiency in Omega 3 and dehydration can also make you prone to ingrown hairs + dark marks!

Como ser sua melhor versão?
🎀
Unhas
Particularmente eu amo fazer minhas unhas. Gosto de pintar elas de branco, vermelho, verde escuro, azul e cores peroladas. Se você não quiser pintá-las e só deixar lixadas e limpas.

Fillers Decoded: What You Need to Know Before Your First Treatment
Introduction
Fillers, also known as dermal filler or soft tissue filler, are injectable substances used to address facial wrinkles, restore volume, and enhance facial contours. They work by adding volume to areas that have lost elasticity and collagen due to aging or other factors. Fillers are popular for their ability to minimize lines, restore facial volume, and create a more youthful appearance without surgery.
Rising Popularity
Discuss the increasing popularity of filler in cosmetic procedures. This surge in demand is attributed to their non-invasive nature, minimal downtime, and the ability to achieve noticeable results relatively quickly compared to surgical alternatives.
Non-Invasive Nature:
One of the key drivers of filler popularity lies in their non-invasive nature. Unlike surgical procedures, filler offer a minimally invasive approach to address various cosmetic concerns. The prospect of undergoing a procedure that involves minimal incisions or no surgical intervention greatly appeals to individuals seeking cosmetic enhancements without the associated risks, scarring, or extensive recovery periods typically associated with surgeries.
Minimal Downtime:
Filler treatments often boast minimal downtime, a crucial aspect for many individuals with busy lifestyles. The ability to resume daily activities soon after the procedure is immensely appealing. Compared to surgical interventions that might necessitate extended rest or downtime, filler treatments allow individuals to swiftly return to their routines, making them a convenient option for those with hectic schedules.
Swift and Noticeable Results:
Another driving force behind the surge in filler popularity is the ability to achieve noticeable results relatively quickly. While surgical procedures might require weeks or months for visible changes to become apparent, fillers offer immediate or rapidly visible outcomes. Individuals seeking immediate improvements in facial volume, reduction of wrinkles, or enhancements in specific facial features find fillers an attractive option due to their prompt and visible effects.
Accessibility and Customization:
The accessibility of filler treatments across various demographics has contributed significantly to their popularity. These treatments can be tailored to address specific concerns and are available at a range of aesthetic clinics and medical practices. Moreover, the versatility of fillers allows for customization, enabling practitioners to cater to individual needs, whether it's augmenting lips, contouring cheeks, or reducing the appearance of fine lines, enhancing their appeal among a diverse clientele.
Confidence and Self-Image Enhancement:
The psychological impact of filler treatments shouldn't be overlooked. Many individuals report a boost in self-confidence and improved self-image following successful filler treatments. The ability to achieve subtle enhancements that align with personal aesthetic goals contributes to a greater sense of satisfaction and self-assurance.
Cultural Shift Towards Non-Surgical Options:
In recent years, there's been a noticeable cultural shift towards embracing non-surgical cosmetic options. This shift in societal attitudes toward cosmetic enhancements has reduced the stigma associated with seeking aesthetic procedures, further fueling the demand for fillers among individuals of varying ages and backgrounds. The combined allure of minimal invasiveness, rapid results, minimal downtime, and the ability to address specific cosmetic concerns has fueled the exponential rise in the popularity of fillers, establishing them as a prominent choice among those seeking aesthetic improvements.
Importance of Understanding Fillers:
Restoring Volume and Youthfulness:
As individuals age, they experience a natural loss of collagen, hyaluronic acid, and facial fat, leading to volume depletion, sagging skin, and the formation of wrinkles and folds. Fillers play a pivotal role in restoring lost volume, plumping up areas, and rejuvenating facial contours, thereby imparting a more youthful appearance.
Addressing Wrinkles and Fine Lines:
Fillers are effective in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and creases on the face. By filling in these lines and crevices, fillers create a smoother skin surface, softening the signs of aging and improving skin texture.
Enhancing Facial Features:
Fillers are used not only for rejuvenation but also for enhancing specific facial features. Whether it's augmenting lips, defining cheekbones, sculpting the jawline, or smoothing out the nose profile, fillers offer versatility in enhancing and refining facial aesthetics.
Non-Surgical Option:
The non-surgical nature of fillers appeals to many individuals seeking cosmetic enhancements without the commitment, risks, or downtime associated with surgical procedures. This accessibility and minimal invasiveness make fillers an attractive option for those seeking subtle yet noticeable improvements.
Customization and Tailored Treatments:
One of the significant advantages of fillers is the ability to customize treatments. Practitioners can tailor the type of filler, volume, and placement to suit individual facial features, addressing specific concerns while maintaining natural-looking results.
Immediate Results and Minimal Downtime:
Filler treatments offer almost immediate results. While swelling and bruising may occur initially, noticeable improvements are often visible soon after treatment. Additionally, the minimal downtime associated with fillers allows individuals to resume their daily activities shortly after the procedure.
Reversible and Adjustable:
In certain cases, fillers offer a degree of reversibility. For hyaluronic acid fillers, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can be used to dissolve the filler if necessary. Additionally, adjustments can be made during subsequent sessions to refine or modify the results as desired.
Psychological Impact:
Enhanced self-confidence and improved self-esteem are reported by individuals following successful filler treatments. Feeling more satisfied with their appearance often translates to increased confidence in personal and professional interactions.
Evolving Techniques and Advancements:
The continuous evolution of filler techniques and advancements in formulations allow for safer, more natural-looking results. Innovations in filler technology aim to improve longevity, minimize discomfort during procedures, and enhance overall patient satisfaction.
Complementary to Other Treatments:
Fillers can complement other aesthetic treatments, such as Botox, laser therapies, or surgical procedures, contributing to a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation and beautification.
Types of Fillers:
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers:
Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane, are among the most widely used fillers in cosmetic procedures. HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body that contributes to skin hydration, volume, and elasticity. These fillers are renowned for their versatility and safety profile.
Collagen-Based Fillers:
Collagen-based fillers, though less commonly used now, were among the first-generation dermal fillers. Collagen is a protein found in the body that provides structural support and elasticity to the skin.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite (Radiesse):
Radiesse is a dermal filler composed of calcium hydroxylapatite, a substance found naturally in bones. It acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing support and stimulating collagen production.
Poly-L-Lactic Acid (Sculptra):
Sculptra is a biostimulatory filler rather than an immediate volumizer. It contains poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic material that stimulates collagen production in the skin over time.
Mechanism of Fillers:
Injection: The filler substance is injected into targeted areas using fine needles or cannulas by a trained medical professional.
Volume Addition: Once injected, the filler adds volume to the area, lifting the skin and smoothing out wrinkles or lines. For instance, if injected into the lips, it enhances their shape and plumpness.
Stimulation of Collagen (in some types): Certain fillers, like PLLA, work by stimulating the body's natural collagen production. Collagen is a protein that provides structural support to the skin, contributing to its firmness and elasticity.
Duration and Longevity:
The duration and longevity of fillers depend on the type of filler used, individual body metabolism, and the area treated. Generally, fillers offer temporary results that can last anywhere from a few months to a couple of years:
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers: These typically last between 6 months to 18 months, depending on the specific product used and the area treated. Lip fillers might dissipate faster due to higher movement in the area.
Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) Fillers: Results can last around 12 months or longer. The filler’s composition contributes to its longer-lasting effects compared to HA fillers.
Poly-L-lactic Acid (PLLA) Fillers: These stimulate collagen production, leading to gradual improvements. Results might appear more gradually over a few months and can last up to 2 years or more.
Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) Fillers: PMMA is considered semi-permanent and can last several years, as it doesn’t break down like some other types of fillers. It provides longer-lasting results but requires careful consideration due to its permanence.
Factors influencing the longevity of fillers include the individual's metabolism, lifestyle habits, and the rate at which the body absorbs and breaks down the filler material. Touch-up sessions are often necessary to maintain desired results, as the body gradually absorbs the filler over time.
Considerations Before Treatment:
Consultation with a Qualified Professional:
Medical Assessment: A thorough consultation with a qualified healthcare professional is vital. They'll evaluate your medical history, allergies, ongoing medications, and any existing conditions to ensure the treatment's suitability and safety for you.
Understanding Expectations: Clear communication about your goals and expectations is essential. A professional can discuss what can realistically be achieved with fillers and help manage expectations.
Choosing the Right Practitioner:
Certification and Experience: Ensure the practitioner administering the fillers is trained, certified, and experienced in the specific procedure. Check their credentials and ask for before-and-after photos of their previous work.
Understanding Risks and Limitations:
Possible Side Effects: Educate yourself about potential side effects, such as swelling, bruising, redness, or allergic reactions. Understanding these risks allows you to make an informed decision.
Longevity and Maintenance: Know the expected duration of the chosen filler and discuss the need for maintenance sessions to sustain the results over time.
Preparing for Your First Treatment:
Research and Consultation:
Understanding the Procedure: Research different types of fillers available and their intended uses. Learn about the procedure, its benefits, and potential risks.
Consultation: Schedule a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. Prepare questions about the procedure, recovery, expected results, and any concerns you might have.
Medical Considerations:
Medical History: Be ready to provide a comprehensive medical history, including allergies, ongoing medications, previous cosmetic treatments, and any existing health conditions.
Informing the Practitioner: Disclose any allergies or adverse reactions you've had to medications or previous cosmetic treatments.
Lifestyle Adjustments:
Avoid Blood Thinners: As advised by your practitioner, consider avoiding medications, supplements, or foods that could increase bleeding or bruising (like aspirin, fish oil, etc.) before the treatment.
Alcohol and Smoking: Minimize alcohol intake and refrain from smoking before and after the procedure, as these can affect recovery and results.
Pre-Treatment Care:
Hydration: Ensure your body is adequately hydrated before the procedure. Well-hydrated skin tends to respond better to treatments.
Skincare Routine: Discuss with your practitioner if there are any specific skincare products or routines to follow or avoid before the treatment.
Mental Preparation:
Managing Expectations: Have realistic expectations about the results. Discuss what can and cannot be achieved with fillers during the consultation.
Understanding Post-Treatment Care: Familiarize yourself with the potential side effects and the post-treatment care routine to ensure a smooth recovery.
Conclusion
Fillers offer a versatile and effective solution for enhancing facial features, smoothing wrinkles, and restoring volume. Understanding the different types of fillers, their mechanisms, and discussing your goals with a qualified professional are crucial steps. Before undergoing any treatment, consider the risks, prepare both physically and mentally, and have realistic expectations. With proper preparation, guidance from a skilled practitioner, and adherence to post-treatment care, fillers can provide temporary yet noticeable improvements, contributing to a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
