Frank can you tell me a bedtime story please? 🥺 I'm just a little guy. I'm just a little guy who'd like a bedtime story, you wouldn't tell a sleepy little guy who wants a bedtime story no, would you?
A little guy from hell stumbled into a pub, scared.
"What's wrong with you?" asked a patron.
The little guy replied, "Satan sent me to Earth to corrupt the humans, but they don't seem to care!"
The patron said, "Not to worry, little guy, we got this."
A nun entered the pub and chastised the little guy.
"How dare you drown your iniquities in alcohol?" she said.
The patron asked, "Not to worry, little guy, we got a beer."
A well-meaning liberal entered the pub and said, "The poor need to break the cycle of oppression and poverty."
The patron laughed and replied, "Not to worry, little guy, we got liberalism."
A grinning hobo entered the pub and asked, "Hey, do you have anything I can eat?"
"Not to worry, little guy," said the patron, "we have a religion."
A little guy of indeterminate gender and gender identity entered the pub.
"Not to worry, little guy," replied the patron, "We have a penis."

marauder parents hcs:
mostly for my own continuity fanfic writing reasons
remus- hope and lyall; very in love, they're an adventuring turned sitting on the sofa with a cuppa couple. they both sell things at the village market, and help out neighbouring farms. hope died in early 80s and lyall spends the rest of his life mourning her and his son
james- euphemia and fleamont; literally besotted with each other, best friends turned lovers but it was fleamont crushing heavy on euphemia whilst euphemia was in a highschool romance with minerva. died in each other's arms <3
sirius & regulus- orion and walburga; arranged marriage, knew each other since they were babies (being cousins and all). didn't particularly get on, they just tolerated each other and both had numerous affairs
peter- lydia and cora (mum and dad divorced and his dad legally isn't allowed to see him); lydia was a teen mum to peter and later realised she was a lesbian, got with cora whilst peter was a teenager and cora became his unofficial mum-in-law.
dorcas- bob (mum isn't around/left when she was very young); he's bob the builder /real. is very gay. never came out to dorcas (she knew). sirius was the one who told him dorcas was dead, weeks after it happened. and after it came out in the muggle world of sirius being a huge criminal, bob blamed him for dorcas' death.
lily- jean and lee; both huge workaholics (boring office jobs) and put a lot of academic pressure on petunia and lily. *cough* lee is in love with bob *cough*. lily gets the ginger-ness from lee. they both don't know a lot about their kids life, which they regretted after lily's death.
marlene- catherine and ian; catherine is a huge bitch, we hate her. ian is just there. he's a classic sitcom dad- goes to work, reads the paper, watches tv, occasionally fixes stuff in the house and plays football with his sons. he's much closer to marlene's brothers, since catherine doesn't like marlene doing 'masculine' things. they're both middle class, wannabe perfect and traditional family people.
mary- aymee and ronnie; quite chill. ronnie works at the post office, and aymee sells homemade jewellery. they both get on more with mary than her older goth lesbian sister, sy. aymee went to hogwarts, was in hufflepuff, so is the parent to help mary out with magic related things.
emmeline- mi-sook and yeong-su; yeong-su went to hogwarts so got emmeline to live with her grandparents (in scotland) so she could go there too. as such, she's not that close to her parents. she does gets on with her mum, sending letters to each other every week and spending time together when emmeline visits. but doesn't get on with her dad, him being distant and comparing her to her younger siblings
pandora- tilly and cian; they both worked as apprentices to nicholas flamel after finishing school and met each other there. they're the lovegoods (i'm a 'xenophilius took pandora's last name' truther.) regulus' parents let him be friends with pandora in hopes her parents would get regulus a connection to the flamel's. they both dissaproved of xenophilius but agreed it was better than pandora's previous sapphic poly relationship

Vance: Okay, before we do this, let's talk weapons. What'd everybody bring?
Finney: Wait, what? None! Why are we talking weapons now? There was a much better time to do this, back when we were near weapons!
Vance: Well, I have extras. You're welcome. [sighs] Okay, here's what I got. Ruler, for slapping, or poking.
Robin: Or measuring.
Finney: Pass.
Vance: Key chain, for stabbing.
Griffin: Or keys.
Vance: You could also take the key chain, and you could force it down a throat.
Robin: Yeah, you could sneak it into someone's mouth.
Vance: Yeah.
Griffin: Hey, what's that? Oh, keys in your mouth.
Finney: Wha-What else you got?
Vance: Uh, you know, mace, knife. But I'm keeping those.

As a train derailment and fire forced evacuations in Minnesota on Thursday, a trio of Democratic U.S. Senators introduced another piece of legislation inspired by the ongoing public health and environmental disaster in and around East Palestine, Ohio.
The Railway Accountability Act—led by Sens. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Bob Casey (D-Pa.), and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio)—would build on the bipartisan Railway Safety Act introduced at the beginning of March by Brown and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) after a Norfolk Southern train carrying hazardous materials including vinyl chloride derailed in the small Ohio community on February 3.
While welcoming "greater federal oversight and a crackdown on railroads that seem all too willing to trade safety for higher profits," Eddie Hall, national president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET), also warned just after the earlier bill was unveiled that "you can run a freight train through the loopholes."
The new bill is backed by unions including the Transport Workers of America (TWU), the National Conference of Firemen & Oilers (NCFO), and the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers-Mechanical Division (SMART-MD).
"It is an honor and a privilege to introduce my first piece of legislation, the Railway Accountability Act, following the derailment affecting East Palestine, Ohio, and Darlington Township, Pennsylvania," Fetterman said in a statement. "This bill will implement commonsense safety reforms, hold the big railway companies accountable, protect the workers who make these trains run, and help prevent future catastrophes that endanger communities near railway infrastructure."
Fetterman, who is expected to return to the Senate in mid-April after checking himself into Walter Reed National Military Medical Center last month to be treated for clinical depression, asserted that "working Pennsylvanians have more than enough to think about already—they should never have been put in this horrible situation."
"Communities like Darlington Township and East Palestine are too often forgotten and overlooked by leaders in Washington and executives at big companies like Norfolk Southern who only care about making their millions," he added. "That's why I'm proud to be working with my colleagues to stand up for these communities and make clear that we're doing everything we can to prevent a disaster like this from happening again."
As Fetterman's office summarized, the Railway Accountability Act would:
• Direct the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) to examine the causes of and potential mitigation strategies for wheel-related derailments and mechanical defects, and publish potential regulations that would improve avoidance of these defects;
• Ensure that employees can safely inspect trains by prohibiting trains from being moved during brake inspections;
• Require that the mechanic that actually inspects a locomotive or rail car attests to its safety;
• Direct the FRA to review regulations relating to the operation of trains in switchyards, and direct railroads to update their plans submitted under the FRA's existing Risk Reduction Program (RRP) to incorporate considerations regarding switchyard practices;
• Require the FRA to make Class 1 railroad safety waivers public in one online location;
• Require railroads to ensure that communication checks between the front and end of a train do not fail, and that emergency brake signals reach the end of a train;
• Ensure Class 1 railroad participation in the confidential Close Call Reporting System by requiring all railroads that have paid the maximum civil penalty for a safety violation to join; and
• Ensure that railroads provide warning equipment (such as white disks, red flags, or whistles) to railroad watchmen and lookouts.
A preliminary report released in late February by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) suggests an overheated wheel bearing may have caused the disastrous derailment in Ohio. The initial findings added fuel to demands that federal lawmakers enact new rules for the rail industry.
"Rail lobbyists have fought for years to protect their profits at the expense of communities like East Palestine," Brown noted Thursday.
Casey stressed that "along with the Railway Safety Act, this bill will make freight rail safer and protect communities from preventable tragedies."
In addition to pushing those two bills, Brown, Casey, and Fetterman have responded to the East Palestine disaster by introducing the Assistance for Local Heroes During Train Crises Act and—along with other colleagues—writing to Norfolk Southern president and CEO Alan Shaw, NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy, and U.S. Environmental Protection Administrator Michael Regan with various concerns and demands.

RIP GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA
1927-2023
Tumblr media
Luigia “Gina” Lollobrigida was born in Subiaco, Italy, and became one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s. As an actress, she was put under contract by Howard Hughes, but decided not to stay in America. Her breakthrough film came in 1953′s Beat The Devil. Gina was tagged "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World", after her signature movie Beautiful But Dangerous (1955).
Tumblr media
Gina embodied the prototype of Italian beauty. Her earthy looks and short "tossed salad" hairdo were especially influential and, in fact, there's a type of curly lettuce named "Lollo" in honor of her hairdo.
At the 1968 Golden Globe Awards, Lucy was nominated for Yours, Mine and Ours and Gina for Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell. Barbra Streisand took home the award for Funny Girl.
Although she never acted opposite Lucille Ball, her name was mentioned on “I Love Lucy” and “The Lucy Show”.
Tumblr media
In “The Black Wig” (1954), Ricky sarcastically calls his new raven-haired wife Lucille Magnani, a nod to Italian film actress Anna Magnani. Although Gina Lollobrigida is not included in the dialogue, she was undoubtedly an influence. The episode was filmed just five weeks after Lollobrigida was on the cover of Look about her hairstyle.
Tumblr media
In “Staten Island Ferry” (1956), Lucy and Ethel are studying languages in preparation for their European trip. Lucy is studying French, while Ethel is learning Italian.
ETHEL: “By the time we get to Italy, you won’t be able to tell me from Gina Lollobrigida.”
Tumblr media
In “Lucy’s Italian Movie” (1956), Fred hogs more than his share of the sleeper seat on their overnight train trip to Rome.
ETHEL: “Fred!  Fred!  Wake up, sleeping beauty.” LUCY: “You couldn’t wake him up with a stick of dynamite.” ETHEL: "I’ve got an idea. (yells) Look!  There goes Gina Lollobrigida!”   FRED: (immediately jumping up from his seat): “Where?  Where?  Where?”
Tumblr media
Starting with “Lucy Hunts Uranium” (1957), Lucille Ball sported a new hairstyle called the 'layered artichoke look,' that stylist Irma Kusely said was influenced by Gina Lollobrigida, among others. When Lucy reaches for a hatbox (in which she's hidden her Geiger counter) Ethel mistakenly guesses: “Oh, you've bought a new hat to go with your new hairdo?”
Tumblr media
When “Lucy Dates Dean Martin” (1966) his stunt man Eddie Feldman (also played by Martin) says that while Lucy is attractive, she is no Gina Lollobrigida.
Tumblr media
In 1968′s “Guess Who Owes Lucy $23.50″ Lucy pretends to be a made-up Italian film star named Gina Linguini, who bears more than a passing resemblance to Gina Lollobrigida.
Tumblr media
She appeared with Lucille Ball in the 1982 Bob Hope Special “Women Loved: Beautiful But Funny.” By this time, Lollobrigida had all but retired from acting, becoming a respected photojournalist.
She died in Rome at the age of 95.
