Do you think Nikki Haley losing to None Of The Above in Nevada will be enough to make her drop out of the race, or is it more likely she’ll stick it out until the RNC this summer?

There's almost no chance that Haley will drop out prior to the Republican SC primary (February 24). It is her home state and she will want to run in that at least, plus she has seemed to get more confident in attacking Trump and fundraising off him losing his shit about her refusing to do so. Which: Haley sucks, obviously, but the more she sticks around and drives the Great Orange Führer insane for refusing to bow down and kiss the ring, and the more she gets her percentage of old school GOP voters determined to never vote for Trump no matter what, is good for us.

Especially after the Republicans' almost-unprecedented levels of clownery in a short 24 hours yesterday, when their continuing slavish attachment to nothing except Trump's bloated orange posterior was made blindingly apparent for all to see, and the DC Circuit strongly upped the odds that he will in fact face a trial before the election, Haley really has no actual reason to drop out now, even if the RNC wants her to. I doubt she'll take it all the way to the convention, and will probably drop out after Super Tuesday. But as I said, the more she sticks it out, the better, both because it drives Trump insane and because the more of her voters she can solidify as Never Trump, the more of those (as they are in fact planning to do in not-inconsiderable percentages) will vote for Biden in November. So yes.

YES HI so right after I figured out the mav as cap and ice as winter soldier I knew I was going to need an avengers team. immediately hangman as iron man and coyote as war machine (and phoenix as black widow) all came to mind and has been stewing for months (if anyone has suggestions for the rest of them, I'm welcome to ideas!!)

I don't have a specific story in mind quite yet it's just like, a vibe atm, and I really need to go back and watch the iron man movies for inspo, but one thing I think would be fun to explore for them is jake giving javy the armor (does tony give rhodey the armor or does rhodey just go for it? genuinely cannot remember) bUT jake gifting it to javy as a like 'hey you're my best friend who I may be in love with and I want to be able to protect you/I don't want you to die' would be lots of fun 👀

"Real believable. Great job."

He's laughing, but he knows his fingers aren't grabbing lightly any more, and Warlock's hand at the back of his head invites him to tip forward against his shoulder. For stability, he tells himself, and then realizes it's more than true, and he's going to pass out. "Not so bad, considering."

diplomatic relations for the wip ask meme 👀

I've only written like three sentences for this fic (I'd probably have finished it by now if I hadn't started working on in vera instead lmao) but diplomatic relations is a fetch phillips archives fic about forced voyeurism and mind games. I'm going to have a lot of fun writing it, when I eventually get around to writing it.

the two most important things about hendricks in the books is that he's a diplomat and he's a slut. the third most important thing is that he's incredibly manipulative. he pulls a lot of strings to get fetch as part of his personal security retinue. everyone calls fetch "hendricks' human pet." it's heavily implied that everyone thinks they're sleeping together.

the whole premise of the fic is that they're not sleeping together—hendricks just keeps forcing fetch (who is extremely repressed) to stay and watch while he sleeps with other people. it's a matter of security. what if the ambassador hendricks is meeting with is secretly planning to assassinate him, and the seduction is all a ruse to get him naked and vulnerable? he's worried for his own safety! fetch MUST stay. he needs to stay and watch and pay very careful attention to make sure that absolutely nothing can go wrong. this is a very important task. hendricks is trusting fetch with his life here. clearly. obviously. that's all it is. no other reason for any of it. that would be entirely unprofessional. (and of course it only makes the rumors worse.)

so anyway it's just gonna be like 10k of tense proxy smut. honestly it would be less fucked up if they were just sleeping together.

As a Wisconsinite, tonight’s State Supreme Court election results have me weeping tears of joy. Finally we can begin the process of unfucking our state!!!

I mean, yeah. Dan Kelly is fucking terrible, and the Republicans have done such a number on Wisconsin that despite being an extremely swingy purple state on the federal level, it has solidly entrenched GOP supermajorities at the state level, with all the terrible things that state-level Republican control involves (and despite having a Democratic governor). I'm still disappointed that y'all couldn't get rid of Ron Fucking Johnson in the Senate for us, but hopefully this is a good start in other areas. XD

“Hey,” Batman says, shaking him gently. “You have a concussion. We need to test a few things. Don’t go to sleep.”

“You don’t get to tell me what to do, Spooky.”

“I can, actually,” Bats says dryly, “but Agent A is much more intimidating. Good luck."

Batman steps back from the cot. Unexpectedly, Maverick panics.

“Wait, don’t—”

“Really, Agent A is more than capable—”

“Maybe I don’t want him,” Mav blurts. He immediately feels his cheeks heat. Batman promptly shuts up. Stupid, goddamn concussion—

“To, uh,” Mav stumbles belatedly, “to do the tests. Um.”

“Well then,” Agent A says, eyebrows raised with a knowing look at Batman, “I suppose I’ll leave you to it.”

“Hrn,” Batman says, and Agent A leaves the two of them alone. Bats takes over scanning the equipment for…whatever it is they scan for, Mav’s no medical expert. Mav lies back and resigns himself to his fate, though he does note which tunnels may be easiest to escape into if he needs to.

“Don’t even think about it,” Bats says. He’s not looking at Mav, and yet— “your ring is out of power so you wouldn’t get very far even if you weren’t injured."

“Pretty sure I could handle any of your jets just fine,” Mav grumbles. “You a mind reader now?”

“No.” He doesn’t elaborate further. “Don’t touch my jets.”
