nd here is the final painting for my Avatar: The Last Airbender series! Avatar Aang himself, master of the Four Elements and savior of the world.
The cartoon was significant for me when I was growing up. Now that the live action is releasing tommorow, after 20 years since the original I felt that its the time to create my tribute.
This was the first one of the three (Katara, Sokka) that I made, and the piece I spent the least amount of time on. I also had plans for more characters but time constraints wont allow me to work on them just yet! Perhaps in the future.
I hope you like it!
All the best,
JCH

Iku Turso
My rendition of the mythical sea creature from Finnish mythology. I was really happy to get this task! I was able to really nerd out and use my knowledge in both creature design and Finnish mythology to bring this card illustration to life. Iku Turso, like many mythical creatures have been described in countless of different ways and for my version I used descriptions and inspirations from Finnish nature and wildlife.
Done for Legends of the Deep by North Star Games.
Find me and my art elsewhere!

At the bookstore today I saw this new Mary Shelley game. It may seem like a cash-grab but honestly I think Mary herself would LOVE this. Mary's father William Godwin owned a children's bookstore which sold games as well. When they weren't writing some of the most acclaimed 18th century philosophy, he and his first wife Mary Wollstonecraft also wrote some childrens literature, and both focused heavily on youth education in their belief system. Later, Mary and Percy Shelley (both inspired by her parents, whom they idolized) also worked on childrens stories together and bonded over their mutual love for children, games, education, and imaginative play all around.

The description reads thus: "Contained within these three volumes is a secret many have devated their entire lives to unearthing, and always in vain. It is a secret I would have taken with me to the grave, except that it is, in more ways than ane, our family's legacy, and thus rightfully belongs with you.
"You have just received 'The Shelley Volumes,' a collection of hollowed-out books left by Mary Shelley (author of Frankenstein) to her son, Florence. Inside you'll discover a trove of beautiful documents, 2D and 3D jigsaw puzzles, and other mysterious objects and artifacts. Solve Mary's puzzles and you'll be treated to a heartbreaking story that culminates in a shocking reimagining of the truth behind her famous novel."
From the website: "Mother of Frankenstein is a groundbreaking new game that combines the best of escape rooms, immersive theater, and prose fiction."

Game Designer's Ruler - Available at The Game Crafter
Tumblr media
Have you seen our Game Designer’s Ruler? It’s a powerful tool for board game designers that has both imperial & metric measurements, as well as stencils for common game components.
The ruler is 36-tools-in-1 and only costs about $5! It allows you to design components on paper that are the same size as what The Game Crafter prints.

In celebration of the upcoming Avatar series I made three illustrations depicting key characters. Here is Sokka, the boomerang wielding warrior from the Southern Water Tribe.
Please let me know what you think and if you are going to watch the show!
All the best,
Joel

I'm sitting here, coming up with a parody version of Clue™ just for a Lockwood and Co fanfic one-shot.
...
It's kinda fun, actually!
It's called "Haunted Mansion"
Instead of "solve the murder" it's "find the source."
Instead of playing suspect characters, you play different Agents (and a Supervisor) to make up a team.
Instead of "murder weapons" you have "potential sources."
And instead of trying to figure out who is the murderer, you try to figure out who's ghost is haunting the mansion.
I'm still figuring out the other mechanics, but so far I know it involves an egg timer, and suffering attacks from the "ghost."

I Made a Game!
I made a Hidden Role Board Game called Barricade The Gates. It’s about a medieval village that’s about to be raided and ransacked by a marauding army, but the army has hired spies to weaken the defenses of the village to make the conquest easier. So the players have got to figure out who’s sabotaging them, with enough time to actually defend themselves from the much larger threat.
I’ve been working on this for over 6 months and I’m incredibly proud of this game. I’ve done a ton of playtesting, worked out all the kinks, and I’m finally ready to release it just in time for the spooky season. I decided to make it half off for the first week, so it's only $7.50 right now until November 7th. I would really appreciate it if you could give it a look and consider picking it up. Either way, if you could let people know about it, that would be lovely. You can pick it up right here on itch: https://thewispsoftime.itch.io/barricade-the-gates
