In honor of what.'s 10th anniversary, here is the absolute BEST description of his crazy comedy special:
The stage is a canvas. His paintbrushes are sex, love songs, frogs, sadness, the brain — and prolonged eye contact.
Unfortunately, Netflix has since changed their summary (I took this screenshot in April 2022), but this one really encapsulates the absurdity of Bo's second comedy special. Plus he's an artist dammit! ✌🏼🐔

The problem with Bo Burnham is that he'll deliver the most gut wrenching, soul shattering, humanity encompassing lyric, flowed immediately by some shit like "a goat cheese salaaaaad~" or "I sent gays to fix overpopulation.... boy did that go well"

Woo-hoo—my website now has an INCREDIBLE essay posted by someone other than myself! 🙌🏼
Yes, I know you all are getting sick of my writing (believe me, so am I haha), so please take the time to check out this piece on stand-up comedy and audiences by the immensely talented @johannestevans 👀
I really enjoyed how the author explains the tension comics play with to make a joke land and how audiences are distracted if something isn't explained to them early enough in the set.
I did find this line humorous though:
Almost no comedian would start their set with a long joke that takes a lot of set-up to get to the punchline, because much of the audience wouldn’t listen to the set-up.
Um...Bo Burnham's 8 minutes of MIMING to kick off what., anyone? Haha
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this guest stand-up essay by Johannes T. Evans, and stay tuned for more comedy fun! ✌🏼🐔
