This is sooooo coincidental but do you have design ideas for Moonflower and Snowfur? [<- actively looking everywhere but at the howling at the moon tag]

I haven't drawn Snowfur and Moonflower yet but, they are the ones who bring the wolf-motif to the family as a whole!

I can't see Moonflower with stripes, honestly. In my head she's always been silvery-pale, with gray spots like the craters on the moon. I would draw her round, the way that Dovewing and Goosefeather are round.

Goosefeather killed her, in this rewrite... not with his paws but, he knew she needed to die. That's what fate dictated, and he follows his visions to the letter. It was a pointless raid, and he knew all along that nothing would be accomplished by attacking WindClan... nothing besides what had to happen.

He resents Bluefur. How she refuses to let things happen, how she doesn't submit to inevitability. She's an insult, refusing to learn that you can't defy fate, and then she shatters it! Proving that everything he's ever done, every sacrifice and commitment he made... was for nothing. He didn't have to obey all along. Do you know how much that hurts?

But anyway, Snowfur.

They say she has gray-tipped ears on the wiki but like, why? Imo she's a blue-point cat, with those same leg-tufts that I put on Bluestar but further up. Blue face, blue ears, blue legs, blue tail, with a pure, dazzling white pelt on the body.

(side note I wish their names had been Snowflower and Bluemoon. Bluemoon is just such a perfect name for Bluestar, man.)

so you know how people are like "TNP makes no sense because why would the message be 'trust tigerkin even if it's against your gut instinct' and then tigerkin betrays him and he was right to be prejudiced all along"?

well here's my proposition:

None of Tigerstar's kits accept to train with him in the dark forest. So he resorts to training other cats, like he did in PO3/OOTS. Who accepts his offer?

Onestar himself, who feels betrayed by Firestar and Tallstar for forcing leadership onto him.

Crowfeather, who wants to have a mate in another clan even if it means destroying the warrior code to start anew (and anyway Tigerstar never told him how drastic the changes they would bring were going to be).

Blackclaw, because that guy is evil and it's not explored enough.

Thornclaw, because he did it in OotS and also he's got potential as a vilain.

Ashfur, "out of concern" for Thunderclan obviously. We start to see his dark side although it's only implied, never clearly stated, that he actually knows what Tigerstar's plan is. He joins them after Squirrelflight rejected him the first time or something.

Longtail. Why him? Because as much as he despises Tigerstar, in the dark forest he can see and he can fight, and he can be a warrior once again. And he yearns for that so much.

Leafpool. Why? Because the story would become "he was so prejudiced against Tigerkin that he didn't realize his own kin was the danger". Her motivation? A place to see Crowfeather without risking to get caught, a chance to learn how to fight for when they will run away together. She starts questionning Starclan after she learns that Mothwing's sign was faked, and Tigerstar just rushed through the cracks of doubt to make them explode.

and probably a few other guys from River, Wind and Shadow idk.

Instead of a swarm of badgers (which... sorry but that was just idiotic) Firestar is lured much earlier to the shore and the foxtrap. By Ashfur saying that Blackclaw is invading their territory for some reason? Or pretending it's Hawkfrost invading, to play on Firestar's paranoia. Firestar is trapped. Blackclaw, Ashfur and Thornclaw are about to kill him. Who comes to his rescue? Mistyfoot, who heard Blackclaw talk in his sleep or followed him or something, and Hawkfrost. The two factions of Riverclan uniting against an internal common ennemy. Tigerkin and Bluekin uniting. Firestar's paranoia being proved unfounded as he discovers that him staring at Hawkfrost only made it easier for Ashfur and Thornclaw to betray him.

Leafpool coming back with Crowfeather because she realized she had left her father to die in hope to gain freedom and she can't sacrifice her kin to her perfect-future plans.

Cinderpelt tries to save Firestar, her former mentor and her leader, but they're so many... Thornclaw tries to swat her aside but her head hits a stone and she dies by the time Leafpool arrives. Much more angsty than "oh yeah a badger killed her ig". She's his sister. His littermate.

Firestar exiles Thornclaw and Ashfur. As the tradition dictates (the fact everyone thought about it in TPB even if it wasn't done eventually means it was some kind of established usage change my mind) they are blinded first. One of them dies but one can be taken in by twolegs and reappear in Bramblestar's Storm when they rescue kittypets from the flood, or in the fourth apprentice with the beavers' patrol since neither Lionblaze nor any other member of the patrol would remember who they are.

Brambleclaw is a somewhat minor character in this arc, exclusively used as Squirrelflight's love interest, while Hawkfrost is first presented as an antagonist (faked the sign for Mothwing, TIgerkin...) but is then revealed to have wandered on the dark side (again, fake sign) but to have taken the active decision to be a good person.

BB!Whitestorm speaks about him like a politician when it comes up. "Brutus was an honorable man," type grindset. He is also a bit older than Tigerpaw, Redpaw, and Spottedpaw. He was just graduating or already a young warrior; Thistleclaw had already given up to focus on Tigerpaw.

Sorreltail, Rainwhisker, and Sootfur consider themselves Whitekin in honor of their father, who considered himself Bluekin.

It would have been wise for Whitestorm to handle Bramblepaw. But unfortunately, Fireheart's paranoia won out.

Thornclaw might have tried it with one of his nespring, had Firestar not utterly punished him for his "mixed clan" stunt. But, circumstances have lead to Tigerkin cats being associated more strongly with inheriting Thistle Law as a legacy.
