Book: Bloodbound (property of Pixelberry Studios) Pairing: Kamilah Sayeed & MC: Amy (I do not own those characters, they're the property of Pixelberry Studios as well) ❗ Warnings: this chapter describes difficult situations / angst / might cause distress ❗ Rating: Mature Author's note:  I'm not a native English speaker, I'm sorry for any mistakes (feel free to correct me).
So here we are, at the end of the story. I'm honestly shocked that this story even has the end, or that I wrote it because... you know... every story has it 😄
From this place, I would like to say thank you to everyone who read this fic and stayed here with me in anticipation of what will happen next. Believe me, for the majority of the time, I was totally clueless about what the next chapters would bring to the story haha 😅
The finale turned out to be probably the longest chapter of all from this fic. I hope you'll enjoy reading it! 💖💖💖
~ 3300 words

Chapter 25 finale
"Why don't you free yourself?" the calming voice woke Amy up, once again.
She opened her eyes to see almost the exact same ones, a little smile was playing in the corner of the woman's mouth in front of her.
"I'm tied up to this stupid chair if you haven't noticed," her company started annoying Amy earlier, but the woman never left.
No matter what.
"Soon enough, all those ferals will spread all over the city, and you're down here, waiting," the woman's voice judgemental.
Amy looked at her own hands and tried to struggle, pulling on the rope. But her attempt ended up with the string driving deeper into her skin, causing more pain.
"I'm too weak," she gave up, tilting her head back, exhausted even after such a little effort.
The woman was staying in front of Amy without doing anything. All she had to do to help her was untying the ropes, cutting them with something sharp.
Instead, she just said out loud.
"Don't give up."
***
"Have you heard the rumors?" Adrian's words were trying to fight their way through Kamilah's thoughts.
It had been almost two weeks since Amy disappeared. They didn't have much progress so far in finding her. Adam left without saying anything, which only confirmed their theory about him being guilty.
But even though their hands were tied up.
If they accused a senator of New York of doing such thing as kidnapping a person without actual proof, no one would ever believe them. They needed to talk to him first, push him into giving himself away, and telling them where he was holding Amy captive.
The next matter they had to take into consideration was that Adam wasn't only a senator of the city. What most important was him, being a well-respected member of the Council and a clan leader. Baseless accusations would cause chaos and make vampires grow suspicious.
Because, why would any vampire be concerned about a human?
Explaining it would require giving up Amy's identity about her being a Bloodkeeper. And that wasn't an option.
"I did, I'm already on the way to his office," Kamilah's voice sharp.
"Please, Kamilah, don't do anything stupid," Adrian's voice showed his deep concern.
But the woman only hung up, driving as fast as she could, heading to Vega's office. Kamilah's source had already told her about his arrival. It was like this man didn't exist for the last few days, unable to find. And now, when he finally decided to step out of shadows, they would have a talk.
Not the most polite one.
Kamilah didn't even bother to wait or ask anyone to let her in. Thanks to her vampire speed, she was standing in front of him within a second.
"Where is she?" her eyes flashing with red from anger.
Adam was in the middle of work, crowded with a stack of papers around him. He stopped writing something down right after the woman walked to his office.
"Can I help you with something, Ms. Sayeed?" he took off his glasses, leaning back on his seat, his expression untouched.
"Yes, you can start by telling me where the hell did you hide her, you..." Kamilah was filled with rage, barely controlling herself.
Vega looked at her with surprise. That was an unusual view to see the great Kamilah Sayeed being attached to someone such weak like a simple mortal.
"That's interesting," his voice calm, as the opposite to hers. "Because, a while ago, I remember having Amy here in my office," he made a pause, taking out some documents from the drawer. "Or, should I say... Amelia."
"If you even touched her, I swear..." Kamilah made a fist out of her hands, using all of her strength to stay in place.
She knew that anger would have no use for Amy at that moment, but the awareness of it didn't stop the rage burning inside her veins. Hearing the girl's name leaving this poisoned mouth made it even harder for her to handle.
"I did way much more than that," Vega smiled, but before the woman jumped to his throat, he put the files before her. "But nothing that she hadn't already agreed on."
Kamilah grabbed the documents, reading them with impossible tempo, taking all the letters, words, sentences, paragraphs of the contract in.
Recognizing Amy's signature at the end of it.
"She didn't..." Kamilah's mouth slightly opened in disbelief.
"She did what she had to do," Adam's mouth curling in a sly smile. "Uphold her end of the deal," he reached for the speaker, a smile never leaving his face. "Be so kind and send here someone who'll show Ms. Sayeed the way to the doors."
Kamilah's eyes had never been before this red, an intense shade of crimson burning inside her iris. She ripped the contract apart with her nails, assuming that Adam showed her only a copy of it.
"You don't know who you're dealing with Vega," icy stare of her eyes. "I will..."
"You will do nothing," he put on his glasses. "And if I may suggest something, I recommend you to leave the city before it gets too hot in here," he looked at her one last time. "I'm saying it as a friend, Kamilah."
"Don't you dare call yourself my friend," she almost yelled.
At that moment, the security entered the room, and not wanting to cause any more scene Kamilah turned around speechless.
She made a promise to herself.
She will not rest until she finds Amy and brings her home.
***
"It's happening."
"How do you know?" Amy's forehead sweating.
It had been hours since Vega left her there. The wounds after needles were finally healed, but she lost a lot of blood until it happened.
"I don't, but you do," the woman looked at her with concern.
Her skin was getting paler with every minute of waiting, acting like she was the reflection of Amy. Like what was happening to both of them was somehow connected.
But what she said was true, Amy was able to feel it inside her chest that something was happening. New York might have been burning or being destroyed by the enormous amount of free ferals running between the buildings. The mindless creatures killing innocents.
And she was still closed there, alone.
Almost alone.
To think that her blood was the key for Vega to build his own empire. The blood that was running inside veins of such useless girl as she was at that moment.
No, it won't end like this, Amy scolded herself in thoughts. She started to struggle again on the chair, pulling on the ropes. With a similar result to her previous attempt.
"Good, keep fighting," the voice echoed next to her, or inside her head, she wasn't sure of that anymore.
That's when Amy started moving her body back and forth, trying to swing the chair. It was actually working, legs of the chair slightly lifting and falling again. But still not enough.
Come on...just... fucking... move, her mind shouted.
Suddenly, the chair lost its balanced, and she fell with it on the ground. The chair broke after meeting with the floor, leaving the girl writhing in pain.
"Amy, get up, you don't have much time," the woman beside her, encouraging her.
Amy sighed loudly and slowly lifted her weak body. Everything before her eyes went blurry, but somehow, she managed to focus on the surroundings, and reach the stairs.
She climbed slowly to the doors, and without much hope, she gripped the door handle.
To her surprise, the doors were left open, and she needed only to give them a little push to see what was hidden behind them.
Freedom.
***
"We need to go now!" Adrian shouted at both women.
The whole city was under evacuation. Everything started in the morning.
At first, there were only speculations from someone seeing a few ferals in unrelated to each other places, which made it look like a coincidence. But then, reports started coming from many clan members and sources that Council had spread all over the city.
It was sure then, they had to call it a crisis.
It made Kamilah, Lily, and Adrian hurry to Vega's office, trying to finally get information about where he kept Amy. Since there was already chaos and panic everywhere, they didn't care anymore about the meaning of his reputation.
But, to their great astonishment, when they got there, the place was filled with ferals. They were sure that Adam did it as a distraction, so anyone would think about him being responsible for the attack.
So that's where they found themselves, fighting those ferals together. Every time it seemed that they were getting closer to win, there was more of them appearing out of nowhere.
"We are outnumbered, we stand no chance with them!" Adrian tried to reason with women once again. "We won't help her by dying here today!"
"Either way, this whole city is gonna burn with everyone in it!" Lily shouted from a different place, getting herself lost in a fight.
"That's why we need to save ourselves," Adrian answered, between ripping heads of several ferals. "Vega must have taken Amy with himself. He wouldn't have left her here to die, he needs her."
Their talk was interrupted by more attackers. Ferals were hissing from every side of the hall, getting closer one by one.
It was the worst type of enemy. They weren't scared of anything, and the only thing responsible for their bloodlust was their instinct. Even seeing one of their own kind getting killed meant nothing for them.
"I know that she..." Kamilah's voice interrupted when she cut through the chest of another feral with her daggers, "...is here. End of discussion!"
One of the ferals came out of nowhere, attacking Kamilah before she even sensed its presence behind. That's when Adrian came with help, killing the creature just in time before it tried to bite her.
"I won't let you die, only because you have an intuition," he sent her a grave look, showing how serious he was about that.
Kamilah was ready to argue with him, but at the same time, something hit her. It was this impossibly intense and tempting smell. It made all of the vampires look at each other meaningfully.
They didn't have to say anything, everyone knew what this scent meant.
"Go get her," Lily said to Kamilah and smiled slyly. "My bro and I will keep those greedy ferals in place a little bit more."
***
Amy went out of the basement, and from that moment, the noise hit her.
Earlier, she wasn't able to hear anything since walls and doors were soundproof. And then, when she escaped from that place, every sound was hitting her brain, making it almost explode from ache.
"Keep going, Amy," the voice behind her pierced through all the noises. "Focus your hearing on what's important."
The girl followed her advice, being able to recognize the sounds, separate them from each other. What the most stood up from all of them was hissing. This characteristic, irritating noise was coming from higher floors of the building she found herself in.
Amy never heard something like that, so she only assumed that it was ferals who made those sounds.
But, there was something else in the noise.
Somehow, maybe subconsciously, Amy heard a deep, feminine voice. The one that she would recognize anywhere.
"Kamilah!" she screamed without thinking, feeling a sudden relief in her chest.
But even though she yelled as loud as she could, nothing happened.
She tried shouting again, but clearly, it wasn't working.
"She can't hear me," Amy leaned her back against the wall, feeling hopeless.
Kamilah didn't hear her, she was lost in the fight. She would probably never know that Amy even was down there. The thought of it made her legs tremble as she slowly sat down on the floor, putting both hands on her sides, trying to steady herself.
That's when her fingertips touched the cold surface, making her move away in surprise. She looked at the floor, noticing shattered glass all over the place. And she knew what to do.
"Please, notice this," Amy whispered to herself.
She cut deep through her wrist, right at the place of her old scar.
Breaking it apart, making blood flow out of her body once again.
***
"Tell me, what has all of this brought you?" a soft voice, the same one never leaving her side.
Amy looked into her eyes, smiling. There was no chance left for her, and the thought of that made her chuckle ironically.
The woman was right. Was it all even worth the effort?
Frustration, pain, constant feeling of fear.
Good memories, friendship, love.
Her head became heavier, breaths were slowing down. She was giving up little by little, drifting away into darkness.
Her body couldn't take much more.
She didn't want to fight more.
"Amy," the young woman tried to wake her up, but the girl's eyes were closed.
"Amy," another attempt.
"Amy!" the voice sounded different, waking her up immediately.
She didn't see the blonde girl in front of her anymore. No, the view was way much more gorgeous. She quickly recognized the features she knew so well, eyes that she kept looking into so many times, completely mesmerized.
The definition of pure perfection.
"Kamilah," Amy smiled weakly, barely believing in what was happening. She looked around, searching for the woman that accompanied her earlier. "Where is she?"
"Where is who?" Kamilah already healed Amy's wound, stopping the bleeding.
"This woman... she was here," Amy's voice was shaky. "She helped me."
"Amy..." those chestnut eyes were showing so much concern. "You must be mistaken. There was no one except you when I got here."
How...Amy's brain started working, reminding itself all the moments during which she was talking to this woman. The woman with blonde, wavy hair, light skin, green eyes.
How she spoke to her, with the exact same voice that was leaving Amy's mouth every time she said something. How she was looking at her with the same eyes, feeling the same emotions.
"Oh my god," Amy looked at Kamilah when the solution hit her. "It was me."
It was me all this time, she said to herself, shocked when she finally understood the message behind the vision.
"Amy, you lost too much blood," Kamilah tried to lift her, but the girl disobeyed. It made the woman frown with misunderstanding, "I need to take you from here as soon as it's possible, it's not safe."
But the girl looked like she didn't want to be saved, the view making Kamilah's heart to break in half. She was looking at this person, and she couldn't recognize her anymore. There was no light in her green eyes.
Not in the way like it was before.
"How bad is it?" Amy asked her, smile fading away from her face. "Tell me, Kamilah, how bad is it, is there any chance to fight it?"
The vision of herself hit her again, the memory when her own eyes turned red.
"No," Kamilah kneeled down, close to the girl. "Adrian and Lily are upstairs, they are trying to keep the ferals away, but there are no more vampires left in the city," her voice broke, "only humans."
Amy closed her eyes for a moment, she was aware of what needed to happen next. She knew that Kamilah would not be able to get her out of there, not when Amy was in this state.
And at least one of them should have a chance to make it out alive.
"You need to fight them all," Amy looked at her, holding her by the cheek because Kamilah was avoiding her eyes. She knew what was coming before she even heard the words. "You need to fight them all, save the city."
"Even if we tried, that's impossible," the woman placed her hand over Amy's, feeling her cold skin that caused shudders down her spine.
"Of course it's impossible on your own, silly," Amy chuckled, a single tear escaping her eye. "That's why you have me."
"Amy...don't," Kamilah couldn't take it.
There was no need to go back to the night of their argument. No need to say the words of apology, when they understood each other without them. This night was just a meaningless episode, nothing compared to what they felt toward each other.
And Amy already made her decision about their future fate.
She freed her hand from Kamilah's grip and neared her wrist to the vampire's mouth.
"With my blood, you can do this," she spoke aloud, keeping herself calm.
"It will kill you," Kamilah's eyes filling with tears, the view breaking Amy's heart into million pieces. "You lost too much blood for this..."
"Take what's left," Amy interrupted. "Take all of it," she smiled reassuringly, "all of me with you."
Tears escaped Kamilah's eyes and flew down her cheeks without control. She knew that what Amy had in mind would work. That this was the only way to save those innocent people. Maybe even the only one to save Adrian and Lily.
Drinking Bloodkeeper's blood would make her impossibly powerful, it would stand for enough time for her to kill all the ferals.
But it was Amy's blood.
It was her Amy who they were talking about, and Kamilah didn't know if she was ready for such a sacrifice.
"Hey," Amy sensed her pain. "It's ok, it's my choice, I'm ok with it."
"I'm not," Kamilah's voice shaky.
"Kamilah..." Amy didn't hold back tears anymore. "I trust you...I...I love you more than anyone in my life."
The woman froze in place, she wasn't expecting to hear such words. She didn't expect to hear them at all, and for sure not under such circumstances.
She opened her mouth slightly, wanting to say something, but Amy didn't let her.
"Don't say anything," the girl smiled a little. "You'll tell me when all of it will be over," her hope was killing them both from the inside. "You can be sure that I won't let you forget about it," Amy smiled weakly.
"Of course, you won't," Kamilah returned the smile, looking at her with love in her eyes, trying to be brave.
She leaned down to Amy's lips, placing a soft kiss on them.
This one last time.
When she stepped back, they shared a meaningful look, ready for what's to come.
Kamilah took Amy's wrist up to her own mouth. Her fangs grew out from her teeth, but this time it wasn't accompanied by any intoxicating feeling.
After a moment of hesitation, she finally did what she hated the most at that moment.
She bit through the soft surface of her skin.
Blood started floating down her throat, but its taste brought no pleasure. Kamilah's body was growing more powerful, her skin was glowing. Every cell, nerve, muscle in her body was waking up alive.
But all she felt was the pain.
Like she was dying all over again.
For this whole time, they were looking into each other's eyes.
As life from one was flowing to another.
Amy kept a reassuring smile on her face as long as she could, trying to give the woman courage. To help her get through this. Even if she was the one from whom the life was escaping with every minute.
After a while, her eyes closed up, and all she was hearing was her heartbeat, dangerously slowing down.
At first, she felt pain, then the ache changed into pure exhaustion that was mixed with relief.
Sounds around her mixed with each other, leaving silence behind.
Until the very last drop of blood left Amy's body.
And there was nothing more for her to feel in this life.
***
One thing was clear,
Amy was dead.
And who would have guessed...
That when you die,
Your heart can beat stronger than ever before.

Fragile heart
Pairings: KamilahxMC
Kamilah lurched towards Amy with fury in her eyes as her hands wrapped around her neck.
The woman she loves dearly is controlled by that monster, she couldn't bear the sight.
Kamilah smiled, she actually enjoyed squeezing Amy's throat tight.
"You want to see true power child? You want to see what i am capable of?" Rheya smirked
"Kill her." Two words, it took two words for Kamilah to follow so quickly it was almost like a nightmare.
"Ka..mi..lah" she tried to speak but Kamilah's grip tightened around her neck, all the air abandoned her lungs.
Closing her eyes Amy wanted to accept her fate, fresh tears ran down her cheeks at the thought that Kamilah wasn't her anymore, she was a murderous tool.
But then a bolt of physic power came out of her sending all her friends even Rheya flying back.
"What..what was that?" Adrian said holding his head in pain
Rheya hissed trying to get up, but another wave of power sent her to the ground groaning with fury.
"I..that.." Kamilah looked at her hands shaking at what just happened.
Amy took a step back scared, terrified.
"We need to get out of her now!!" Kamilah commanded as they all ran to the car
Amy got behind the wheel even her hands were still shaking, still feeling the power running through her veins. Before the mansion become a blur she saw Rheya from the mirror mouthing ' see you soon ' , a wave of terror ran down her spine but she tried to fight it.
"Is everyone ok?" Amy asked concerned but everyone looked uncomfortable and uneasy
"It doesn't matter how we are, are you?" Jax stiffened on his seat punching the car door so hard that the metal broke.
Lily looked lost at the window, a sad frown on her face Amy never saw before.
Adrian hummed in thought angrily probably blaming himself
"I cant believe that bitch controlled our minds" Jax made his hands into fists but Adrian calmed him by putting a sympathetic hand on his shoulder.
"God Amy i cant believe we almost.." Lily tried to say but her words were interrupted by a sob
Everyone was so heartbroken by the fast they almost killed someone they deeply cared about, but most of all Kamilah was the one who hurt the most, given the fact she is in love with Amy.
Words at this point weren't meaningful so she just placed her hand on Amy's thigh giving her a faint smile
A touch. It was a normal thing they did. A touch, a single small stroke was enough to trigger her horror once more.
Amy's grip tightened around the steering wheel as her eyes widened. All she could see was Kamilah's smile as she was choking her to death.
"No..no..no" she kept repeating losing control over the car.
Kamilah was quick to stabilise it "Amy? Are you alright?"
She gained consciousness again taking control of the car, tears running down her cheek.
They arrived at the airport. As they pulled up everyone left the car knowing they needed a moment alone.
An awkward silence followed as Amy rested her head on the steering wheel sobbing.
Kamilah stroked her back sympathetically. She hated herself of how easily Rheya controlled her soul, making her wanting to hurt Amy, her love. The one who didn't hesitate to sacrifice herself for her and her friends. How could she ever look at her the same now?
Amy's shoulders tensed at the touch. The touch that once was confronting is now scary, awful. She cant shake off the fact that Kamilah would actually kill her if her powers didn't stop her.
The thought made her tremble, pushing Kamilah's hand away.
"Please dont touch me.." she whispered with pain in her voice
Kamilah stared at her, she didn't look surprised she knew Amy was in pain
"Amy i am so sorry"
"I know it wasn't you but..you should have seen the way you looked at me.." no matter what she said nothing could put into words the feeling she felt
She knew no matter what she said it wouldn't matter anymore after tonight's events. So she just sat back on the seat signing
She didn't want these hands anymore. The very same that killed so many innocent people. The ones that lead wars and touched Gaius, the man who murdered Amy. And on top of that the very same that wanted to kill her lover.
Amy reached for the handle of her door but Kamilah's voice interrupted her
"I love you.." she said lower than a whisper, a sad tone entered her voice
For a moment Amy felt paralyzed, for just a second her mouth opened in surprise, her heart pounding.
She wanted to hear those three words for as long as she could remember but somehow it didn't touch her heart
"Can you repeat what you just said?" Amy asked focused on Kamilah's lips.
Taking a deep breath she cleared her throat and repeat loud and clear "I love you Amy"
She didn't asked her to repeat because she didn't listen to her, she wanted to feel those words, to be happy, to cry in her hug and tell her how much she loves her as well but she stayed silent and still.
Kamilah frowned sadly "If you dont feel the sa--"
"No, i do Kamilah i wanted to hear these words a long time now"
A relieved sign escaped her lips
"But..i..the way you..you wanted to kill me..you.." all the memories of this night hit her like a thunderstorm making her unable to speak.
Quickly she got out of the car walking towards the jet, her eyes filled with tears for all the unsaid words she wanted to share with the love of her life.
Kamilah punched the seat next to her hard before tears threatened to escape her eyes.
"Stupid..stupid..you are stupid!!" she kept repeating punching a hole into the leather.
Amy stopped her tracks when a sudden realisation hit her. There wasn't any sure possibilities of them getting out of this alive. Turning around she ran to Kamilah meeting her halfway.
Kamilah's eyes widened when Amy wrapped her arms around her neck and kissed her deeply. Suddenly all the pain, all the terror and fear melted away.
"I love you too" she whispered in her ear making her smile so wide it actually hurt.
They kissed again, and again, forgetting the world forgetting the chaos around them, and that exact moment Amy knew, there was where she belonged.

The door clicked shut as Amy closed the door to her room, Rheya already moving to her bedroom as the younger vampire slid her shoes off.
“You did wonderful today, my darling,” Rheya purred. A sight to behold, as expected of the Mother of Vampires, fully naked and drenched in blood. Amy merely spared an empty glance at the former priestess, before proceeding to shed off her blood-soaked clothes and wash it off in the bathroom.
Amy felt a hand tugging on her wrist but didn’t bother to respond to the touch. She didn’t feel like communicating with the world in general.
So she decided to send her words through her powers, a small whisper in Rheya’s mind. What is it?
“Is there something wrong, my dear?” Rheya might look and sound worried for her, but Amy knew she was nothing more than a woman who was isolated for over 3000 years and needed to understand how the current world runs.
She might have lost her betrothed long ago, and Amy is the descendant of her own daughter, but nothing could compare to the loss that now wrecked inside her vulnerable, vampire body. A large wound scored across her chest, Amy couldn’t tap on her well of emotions at the moment.
How did she felt? Sadness. Devastation. Hopelessness. An ale tankard’s worth of anger and rage. A whole universe’s worth of emptiness that could not be healed and filled up again.
Amy slowly eased Rheya’s hand off her wrist and gave an empty look to the naked woman on her bed, sending words through that bridge formed between them. I would like some time alone if you don’t mind. I need to clear my head.
Understanding filled Rheya’s eyes, and Amy tried her best to push past the guttered look in her predator-bright eyes. “As you wish, dear. I will be at my mansion if you need me.”
The amber-haired woman didn’t send words through her powers, instead ducking into her bathroom and braced her arms against the sink. When she raised her head to see her reflection in her mirror, she ran her red eyes over her face. Despite being nocturnal, the dark circles under her eyes weren’t doing it any justice, and her eyebrows just felt so heavy to even raise them.
Her amber coloured, messy half up-do was slightly unkempt and soaked with blood, along with the lower half of her face and nearly her whole body. As much as it smells more alluring than any wine, Amy felt like she wanted to puke right now. She needed to get all this blood off of her body, stat.
Then, she saw—thought she saw her reflection warp. Her hair was now moon-white, with two smaller braids with different lengths, which reminded her of a dreamcatcher’s feathers, tied at the left side of her head starting from above the shell of her ear. There was a strong hint of red and purple eyeshadow around her eyes, which brought them out more due to her pale complexion. On top of that, there was a chain that ran across her face and hung onto her ears and a scar down her right eye and a cut on her lower lip.
Despite not smiling herself, Amy’s reflection grinned wickedly, causing Amy’s eyes to widen.
Please stop it now
She shook her head and reopened her eyes, seeing herself in the mirror again. Not wanting to ‘hallucinate’ any further, she picked up the pace and turned on the hot water and let it seep into her skin, into her hair that would wash away the coppery tang of the blood and the slight stickiness on her pale skin.
Out of nowhere, she felt something—or someone, lurking in the bathroom. A presence, not a physical body.
As the night makes me blind
You snuck in again
A ghost of sinister chuckling followed. Amy wanted to believe that it was just her body’s response to being drained of all emotions in a single night.
You lick around my ears while I’m asleep, stare,
Then you scratch and laugh
Amy watched the red of the blood cloud the clear water on the floor. Watched the colours swirl together, no doubt making her stand in a red sea of some sorts.
She heard it again.
That sinister chuckling, and what felt like a finger tracing her jawline from her back.
She shouldn’t be scared of it. That might be just amongst the chorus of voices in her head, lingering from the PTSD she had after she was killed. No—it was different. It sounded like her own voice, laughing softly behind her back.
Your voice whispers endlessly
Oh you’re the bad dream kill
Amy decided to scrub harder at her skin. As if the extra effort could erase all the events that had happened prior to coming back home. But no—it couldn’t. No matter how hard she scrubbed at her hair, her body, nothing could erase that beautiful face wrecked with sadness and devastation from her mind.
Those swirl of emotions couldn’t move past each other so Amy couldn’t remember who that painstakingly beautiful woman was. Her name…
Her name.
She felt her pent up anger building up and immediately clenched her fists tight and shut her eyes closed with that same pressure.
Deep breaths, Amy. Deep breaths. It’s okay, you’re going to be—
“…no, I’m not fine…” Her words were near guttural, feeling the pricking of her fangs on her lower lip.
She felt something thicker than water trickling down her fingers, and that familiar coppery tangy scent filled the room. The skin at her nails knitted themselves back together, and the water washed the blood away as nothing happened.
Amy needed to get out of her apartment, stat.
You keep possessing and calling me
To come to where you are, yes to come to you
Stepping out of her immensely suffocating bathroom, Amy was relieved to notice Rheya’s absence, better without a powerful ancestor in her apartment, more specifically in her bedroom. Sliding open her wardrobe doors, she picked out a full monochrome ensemble; a dark grey turtleneck sweater, a black leather jacket, black skinny jeans and a pair of black vans.
Once she was satisfied, Amy took a deep breath and stepped out of her windows, silent and unseen, leaping into the silent night.
You say you know me? (I don’t think so)
Who are you to snuggle in (I don’t think so)
You cover my eyes (I don’t think so)
You cover up the truths (I don’t think so)
It was definitely a hindrance when she awoke from the dead for barely a week and she had to race against two other experienced vampires by leaping from building to building, but now that it was becoming part of her daily routine, she became better at it. Using the momentum, she did flips between buildings and all sorts of stunts to get the energy out of her system.
Finding herself in the familiar path, Amy decided to head towards the building her heart desired. Not her mind. It definitely wasn’t in the right state to bear all of the pain she was going to feel once she reached. Don’t even mention her heart. Such a versatile organ but yet something so fragile.
Deciding that it wasn’t the best decision to break into the CEO’s office (yet), Amy landed to a stop on the rooftop of the Ahmanet Financial Building. The last time she was here, it was where she had taken the initiative to kiss that woman first. That woman, who was a tough shell to crack.
She who had decided to let her in of her own accord.
She…
Amy reached into her mind, struggling past the jumble of emotions and thoughts in her mind which was preventing her from thinking straight and have clearer thoughts—
Let go of the empty dreams (I don’t think so)
Don’t make me spit out the poison (I don’t think so)
You’ll never have me again (I don’t think so)
Shut up and go away
A wave of agony crashed into her head with turbulence. It seemed that whenever she tried to remember her name, all that would come out would be a headache, or worse, migraines. She had been lost in her emotions that she couldn’t remember who her significant other was.
Yes. She had been her lover. The love of her life. The one who had that tough eggshell to crack and finally let her in. The only human she’d ever accepted back then.
“Adrian finds solace in the company of others. I find it in solitude.”
Amy’s eyes drifted to the pool next to her.
“Swimming here alone, under the stars…it brings me peace.”
“But you invited me up here,” Amy pointed out.
Kamilah looked at the young woman pointedly, “So I did.”
Thousand nights, I repeated so many times
A vicious cycle of nightmares, I’ll end it now
As Amy stripped out of her clothes, she heard her own voice drift to her vampiric ears, with a heightened sense of hearing.
“Hey, Amy…”
The turned-off exit light
Get away from me now
The water lapped at her arms as she slowly sunk into the depths of the pool. She allowed the cool and calming waters to seep into her skin, the lazy waves of her amber hair. If only the memories could wash away just like the water does to Amy.
She knew she couldn’t turn back time. But her, with so much power, she should have that power to turn back time. Back to the first generation of Bloodkeepers, and end them. So that none of this would happen.
But yet…
I’m sick of it
“You try so hard to play the big, bad villain. But your heart’s never been in it, has it?”
Ha! It’s enough
All the gibberish on my ear Imma let it blow
She felt a hand on her bare shoulder, as if her own self was just right next to her ear, deftly speaking those words.
“People have hurt you, haven’t they? They didn’t believe in you… They didn’t trust you… didn’t need you… left you.”
Amy swivelled her head to hiss and bare her fangs, but only stopped to find the reflection of herself that she saw in the bathroom mirror smirking wickedly at herself.
My five senses are focused on it, on edge
You come in and stir it up recklessly
“But did you ever stop to think… ” Dark-Amy tapped her chin thoughtfully. “…maybe they’re not the problem?”
Sure, it was her fault. Her fault that Rheya had returned because of everything that had happened with Gaius. Her fault that she had to be Turned because she was so important to a vampire who had loved and lost so much that she couldn’t bear to lose Amy. Her fault that she had to be a Bloodkeeper and that only amplified her powers after she became a vampire—
Amy riled for a punch at her alternate self. “Stop…stop it!”
Her reflection rippled as Amy’s fist passed through, leaving a gaping hole through her chest, but the image shifted, stitching herself back together.
Dark-Amy mused. “Whoa! I didn’t know that this would get a rise out of you, but still…”
Amy pulled back her hand, sinking further back into the water. “When Serafine told me that there was a darkness in me… it was you, wasn’t it?”
“I’m surprised that it took this long for you to find out, Amy,” Dark-Amy examined her midnight-black fingernails, clicking her tongue. “I guess now that we’re vampires, everything seems clearer, doesn’t it?”
When I fall asleep with one eye open
You permeate without a sound, the phantom
Amy rolled her eyes, crossing her arms and eyed her alternate form. “What do you want from me?”
“While you tried to keep me low, I’ve obviously heard what you told Rheya and everything that had happened prior to us coming back to the apartment complex. I was just having my fun at the opera house when you and your doing-good decided to ruin the party.”
Amy only winced in return, then muttered, “I… I don’t wanna talk about it.”
Shadows curling around her body in tendrils, whisking away into the late night, Dark-Amy perched on top of one of the sun-tanning chairs along the edge of the pool and crossed her legs. “You just keep running away from reality, don’t you?” She sighed.
“There’s already one Rheya,” Amy grumbled. “We don’t need another one in New York City.”
I’m so sick and tired of it
When the light turns on, I hope you’re gone
“You, however,” Dark-Amy jutted a finger at Amy’s chest. “Are different from her. Because you are a do-gooder.”
“But—”
“Don’t you dare ‘but’ me, Ashryver,” Amy could see her dark self’s different coloured eyes; white on the right and the same cerulean blue of her own on the left. “We’re 23 years old and that beautiful hag is 3 centuries older than you. Of course you—we—can make a difference.”
You say it’s for me? (I don’t think so)
Who are you to snuggle in (I don’t think so)
Permeating deeply (I don’t think so)
I’m confused (I don’t think so)
“How?” Amy questioned.
Dark-Amy rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, huffing. “Do I really need to tell you, Ames? You have to accept me in order to keep moving on.”
The darkness. That was what she meant.
Amy swallowed past the lump that was formed in her throat. She knew what would happen if she’d succumb to the darkness that was lying dormant inside of her. That woman had told her of the countless horrors that she had to undergo because of the darkness that blinded her and soaked her in the blood which could metaphorically not be washed away.
What would happen to her if she were to do the same? Would she be the same person the others had seen her before Rheya came along and manipulated them at her whims?
“I just don’t know if I’m capable enough to do so,” Amy shrugged. She disappeared beneath the shimmering surface and reappeared a few metres away from the edge where she was sitting at with Dark-Amy. She slicked back her hair with a hand. “After all, I’m pretty much a baby still in vampire years. Most of my heart is still human.”
Take whatever (I don’t think so)
Don’t even be seen (I don’t think so)
You’ll never have me again (I don’t think so)
Stop your obsession
The shadows curling around Dark-Amy’s body twisted and receded, somehow as if in amusement. She stood up from her seat and walked across the surface of the water, before dropping to sit with her legs underneath her.
“You doubt yourself too much,” she scoffed, cracking her white coloured eye open. “I bet you hadn’t review what amazing shit you did in this past year after dragging yourself into this rabbit hole.”
Amy and the others had found the truth of who was behind the increase of Feral attacks last summer. She and the crew managed to beat the shit out of Gaius into the new Tree of Eternal Life. And also defeated a rogue group of vampires who were terrorizing both humans and vampires alike.
That was indeed a lot that she had managed to accomplish in almost a year, but it…didn’t feel enough to feel like it was a big deal.
Dark-Amy raised her hands in defence. “I’m not as bad as you would portray me to be, I’m not all those power-hungry bitches like a certain old hag we know. I’m part of you, which means your do-good would influence what I do as well.”
Thousand nights, I repeated so many times
A vicious cycle of nightmares, I’ll end it now
Amy chuckled softly, eyeing her duplicate. “Really?”
She groaned. “Spare me from the doing-good part please, it doesn’t go well with my personality and fashion choice, talk about resume too.”
“Like I will, you’re pretty unwilling.”
Dark-Amy’s lip ring glistened under the moonlight, small chains dangling from the rings. “Why did Adrian even hire you as his assistant where you could be a comedian like that comedian-turned-scriptwriter…what was his name again?”
Amy rolled her eyes in amusement. “Seth Levine?”
“Ah, yes,” Dark-Amy said. “But you get what I mean.”
The light version of herself looked away and stared at the horizon beyond these tall city buildings of New York. Of what it could be if everything was resolved. If everyone wasn’t under Rheya’s control, and most importantly, in her advantage.
“But…” Amy contemplated. “It feels like it’s a lot to take in. I’ve never let the darkness take over me like that. I’ve already heard countless stories of other people sharing to me their experiences. Makes my skin crawl.”
Dark-Amy laughed gruffly, before ruffling the top of Amy’s wet hair. “You’re just making excuses.”
The turned-off exit light
Get away from me now
Amy chuckled softly, a small smile tugging at the end of her lips. “You really aren’t that evil, a broody duplicate of me, huh?”
The white-haired woman mimicked barfing, smacking Amy’s bare back. “Please don’t. And also can you please get back into your clothes? You’re gonna catch a cold and we’re gonna be one step behind in trying to stop Rheya.”
After much convincing, Amy was dried off with one of the towels lying behind the bar and back into her dry clothes and standing next to her supposed ‘evil’ doppelganger. Both of them stared down at the New York City nightlife.
“So you’ve been lying in all of the Bloodkeepers of all of my ancestors?”
“Pretty much,” Dark-Amy had her arms dangling over the railings. “I would only be awakened if any of them happened to be Turned into vampires, which in that case, didn’t happen until you. You’re the first Bloodkeeper to be Turned.”
“That’s why when my blood and hers fused…”
“You became Rheya’s equal,” Dark-Amy finished her sentence. “That’s why she wanted you specifically out of your quintet. She keeps saying you’re special, it’s because you’re her equal.”
That darkness. The one standing right next to her, it also blinded Rheya and thus straying her from the path to justice when she had claimed that she didn’t want to rule as a Goddess over Mydiea just as how the late King Kaelisus did. In the end, she still did, until her demise in what would be formally known as the Tomb of the First.
“If you accept me,” Dark-Amy said, still looking down at the streets. “Your mind will be cleared and you’ll be able to remember things… the people whom you deeply care for.”
That beautiful woman crossed her mind again. But without a headache this time.
Amy turned to face Dark-Amy squarely with resolution. Without hesitation.
“Alright, I’ll accept you.”
“Good, then take my hand.”
The shadows coiling and shifting around her arm seemed to grow stronger as Amy reached her hand forward. “Remember, relax as I merge myself with you. If you happen to hesitate or lose focus, I would only feed on your fear, anger and… you know the consequences already.”
Amy didn’t need her to mention it twice. She’d heard enough.
“Alright, then hang on tight, me.”
Blacken my heart,
Creepin’ dark night,
Stainin’ my soul
When I open my eyes like yet I’m still asleep,
Amy felt overwhelmed immediately as her darkness converged on her senses like a stampede, but there was a constant calm presence, probably from her doppelganger, soothing her nerves as the process took place.
She could feel the dark aura coiling around her limbs, her torso, its tendrils an anchor to hold her down. Then, the change came. She felt it; in the roots of her hair, the muscles in her body, and her five senses all returning, but clearer.
Amy was then brought to a white coloured space, with Dark-Amy on her opposite end, shadows curling in tendrils off her body as usual.
There were images—memories—floating around them. Her memories, all from the day where Amy had first met Adrian Raines for the job interview. And there was her first meeting… with what would be the former Council members, Lester Castellanos, and her.
Amy still couldn’t bring herself to remember her name.
“Your emotions are still in the way of your memories,” Dark-Amy’s voice echoed, but yet she didn’t speak verbally. “Allow me to resolve that for you.”
Amy closed her eyes and braced herself for the impending wave of darkness that came at her.
The sudden goosebumps and its clear traces,
And the names on the ground that are owned by no one
Call out, dance tonight
Say it what you like
She felt a dark presence worming into her head again, and a memory flashed before her eyes.
Amy was back in the conference room again, and she peered into the box that held two gifts from Adrian to his fellow Council members. She picked up the bejewelled scarab and faced toward the woman.
Then, the words just rolled off her tongue of familiarity.
“This scarab is for Kamilah Sayeed.”
The image shifted again.
The times we were
Happy together, I know
They were in Kamilah’s apartment, with the former carrying Amy in her arms in a spin as they laughed happily. As they slowed down, they came together in a passionate kiss as Kamilah dipped her low, when Amy noticed the gleaming bands on each of their left ring fingers.
This wasn’t a memory. This was a vision of the future.
I have to end them now
Forget everything yeah
God before she could even relish herself in the small moment of happiness, she was wrenched back to reality again.
As the blinding light receded, her first instinct was to reach her lower lip, where the cold metal of Dark-Amy’s lip ring laid pierced through her flesh. A hand through her hair confirmed that it was not her amber-coloured hair but moon-white instead. And her sleeves and pants definitely felt tighter than before. Must be the increase in muscle definition.
She also felt much looser than she was an hour ago. No more strained muscles, tight knots in her back. No more migraines and headaches.
It all happened in a blink, barely giving her any time to react.
As her hand reached out to catch a familiar ornate dagger which whirred towards her back.
Amy’s eyes sank into the intricate patterns of the metal hilt, as they disappeared into the silver blade. The ruby engraved on top of the hilt gleamed under the moonlight as she ran the cold, sharpened blade along her tongue, spinning on one heel to face the owner of the dagger.
Lavender, laced with cedarwood. That was what her scent was. She committed it to memory, ever since she was Turned. She took advantage of her heightened sense of smell to commit her beloved’s scent to memory. It was engraved in her mind.
“Amy?”
You say you know me? (I don’t think so)
Who are you to snuggle in (I don’t think so)
You cover my eyes (I don’t think so)
You cover up the truths (I don’t think so)
Kamilah Sayeed’s hostile expression immediately morphed into that of wariness, disbelief and shock. “I heard a faint heartbeat from my office and footsteps as well. I thought it was an intruder, considering it being out in the open, but I didn’t expect it to be you.”
Amy chuckled, tossing her now white hair behind her shoulder as she flicked her wrist where her hand held the dagger. It was as if her dark counterpart was taking the reins of her body. Since she trusted her from the conversation they’ve had and how tired she was, Amy trusted her to take over for a while.
“You shouldn’t be here, Kamilah,” sadness and fatigue filtered into her tone. “Not after what happened tonight.”
“I’m real, Amy. I’m here.”
Let go of the empty dreams (I don’t think so)
Don’t make me spit out the poison (I don’t think so)
You’ll never have me again (I don’t think so)
Shut up and go away
Amy shook her head. “How am I supposed to know that you’re being manipulated by her?” She lied. “How am I supposed to know that you worship me more than you do to her?”
Kamilah Sayeed wasn’t with her. She clearly saw and felt what happened at the opera house. Amy nearly puked while remembering the sea of crimson red which coated the seats and the stage and basically…everywhere.
Even if she could still feel the long years of Kamilah’s life still wrapped around her.
Thousand nights, I repeated so many times
A vicious cycle of nightmares, I’ll end it now
Kamilah opened her arms. “That’s for you to find out.”
The turned-off exit light
Get away from me now
“No, no, no, no, no…” Amy felt her chest starting to get tighter, her breath coming in short as she tried to stabilise herself. “No… you aren’t real. I saw what happened… I killed everyone, because… no…” A growl escaped her throat as she struggled to fight back her tears.
Amy suddenly hated the way that sadness and pain, filled her hazel brown eyes. She should be the one feeling those. She was sure she didn’t see things.
She was still hyperventilating, murmuring under her breath still as she hurriedly turned on her heel to leap off the rooftop, but a pair of strong arms managed to hold her in place.
There was that scent again. Intoxicating and inviting.
“Get…away…from me,” Amy resisted, growling through gritted teeth. “Get…away from me!”
Kamilah still didn’t let go as Amy thrashed harder this time, bellowing.
“Let me go!”
One night what I saw in the darkness
Was the strange shadow that chased me after
“Amy!” She heard her darkness calling out to her in her ears, ringing like church bells. “You have to stop resisting. I already ran my aura over her, and she’s here for good, not under Rheya’s orders!”
No… I know how Rheya hides the fact that she manipulates people. Kamilah died right in front of my eyes. This… this isn’t real, it must be a ruse to get me sabotaged.
“Please, Amy, habibti,” Kamilah whispered softly into Amy’s hair. “I promise I’m not here to hurt you. Please… “
“Amy, you have to listen to her. I already know that she’s speaking the truth, now it’s just you who has to believe her.”
The turned-on exit light
It’s me looking at myself in the mirror
Hot tears were already streaming down Amy’s cheeks as she thrashed and screamed in Kamilah’s arms, with the latter’s cheek pressed to the top of Amy’s head with her eyes closed.
As if she already knew that everything would be okay.
Get away from me
“Get away from me!” Amy screamed, her voice rasping with a choked sob. “Please… I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Nonsense, you would never,” Kamilah said. “Because you know who you care for, Amy Ashryver.”
Disappear
Her full name seemed to awaken her, as her screams and cries of protest slowly died down, sinking slowly into the older woman’s arms.
Get away from me
As she broke down completely into Kamilah Sayeed’s embrace.

I was watching the shores managing my sandy blonde hair brushing my face when I heard an almost familiar voice “Alone?”
I looked around; there she stood, an enchanting woman in her thirties. Silky auburn hair and deep brown eyes reflecting the warmth of the sun as she stared at me. Those eyes had a unique colour, a mix of light and dark. She smiled with a gentle one sided grin, her beauty was one which I thought was only possible in fairytales. I was undoubtedly consumed; her smile felt like home, a home I hadn’t found yet, but I felt surprisingly calm.
There was a moment of hesitation before I replied “I love watching the ocean and I also love to watch it alone”.
With her brown eyes fixed on me, she walked towards me; I could smell her sweet floral perfume. My senses were overwhelming, feeling drunk with every word and movement this stranger made. I’ve been single for a decade, and now this woman is standing by my side, almost with a look of hope and affection?
“Do you want to swim in the ocean?” she asked.
“You just heard me, I love to watch the ocean and that too alone”, denial seeping through every word.
“Yes, I know you said that” she replied, the grin never leaving her lips.
I have no idea why I glanced down at myself, but my thoughts were quickly interrupted as she began, “You look tender and beautiful, I love your eyes. You have doe eyes. The eyeliner rimming your eyes makes them stand out so much more. You nev-”.
I was dazed and didn’t notice how she abruptly cut herself off, anger took over “So you were watching me?”
“I watch you every day, it’s only today that you noticed me”, she smiled.
“Do you know it’s a crime to stalk people? Yet you are here, speaking to me like you know me. All I have to do is scream. What do you want?” I tried to sound as intimidating as possible, but for some reason I didn’t feel like I was in danger - I felt like I was in the safest place in the world. I was excited, confused and all I could think is how was my loneliness so obvious? How could she could read my mind? She knew what I wanted/felt before I did.
“Let’s get into the water”, before I could speak and without any warning she dragged me to the sea.
Her hand moved to the small of my back; a touch which I had forgotten which made me rigid until I felt like my body tremble as she pushed me in the water.
“I don’t know how to swim, I’ll drown” I shrieked
She took me in her arms, “Easy, easy I am here”. I could feel her heartbeat pounding in her chest as our bodies were pressed together. I felt like my will was bending, why am I so comfortable with a stranger who has been “watching” me? Surely, alarm bells should be going off. This is what horror movies are made of and a normal person would feel like they were about to get murdered! Yet, it was the opposite and her eyes were a quiet comfort.
As I clutched her tightly, she dipped me several times in the salty water. The water passed my throat as she moved her face inches from mine, her gaze was intense until she pressed her full lips on mine.
Startled, I pushed her back although I wanted more, “What are you doing????”
“I…I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself, I know it takes ti—”, once again she cut herself off, but again I didn’t notice. My mind was in hyperdrive, trying to make sense of the encounter and my irregular feelings.
As we walked back to the shore, my wet clothes began cutting through my skin but again I was…content.
“I watch you every night, every night you come and look out at the sea. I’m not a stalker, I know you Amy” she protectively wrapped her arms around me. I loved her touch and I basked in the warmth. I stayed quiet hoping she would tell me more but instead she whispered in my ear, “Drink?”
“What?! You want to come to mine?”
“Yes, I do, is that ok my-”, her voice was much softer and her smile melted my heart.
Am I in love with this woman? A stranger who has been stalking me, no, “watching me”? What’s wrong with me? I’m not desperate but, it seems I’ve lost all self control.
“It’s bliss having a place next to the beach. You have amazing taste”
“How do you know where I live?”
“I know everything about you, and I know you love me”, she smiled pulling me closer to her.
Time seemed to freeze when she cupped my face and drew me in to a passionate kiss until we were both gasping for air. Breathing heavy, I searched her eyes, recognition slowly seeping through, “K-Ka-milah?”
Her eyes glistened as a bright smile graced her beautiful face, “Please tell me you remember? These fleeting moments are getting rare, I need to know you are still in there. I lo-“
She stopped herself as she saw the confusion on my face, “Where’s Adrian? Do I need to help you with something? I thought you weren’t interested in any kind of relationship but no one as ever kissed me like that”.
The rest of the walk to my house was filled with silence. I could tell Kamilah was holding back as she bit down nervously on her bottom lip. My fingers were trembling so much that I couldn’t unlatch the door. Her fingers glided gently up my hand as she took the keys and opened the door.
She locked the door behind me and as I took my shoes off, my gaze fell on a photo of us both…in elegant wedding dresses. A gasp left my lips as everything came flooding back, hot tears came streaming down as I took Kamilah in my arms and squeezed for dear life. “I’m so sorry I didn’t remember sooner, how long do we have? It’s been years and you still find me every night on the beach? I love you so much”
“My love, I’ll be here to the very end. You are my life and it breaks my heart every day knowing there’s nothing I can do to stop this. I don’t know how long we have, but anything you want, anything you need - you’ve got it. I love you too”
“I only ever need you babe”, my hands wondered up her back until they tangled in to her silky hair. I pressed my body firmly against hers as we lost ourselves in the kiss.
——-
We worked our way to our room, stopping for kisses and caresses. Once we made it, she asked me to leave the lights off; she took out a lighter and lit the candles which adorned every inch of the room.
She moved in a blur, pushing me up against the wall as her hands felt every curve. She slid her hands down my arm until our fingers interlaced. Her body was a firm pressure against mine as she held my hands above my head; kissing a line from my ear to my neck. Passion consumed us both as she whispered against my skin, raising goosebumps “It’s been so long since you came back to me Amy. But your eyes never lie to me and I knew today was the day I got to have my wife back. Even if it is for a short time. Feel me, touch me, make me yours like it’s the first and last time”, she teasingly bit my lip as she pulled away. A low moan escaped my lips as I missed her body against mine. She began to slowly undress, shooting a sultry look over her shoulder and already I could feel the heat building between my legs. I closed my eyes as her lips crashed on to mine, her hands were all over me as she expertly discarded each piece of clothing. I straddled her as she lifted me to our bed, she let go of me and I fell down, her body an immediate warmth on top of me. She kissed down my body as I tried to touch her in every way possible. My back arched as her tongue delved hungrily in to my wetness. Ecstasy was clutched at the core, cheeks were burning, heart open, eyes shut and lips open. We made love for several hours, intertwined as sweat dripped down our bodies. This moment felt eternal - just that and no more.
---
I woke up at 9am after a deep sleep. I felt refreshed but as I rolled over, a small scream left my lips as my eyes fell on a naked woman in MY bed, “Who the hell are you?”.
I jumped out of bed to see the woman’s face soaked in tears, pleading, “Amy, it’s me. Please come back to me, I need more time”. Ignoring the woman, I quickly dressed and ran out on to the beach…

"Cheers!" the group of four vampires and Samantha beam as they clink glasses together to celebrate the big change they achieved that night. But only Lily's smile seems genuine. As they take a sip of the sparkling wine, each one of them walks towards different directions of Raines Corporation CEO's office. Adrian sits by his desk fidgeting, Kamilah is contemplating the city through the glass wall and Jax takes a look at Adrian's bookshelves. Alone on a brown leather couch, Samantha barely touches her drink as her eyes follow Adrian and Jax around the room.
"Hey, what's with the frowning face?" Lily rests an elbow on the backrest as she makes herself comfortable on the couch.
"I didn’t realize I was..."
"I’m not surprised though. This is the tensest celebration I've ever been to. It feels like a bomb is about to explode any moment now. But you didn’t answer my question," Lily affirmed.
"I'm going to talk to Jax tonight," Samantha looks down.
"You mean the talk?"
Samantha nods, taking a sip of the champagne.
"Holy shit! What are you going to say?"
"I don't know... The truth?"
"I know you're good with talking, seducing and persuading men to do whatever you want, but I hope you thought it through because these are not regular guys, Sam."
Samantha looks between Adrian and Jax stealing glances at her. "So I've heard..."
"Are you going over there now?"
"I'm not sure," Samantha chews a fingernail. "I have to pick my moment. He must have a lot going on in his mind right now."
"Then go talk to somebody else first. Be the social butterfly you are and soon you'll find the right moment."
"What if I want to stick with you?" Samantha tilts her head to the side and bats her eyelashes.
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I know you're chickening out and you're using as a distraction so we'll end up the entire night together being goofy and you'll miss your chance to talk to him. Is that what you want?"
Samantha narrows her eyes annoyed. "Did Kamilah talk you into this?"
"Maybe. But you know she has a point. You've got to settle this. So, woman up and go!"
Samantha rolls her eyes but stands up and walks over to Adrian's desk, glancing at Jax from time to time. "So serious..."
"Just reflecting... Taking it all in. Back in the Baron's dungeon, I really thought I was dead. I came to terms with it. You saved my life, Samantha. More than once. I owe you the greatest debt imaginable."
"It's okay. Just save my life twice, then we're square."
Adrian chortles. "I should probably stop dragging you into dangerous situations then. Hopefully, all of that is behind us now."
"You think so? Will things finally settle down?"
"I don't know there are so many unanswered questions that bother me. There's so much to figure out..."
"Well, we'll figure it out."
"Yes, we will. And speaking of ‘we’..." Adrian steps closer and lowers his voice. "I hope you  join me into a more private celebration later."
"I don't know..."
"What's there to know? We care about each other and it should be a natural thing for us being together."
"There's him," Samantha looks at Jax reading a few pages of The Art of War. "I have to talk to him first."
"When are you planning to talk to him?"
"Tonight, if I find the courage to tell him at some point. He'll probably want to return to his people to give the news and I kinda want to talk to him alone, in some place quieter."
"You could go to my balcony. The glass walls are soundproof, it'll give you both some privacy."
She glances at the balcony, then at Jax. "Really?"
Adrian nods.
"It seems private enough, I guess."
"I understand your concerns about his reaction, but if he truly cares about you, he'll find a way to be okay with this and let you make up your mind."
Samantha takes another glance at Jax still reading the book. The possibility of losing Jax is daunting, but postponing this conversation wouldn’t make it any easier. She has to talk to him and has to be right now. "I'm going over there. Thanks for offering the balcony, Adrian."
"It's no bother. I'll take Kamilah and Lily to bar and give you both more privacy." Adrian looks around the room, discreetly brushes Samantha's hair from her shoulder and kisses her neck while no one is looking. In a matter of seconds, his eyes fade from blood red to clear blue as she locks eyes with Adrian. He gives her a reassuring smile and joins Kamilah.
Samantha takes a deep breath and walks to the bookshelves. Jax had closed the book and his fingers run down the shelf looking at other book titles. "Hey," she leans against the desk.
"Hey," Jax utters as a ghost of a smile plays on his lips.
"Did you find anything interesting in there?"
"I did. For a pacifist, he sure has a lot of books on war strategy," Jax replies.
"He has been through a lot... I think he has his motives."
"After what he went through, I wouldn't be surprised..."
"How are you feeling, Mr. Council Member?"
"Weird as hell?" he smiles ruefully. "Honestly I always thought I'd kill them or they'd kill me. Never imagined I'd join them. A part of me feels like I'm selling, but... it'll do my people so much good. I can't turn it down. What do you think? Am I doing the right thing?"
"You're one of the most passionate and dedicated fighters I've met. As long as you stay you... you'll make it work."
"Thank you, Sam. It means a lot coming from you," Jax says softly.
"Hey, can we go to the balcony?"
"Sure," he smiles and follows her.
Samantha picks up two glasses of wine on her way to the balcony and as she places the glasses on a table nearby, she realizes no one else is in the room anymore. Her heart beat faster, louder, her breath comes quicker. This is it. She pours the gold colored drink into the glasses and turns to Jax, he's leaning against the railing stargazing. He looks more at ease, peaceful even. But something inside her keeps telling her it's not going to last for much longer.
She steps closer and hands him a glass. Their hands brush for a moment and their eyes meet as they drink the Chardonnay together.
"You're too quiet tonight," Jax points out.
"I feel a little overwhelmed lately."
"I can imagine. The things you know about us, what you saw, what you did these past few weeks, it can't be easy to wrap your mind about it," he agrees. "But you're tougher than we all gave you credit for and that says something. It must be the reason why I'm so drawn to you," he says, his eyes locked with hers.
"Are you?"
"Did you really believe I was looking out for you just because you were in danger?"
"Sometimes..."
He chuckles, leaving his glass on the table. "You do have a tendency to get in more trouble than any other people I know, but I like that about you."
"Funny, because I remember you saying it annoys you," she smirks.
"It does, but seeing you safe and sound makes it worthwhile."
He moves closer to her, taking the champagne flute from her hand and places it beside his own glass. He holds her waist, pressing her body on his and one of his hands caresses her cheek. She finds herself leaning into his touch, longing for his kiss as he glances from her eyes to her lips countless times. Yet, she can't let this go any further. "Jax?"
"Yeah?"
"I really care about you."
"Well, right back at you, Sam," he jests.
"I mean it."
"Me too."
"But there's someone else."
Jax steps back, letting go of her. He stares blankly for a moment, brows knitting together.
"I've been meaning to tell you this for a while, but there was always something urgent to solve. I thought it was just attraction and somehow I’d find out who I want to be with, but--" she trails off as she sees his jaw clenched and hands balled into fists.
"But what? You want me and this someone else?"
"I didn't--"
"But you thought about it, didn't you?"
She flinches.
"Is it Adrian?"
She nods.
“Have you been with him and with me this whole time?”
She bites her bottom lip nervously.
"Great. That's just great," Jax snaps and walks into the room, grabbing his jacket to leave.
"Jax," she begs.
"No! I can't deal with this right now! I didn't come here to tell you what I feel for you to settle for sharing you with your rich boss. How can you possibly think I’d be okay with this?"
"It's not like that."
"Enlighten me then! Tell me how this is going to work out," he ranted.
"I-- I haven't--" she feels her heart sinking slowly as he glowers at her. He’s angry in a way she has never seen before. “I haven’t thought about it," she looks down.
"Yeah, I can see that," he sneers.
"Please, don't go."
"And what else am I supposed to do here? I can't stay. This is not what I had in mind and I don't know what to do with this. I--”  he trails off as he tries to control his anger. “I can't think about this right now."
"Jax..." his name barely comes out of her mouth as her eyes begin to well up.
He stops for a moment with his hand holding the doorknob. She can't barely breathe. He wants to be with her and she feels it his hesitation to leave. But as she takes a step closer to him, Jax opens the door and leaves.
Tears stream down her face as deep sadness takes over her body. She slumps on the floor and stares at it, trying to figure out how she could undo this, at what point she could've stopped with her silly seduction games, wondering if she ever felt her heart aching this much. She doesn't how much time has passed since he went away. She only feels one hand on her knee and looks at the person in front of her.
"Sam?" Lily calls, going down on one knee to gawk her friend’s reaction.
"He left..." Samantha croaked.
"Yeah, we saw him leave," Lily says quietly.
"He just left..." Samantha wails and rests her head on her friend's shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Sam," Lily kneels on the floor and pulls her best friend into a hug, caressing her hair. "I'm here for you, okay?"
"No... You have a date with that vampire girl, you told me that" Samantha pulls away sniffing.
"Yeah, but I can reschedule."
"No, go on your date. I'm okay."
"No, you're not. But I can drive you home if you want," Kamilah says handing Samantha a glass of water.
"Thanks," Samantha replies taking a sip of the water.
Kamilah nods.
"If you don't want to be alone tonight, I can stay with you. We can have a sleepover," Lily smiles.
"A sleepover with you sexting with your new girlfriend all night? Tempting, but no thanks. I'll be okay, I promise."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, and you must be dying to go because you can't stop checking your watch," Samantha taunts.
"Hey!" Lily pushes Samantha playfully.
"She's right, though. You did it all night and it's annoying. Admit it and go on your date. I can take it from here."
Lily stood up and pulled her friend up as well. "I'll check up on you tomorrow, but call me if you need anything."
Samantha nods and they hug tightly before Lily walks away.
"We should go now too. Grab your jacket," Kamilah orders.
"Now?"
"I am going home right now. I suggest you do the same if you don't want to mess this up even more."
A sound of a throat clearing echoes in the room. "You can go, if that's what you want, Samantha. But you can at least join me on one last drink for tonight," Adrian says as he arranges a few documents on his desk and puts into a drawer.
Kamilah glares at Adrian, who simply ignores her stare, and lowers her voice to Samantha. "You're vulnerable, you're not thinking clearly. Don't make any decisions in the heat of the moments. Go. Home." She commands and walks towards the door. "I'll talk to later, Adrian."
Samantha follows Kamilah, but Adrian grabs one of her hands. "Samantha, stay. Kamilah has her own commitments to attend, you can stay. It's just one drink. I'll call you a cab later."
She knows Kamilah is right. Yet, going home to be alone with the many self-depreciative thoughts that have been crossing her mind since Jax left didn't seem like a good idea either. I don't want to be alone... And Adrian is a good listener. "Okay, one drink."
Adrian breaks in a slow grin.
Kamilah purses her lips then shrugs. "Suit yourself," Kamilah says as she walks out the door.
Adrian pours the sparkling wine in two glasses and studies her sullenly staring at the city. Leaving the wine on the table, he saunters to her. "How are you doing?" he asks softly.
"I don't know..."
"I'm sorry," he says, placing an arm around her.
"It's okay. I'm the only one at fault," her lips begin to quiver.
"Hey," he turns her so she's looking at him. "How is it your fault? You didn't choose any of this. It just happened."
"I could've avoided it. I could've not toyed with his feelings, or with yours, for that matter," she confessed.
"Samantha, Jax made his decision. All you can do is respect it and move on."
"Why does it sound easier said than done?"
"Because it is."
"How comforting," she quips.
Adrian chuckles. "Yes, I'm aware of it. Then again, that's not how I was hoping to comfort you."
Samantha looks at her boss, his blue eyes once again changing to red, rises on her toes, wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him fervently. He quickly responds, tugging on her clothes, pulling her closer. She pulls away. "I hope this is the kind of comfort you meant," she says.
"It is, but..." he cups her face. "Are you sure this is what you want right now?"
"Yes," she replies, her hands roaming down his chest, playing with the buttons of his shirt.
Adrian captures her lips in a heated kiss, pulls her up, wrapping her legs around his waist and takes her to his apartment, stumbling on the way to the elevator. Once they arrive at his apartment, half of their clothes are already off and he makes quick work with his remaining pieces as he lays her on the bed. He climbs on top of her and pushes down her bra, unhooks it and peppers kisses over her breasts. Samantha tangles her fingers in his hair, ravishing his touch as he goes lower. Adrian pushes her panties down, tosses it aside and takes her sex in his mouth, his tongue flickering on her sensitive nub.
As desire builds up inside her, Samantha grinds on his tongue and her eyes flutter shut. However, she only pictures one person between her legs, teasing her, smirking every time she moans, making her writhe with pleasure. She opens her eyes and tries to focus on the moment, on who she's with. Adrian inserts one finger into her, pumping in and out as his tongue puts a slight pressure on her clit.
"Oh, god!" She moans.
Adrian smiles and stares at her, rubbing her core with one hand and thrusting her with the other.
"I need you, Adrian," she pants.
He goes back up, his mouth finding hers and burying himself into her. He rocks his hips against hers slowly, his hands roaming down the curves of her body. Samantha encircles her legs around him and cups his face. She gazes at him as he increases the pace. Their lips meet once again and she closes her eyes instinctively. As she melts into the kiss, her thoughts take her back to... I need to stop thinking about him.
"You feel so good," Adrian whispers, his lips brushing on her shoulder, fangs grazing on her neck. "God, Samantha, you're amazing!"
She focuses on his voice, on how soft his hands feel on her skin, how his body smells like. Anything that can make her remember who she's with. "Go faster," she pleads.
Adrian obliges, increasing speed. His eyes go darker as his need for blood grows with his urge to find release.
"You can feed on me."
"No."
"I know you won't hurt me. I trust you."
"Samantha," he whispers.
"Please?"
He nuzzles her neck and shoulders, savoring the warmth of her skin on his lips.
"It's okay, Adrian. Do it," she purrs.
His thumb brushes on her lips and takes it into his mouth, sucking it with her eyes closed as if it was his cock. "Fuck, Samantha," he growls watching her bobbing her head as she keeps sucking his thumb. Unable to control his hunger any longer, his fangs sink into her shoulder and he drinks her blood. He thrusts faster, deeper, his lips connected to her body while he savors the warm liquid pumping from her veins into his mouth.
She arches her back as jolts of pleasure radiate all over her body, blurring her vision. She's so close, she never wanted to reach climax so much, yet she's scared of saying things she shouldn't. Because when she closes her eyes, she can only see him.
Adrian's fingers move down her body drawing tantalizing spirals on her core. She moans loud. He withdraws his fangs and whispers in her ear. "That's it. Come for me."
Still sucking his thumb, she stops fighting against the waves of pleasure and reaches bliss. Adrian eases himself out of her, spills his seed over her belly, pricks his forefinger, seals the perforations on her shoulder with his blood and gets out of the bed. A few minutes later, he comes back with a washcloth and cleans her stomach and between her legs.
He goes back to the bathroom while Samantha stays immobile on the bed. Of all the things she ever felt during afterglow, sadness never was one of them. Until now. "Adrian?"
"Yes?"
"Come to bed," she says, trying her best to seem fine.
Adrian obliges and walks back to the room, pulling the comforter up as he encircles his arms around her waist and rests his chin on her chest. "Are you okay?"
She takes a deep breath before speaking. "Yeah, I'm just tired."
"Let's have some rest then," he says as he pulls her face towards his and gives her a quick kiss.
Samantha smiles weakly and buries one side of her face in the pillow, closing her eyes as tears roll down the bridge of her nose and temple, crying in silence.

Kamilah x MC Prompt Fill
The Chauffeur
PAIRING: Kamilah Sayeed x MC (Nadya Al Jamil)
⥼ Summary ⥽
Nadya has this silly dream of cuddling with Kamilah in the back of a car. Kamilah always has to be the one at the wheel. You see her problem here.

One thing she learns about Kamilah early on in their the-word-is-relationship-but-they-haven’t-used-it-yet-and-anyway-maybe-her-centuries-old-girlfriend-doesn’t-like-labels?
The woman prefers driving herself. Driving them both, when the time comes, but the point still stands.
If there is a wheel, Kamilah prefers to be the one steering it. (A phrasing she can no longer use around Lily for obvious reasons.)
Unfortunately that leaves little room for negotiation, or say… cuddling. Because Adrian may be known for speeding up just a tad when it comes to making a yellow light but he’s a pretty standard safe driver. Like he’s gunning for the poster boy of Driver’s Ed. But to say Kamilah has a lead foot is a generous understatement. How can Nadya expect to cuddle her when she’s fearing for her life with every change of lane?
Just because she doesn’t remember making the mistake of confessing her secret fanfiction-trope car-cuddling fantasy to Lily doesn’t mean she didn’t do it. It just means Lily probably kept pouring the wine until she had other things on her mind.
Since she definitely had, of course, Lily had taken it upon herself to wrangle Adrian into another ‘Kadya Official Dating Squad’ scheme.
She really needs to get a hold of her roommate’s and her boss’ phones and delete the other’s contact info. This is getting ridiculous.
“It seems a terrible waste of everyone’s time and effort in thwarting your execution for you to court death in this way, Adrian.”
Nadya keeps huffing into her gloves like it’ll help. It won’t. Five minutes on the curb in front of the restaurant and she’s already accepted her fate as a popsicle for the rest of her days.
The car is right there but because she never thinks long-term her boss and her girlfriend are both immune to frigid temperatures ― so she’s kinda stuck waiting.
And dumb, stubborn Adrian just will not get out of the driver’s seat of Kamilah’s sleek black Bentley. Frankly her death is on their hands.
“Kamilah, please just get in the car.”
“How did you even get the keys?”
“I have my ways.”
“Adrian…”
“Fine; I swung by your loft.”
“Ah, so Gerard is complicit in your crime.”
“Kam―for Christ’s sakes, look at Nadya she’s freezing―please just get in the car.”
Normally Nadya would let them hash it out. ‘Normally’ constituting a sunny evening in, say, mid-August―not the depths of a November cold front. She’s full of fancy wine and fancy French cuisine and fancy dessert and they are ruining the moment, darn it!
“Kamilah!” She whines loud enough to grab both vampires’ attentions, feels the solid weight of the woman’s arm pulling her close on instinct. “It’s no big deal if he drives. He’s just being…” a third wheel, “nice.”
It’s two against one and Kamilah’s never really forgotten her roots as a tactician ― knows when she’s defeated and when to accept it with dignity.
“Very well, very well!” Though she eyes the front seat with a frown when Adrian leaves it unprotected to open the back cabin door for them. That’s when Nadya notices the lack of waistcoat and strange hat her boss is wearing.
Oh my god. He’s playing chauffeur.
She accepts the vampiress’ helping hand with a “thank you” through chattering teeth; practically has to tug her down to follow and not without muttered protest. Honestly she expects nothing less.
“One night won’t kill you,” she mumbles. Kamilah, however, disagrees.
“Adrian drives like an elderly matron.”
“As opposed to a Tokyo drag racer?”
Sharp eyes snap to her but Nadya refuses to take it back. The resulting stare down lasts just long enough for their driver to buckle himself in and merge into traffic. With a contented sigh Nadya accepts the gift―however unorthodox―that she’s been given. Peels off two pairs of gloves and laces her bare fingers with Kamilah’s.
Two blocks (and a frustrated “You could have made that light!”) pass, have Nadya just on the cusp of a dozing nap when she’s jerked back to awake by movement. She watches as Kamilah reaches forward and turns the heating dial all the way up. Lets her settle back in wordlessly especially when an arm snakes over her shoulders to pull her close.
“… Better?” Kamilah asks; a whisper.
But Nadya doesn’t respond right away. Waits until the temperature kicks in and her cold-blooded girlfriend starts to warm up with the rest of the car―and the heated seats(!)
“Much.”

Pairing: Jax Matsuo x f!MC Rating: EXPLICIT (minors do not interact): suit kink, riding Summary: Jax tries to get ready for Dracula's party. Someone distracts him. Tag list: @desiree-0816 @i-only-signed-up-for-fanfiction @choices-de @ihaveathingforliterature @vaticanwaltz @srta-give-me-my-jax-rl @lilyofchoices @msjpuddleduck Notes: Jax in a suit kind of did things to me. So I had MC do things to him.
[masterlist] [read on ao3]
She wakes to the delicious warmth of lips on her forehead and a hand on her cheek. It’s a warmth she’s achingly familiar with, and she nestles further into his hand. “Time to wake up,” Jax murmurs into her ear. “We’ve got a party to get to.”
His hand withdraws and she whines at the loss, cracking one eye open. “No, come baaaack.”
“No, you have to get dressed.” His voice echoes from the bathroom in the suite they’re sharing. “We’re being picked up soon and while I wouldn’t complain if you went in that, I’m not sure that’s how you want to meet Dracula.”
She takes a moment to stretch her limbs and then grudgingly sits up, yawning. “How do you know?” she calls back, smile unfurling slowly as she teases. “Maybe I want to show up to his castle in a slip dress and nothing else.”
“Is that right?” Jax appears at the door of the bathroom, adjusting his jacket cuffs, a matching shit-eating grin on his face. “Might be a bit chilly, don’t you think?”
Her throat goes dry.
He’s in a suit.
Jax is in a suit.
“You’re in a suit,” she chokes out, barely able to comprehend what she’s seeing. Gone is his standard leather jacket and jeans. For the party, he’s dressed in a dark charcoal suit and black dress shirt with a red tie and a matching red pocket square and she is so, so fucked.
Jax’s cheeks color slightly. “Uh. Yeah. Kamilah said the dress code was fancy so I sprung for one.”
“It looks--” She swallows and tries again. “It looks good.”
He gives her a relieved smile, leaning against the doorway. “I don’t look super uncomfortable and out of my element?”
Her eyes track from his shiny dress shoes, up the pants crease, up his chest and finally come to a rest on his tie. The whole ensemble highlights everything: the width of his shoulders, his strong arms, his long legs. It’s a long moment before she realizes he asked her something. “What? Oh, no, you look great,” she croaks. “Tie’s crooked, though.”
His expression pinches slightly as he sighs. “I haven’t worn a tie in probably thirty years,” he grumbles, sitting on the edge of the bed closest to the mirror to start fixing it. “Just spent about 15 minutes now trying to get it right.”
“And you didn’t think to ask me?” she murmurs, almost unconsciously, eyes glued to his broad back and the way the jacket fits just right.
His movements pause, and then he looks up and meets her eyes in the mirror.
“Let me,” she says, and comes to stand in front of him between his legs. He lowers his hands to rest on her waist, warming her skin through her slip dress, and she shivers as she adjusts his tie. Like this, she feels so exquisitely small; he’s already taller than her to the point that when he’s sitting and she’s standing, he’s barely looking up at her. But something about him in a suit makes him seem that much larger and she likes it that much more.
“Have a lot of experience doing men’s ties?” he asks innocently.
She smirks. “Maybe. But none that looked as good in a suit as you.”
This close, she can see everything. His Adam’s apple bobs above her fingers as he swallows and his pupils are blown wide, eyes trained on her face while she tucks and tugs. His breath hitches when her knuckles brush his neck.
“There,” she says, running a hand down the perfectly laid tie. A beat of silence falls over them, charged and heady, and then she’s yanking him in for a searing kiss like she’s wanted to do since she first saw the suit.
She devours him, licking deep into his mouth, and to his credit Jax responds almost instantly, sucking filthily on her tongue and drawing her roughly onto his lap, hands tight on her waist. “You really like me in a suit, huh,” he pants against her mouth.
“Like you wouldn’t believe,” she says, and then crushes her lips against his again. Her hands fly everywhere, running over his shoulders and down his back and along his thick arms and then over his front to grasp at his lapels, relishing in the smooth feel of the suit under her fingers. His hold on her has her pinned in place against his chest, right where she wants to be.
Whimpering, she grinds down on his cock through the fabric of his pants and then gasps when he bites down hard on her bottom lip with his fangs, spilling blood.
“Sorry, sorry,” he murmurs, drawing back slightly. His eyes are bright red, riveted on her swollen lip, and he leans in and licks it slowly clean. “Accident.”
“You know,” she says, smoothing out his lapels, “if you insist on giving me a permanently sore bottom lip, the least you can do is earn it.”
Jax’s eyes flash. “You saying I haven’t?”
“I’m saying you’ve been holding out on me,” she says against his mouth. “You’re hot in a suit.”
His breath stutters out of him and he surges forward to capture her lips in another desperate kiss. It only breaks when he grabs at the hem of her slip and slides it up and over her head and then she’s naked in his lap and it’s the glorious feel of the suit on her bare skin. Everywhere he touches her with his hands burns and everywhere his suits brushes against her cools pleasantly, a riot of sensation she can do nothing but drown in.
Jax grapples with his tie, grunting frustratedly into her mouth when it doesn’t immediately come off. He pulls harder until it tears, the ripping sound loud in her ears as he completely undoes her work, but she can’t quite bring herself to care. It’s not until he unbuttons his suit jacket and starts to take it off that her wits return and she blurts out, “NO!”
He pauses. “No?”
“No,” she says, swallowing hard. “Leave it on.”
“Ok,” he says, nosing at her jaw and pressing open mouthed kisses into the skin there. “Ok, I will.”
“Good,” she breathes, and then settles more comfortably on his lap, knees on the outside of his thighs. She reaches down for his belt, undoing the buckle with ease, and draws his hard cock out, stroking slowly. His hips snap up but she’s held in place by a calloused hand clamped tight on her ass.
“Fuck,” he groans. “If I knew how much you like me in a suit, I would’ve bought one sooner.”
“Buy more anyway,” she gasps, positioning her cunt over his cock and sliding down slowly. He fucks up into her once, hard enough that she sees stars. “I think we’re going to ruin this one.”
His fingers dig into her skin, forceful enough to leave little fingertip bruises as he drags his hot mouth down her neck, down her sternum, between her breasts and biting down gently at the swell as she rolls her hips, taking him in as deep as she can. It’s harder for her to get a good grip on him this way when he’s in a suit, but it’s an even trade-off the way the fabric rubs cool and sleek against her skin.
“Jax, god--” she says, whining as she fucks herself on his cock. “Saw you in this suit and lost my goddamn mind over it, I can’t believe--” She cries out when he thrusts up, hard, losing complete track of what she was trying to say as he sets a relentless pace and steals the reins away.
“You’re going to be the death of me,” he says hoarsely, disbelievingly, as if he can’t comprehend how much she wants him.
She manages to choke out a laugh at that, because in truth it’ll be the opposite if he keeps looking as incredible as he does, but stops abruptly when he shifts his hand down to rub at her clit. All her breath is punched out of her lungs as he keeps bouncing her on his cock, moving her like she weighs nothing. Hot, spiking pleasure coils in the pit of her stomach as it all becomes too much: the slide of his suit against her naked skin, the rough brush of his finger on her clit, the iron grip he has on her hip, and the way his cock splits her open, over and over and over.
“Please,” she whispers, and then he pinches her clit and she’s coming, wailing and shaking in his arms as he keeps on fucking into her.
She clenches tight around his cock, pressing her mouth to the side of his as she slumps against him, and breathes, “Jax…”
He comes with a grunt, hips stuttering and then stilling, breathing hard into the side of her neck where his fangs catch on her skin. “Jesus,” he rasps. His chest heaves as he pulls her closer for a sweet kiss, hands running soothingly up and down her back.
They kiss lazily until their breathing mostly evens out and their heart rates return to a normal range. “Should probably get cleaned and ready,” he eventually murmurs against her mouth. His eyes are brown once again. “We’re probably very late and you need to get dressed.”
Resting her hands on his forearms, she sighs and tilts her head back. It’s hard to remember she’s excited to meet Dracula when staying in this room and having Jax every which way sounds infinitely better at the moment. “Yeah. I guess I have to.”
He leans in for one last kiss and then shifts her off his softened cock and she tumbles onto the bed, legs giving out when she tries to stand. “No, it’s ok,” she says, giggling like mad when an alarmed Jax lunges to catch her. She waves him off. “Go clean up. My legs just need a moment, I swear I’ll be up and ready in a bit.”
He only shakes his head, smiling as he returns to the bathroom. A low whistle follows. “Damn. You really did a number on me.”
“And you loved every minute of it,” she mutters to herself, settling on top of the blankets. There’s something underneath her head and she reaches behind her, pulling his tattered tie free. She sits up to examine it and winces. It’s completely unsalvageable, a rip straight down the back.
“Have you seen my tie--oh,” he says, emerging from the bathroom again except exceptionally more rumpled this time. She’ll have to look for an iron but that thought quickly disappears to the back of her mind. Even disheveled, he looks incredible. “Well, I can’t wear that.”
“Probably for the best,” she murmurs, and he grins.

Blood Bound: The Ties that Bind Us Sneak Peak!
An Adrian X MC (Nurami/Nora) Fanfiction
“Rheya my goddess we come bearing news.” a male worshiper says.
“What is it my loyal servant,” Rheya asks.
The man bows and replies, “The BloodKeeper you are searching for has perished.”
“That is most depressing news...” Rheya says looking down.
“Goddess is there something wrong?” the worshiper asks .
“Sit down...it is time that I tell you about what is so special about the BloodKeeper...my first and only daughter my real daughter...Nurami...”
....
“NORA!! NO!” Adrian cries as he catches her before she could fall on the ground “Please Nora...don’t leave me...”
“I’m so...” Nora stuttered as Adrian shushed her.
Just then Kamilah tore her wrist and put it near her mouth.
“Kamilah...what are you...” Jax started.
“We’re not losing her!” Kamilah snarled “We can’t!”
Adrian encouraged her to drink as he lifted her up and said, “We need to get her to my basement right now...”

Choices: Stories You Play, by Pixelberry Studios
Bloodbound (Spoilers for Book 2 finale and Book 3 intro)
MC (Bobbi) x Lily
The first chapter of Bloodbound 3 really frustrated me. It was bizarre, for a game called Choices, how few they gave you. The biggest problem was the fact that you had no choice but to forgive your Love Interest for Turning you. I’d been playing the whole series as someone happy to help the Vampires in her life, but with no interest in becoming one herself. Ever since we woke up in the coffin at the end of Book 2 I’ve been feeling a little sickened by the game, which I normally really enjoyed. It’s actually put me off other books in the app, which I was enjoying.
There was a moment, right at the beginning of Chapter 1, where I thought “They didn’t turn me, it’s a plot point, I’ve woken up in a real coffin” and I could live with that. But it was a fake-out. Later on Lily (My love interest) confessed to turning me and without any options I ‘forgave her’
Some people have pointed out that, because the Turning didn’t appear to take at first, we may have become a Vampire because of Plot points after all. That’s all well and good, but she still tried to Turn me. The fact that it wasn’t because of her, doesn’t negate her intent…
This little fan-fiction is what I wanted to say and do. I needed to write it because I really enjoy this game and I needed the catharsis
Kamilah, Jax, and Adrian all walked politely out of the room, leaving me alone with Lily. The smell of… the smell of blood coming from the leftover droplets in the goblet was intoxicating. My body craved more, but my mind was rebelling at the thought. I barely heard what Lily was saying to me until some terrible words broke through my shock.
“It was me,” Lily said, looking distraught, “I Turned you. Adrian helped me, but I was the one who did it. But it didn’t take. We buried you.”
I turned to Adrian’s huge office window, made of the tinted glass that protected vampires like him… like us… from the deadly rays of the sun. My reflection stared back at me – another vampire myth that didn’t hold up – looking distraught.
“How could you do this to me?” I whispered. Lily easily heard me.
“Bobbi, you did it to me,” she said, suddenly sounding worried, “You found me dying and forced Adrian to turn me.”
“You forgave me,” I said, feeling a tear welling, “I acted out of panic and fear of losing you, but you forgave me, and I was grateful for that until the day I died…”
“Bobbi,” suddenly her arms were around my waist, hugging me sweetly. I turned in her grip, faster than I could ever have moved before and she pulled back with a look of unaccustomed fear, “It’s okay to be shocked… I was…”
“I’m not shocked, Lily,” I snarled, feeling the sharp point of my fangs pushing into my lower lip. I realised why she had pulled back from me, my eyes must have the red glow I’d grown to love in hers, “I’m upset, I’m heartbroken, I’m angry!”
I pushed her away from me and she slid most of the way across the room, hitting Adrian’s desk with a thump. She looked up at me, now looking angry. Her eyes had gone the same red and her fangs glinted in the lights.
“So, you get to be angry, when I didn’t?” She said, accusingly. Neither of us noticed the door opening, but Adrien, Jax, and Kamilah must have stepped back in about this point, “I couldn’t live without you, Bobbi. This time since I was Turned, I’ve fallen so hard for you. I thought you knew that?”
“I fell for you too, Lil,” I confessed, glancing sideways and smashing a chair with a gentle kick. I saw the anger in Lily’s eyes drain away as she realised what I was doing, “But I thought you knew me, too. I thought you knew I didn’t want to be Turned. Ever. You were scared of losing me? Well, you have.”
Before I could drive the chair leg into my own heart, it was taken from me. Kamilah’s arms were wrapped around my shoulders, holding me tightly to her chest. A hand even stronger than me pushed my head down into her shoulder. Despite this I could see Lily’s horrified face as Jax had to pull her out of the room. I felt remorse for hurting her, but I still couldn’t let go.
“Lily,” I said, ignoring the warning pressure Kamilah pushed on me, “I will never forgive you for this…”
“Well, that could have gone better,” Adrian said, his sardonic tones offset by the clear look of distress in his eyes.
“Not the moment, Adrian,” Kamilah said, in her beautiful middle-eastern accent, “That’s not the first time I’ve seen a fledgling attempt suicide, Bobbi. They usually miss, so I thought I’d spare you and Lily both the pain.”
Finally, I accepted Kamilah’s embrace, pressing my face to where her neck and shoulder met and sobbed heavily against her shoulder. I felt her hand gently caress my hair, felt it more strongly than anything I’d felt before. I understood what Lily had meant about how senses were all heightened. Then I shuddered again.
“Why did you let her do it?” I managed to ask, between racking sobs, “You’ve both known me as long as you’ve known her. I’ve never asked any of you to do this…”
“Bobbi,” Adrian said, weakly, though I could hear him as clearly as though he were stood next to me, “You mean such a lot to all of us. We all saw you sacrifice yourself to defeat Gaius. We couldn’t bear the thought of you dying for us, without doing all we could to save you. Lily’s Turning didn’t seem to work. We held a funeral for you, which wasn’t easy given the state of the city. Then you turned up in the park.”
“And I was chasing an innocent woman,” I snarled, extricating myself from Kamilah’s arms and stalking across the room, “I was going to kill her, because I needed her blood.”
Saying the words reminded me of the sudden hunger swelling in the pit of my stomach. I doubled over, clutching myself round the middle and felt tears flowing again.
“You need to feed, Bobbi,” Adrian said, putting a hand on my shoulder, “Otherwise you will lose control again or, worse, turn Feral…”
“Jax was the only one who was against Turning you,” Kamilah observed, “He said he didn’t think you would want it, but we three overruled him. I apologise, my dear. Adrian, I think Jax would be best placed to help with… this next step…”
“The city is still in chaos,” Jax told me, somehow sounding comforting despite the horror in his words, “We’re trying to restore order before the government take more drastic action. Even with Gaius and Priya dead, there are more than enough idiots out there.”
“Thank you,” I muttered, leaning against the wall of the lift, trying to ignore the ache in my belly.
“For what?” I could tell from his tone that he already knew, but he was trying to humour me, “All I’ve done is damage control.”
“Thank you for trying to stop them,” I clarified, looking over my shoulder at him, “Thank you for thinking about what I wanted.”
“Well, I’ve clearly listened better than them,” Jax looked annoyed, “You’ve always tried to help us, but never once have you even vaguely hinted at wanting to be one of us. I’m sorry I couldn’t stop them. But, for what it’s worth, it is really good to see you again.”
“Say that again in five minutes,” I said, as the lift drew to a halt, the doors opened, and the scent of prey… No! The scent of innocent humans filled my nostrils.
“Remember Lily’s first feeding,” Jax’s voice sounded distant, “Try to keep control of yourself. The people down here have volunteered to provide us with blood in exchange for us keeping them safe from the nightmare outside.”
My fangs pressed against my lip, I could almost hear the blood coursing through the veins of the two humans approaching me. They smiled, looking happy to help me and asked which I wished to feed from. I chose the woman, to an unsurprised chuckle from Jax. I grabbed the woman, who suddenly looked pained but, before I could bite, a powerful hand held me by my throat.
“She’s newly turned,” Jax’s voice said, still sounding distant behind the sound of her accelerating heartbeat, “This will be a difficult feed for you, young lady. I will be here to stop her hurting you, but please know there are risks…”
At the back of my mind I was still there, screaming against this instinct controlling my body. Just like in the park, I couldn’t stop. Jax talked me through the process and within moments the inexplicably delicious taste of human blood filled my mouth. I sucked at the puncture wounds I’d left greedily, I needed more, more of this perfect food.
“Enough!” Jax threw me against a wall, pricking his finger and touching it to the ragged bite marks on the suddenly much paler girl’s neck. My self-control finally reasserted itself and I dry-heaved, dropping to my hands and knees.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered, trying not to burst into tears again, “I’m sorry, so sorry…”
Jax helped me to my feet and we went back into the lift. That one feed had completely satiated me, I no longer had an ache in the pit of my stomach caused by hunger. Now, it was caused by guilt.
“How do you feel?” Jax asked, his arm around my shoulder, chastely, “You didn’t do too badly, considering.”
“I feel disgusting, Jax,” I confessed, running a hand through my hair so roughly I nearly pulled a handful out, “I enjoyed it, it was delicious. But I hate that I did. I don’t think I can live like this…”
“Well, please give it some time, my friend,” he said, sadly, “If you still feel this way, I will help return you to your grave myself, but please allow yourself some time to adjust. If only so you can say goodbye to Lily properly, this time…”

Chapter 24
"What did she tell you?" Lily's voice high-pitched, revealing how shocked she was.
"I already told you every single word she said, do you really want me to go through this once again?" Kamilah's eyes were slowly changing its color as the anger was taking over. "Or perhaps I should work on your memory first."
"Easy," Adrian interrupted, standing between them, sensing the tension.
After what happened, Kamilah returned to the gala. She participated in the Council meeting, and when it ended, she told Adrian about her argument with Amy.
Actually, she didn't plan on telling him anything, but Adrian noticed her more distanced than usual behavior. Finally, after multiple nagging questions from him, Kamilah gave up and decided to tell him what happened. And at the same moment, Lily called them worrying about her best friend since she just arrived home from the gala and saw Amy's things gone.
And that's how they found themselves in this situation.
They were in Lily's apartment. Or, to be precise in Amy's former room. The only things suggesting that she had ever lived there were photographs of her and Lily on the wall.
"Did you really do something to her?" Lily was asking this question another time in a row. She didn't realize how much it must hurt Kamilah to even consider such a possibility.
"Lily..." Adrian's eyes pleading, he couldn't stand his best friend's suffering. "We all know how happy Amy was during those past days. There was no indication she would do such a thing."
Kamilah felt like her shirt was made of pure metal instead of smooth cotton. Irritating pain in her chest was causing her problems with breathing. Her legs were daring to tremble as all the pressure and hurt were dragging her down.
"Has she ever done something like that?" Kamilah looked into Lily's eyes, her voice was shaky, unlike her. She sat down on the chair next to the desk.
"Has she ever run away without a word?" Lily asked. "Of course, that's what her family did for years," she frowned. "The real question is, would she do this without a serious reason? Fuck no."
"Well, she explained to me her reasons loud and clear," Kamilah's head spinning. She wasn't able to think at that moment, sorrow spreading on every part of her body.
"Maybe she lied to you," Adrian was the only one focused there. "We can't exclude the possibility that Amy's reasons weren't about us at all. She had a lot on her plate recently."
Those words make the three of them think, search for answers. They were pushing their memories about the past few days, trying to remind themselves something significant in Amy's behavior. Something that would give them a clue to explain her actions.
Lily was sitting on her best friend's bed during this whole talk. Even thinking about the possibility of Amy never coming back was bringing tears to her eyes. She took the pillow from the bed and hugged it tightly to herself, inhaling the smell of the girl's perfume that was slowly fading away.
"What is it?" Kamilah stood up immediately and made her way toward the bed.
Previously covered with a pillow, and then finally visible to their eyes was a small piece of paper with familiar handwriting on it.
Amy's note.
***
"So, you're a Bloodkeeper and the vampire at once?" Amy asked right after she got out of her memories and was able to think straight.
"Apparently so," the woman smiled to her, there was something similar about this smile. About how her lips were curling up effortlessly.
Amy was still sitting on the chair with her wrists tied up. Her blood was slowly floating inside the wires, draining away from her body. But She wasn't concerned about that anymore, not when this discovery got her attention.
"How is it?" the girl looked at her blonde new companion. Her golden strands of hair were like a reflection of her own ones. "How is it to be both?"
The young woman was standing in front of her. She was staring at Amy with her green eyes, rethinking the question.
"Maybe you'll find out one day," she chuckled at her own words. "But for now, you shouldn't bother yourself about it. You need to stay strong to get through all of this."
Amy looked around the room to remind herself of where she was, that it wasn't just a nightmare of hers. That's when a beeping sound pierced through her head once again, ensuring about her full consciousness. Her forehead was sweaty as the fever took over her body. Trying to keep herself awake, she bit onto her lower lip until she tasted the metallic flavor.
Her own blood.
So that's how it tastes, Amy thought to herself with irony.
Despite the pain, her eyelids were getting heavier again, daring to close themselves completely.
"Focus," the voice echoed in her head. "You need to stay strong for Kamilah, can you hear me?"
Amy opened her eyes wider in an instant at the sound of the woman's name. Every feeling from that terrible night came back to her twice as strong. The night when she hurt Kamilah so much.
"How do you know about her?" Amy asked aloud, with suspicion. She was trying her best to concentrate on the features of the person in front of her, so similar.
"You told me," the woman smiled calmly. "You're talking about her all the time."
The girl laughed shortly, imagining Lily saying that. Her best friend that she might never see again. Those thoughts were sending shudders down her spine, so she let go of them, focusing on the next topic.
"For what reason Vega needs so much of my blood?" Amy glanced at blood bags that were slowly filling with red liquid.
The blonde walked to one of those blood bags, touching its characteristic surface with her fingers. Then, she looked again at the girl tied up to the chair.
"What did you learn about him so far?" her voice mysterious, stimulating Amy's brain to think.
"He is a sick person," Amy answered, frowning. But she knew that it wasn't the most important thing. "And power is all that he desires."
"Exactly," the young woman moved closer to her chair. "So what would give him his so much power? How far is he ready to go?"
Their eyes connected with each other, colors almost the same. Amy felt like by staring at this woman's eyes, she was looking intensively into her own soul.
And that's when the solution hit her.
"Of course, he did it before, why wouldn't he try again?"
***
"Come on, Kamilah, read it aloud," Lily was complaining like a little child, not being able to handle the anticipation.
But her nagging tone didn't change a thing in Kamilah's expression. It was still emotionless. She just read the words written by the person she cared about, and she was feeling nothing after doing that.
Because there was absolutely nothing emotional about this letter. No explanation, just a few meaningless words written on the useless piece of paper.
Finally, Lily couldn't stand waiting anymore, and she ripped the note out of Kamilah's hands. The woman didn't even react at such an act of insubordination, as the younger vampire started reading the words loud and clear.
Lily, I had to leave. Stay strong, stay positive, stay safe.
"That's everything?" Adrian's voice didn't hide his surprise.
Kamilah was staring with her empty eyes at the wall. She didn't expect Amy to write anything about her after what she heard last night. But what the girl wrote didn't have a meaning at all.
It meant absolutely nothing.
She looked at Lily, who suddenly became less talkative. She was studying the piece of paper like the note Amy left was way much longer than it actually was. It made the woman feel suspicious.
"Lily," Kamilah's voice made her jump, dragging her out of her thoughts. "What is it?" her tone sharp.
The girl looked at her, her eyes filling with tears.
"Lily," Adrian put a hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her and encourage at once. "If this message means something, you need to tell us."
"It does," Lily looked from one vampire to the other. "Amy wrote to me a long time ago the exact same words."
The girl gulped nervously, remembering what happened next. She felt a little squeeze on her shoulder, reminding her that she should continue explaining.
"Amy...she," Lily's voice shaky, making Kamilah's eyes filled with concern and fear. "She almost died back then."
***
Amy was alone in the basement for hours.
Again.
Or... maybe she was alone there for the whole time...
"I see you're still alive," she didn't even notice when Vega walked inside.
He made his steps toward her, and without any warning, ripped the needles out of her skin. Amy trembled from pain, gritting her teeth together. Blood started flowing slowly from her wounds, her body too weak to heal it quickly. The fact of it didn't bother Vega at all. He got himself to work, taking off the blood bags that were hanging around her.
"Why are you doing this?" Amy's voice was husky because of her dry throat. "Why would you unleash ferals all over New York?"
Adam stopped for a moment gathering the bags. Her accusation was so on point, and he didn't even share a thing about this idea with her.
"You might be smarter than I assumed," he seemed to be impressed by her. "Tell me, what betrayed me?"
Amy looked at him with disgust, he was so proud of himself. If she knew all of that earlier, she would have thought of another way to deal with him. She would not have let him lock her there to slaughter.
"Why else would you need so much of my blood?" she watched his movements closely, trying to see an opportunity to escape for herself. "You want to have the cure for yourself when you let out those ferals," his expression changed, and that made Amy come up with another conclusion, a more shocking one. "Unless... you don't need it only for yourself."
Vega packed the blood into one big bag, looking at her with intense eyes. Full of passion for his crime.
"Can you imagine the panic between people in this city?" his eyes burning with red. "How desperate would be all the vampires to get the cure? How afraid of being bitten and turned into a brainless creature?"
He walked closer to her, placing both hands near Amy's in a spot where she was tied up. His eyes were shining with madness.
"And that's when the great Vega would appear," the girl's words full of disgust. "Offering them the antidote."
"Everyone is going to beg me for this," he interrupted her, his fangs growing. "Their life is in my hands."
"You're sick," Amy spit on him, forming fists out of her hands, being angry at herself that she couldn't do more.
Adam closed his eyes for a moment, composing himself. Then, he stepped back slowly, wiping the spit off from his face with the cloth.
"Maybe I am," he looked at her with his usual dark eyes. "But, unlike you," a sly smile in the corner of his mouth. "I'm going to live."
***
"What do we remember from this night?" Kamilah felt motivation, concern, and anger fighting inside her at the same time.
Lily explained to them in a hurry about what happened last time Amy acted like that. She was just a teenager back then, wanting to help their parents. Sacrifice herself.
"We were at the gala," Adrian said, trying to boost their memory. "We were sitting by the table, talking, having fun, and then..."
"Vega's speech," Lily got all dreamy about the speech senator gave them that night.
She didn't know how much mentioning it would help to solve the case.
"And after the speech," Kamilah's imagination brought the memory of Amy dancing with Vega, and the look she gave her after Kamilah saved her from this dance. "This bastard... he..."
"Do you think that Vega has something to do with it?" Adrian watched his best friend's face, trying to read something out of it.
"I know this, Adrian," Kamilah's voice showed how sure she was of it.
There was no other explanation, and the only thing she wished at that moment was for her to realize it much sooner. Before it caused Amy's decision, about disappearing.
"So," Lily stared at them like a kid that was in the middle of her parent's important talk. "What are we gonna do with it?"
Kamilah and Adrian looked at each other. Meaningfully. Finally, the Vampire Queen spoke out loudly.
"Isn't it obvious?
We will get our girl back."
Next chapter: 25 (finale)

Betrayed
Pairings: KamilahxMC
She stood frozen in place. The scene before her own eyes was to violent, to cruel. Amy swallowed hard, maybe she is just dreaming but no she wasn't.
"What..what the.." she tried to wrap her head around it, it sank in to her stomach, those people are dead.
Rheya pulled away from a woman's neck smiling widely. The first woman she ever fed from is now dead, got her blood sucked out until death.
"Oh my" that damn melodic voice spoke, something that sent shivers down Amy's spine
"It looks like my secret is out, i hope i had more time but..i got a little careless"
Amy took a step back, this sight was heavy for her stomach. The smell of blood was to strong, maybe ever delicious but most of all it made her sick and uneasy.
Before she could form a response Rheya stood up and the power she radiated was all over the room. She walked gracefully, her naked body covered in innocent people's blood.
How could she lie about her intensions? Amy knew something was off but she had hoped it was just a stupid dream. When she spoke about making the world a better place she looked so convincing, so powerful that Amy couldn't believe in her eyes.
"Oh now what are we going to do about this?" she asked rhetorically with a smirk on her lips. The more she approached Amy the more horrified she felt. No one would ever believe her.
She saw Rheya's dangerous red eyes, her fangs on sight like two weapons ready to kill. Amy closed her eyes, trying to wake up but it wasn't a dream. The last thing she saw was Rheya hoovering above, her smile evil.
___
Her head was spinning, she can still smell the scent of blood that covered all the room. Her eyelids slowly opened when she realized, she was still in that damn room.
She can hear her friends voices making her feel more safe but then Rheya's tone made her feel completely in danger.
When she opened her eyes she could see her friends around the bed, Rheya standing behind them with a disappointed look.
"Now i believe our friend here is new to her powers, her desires"
Adrian had his eyebrows frowned, Lily tried to look away disgusted with the scene as Jax was pacing around the room watching the corpses laying on the floor.
"How could you do this?" Kamilah asked, her tone wasn't the usual sweet one, it was cold and sharp like a knife. Amy tried to stand up but there she was watching the same scene playing over her head. Rheya sucking that poor woman dry, her evil smile when she noticed her, her lying words as she explained to her friends.
"I didn't..I--" she wanted to tell the truth but the she looked deep into Rheya's eyes that screamed danger so she decided to see where this was going
"I thought i taught you how to feed Amy" Adrian said with anger in his eyes
"Adrian let me--"
"I shouldn't left you out of sight" Jax continued
Lily wanted to say something but her look of disgust was enough for Amy to understand what she was trying to say.
Rheya looked so calm but Amy could notice an amusement in her face as all her friends disowned her.
"You were careless my child, when i said to let your desires guide you i didn't mean" she pointed around the room "this"
Amy tried to find comfort in her friends but they all looked so angry, so hurt
"Would you please give us a moment alone?" Rheya demanded. They all nodded and left the room, left her with a monster.
Amy stood up on her legs even she felt weak something that made Rheya more victorious
"Why are you doing this?" She knew the answer, but she still wanted to show that she cant effect her, even though she did
A laugh echoed around the room, a scary one
"And ruin my reputation? Everything i built until now?" She now approached closer until Amy was pinned on a wall
"I am important, you are just another creation of mine" Rheya now placed her delicate hand on Amy's neck pressing hard.
"And if you think you can turn your friends against me, remember Kamilah, you dont want her to get hurt do you now?"
Amy hated how scared she felt, how vulnerable. She used her love against her, she saw it as a weakness for her to abuse.
"Now i will say it once and i want to be clear, if i sense any doubt from them your little lover will hurt, badly am i clear?"
Amy's tears ran down her cheeks freely, she couldn't hold them anymore. She couldn't imagine Kamilah getting hurt, she couldn't imagine losing her again.
So she nodded, surrendering to Rheya like a pawn of hers. The goddess just smiled satisfied letting Amy breathe.
As she left the room Kamilah walked in, taking another look on the innocent people lying dead on her feet. She didn't come close to Amy, she couldn't.
"Kamilah please i-"
"You are turning into the monster that i once was" she said crossing her arms.
"You let your anger guide you arent you? Isn't this the human you just fed on an hour ago? What happened? How..why?"
Amy couldn't ignore the pained expression in her lovers eyes, they changed the way they looked at her
Remembering Rheya's threat she took a step closer to Kamilah trying to reach for her hand. Instead to feel her warm hand against hers she felt emptiness, she didn't want to touch Amy.
Amy gasped slightly, it suddenly felt all to real
"You are right, i am a monster"
Kamilah frowned, trying to read her lover's eyes but they seemed out of place.
"And you should probably stay away from me" she added as fresh tears ran down her face.
"Amy i didn't say that we should ask Rheya to help yo--"
"No!!" Amy couldn't contain her emotions anymore. All the anger and betrayal made her explode
She looked one more time at Kamilah who was distant, exactly like the day they met. All their memories and intimate moments faded away as Rheya's words kept repeating themselves on her head over and over again.
Your little lover will get hurt badly. Your little lover will get hurt badly. Your little lover will get hurt badly.
"I love you Kamilah, i do with everything that i have" Amy said carefully as her voice broke, but she didn't want Kamilah to see her cry, it would rise suspicions, the last thing she wanted.
Kamilah opened her mouth ever so slightly in surprise. She wanted to say those words to Amy since she woke up, in better circumstances. She knew a 'but' was coming and thats what broke her more. She looked at Amy finding her wet pained eyes.
"But i..but i think you should go.." her voice was now weak, her heart completely shuttered.
She was now dangerous for her friends, she couldn't hide her fear or the horror she felt when she saw Rheya, she had to be gone.
"Amy i cant lose you again i just try to understand i..i.." she couldn't say those words, not now. But if not now then when?
"Then don't try anymore, dont you see?? I am a monster!!" she dared to rise her tone as her eyes turned from their soft brown to crimson red. Red like the blood she hypothetically spilled. She looked at the walls and floor feeling completely disgusted.
Before she look up again Kamilah had left the room without another word. Amy leaned back on the wall letting her emotions finally get out. She fell on the floor, wrapping her hands around herself sobbing. She felt so sad so empty not because of what happened, but because she knew, Kamilah will never come back.

I added this warning thing, maybe exaggerating a little. I just want you to know that from that moment on, this story will get even darker. I mean, it was quite dark from the beginning.
I hope you'll stay here a little longer with me to find out how the story will end.

Chapter 23
Beeping sound.
Over and over again, piercing through Amy's skull.
It caused her eyes to open slightly. Her head was spinning, resting on her chest, which was slowly lifting, and even slower falling down.
Heavy sounds of her breaths were echoing between the walls. Mixing with this irritating sound mercilessly ticking inside her mind.
Little by little, she raised her eyes, squeezing them, as the intense light hit her pupils. Trying to pierce through them, going straight to her brain, causing unbearable stabbing pain.
Amy's mouth was dry, the same as her throat. She tried to lick her lips with a barely moist tongue, without the effect.
Finally, when her eyes adjusted to the lighting, she looked around, finding herself inside of some kind of laboratory. White floor, walls, some metallic shelves around her, and this irritating beeping sound that was accompanying her.
Her eyes closed, and she drifted away with her thoughts.
***
"You expect me to give up all of my blood," Amy's voice showed absolute disbelief mixed with fear.
"Present, and the future one," Vega's voice normal, like they were discussing a common topic.
Amy looked down at the contract, noticing the spot prepared for her signature.
"Why doing this?" her voice broke. "Why even bothering to ask me when you already threatened me in so many ways."
"Because I need your permission, little girl," Adam's words hit straight into her chest. "And that's what exactly I want you to do as your part of the deal."
Amy's stomach clenched. She had no choice. Not because of the deal they made. Because she knew what this man was capable of doing if she disobeyed. How tragic the result would be for her friends.
Former friends.
So she signed it, with shaky hands. The ink that was flowing out of the pen had an intense reddish color.
Like the blood that she just sold out.
***
Her fever was growing, skin became paler. Amy opened her eyes again, blinking a few times to focus her sight.
She gazed at her hands, feeling pain inside of her body. And that's when she realized about needles driven into her skin, under the surface, reaching her veins. Needles were connected with some equipment she wasn't able to recognize. She never saw anything like this before.
What was he doing to her...
Her vision went blurry.
***
"Why me?" Amy dropped the pen after putting a signature, letting it fall to the floor with a hollow sound.
"You're a Bloodkeeper," Vega looked at her, confused by this question.
"How did you find out?" the girl's eyes full of misunderstanding. "How is it possible that you know my real identity?"
The men walked around the desk, stopping right in front of her chair. Amy pulled back, creating more space between them.
Senator took the contract to his hands, leaning against the desk. He looked at the signature with a sly smile playing in the corner of his mouth. Finally, he lifted his gaze, staring at the girl.
"I knew about you since the day you were born," his voice sending shivers of anxiety down Amy's spine. "Do you think that your parents were running from nothing?" he laughed ironically. "I was so close catching you when they had to come up with this..."
He reached for her hand aggressively, twisting her arm. Amy held back the groan of pain with difficulty.
"This scar."
***
She looked at her left wrist right after her eyes got opened again.
Focus, she scolded herself, feeling her head becoming heavier, daring to fall on her chest. Somehow Amy managed to fight the urge of falling asleep. And instead, she saw wires transporting her blood from under her skin to blood bags hanging all over the room.
How long was she there? What happened? All those questions were crowding inside of her head.
She looked around with the hope that she would be able to notice something characteristic.
There were no windows in the place she was held captive. All she was focused on were white walls, which light surface was so intoxicating to look at. Amy was getting lost in the view, so she shook her head and kept on examining the room. She noticed stairs, which were climbing up till they reached the silver doors.
I'm in the basement, she stated a fact in her thoughts.
She tried to move, but her wrists and ankles were tied up to the chair she was sitting on.
Blood was slowly draining away from her system. At the same time, she was connected with some equipment that was supplementing every other nutrient her body needed to survive. Of course, it wasn't enough. Without enough blood, she would die anyway.
That's why her state was monitored all the time. And all these apparatus were the reason for the beeping sound that was driving her crazy. Making her create a fist out of her hands, curl the toes, causing goosebump.
Amy tried with all her strength to come back to the day she arrived at Vega's mansion. She closed her eyes, not letting herself fall asleep, but instead, to recall every detail.
***
"If not for this scar, I would've had you much earlier," Vega let go of her wrist, leaving red marks on her skin. "Thanks to that, you had a chance to live your life a little longer."
"Until I didn't meet your people," everything became much more clear to Amy.
The reason why she was in constant danger, why she wasn't allowed to trust anyone.
"But you must have escaped again," his teeth gritted from anger.
Amy reminded herself of the separation from her parents. She had a hard time believing that the person she was running away from was the senator of New York.
The city she ended up living in.
"Yes, you fell right into my hands," he smirked, making Amy feel sick from disgust. "And there, that was only a matter of time till I found you."
The girl thought about the first moment she found herself around someone from the Council. And of course, it had to be this person.
"Priya," Amy's voice full of anger at herself for not connecting the dots earlier. "She reported to you about me."
Vega laughed louder than it was necessary. He wasn't even trying to pretend that her situation bothered him in any way. Now nothing was stopping him from telling her the truth.
From celebrating his victory.
"Yes, Priya came in handy after all," his smile gradually fading with other words. "But, of course, great Kamilah Sayeed had to stay in the way. And she had to be her usual, repulsive self, that scared you away."
The remainder of Kamilah's name made Amy focus more on the meaning of his words. From what she remembered, she didn't even see the woman after Priya's party... not until the day of...
"Oh my god," Amy's eyes full of anger. "You were responsible for the attack of those vampires in the hall."
"Finally," Adam clasped in his hands. "It took you long enough."
Everything became obvious, answeres that bothered her for so long were always there within reach. Just waiting for her to take them.
"You wanted Kamilah to get interested in me," her voice sounded like it was coming from far away. "You wanted to get close to me, so you made sure Lily suffered in the process."
"I knew this idiot Adrian would be so weak and change her without thinking about consequences," he was so proud of his plan. "And I knew Kamilah would be the first one to figure out that you're a Bloodkeeper."
Amy's eyes filled with tears. She realized how vulnerable she was for this whole time. Everything that happened during the past few months was a detailed plan of Adam's sick mind.
Not a coincidence.
"But why did you bother with hurting Kamilah in Paris," the girl looked him directly in the eyes. "Why did you put so much effort into sending ferals at her."
Adam laughed again, but this time, his eyes were slowly changing into a red color.
"And that's the most crucial part of the story, Amelia," he was using her actual name on purpose, playing with her sanity. "I knew that if Kamilah gets hurt in the process, you are the first one ready to help her," his eyes flashing red. "She did recover after drinking your blood, and that left me with only one conclusion..."
It hit her at that moment too. How was it even possible that she never thought of that. That Kamilah didn't too.
"My blood is the cure."
***
Amy opened her eyes, fully remembering the scene.
She already knew that Vega wanted her blood to have some kind of insurance, in case he got bitten or scratched. But the amount of blood he was taking from her so far, was insane. And that made her mind create new questions.
He had her there, so what was the rush? He could quickly drain blood from her just after being bitten by the feral. When he would need it the most. But, instead, he was taking an immense amount of her precious blood.
Like he was preparing himself for something.
At that moment, Amy heard a loud click of unlocking doors. It took her out of her thoughts as she looked in the direction of the sound. She saw a young woman walking down the stairs.
It triggered Amy's mind as she remembered seeing her every day, but without any details of how those days looked like.
"How are you feeling?" her voice was so calming, so different from this whole situation.
"Like I lost a lot of blood," Amy chuckled with a weak smile. Talking after a long time made her cough uncontrollably.
The woman came closer to her in a hurry, to near a bottle of water to her mouth.
"Take a little sip, it should help," her voice quiet, full of guilt. "Drink slowly."
Amy obeyed her instructions, trying to calm her chest, to stop another contraction of her diaphragm. She swallowed the water, letting it flow down her throat, moisturizing it.
"Why are you here?" Amy's question made the young woman laugh.
"You ask this every time," her giggle changed into concern. Next words left her mouth like she already said them aloud several times. "I'm the only person you can trust."
Amy studied her eyes. They had this beautiful, light green color.
The next memory hit her.
***
"Keep on biting every person I send here, and it will not end well for you," Adam was standing against the wall in front of Amy.
It must have been one of the first days he held her there because she was still feeling powerful.
She was sending menacing looks toward him with her eyes shining gold. Amy only wished she managed to learn how to manipulate vampires by then. It would, for sure, come in handy in a situation like this.
"As if there was even a chance for it to end well for me," she hissed at him, feeling furious.
For a moment, Vega wanted to say something. But, instead, he just looked last one time at Amy with a threat written all over his face saying that if she tries something, she'd have to deal with him personally. And then he disappeared, leaving her alone in the basement.
Not for long.
Only a second later, Amy heard doors opening again, which made anger inside of her grow twice as strong. She was ready to see the senator walking down the stairs, but that was not him.
It was a young woman with long, wavy, blond hair falling on her shoulders and back. Her skin light, with a little pinkish color on her cheeks.
Her green eyes were looking directly into Amy's gold.
"What do you want?" Amy kept her icy tone from earlier.
"Let me talk to you," the woman's voice sounded so smooth, delicate, messing with Amy's head.
"Why should I?" the girl was suspicious, trying not to fall for her sweet appearance.
"We have a lot in common," the woman came closer to the chair to which Amy was tied up to.
They stared into each other's eyes.
And that's when Amy's mouth slightly opened in astonishment.
Because the green eyes she saw before herself were changing into golden color. In the same way, Amy's eyes did so many times before.
But here, something was different.
At the moment when her iris had a color of gold jewelry, something happened. Another shade started spreading from her pupil, changing the iris into the pure color of blood.
Red.
Oh my god, Amy thought.
She just met another Bloodkeeper.
Who, at the same time, was a vampire.
