About a year ago, I made the decision to start writing for my private blog, inspired by my first viewing of Demon Slayer. Since then, a lot has changed, and I've grown as a writer. I've had the privilege of meeting incredibly talented writers and artists, forming friendships that have endured to this day. But above all, I've been able to bring a little joy to my readers and those who trusted me with their emergency requests. A year on, with more experience and wisdom, I can confidently say that pursuing my small dream was the right choice. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who chose to follow my little blog. Without your support, I wouldn't be where I am today. Thank you, guys.

DIRK: Alright. 50-follower special. My honest review of the outfits I was sent.

DIRK: First off, what the fuck is this fit.

DIRK: My problem isn't even that it's revealing, this shit is straight-up TACKY. I wouldn't even wear this on a dare.

DIRK: The shoes are practically falling off of my feet, and what the fuck is up with the rhinestone belt? Like, genuinely, this would be almost tolerable without that.

DIRK: 2/10. Better shoes, less rhinestones, more outfit. Jesus fucking Christ.

DIRK: Better. I like that it's less revealing.

DIRK: I wasn't a fan of the pants at first, but they grew on me. Academia isn't really my "aesthetic," but I look cool as fuck. I'll give it that.

DIRK: 8/10. Not my style and some accessories wouldn't hurt.

DIRK: I'm never fucking doing this again.

Okay, let me just say, from the bottom of my heart: thank you. I never expected this blog to get much attention. Maybe just some love from my IRL friends and that would be it. I'm back, baby! 🥳

Three months ago, my blog was maliciously targeted by a Tumblr employee. I had made her personally angry, so she used her access to the platform to delete my blog - against Tumblr ToS and company policy.

This was a retaliatory action by a nasty person and it hit me right when I was already at a low point in my life (seasonal depression, job loss, injury, surgery, housing insecurity, and loss of a loved one). I didn't realize how much I loved my blog ... until a troll ate it.

As I started my new blog from scratch, I was dismayed to find that the Staff Troll in question still incorrectly interfered with my account and sent hateful anons.

I was consoled by a few other Tumblr employees who were willing to privately disclose that this kind of thing does happen, but they also awkwardly had to admit that I basically have no real avenue of recourse, other than to keep sending in complaint emails whenever I notice signs of the Tumblr staff troll ramping up her harassment again (she waxes and wanes: right now the forecast is sunny☀️).

But today I'm cheerful to announce that, in only three months on my new account, I've surpassed the number of followers that it took me eight months to accrue on my old account! (I don't want to say the number, as I think one of the best things about Tumblr is that users can't see others' follower numbers and therefore can't put too much stock in such stats.)

I've also vastly improved the design of my blog ...

... weeded out about a dozen very immature and unkind content creators ...

... and connected on a deeper level with my internet friends! So this wound up being for the best in the long run.

I just want to thank everyone who's supported my content with reblogs, and all those who've stood up for me and commiserated with me as I built my new blog back up.

In celebration, tomorrow I will be posting the next chapter of The Carter Academy for Omega Excellence!
