After visiting Babyface's mother in the prison the pair would be walking off the experience down the familiar streets they'd come to know as their home as of late when they noticed a crowd gathered around a particular club near where their car was normally parked. It was just up the road actually from where he'd told Black Arts to keep a look out for them. He told him to simply text when he arrived. He hadn't gotten any such text.
That said there was a humongous RV taking up space. It would look like a tour bus that rock stars would travel in, all black, with no name or identifiers on the side. It was very imposing among the regular cars and traffic. He wondered if some celeb was in town.
That also said his ear started to pick up a familiar tune from inside that dive. It wasn't like they were staying on the streets of anywhere nice any celebs would seemingly be.
"Is that?" He looked at Ellie and turned his head back to walk towards the door of the place. "Woody's tune?" Sorry, but coming from Nola and hearing 'You got a Friend in Me' anywhere out of town would of course catch his ear even if it was some dope drunk doing karaoke.
When he stepped in the doorway to take a look however, it wasn't just some dope. It was his dope. It was Black Arts Beagle. His assistant was in the crowd cheering him on. He'd rallied the whole crowd and had them going gaining the whole street in a sing-a-long. What the fuck? They'd just gotten into town and found a way to entertain themselves while Babyface wasn't answering his phone. It was on silent while they were in the prison. He was up there taking requests believe it or not.

🌟#ArtIsAWeapon Congratulations to my talented, brilliant, badass sis Oronike Odeleye @suiteladyoro, the National Black Arts Festival's @nbaf new artistic director! So excited to see you soar and take NBAF to new heights! Reposted from @artsatlanta "I want Atlanta to become a destination for diverse Black arts. We are a hub for Black music, but when it comes to theater and dance and poetry and literature, we are not in the same spot as other cities with large Black populations. I want to shine a spotlight on that and make Atlanta a destination for the best art.” Artistic Director Oronike Odeleye has a vision for the @nbaf . Find out more 🔗 LINK in bio 🗞 Story by Jim Farmer • www.artsatl.org/artistic-director-oronike-odeleye-has-a-vision-for-the-national-black-arts-festival/ • Reposted from @suiteladyoro Big thanks to @ArtsATL for the feature! ☺️ "Oronike Odeleye moved to Atlanta with her family at the age of 3 and — as she recalls — practically grew up with the National Black Arts Festival. At first, her parents attended, and later, she eagerly did as well. Little did she realize at the time she would eventually grow up to be the organization’s new artistic leader. Odeleye, who previously served as the festival director for the urban progressive @onemusicfest, began part time in June and then full time November 1. She replaces Tiffany Latrice Williams, who left the organization to become marketing director for Seattle’s Northwest African American Museum. When she was approached by a festival board member about the position, Odeleye was initially hesitant. “I loved my position at ONE Musicfest,” she says. “That role over the past 10 years has been amazing. I wasn’t looking for a change, but the more I talked with them — the executive director (Stephanie Owens) and the board — I saw they are in a space where they are excited about growth and about building something. They swayed me with their vision.” Full story in the @artsatlanta bio! • . . . . . . #YallGonnaGetThisBlackExcellence #ArtsATL #NBAF #AtlantaArt #AtlantaArtScene #AtlArt #AtlArtists #Festival #AtlFestivals #BlackArts #AfricanAmericanArt #BlackGirlArtGeeks #WillTravelForArt https://www.instagram.com/p/ClAV65CsVHD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

AAVE is not TikTok Slang
AVE is not TikTok slang, not generational slang
etc. It's AAVE that gets popularized by others in their
communities and repeated to the point online of it being
labeled as such. Point blank.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk 🙃
