There is no cancel culture. Some of us just want bigots to shut the fuck up and say so. Rightwing pearlclutchers love to dish out insults for everything under the sun, but once someone calls them out they start whining about cancel culture.
Cancel culture is a copout.

On this page I will ALWAYS put my people first. On this page I’m always going to talk about black people, if that upsets you then you can unfollow. Y’all always talking about
“What about us?”
What tf about y’all? Y’all don’t give a fuck about us but expect us to give a fuck about you. Y’all talk about equality and how we all need to stick together but then turn around and be mad silent when we get killed or disappear.
So why should I talk about y’all problems when you don’t give a fuck about my people’s problems? You’re just mad that you’re not in conversation.

As a trans man who doesn't wanna transition and wanna present fem and masc who's Bisexual I'm Always afraid if I like a guy and want a relationship whether it's QPR or just a dating thing they'll see me as a girl cuz of how I present. I loved seeing Domino in a mlm relationship it just restored my faith. If I could see these posts for the first time all over again I would.
Bless your queer hearts <3

I’ve watched “The Colour Purple”. It’s a very cool musical, which I eventually found in my never-ending journey on the internet in search of “gay musicals”. That was probably already a subtle spoiler. Kind of. It’s about black (spoilers!) lesbian/bisexual (there are wlw relationships, so let's just say queer) woman, from a pretty poor family, who was being abused all her life – at first by her father, then by her husband, but she always thought about and cared for people – for her sister, for her children, eventually for her lover. At some point she managed to stand up for her against her husband, get into a good, non-toxic relationship and finally meet her beloved sister, she didn’t see for ages. The music is also great – all so jazzy, with good, interesting sounding voices. The choreography looked good too – collective dances and stuff. I enjoyed it, however, if I hadn’t read the plot beforehand, I wouldn’t have understood anything. Really. Sometimes you just feel the need for a playbill. Probably that was also because the bootleg left much to be desired. Still, thanks to the bootlegger though, if not for them, I wouldn’t be able to watch it all. P.S. You have probably noticed, that this post, even though I enjoyed the musical, is very short. That’s because this musical didn’t “hit the (right) button” for me. That’s exactly why representation matters – because for many people, for example, “Yentl” didn’t hit anything – and for me it hit so hard, and I think that this musical hit very well for many people of colour, queer women and, of course, queer women of colour and that is important.

PSA
Saw that the slur “breeder” has been trending in homosexual and incel spaces. Someone pointed out to me that despite being used as a bi/panphobic slur that’s pretty much applied to anyone with children or in a straight passing relationship, the term also has deep roots in American slavery.

Your daily reminder that a queer black woman with BPD wrote "Don't Lemme Be Misunderstood", NOT Eric Burdon or Joe Cocker. Her name was Nina Simone. Learn it. Say it. Love it.

So far, chances of KOSA being enacted is 31% according to the site linked below.
Tumblr media
Let's get that fucker down to zero, guys!!
Stuff to help us do that is linked here!
The call scripts linked below were originally for Congressional representatives, but now that the bill is in committee consideration by Senate Commerce, you should call your Senators instead and you can use the scripts for them. Also, when calling your Democrat senators, make sure to add that Senator Blackburn explicitly stated in interview that it would be used to "protect children from the transgender." I think it's pretty clear that this is not meant to protect children. It's just going to harm children further, especially trans children.
(Article below with a video of the interview embedded.)
Please help stop this bill in its tracks. Reblog, donate, call your senators, and keep an eye on the bill's chances of being passed. We can't stop now. 31% is still kind of a big number. We need to shrink those chances by a lot more.
