There’s No Place I’d Rather Be

Description: Your first Christmas spent with Ally and Oz.

Note(s): Merry Christmas @billiedeansbottom​! I was honestly really nervous when I got your name, because I absolutely love your writing! Thank you for giving me so much creative freedom for this! I decided on writing some Christmas-themed Ally fluff. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. <33

After what happened with Ivy, Ally was incredibly selective about who she would let into her life; especially who she would let into her home, and around Oz. You felt honoured that she let you in her home, her family; that she let you into her life.

You met her at her restaurant. You went there one night and found yourself utterly captivated by her. You knew that you would be thinking about her every day from the very first time that you saw her.

You were determined to win her over, and eventually, you did. At first, you struck up a friendship with the brunette and after some time, the friendship blossomed into more.

It took her months to completely trust you, to go out with you, and to let you in. So, you waited for her. You were patient, you were kind, you truly cared about her well being, and you respected all of the boundaries that she set. You were everything she needed. Everything that Ivy was not.

You had been dating Ally for just under a year now, and it had been the most fulfilling, luminous, and romantic year of both of your lives. Although it had taken a while for Ally to introduce you to him, you really hit it off with Ozzy.

Ally was already worried about letting someone into her life, let alone into her son's life, but once she saw your first interaction with Oz, she knew, for certain, that you were the one.

This was going to be the first Christmas that you were spending with Ally and Oz together as a family. Needless to say, you were really nervous. What if everything goes wrong? What if Oz doesn't want me there, or what if he thinks I'm trying to replace Ivy?

Of course Ally noticed that you didn't seem yourself, so she convinced you to tell her how you were feeling. When you told her about your worries, she assured you that she and Oz both loved you, and they knew that you loved them too. She told you that it was going to be fine, and that you were all going to have a great Christmas together, as a family.

Ally's unwavering ability to make you feel at ease simply by using her words was one of the things you loved most about her.

Christmas had finally arrived. It was early in the morning and you were snuggled up in bed next to the love of your life. Everything was perfect and peaceful until-

"Mom! Y/N! Wake up! It's Christmas!" Oz shouts, suddenly bursting through the door of your and Ally's shared bedroom.

"Oz, it's 6am! Can't you let us sleep a little longer?" Ally yawns, sleepily trying to reason with an overly ecstatic Oz.

"But mom! I want to open up my gifts." He whines and jumps up onto the bed.

You look at Ally, trying to decipher her reaction. She does love her sleep and she'll probably make him wait a little longer.

"Come on, Ozzy. Let's let your mom sleep a little while longer, I'll make us some hot chocolate and we can open the presents once she comes downstairs, hm?" You ruffle his hair slightly.

"Fine, but only because you're making hot chocolate."

"Thank you." Ally whispers in your ear.

"Anything for you, baby." You reply, pulling her in for a tender kiss.

Suddenly, remembering that Oz was in the room, you swiftly pulled away, breaking the kiss. "We'll finish this later." You winked.

"Alright buddy, let's leave your mom in peace." You get up, pulling your robe on over your pyjamas and put your slippers on.

Once you and Oz are both downstairs, you step into the kitchen and begin making the warm beverages; a cup of coffee for you, and a cup of hot chocolate for Oz.

After about half an hour had passed, you were watching TV with Oz. He was cuddled into your side as you two shared a blanket. You were both too content to hear the footsteps on the staircase.

"Y/N?" Oz suddenly calls your name.

"Yes, Ozzy?" You turn to face him.

"You love my mom, right?"

"Oh, Oz. Of course I do, with all of my heart. There's no one else I'd rather spend my time with." You answer truthfully.

He seems to think about your answer, before asking, "Are you going to marry her?"

"I'd love to marry her someday. Would you be okay with that?"

He ponders his response for a few seconds. "Yeah! You treat her well, and you let me have dessert before dinner sometimes." He smiles brightly.

Suddenly, you hear a soft sniffle coming from the kitchen.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Oz asks, confused by his mother's tears.

"Nothing, Ozzy. I'm just happy." She chuckles. You pull her down to sit next to you, holding her lovingly. You gently wipe the tears form her cheeks and she leans into your touch.

"Okay, let's open presents!" She singsongs, swiftly removing herself from the couch.

She dug through the pile of presents underneath the Christmas tree until she found what she was looking for. "Here you go, Oz. This one's from Y/N and I." She smiles, handing him the beautifully wrapped gift.

He hastily ripped the wrapping paper from the gift. When he realised what it was, his eyes lit up with excitement. You had found a limited edition figurine of the clown from his comic books, and by the looks of it, he really liked it.

"No way! Thank you so much, moms!" He ran up to you and Ally, bringing you both in for a tight group hug.

You and Ally looked at each other, this was the first time he has ever called you mom. You felt yourself tear up a little. She smiled at you and mouthed, "I love you" to which you responded with a toothy grin and an "I love you too".

After Oz had finished opening all of his gifts, he went up to his room to go and play with all of his new toys. Now you and Ally were snuggled up on the couch as she lovingly played with your hair. Since you were finally alone with her, you decided that now is the perfect time to give her her gift.

"Baby?"

She hums in response.

"I know you said not to get you anything, but I just couldn't help myself. Here." You say, handing her a small box.

"Y/N, you shouldn't have."

"You deserve it, baby. You're the best mom to Oz, the kindest soul I've ever met, and the sexiest woman in the universe."

Heat rises to her cheeks at your words. She unties the golden ribbon and unwraps it to reveal a small, black box containing a silver locket. It was heart-shaped, with "I love you" engraved on the front, inside of the locket was a tiny picture of the three of you.

Ally's eyes started glistening with unshed tears. "I love it." She sobbed. "And I love you. Can you help me put it on?"

"I'm glad you love it. Of course, turn around, darling."

She turned so that her back was facing you. You gently moved her hair out of the way and clasped the necklace in place. Once you were done, you left a chaste kiss on the back of her neck.

She turned to face you and leaned forward, pulling you in for a kiss. She kissed you like it was your last embrace, with a fire and passion that drove you crazy; it was as if everyone- and everything- around you had stopped, and you were the last two people on earth.

After a few seconds, you broke the kiss slightly, pecking her lips a last few times before pulling away completely.

"I'm so glad to have you here with Oz and I." Ally whispered.

"There's no place I'd rather be."
