KOSA literally violates the First Amendment freedoms. If this is passed, then that means the Constitution and Bill of Rights are basically void, because Congress are ignoring them. THATS A PROBLEM
As a teen myself, it pisses me off. I wish for anarchy, with everything the US government has been doing, from supporting Israhell to this bullshit.
Please, do what you can to prevent this from getting passed. It violates everyone’s rights in the US, and if it gets passed, then we’re back to where we started; a monarchy. Just with far too many people.

the uk government is trying to scrap the human rights act.
i’ve not seen a lot in the media about this so i’m going to do my best to put this into words and explain what will happen if the government is successful in replacing the human rights act with the bill of rights (aka the rights removal bill).
this will mean that in the uk:
you won’t be allowed to say anything negative about the government
if you are disabled or chronically ill, you won’t be allowed to say no to being given a DNR in hospital
you won’t be allowed to bring ‘trivial’ human rights violations to court
public authorities (the police) won’t have to actively protect people’s human rights
the uk military will be allowed to basically do whatever they want overseas
if you ever commit a crime, they can disregard your human rights
the government will not be obligated to obey human rights
if you are from the uk PLEASE sign this petition, and also to everyone else, please please please share this.

Right to Life
Has anyone thought of bringing up the fact that by denying someone who could die if they do not receive that abortion, about the fact that they would be denied a part of the bill of rights. Specifically the right to life. If this abortion would infringe on the fact that they would die without it and are being denied it because of other laws. The bill of rights trumps those laws technically and that person is being denied their right to life.

September 25, 1941 marked the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights. Six thousand people turned up in front of the Sub-Treasury Building on Wall Street for the opening of the three-month celebration. (How many of them would endorse the rights contained in the constitutional amendments is another question.)

In amidst all of the news coverage on the Queen’s funeral and Charles’s coronation, I don’t want this to disappear:
“…version included a commitment to repeal laws that “allow harmful practices, or restrict women’s and girls’ … sexual and reproductive health and rights, bodily autonomy”.”
“…very unclear as to why the sections on sexual and reproductive health were withdrawn at such a late stage and apparently with no consultation or discussion.””
The article is from July — (and Liz Truss is now officially Prime Minister) — but this matter has not been resolved, and there’s a suspiciously little amount of coverage on it. This is being done very, very quietly and honestly the Queen’s death has made everything worse because all news coverage is on that.
For context, this is a part of the Bill Of Rights which would replace the Human Rights Act in the UK if passed, so you can understand that this is a Big Deal.
Nothing may come of it, but I just want to raise awareness — even if you’re not from the UK or have no interest in politics — that this is what the shitty government is doing. We’ve seen what happened with Roe v Wade, and although this isn’t a ban on abortion, it’s the first step towards one.

Happy Bill of Rights Day! Today, we celebrate the adoption of the first ten amendments to the United States Constitution, which were added on December 15, 1791. These amendments, collectively known as the Bill of Rights, were designed to protect the fundamental rights of American citizens.
The Bill of Rights was not originally part of the United States Constitution. The Constitution was ratified by the states in 1788, but it did not include any explicit protections for individual rights. This led to concerns, particularly in the smaller states, who feared that the new government would be too powerful and violate individuals' rights.

The Bill of Rights was introduced by James Madison in the first session of the United States Congress in 1789 and was ratified by the states in 1791. This actually deserves its own post, so I'm going to say it again
A constitutional convention is a TERRIBLE IDEA.
I can't stress this enough. Think of every politician you know. Not just the one or two you like. Not just Donald Trump and the Republicans who backed him (and mostly flip flopped on that backing depending on what they thought would give them the best chance of being reelected), not just DeSantis, but all of them. Would you trust AOC to rewrite the constitution? Because you bet your ass the Democrats will be taking her input, if not actively having her write her version to put up for a vote. Even when it gets rejected, some of what she writes will make it in when the Republicans inevitably cave on important stances in the interest of another mostly one sided "compromise". Don't believe me? Look how many traitors are supporting the gun control lite that's currently going through congress.
Would you trust Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell to stand up for the principals of limited government and personal freedom? Would you trust the people voting on any new constitution to even read it, let alone understand what it is they're voting for? Would you trust the voting machines to properly tally ratification votes? Would you trust groups like BLM and Everytown for Gun Safety to have input? Would you trust politicians with ties to China, Soros, and the WEF to put the interests of the country ahead of global interests? Would you trust the media to accurately report on what's in each draft of the new constitution? Would you trust Google and Facebook to not censor the drafts that get put online? Would you trust any of these people or groups with your rights?
Think of everyone you talk to online. Think of your friends and family. Think of your coworkers. Would you want them rewriting the constitution? Would you trust them with your rights?
If the answer to a single one of these questions isn't an emphatic "hell yes!" then you can't support a constitutional convention. Rewriting the constitution now would be a disaster. We would lose more than we gain, if we even gain anything. The country is way too big for a consensus. Any document will be a mess of conflicting interests all trying to get their agendas passed. Our rights will be, at best, a distant 10th or 11th place in the drafting of a new constitution. At worst, they won't even be considered. Our politicians don't study the classic Greek and Roman philosophers. They don't have their morals informed by religion or family or study of history. The only philosophy they read are Marks and Engels, Osteen and Coulter, Vice and TMZ. The only morals they have are informed in most cases by decades in Washington. There is no one alive right now who I would trust in rewriting the constitution. Not even myself. As a society, we aren't equipped for it, morally or emotionally. Whatever fantasy you have of rewriting the constitution to be everything you want it to be will never come true. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Anyone who tries is either incredibly stupid, or lying to you. Don't be a fool. Don't let the enemies of this country and our constitution rewrite the very foundation of our laws.
