I like art ok I like learning about old dudes and how much they hated other artists I like that but I was an insufferable 12 y old child when I had actual art classes that were trying to teach me stuff u know my school actually wanted to teach us art stuff but I was such a demon I remember one of my big projects was like a painting or something and I gave my teacher a pink rock it wasn't even a cool rock I got it from outside the classroom I did literally not care. I remember that we also needed to make a big drawing or painting idk I didn't follow the rules I actually just painted a meter big garden w dirt and mud and gave it to the teach and I remember her literally like siiiighhh this is ur final project this is like the only thing u turned in we had like 10 other easier stuff why do u come here w dirt

I don't actually know how I passed my classes when I was 12-13 I was smart but like I was also insufferable and I'm sorry for my teachers

this is a very interesting topic to think about. i’ve read several rants on pocs getting “‘attractive’ (debatable), european features” when they’re drawn with less….. stereotype-y features? so it’s conforming to western beauty or whatever they claim that to be >:Ic

ah yeah i’ve seen those posts!! But really, there’s this mental set (even among Asians) that White features = Attractive. It’s really disturbing because: 1) Stereotyped features aren’t ugly when drawn normally. Curly hair, big lips, flat nose, etc etc aren’t ugly features, 2) With this kind of mentality they’re trying to draw characters as “POC” as possible w/e that means. They’re scared that if they don’t draw them exactly what people think how POC looks, they’re going to get backlash

Its funny because,, they don’t want to be racist. I know they’re nice people. But at the same time,,, they draw like how racist people would //siiiighhh
