Grizzly Fate

Relax, this is the mostly non-angsty one, Buford just really likes bears and has a dark sense of humor.

So Isabella actually discovers her electricity powers before Buford finds out about his magical aptitude, which means Buford gets the same hero envy Gwen did in the original, just applied to five people/four heroes instead of just one, and we get a more-or-less direct adaptation of Lucky Girl for his first introduction to magic. Part of the less is that he manages to get his hands on one of Charmcaster’s spellbooks towards the end of the episode, so the powers stick a lot earlier.

Hex is Hex, not much to say there, while Charmcaster is around the same age as the kids like the reboot version but has an appearance and personality more based on the classic version. Also she likes flirting with Baljeet, not so much because she actually likes him as because it makes Buford and Ginger angry, which amuses her.

Because he starts learning magic sooner than Gwen did(and because even though I’ve been adapting some canon episodes doesn’t mean I’m gonna do all of them, or do them in the original order) he also finds out about his Anodite heritage sooner. This leads to an episode where his absent father shows up hoping to teach him about his powers, which everybody is having absolutely none of, least of all Buford and Biffany, because he seriously only shows up now when his kid gets fancy powers after not being around at all before and thinks he can just act like nothing’s wrong with that?! I think the fuck not!

Also Buford’s costume is somewhat similar to Gwen’s(you know, the few times she bothered with one), just more grungey and bear-themed instead of cat-themed. His full Anodite form is still purple and pink like Gwen’s because I think he could totally rock those colors.

This post is a follow up to post #3 pertaining to the fireside girls, but you don't need to read that post to understand this post. This post will mainly be basic information pertaining to the male cast of Phineas and Ferb characters in the same age range as the fireside girls. I will likely make a post similar for the older characters, but for now this one is necessary for my plans for post #5. First on the chopping block is, Phineas Flynn: Phineas is an erratic young boy who I believe to have ADHD. He is morally driven though those morals aren't always the best morals. He despises boredom and wasting his time doing things he doesn't enjoy. Unlike his brother, Thor cares little if at all for the fame Thaddeus pursues. Similarly, he cares nothing for the rivalry his brother insist on having with the Flynn-Fletcher duo, though this is something he does not bother to state. combat boots with bunny rabbit ties, goldfish, gumballs, unironically wearing things with skulls, poetry readings, holding other people up, never acting as smart as you are, calluses on your hands from punching and writing in equal measure, holding it in, speaking when no one else will, a closed door and an open window.

MISC ://

buford has a protective streak that he can’t speak, so he usually expresses it by gruff pushing-around and glaring. that was really the only way he expressed affection until he was about fifteen, fixing himself by putting things back together again emotionally. he worked with himself a lot so that he could have healthy and developed relationships with other people. that, however, does not mean that he always executes ‘being a good person’ to his best ability.

he doesn’t like to say it, but a lot of his redemption arc is all the fault of baljeet tjinder and phineas flynn. baljeet for persistence, and phineas for seeing beneath all the gruffness and being a jerk little kid to the boredom underneath. he would probably have to be under pain of death to actually thank either of them.

if he was going to go to college instead of doing a job that he can get without it, buford was going to major in film. he really thought about it, about going to college with his friends and being a normal person, but the thought of going off to college before the rest of his friends was not okay. he tells people he just didn’t want to go to school anymore, was tired of being told what to do.

every single pet he’s ever had has been named after his mom, biffany. he has a fish right now called biff, but biff is the third of his kind. buford is still very protective of the fish, and particular about who takes care of him. he has a feeding schedule on the wall next to his tank.

he stole things to get attention as a kid; he doesn’t do that anymore. well. he doesn’t do that very much anymore - stealing baljeet’s textbooks when he needs to sleep and snatching phineas’s blueprints when he’s the same doesn’t count.
