Nancy Pelosi -shut your mouth and LISTEN because yes you DO have blood on your hands. The audacity of these genocidal apologists and aggressors is seemingly boundless.
Just a reminder that the Biden administration does not want foreign/western journalists to be able to enter Gaza and document/show the public the full carnage of Israeli's actions:
And another note because it doesn't get talked about enough - the reason that the wide majority of foreign press are not in Gaza right now is because Israel will not allow them in, as they've regularly done for years; and because these organizations have never cared enough to establish a permanent presence.
I think Biden stopped taking the online anti-voting Left seriously (if he was ever aware of them) when the people that spent 4 years saying Obama’s drone usage made him worse than Trump in order to make their Both Sides arguments made nary a peep when Biden stopped nearly all US drone operations.
voting a dem into the presidential office is harm reduction in the same way that having 3rd degree burns over every part of your body except for your pinky finger is technically a reduced amount of harm from having 3rd degree burns everywhere. it's technically true that one involves less damage but in either circumstances the consequences are more or less the same
It's called Accusation in a Mirror and it's very intentional as part of their propaganda, going back to Joseph Goebbels:
"Accuse the other of which you're guilty."
You can see a clear example of it in the Republicans' attempt to smear Biden for the kind of nepotism and corruption that Trump did openly during his presidency.
While we're on the subject: there's a reason "inflation has stopped!" isn't a super compelling message to many (most?) non-economists. For one thing, it didn't stop as projected, though it has slowed down. For another, all that fundamentally would mean if it did is that prices are no longer rising due to inflationary pressure. It doesn't mean they go back down. It doesn't mean wages rise to cover the gap. It just means that commodity prices for consumers stop increasing for this one reason (they could still increase because the supplier decides to charge more for instance).
It's like going to the ER with a gunshot wound and them applying a tourniquet and sending you on your way. Like, huzzah, the bleeding has stopped. That is good. But until you take the bullet out, disinfect the wound, and provide some blood to offset what was lost, the patient is not made whole.
Today the EPA finalized rules that fully ban the use of asbestos in the US. This is a massive step forward for the safety of American workers and American consumers. Asbestos is linked to more than 40,000 deaths every year, not just from lung and laryngeal cancer and mesothelioma, but also from ovarian cancer.
This is yet another instance where who resides in the White House matters. This was a part of the Biden policy regarding preventing, treating and curing cancers brought to fruition.
Donald Trump is a big supporter of asbestos and asbestos products, and wanted to increase its use in the US despite its risks and harms being well-known for a half century. If re-elected Trump will undoubtedly do his best to undo today’s rule, and he and the far right caucus of congressional Republicans would like to eliminate the EPA altogether.
(It is probably just a giant coincidence that the majority of asbestos in the world is produced in Russia by oligarch-owned companies. Probably.)
