In order to not write my final paper, imma list the differences between Sukuna&Yuuji twin AUs from the western (ao3) and eastern (pixiv) fandom.

Note: Nothing about this is absolute and exceptions exist. I just don't wanna waste space by always using "mostly" or "almost always". And remember, this is my own impression after reading through a hella lot of SukuIta twin stuff and going through a hella lot of SukuIta content on pixiv.

Ao3 has Sukuna be the older one, pixiv has Yuuji be older

Ao3 has Sukuna be more of an asshole and possessive in an aggressive way, on pixiv he's a quiet tsundere and possessive in a clingy way

Yuuji is a ray of sunshine, but on Ao3 its him being a sweet cinnamon roll, on pixiv its him being a caring and supporting brother

On Ao3, the AUs are just that - AUs. On pixiv, the twin AUs are connected to the canon by making them reincarnations of Yuuji and Sukuna, and making a big point out of which of them remembers their past life and which doesn't

On pixiv, Gojo is usually around to hit on Yuuji and for Sukuna to hate the guts out of him for it

After a lot of thinking, I came to the conclusion that Sukuna is the younger one on pixiv because people love to write with that tsundere streak, since he doesn't like Yuuji in canon but they also want brotherly love. So he loves Yuuji, but doesn't show it. And Yuuji is the open-hearted loveball who has lots of emotional intelligence, so to make this brotherhood work, he needs to be the one to take action, and that makes him more fit for the role of oldest.

On Ao3, Sukuna is the older one because his possessiveness and evil behaviour get more focus, so having Yuuji be the sweet little brother makes more sense.

The whole "they reincarnated as twins" thing is something I can't remember ever having read on Ao3, but its the norm on pixiv. I assume its a good way to make a plot happen that has both angst and sweetness.

Honestly, the Gojo thing also happens on Ao3, I just see it more often on pixiv.

To finish my thoughts, I wanna tell yall about one twin AU comic I read on pixiv that lives rent-free in my head:

Sukuna seeing a girl being cornered by guy

Sukuna leaving

Yuuji showing up to punch the guy

Next day, the girl going up to Yuuji to give him a present for his help

Yuuji being like "Huh? What are you talking about?"

Yuuji understanding that Sukuna was the one to help the girl while pretending to be Yuuji by pushing his hair down

That comic is so damn adorable and I love it forever and ever-

Something I once talked about in my priv twitter but it’s priv so imma public it here lol, but it’s just a headcanon of mine that surprisingly I never saw anyone talking about? (Understandable tho seeing how many skip this filler episode). Battle DJs’ beys, to be more specific in this case: Earth Eagle 145WD, the bey model that according to Kenta and Madoka, was a special limited model only available at one tournament in the past

Well guess what tournament in the far, far past that involved an Earth Eagle’s owner with that exact built.

Beyblading in the verse is a popular sport similar to how we host pokemon or yugioh tournament irl. So it’s nice to think that WBBA will produce some limit special color variations of the winner’s bey combo, like how GameFreak would distribute the ace monster of a world tournament's champion via online mystery gift. Henceforth JP battle DJ’s bey is the above model, when we know that he was the one overseeing the tournament that Tsubasa won. The two was probably some good casual friends and college, seeing how he probably knew Tsubasa but played him off as “a mysterious new blader in town” during metal Fusion to cover his secret agent’s ass.

That would be enough. From this point forward, it’s gonna be a wild ride from my random useless info so bear with me if u wanna keep reading.

The fact that in the flashback, Tsubasa was shown to be a pretty well known blader to the point that he had both fanclub and hateclub tells how much a big deal both him and that tournament were. Somethign something, a very important and big tournament that happens every five years at least. And why do i have that number? Tsubasa’s fostered eagle. A bald eagle doesn’t sprout out black feather to have that white head as they grow, but they grow up into black feathers for *at least* 5 years until they can finally develop that beautiful white head.

The writers and animators for mfb are known to pay attention to little details in storytelling, so it’s not a reach to reach to a conclusion that the tournaments back then held every five years.

In conclusion: Tsubasa spent at least five years being a righteously sour loser. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Tushan Jing/Ye Shiqi: deeply insane about Xiaoyao, likes giving her stuff and listens to everything she says, extremely rich smart handsome and talented, genuinely sweet and kind, is actively courting her. Engaged to someone else and has so many personal issues that it’s just a mess honestly. (These personal issues could be overlooked for her if he’d just de-engage himself, but unfortunately he is locked in a gothic romance of a family so that’s not going very well.)

Xiang Liu/Fangfeng Bei: absurdly in love with Xiaoyao, takes her on fun dates, handsome intelligent and charming and has hella chemistry with her, encourages her hobbies (archery, food, poison), likes munching on snacks she makes him (poison). Extremely dangerous and temperamental, has physically and emotionally hurt Xiaoyao on multiple occasions, easily hurt by things Xiaoyao says or does unintentionally thus causing him to lash out, has yet to explain to her that he’s in love with her, and is Cang Xuan’s enemy one way or another. (Initial power dynamics aside, I can see how they’re pretty evenly matched now. Princess marries a crazy powerful demon general. They enjoy date nights and regular poisonings.)

Cang Xuan: would do many many many many MANY things for Xiaoyao and likes to brew wine. Is not remotely courting her because they are very firmly entrenched in a brother-sister relationship, is perfectly capable of tyrannical jealousy given leeway to act on it, also he’s very busy rn trying to become king. (The premise of this show is that CX is a suitor of XY’s but. I really don’t think he’s a love interest for her. He’s just a person she might spend her life with.)

Chishui Fenglong: allied with Cang Xuan, has yet to display any signs of mental illness, has never hurt Xiaoyao, has a normal relationship with his family, has a working brain, and thinks Xiaoyao is pretty and cool. Probably would be completely in over his head in a relationship with Xiaoyao, “is too much like Cang Xuan” according to the lady herself, not nearly as magnetic as the others. (He’s so so normal. Unfortunately, Xiaoyao has different taste.)

And I feel you regarding Sukuna and hating him as a person in canon while enjoying him as a character. That's why I write SukuIta actually, to make him make it up to Yuuji. And also to torment him a bit. XD

Well I have exactly one (1) SukuIta fic which I write because I read another fic in which people thought they were father and son (Was with OG Suku) and I thought "A dynamic between them that could be seen as a very fucked up father-son relationship sounds interesting! I wanna write that!"

I’m feeling a little spicy this morning so I’m sorry if I say something wrong, but this shit is really eating me. And it’s part of the reason why I don’t mess with Twitter anymore. So of course, the Grammys were last night and everybody’s talking about it. I don’t really watch awards shows like that but from what I could tell, Beyoncé got nominated and didn’t win, loss to harry styles??? idk nor do I care. Everybody’s all on the timeline, ranting about how it’s an injustice and it’s wrong and this that and the third, right? Which, fair enough, they fuck my sis over every year. They nominate her for views and give it to some subpar nobody who probably didn’t do half her sales. That’s cool or whatever but I can’t help but be over the entire conversation. And this is no shade to Bey bc I love her and I loved Renaissance. With that being said, I couldn’t give a fuck less about these celebrities’ problems when our world is falling apart. I can’t give a fuck if she got 32 Grammies instead of 33 when people can’t even afford to pay rent this month or even buy a fucking carton of eggs. I know this comes off as “fake woke” and fuck it, so be it. But I can’t understand how people are so complicit with our country’s conditions and simultaneously putting these celebs and trivial problems up on a pedestal. Now just two days ago, people were badgering Netflix about the whole password sharing thing and they got them to change it, last night, people were tweeting the Grammys like they had killed their grandmas, cussing them out on behalf of a woman who doesn’t even know they exist. I mean, full on doing the most. And ykw, it is bullshit. But ykw else is bullshit? The fact that billions of dollars went to another country without any semblance of explanation, food shortages everywhere, income having to be three times your rent and not a single job is actually hiring, not to mention the fact that people are getting pennies back in income tax despite paying higher rates this year and the police being funded $1.8 billion and their only skill is killing unarmed black people..no one is getting angry enough about it!
