Some notable mentions:

Favor by Kiki Clark - Book one in a trilogy. I own both available books in this series and the third one comes out next week. I'll be honest, it's been a while since I've read this, so I can't give you specifics, but Kiki Clark is one of those authors I trust enough to grab their stuff immediately.

In The Shadows by Hailey Turner - Book #3 in a 6-part series. Not sure why book 3 is free instead of book 1 but I will tell you that the whole series is on KU and it's pretty cool. Good X-Men vibes if the X-Men were a branch of law enforcement. I own the whole series in paperback. HT is heavy on the plot but she also throws some casual kink into her sex scenes. Alexei is one of my favorite characters and this is his romance. It feature a good couple'a tropes that I'm a sucker for. [HIGHLY recommend the audiobooks, too, if anyone is interested. I found this series through Audible.]

Lost Touch by Eliot Grayson - The 7th book in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone. A lot of books in the series aren't really connected, or only tangentially connected. Another series I own the paperbacks for. I read this book while DEEP in my depression state, though, so I remember almost nothing about it but EG is another author I automatically grab. [In case you're wondering, my favorite of the series is the one just before this, Lost & Bound. Only free if you have KU, though.]

Lacuna by N.R. Walker - I have not read this book, but I do know the author and I tend to like their stories. I'm looking forward to this one since it has fantasy elements. Most of NRW's stuff is contemporary, and the works I've read by them are among those.

Drive Me Crazy by Beth Bolden - I have read this one, it's decent if you want something that's a quick read. BB has a couple of different food-related series that are interconnected so there are mentions of other couples but I didn't have a problem following it without having read the others. [Sweet As Pie is another BB title and a better read imo but it's only free if you have KU.]

The Wrangler & the Orphan by Jackie North -- JN has another series called Love Across Time. I've read most of that series and own it in paperback. I haven't read this series, so I can't vouch for it, but the other one was pretty good.

Here are some authors on the list that are hit or miss for me, but fair warning, I haven't read any of the titles:

Professor Daddy by Nora Phoenix -- I own this one, but I don't seem to remember it? Maybe if I re-read it, idk. NP is technically a good writer, I just think they infodump too much sometimes and I find myself glazing a lot. I like books that I'm invested in emotionally and I don't find myself too invested in NP's stuff.

King of Askara by Victoria Sue - I own things by VS but some of their stuff is objectively terrible. I haven't read this title, I don't know which it will turn out to be.

Out of the Frying Pan by Elouise East - I have this ongoing probably where I know I've read things by Elouise East because the name is familiar but I can't for the life of me remember the title or if I liked it. I'm guessing they're somewhere in the middle re: writing, because if it was terrible, I'd remember it.

The Problem by Piper Scott -- They also write under Emma Alcott and I own all of EA's books in paperback. I also own all of Forbidden Desires (y'know, that dragon-shifter series I talked about a while ago) in paperback.

I cannot vouch for any other Piper Scott titles, but I do know that everything where her co-author is Susi Hawke is objectively terrible.

Believe Boomer being arrested had to do with his faking his death, knowing about the money laundering at F&F (from Turner in S1), etc.

I guess you’re probably right, but also, can you go to jail for faking your death?? Liike, they’d surely make you pay for whatever the investigation/research cost, but not go to prison, am I right?

The money laudering part does make sense, but was it explicitely stated that when Beth put incriminating papers against Rio’s gang in the vault during the second robbery these did involve Boomer too? Also it seems that investigations against Rio ended with Turner’s death so why would anyone unearth that old case just to press charges against a very secondary link in the chain?

Idk. I guess that if the show didn’t bother to explain why Boomer was going to prison while they literally had the perfect exposition scene to do it, that’s because they have no idea either. They just needed him to come back and escape prison for *reasons*, and voilà

okay this is gonna bite me in the ass but I did this after watching interviews, obviously nothing's set in stone but I kinda wanted to do this before everyone's political views are put on blast and the death threats start to fly so POLITICS ASIDE, this is what I think:

Taylor: I'm sorry but she is too good to be true. Her overall vibe in the interviews gave me Tiffany but better, and y'all are hyping her so much that I feel like she's gonna get eaten ALIVE by the tag if she gives 90% of what she can give. I like her energy though, so she goes on S tier.

Marvin: I am basing this on energy alone and he just looks like a guy who's loving life. I can tell that he's never watched the show bc he seemed very confused during the interview, it kinda gave me Derek X but in a different way, idk we'll see what happens in premiere night

Monte: ngl I like his vibe too! I think he might be my winner's pick. I'm usually wrong but then again I thought Xavier was going to perform extremely well last season and he won.

Paloma: why do i like this girl why do i like this girl why do i like this girl-

But for real, I've always started to gravitate towards the youngest HG in recent seasons bc they represent a future generation and they're the blankest slate, so there's more potential to be had. I have the same feeling about her that I have about BB20 Haleigh and BB23 Hannah so we'll see if she continues the trend. She might make it into legend status in the near future. Go maknae line!

Michael: I really like him but he gives off "insert HG is a superfan they should know what they're doing bc they've seen the show a lot" energy 😂 I feel like he's the Azah of the season tbh

Ameerah: ngl I thought she was gonna be too good to be true too but I really like her!

Indy: I was gonna put her on MOR bc she seemed checked out and a lot of her answers were pretty generic but then she grabbed my attention when her answer for the first question was basically "I would do this for now but I won't know until I get into the house" which is the CORRECT ANSWER BTW. You can't exactly predict what's gonna happen in the house until you actually get in the house. We thought BB23 was gonna have some drama and aside from the first three weeks and Kyland's eviction, it was a giant party 24/7.

Brittany: I don't know, I feel like she's gonna be a more crackheaded Sarah Beth 😂

Daniel: I thought his background was interesting but his answers were pretty generic and his vibe was inhibited... idk maybe he'll improve.

Matt Turner or whatever: Same as Daniel tbh, kinda boring, he also looks like McCrae which I did not appreciate, we'll just see what happens

Jasmine: I'm just getting the feeling that she's trying to be another BB21 Jessica but she just had a unique vibe to her that Jasmine doesn't have, I'm sorry. We'll see what happens though, I think there's a lot more to her that she can give in the house.

Nicole: She seems nice, but also seems a bit boring. Also the near deification that Derrick gets is annoying, like I get it, he's a winner but to me that's all he is. also i think she might be our only AAPI representation and if she is i'm scareddddddddd

Kyle: Yeah this guy deserves his own tier. When I said he was a Brottie love child I MEANT THAT SHIT, and I'm not sure that's a good thing - a guy with Brett's level of cringe but could possibly play like Scottie, I AM TERRIFIED YOUR HONOR 💀 But seriously why is he here? He already has a huge following on Tiktok. He doesn't need this show. Him getting onto the show with the political views that the tag has shown him to have is going to be a mental health catastrophe. I'm not rooting for him, but I hope he's okay after this.

Beth x Turner

Honestly, I have kind of complicated feelings about them as a ship! On the one hand, I love them together and their dynamic as characters, and I think Christina and James have bonkers good chemistry, and I really love @missmaxime's fic, Ain't No Sunshine. All of that makes them sexy and interesting and really like - - textural and rich to me as a ship.

On the other hand, this show has such limited diversity when it comes to sexuality, and given Turner's one of the only gay or bi characters to feature a seem same-sex love interest (since Tyler and Rio's neighbour aren't shown with anyone, and Dave and Glen seem to just be a hook up), I tend to like to keep him with Douglas because I feel like that context gives that relationship a particular significance in my head?

It's a tricky one though, because like I said, there's definitely a lot to like about Beth x Turner as a ship!

Send me a ship and I'll give you my (brutally) honest opinion on it.

It's high time for an updated view of the neighbourhood as I've added a few lots since the last time a few rounds ago.

There will still be a bit more expansion in Round 11, as I have plans to build a cemetery (now that we have need of one 😢) on the road leading off to the left as well as another town-owned rental lot - provided there are sufficient town funds available - and I will of course be adding a University.
