TRIVIA

Berthier’s name is derived from the mineral berthierite.

She was the second youngest of the Ayakashi Sisters.

Much like her rival Sailor Mercury, Berthier’s element was water.

In the manga, Sailor Moon killed Berthier. Yet in the first anime adaptation, Berthier survived and she was eventually purged of evil.

Berthier’s signature attack was Dark Water. In episode 71, Berthier attempted to kill herself as well as everyone else with Dark Water Full Power until Koan convinced her not to.

Berthier had a tendency to add the “chan” honorific to her droid’s names. In general, Berthier spoke formally with everyone.

Other Sailor Moon characters that Yuri Amano voiced are: Puko (episode 132), Kiriko (episode 145), and CereCere.

I always wonder what were the four Ayakashi sister name relevance. Kinda like the shitennou. Calaveras means Skulls in spanish. But in both the jpn and eng dub they pronounce it wrong. Did naoko coincidentally name her after a word. Or did she mean to? And if she did what's the relevance to the other sisters? If their names even relate in the first place. And if they don't what makes Calaveras so special. Sorry if it's very confusing.

I had a feeling that people smarter than me had figured this one out, and I was right! So here’s what’s according to one source:

Kooan is comprised of two of the three Kanji that represent Kooankou (紅安鉱), a mineral that is also known as Kermesite and Red Antimony. The “Kermes” part of Kermesite means “Crimson.” The Kanji character that is missing is the character for a “mineral” or “ore.”*

Beruche is a shortened form of the mineral, Berucheko (the ko part that was removed is the Kanji for “mineral/ore”). Berucheko is the Japanese name for Berthierite.*

Calaveras’ name comes from the mineral karaberasuko which is the Japanese name for Calaverite. The ko that is missing from her name is the Kanji character that means “mineral/ore.”*

Petz’s name comes from the mineral Pettsuko, which is what the Japanese call the mineral Petzite. (the missing ko in the Romanization is the Kanji for “mineral/ore.”)*

The Blue Girls Club

It occurs to me a few years back that there are plenty of characters with ice-based powers. and plenty of characters who are in constant blue. Especially in anime. It's all understandable since blue is a popular color. lol I know in Sailor Moon alone there are about 4 villains who have ice powers and wears blue. So for these reasons one day I drew a picture with Sailor Mercury, Berthier/Beruche (An SM villain with ice powers) and Elsa from Frozen cuz I wonder how fun it would be for all these girls to meet. I wanted Sailor Mercury to wonder whether or not to be friends with these two chicks. lol It's a fun world's collide pic with nothing but blue people. Yes, I could have added Palla-Palla, Viluy and Aluminium Siren but I wasn't thinking about them when I was sketching the drawing. Maybe I'll draw them eventually. lol Maybe I should add the blue power ranger! lol I'm glad on the snowflake, it's hand drawn since I don't have any snowflake stencils. Ok so my blue period is over for now. I need to work on my other colors now.
