June 21, 2023- First day of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere
Howdy, howdy! It's officially Summertime in my part of the world which means a new art piece to celebrate the changing of the seasons!
Tumblr media
Solana (in red) goes by they/xe pronouns!
Interested in a commission? Info found here ♡.
I'm very excited to finally draw mi amor Charlie, and to draw such a sweet, warm moment between him and Solana ;--;! Fun fact: they almost have their first kiss in the ocean just like this scene here, although they're both wearing normal clothes at the time and have just narrowly escaped an axe wielding murderer so they quickly get to swimming to shore instead of kissing and hold off till later!
Here, though, in this scene, I like to think of them having a well deserved summer holiday, probably somewhere in South Florida where the water is warm and Sol has to make sure Charlie doesn't get sunburnt when they aren't enjoying sunny smooches with their partner ♡
Previous finished works in the Seasonal Celebration of Love Series: SPRING

Vickers Family Reception at the Harn Museum
Surrounded by family and friends, Samuel and Roberta Vickers celebrate the opening "A Florida Legacy: Gift of Samuel H. and Roberta T. Vickers” exhibit showcasing the Vickers family over 140 piece art collection gifted during a reception for the to the Harn Museum of Art at the University of Florida.
“The Vickers Collection is unique in its power to convey both the exquisite natural beauty and the rich history of people in Florida — the ruggedness and grandeur of its landscapes and the highs and lows of its human history through the centuries,” UF President Kent Fuchs said. “Sam and Robbie have shared a treasure with us, and we are thrilled to have the privilege of sharing their collection in turn with all visitors to the Harn Museum.”
As an integral part of the University of Florida campus, the Harn Museum of Art will share the Vickers’ gift as an important new resource to strengthen faculty collaboration, support teaching and enhance class tours, and provide research projects for future study. “A Florida Legacy” is organized along six thematic sections that address many prominent subjects represented in the Vickers Collection: nature, history, landmarks, diversions, living and impressions.
The “Florida Nature” section includes iconic views of Florida forests, beaches and wetlands.
The “Florida History” section includes nineteenth-century drawings of important figures in Seminole history, an early map of Florida, and early depictions of historic cities such as St. Augustine.
The “Florida Landmarks” section showcases views of historic forts, town squares and city parks in a number of cities across the state.
The “Florida Diversions” section features familiar sites such as people enjoying themselves at crowded beaches and at popular destinations such as racetracks, Silver Springs, and the Everglades.
The “Florida Living” section focuses on Florida scenery, domestic architecture and scenes of daily life.
Lastly, the “Florida Impressions” includes lively sketches on paper that were created “on the spot” and represent the artists’ immediate, personal responses to their Florida subjects.

Bernie Fuchs. 1932/2009
Not really sure what to say about him that would be different from anybody else’s point of view. The man was THE man. The legend AND the stuff legends are made of. The enfant terrible of illustration in the late 50’s, all throughout the 60’s and till the slow death of print illustration in the 70’s. I know, Illustration is not dead, far from it, but THIS format of magazine art, the way it was done, commissioned, paid for, the world that went with it is a piece of history now. For better or for worse.
When I discovered the first image in this post I was blown away. I was instantly charmed. The longer I looked at it the longer I was mesmerized. Fuchs had started in the 50’s, working in car ads in Detroit. The job was very specific. There were strict rules. Someone usually did the car and another artist would do the characters. The poses were clear, clean, behind the car. It was all very staged, all very efficient. Fuchs was probably drinking beer or something at the time and asked someone to hold It for him while he went about to completely dismantle this system, going into the streets to capture everyday life, placing people in Front of the cars, overall stepping all over the established codes of the time. He was both admired for it and called a prima Dona for it. He didn’t last in Detroit. Moved to New York and started getting jobs for Mc Call and other well known magazines at the time. The bigger leagues. He was the kid who started taking jobs away from the older, more established artists, and he did it with a smile from what I read.
His work was new, different. It felt alive. The characters weren’t as stiff as they used to be in previous illustrations, there was a looseness to the brush work. Everybody wanted to have him work on their campaigns and every illustrator wanted to be him.
I look at his work. Not as often as I used to when I was younger. I look at it to remind myself that people can draw and paint like this, can tell such strong stories in one images and can push themselves constantly to come up with new ideas, new themes, new compositions Toward the later part of his career, after being incredibly well established, Bernie started experimenting with new techniques, new approaches. This body of work is not often the one that people remember the most but I love seeing his brain at work. Having the courage to leave behind what is a sure success to try something new, untested, unproven, knowing that it could very well be rejected is inspiring. That is the other thing about Bernie Fuchs. He was inspiring. He still is.

WIP Fake Wednesday
@unknownhomosapien tagged me but I’m the worse person to ask for wips because a lot of them are very messy
Some I don’t really want to show because I feel proud of them and should be posted like a surprise thing, others are so bad I don’t know what I drew💀
These are the ok ones maybe will finish them some day
This one is the song I said last time that I imagine them at the beach holding hand like afterlife feeling The lyrics translate to:
Would you mind, would you mind if I pretended we were back at this beach?
I always imagine them when I listen to the song😔 it’s just sound sorrowful but elegant
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This next one on the top right is also inspired by same band (I listened to them too much it became an addiction) it’s just them on a boat in this mood(by Bernie fuchs)
Tumblr media
trying to make it intimate 🫶 here is the song lyrics translation because my handwriting bad:
In the morning we imagine a boat
One day, yes, one day, we’ll take a trip on it
Front and back
Front and back
The surface of the water and the sky are side by side
Front and back
Front and back
I turn into a flying fish who gazes at the morning sun, amused
the rest of the page is just me drawing nerevar’s face and some voryn’s too
The body study started from that page too X)
This is where I draw nerevar blushing because I needed it on my book, it’s always in my head I want it out of my brain👹 it took a couple try, gonna draw more because still not satisfied. (I drew too many nerevar where is Voryn appreciation)
Tumblr media
I always have this idea of them being the opposite, for this blushing instance Voryn blushes when he is with nerevar in the public and nervar blushes more when in private with Voryn, it’s fun to play with contrast
Tumblr media
This is just me being heehee hoohoo this is happening in my head I want to see it
Lyrics Credit:
I lazy to tag ppl 🧍‍♂️
Thx for coming to my ted talk about nerevoryn
