Ben Shapiro complaining about how Glass Onion had "misdirection's" and tricked the viewer is almost as funny as him falling in love with femboy tiktok. This schmuck is so determined to hate anything that critiques his world view that he complains about a murder mystery movie being mysterious. Wait till he learns that poirot was a refugee who faced xenophobia, that miss maple was a single woman with no men to help her- or that sherlock holmes was partially inspired by oscar "homiesexual" wilde and that one of his mysteries dealt with a woman trying to protect her mixed daughter from Victorian racism.

Obsessing over fictional men isn't healthy. I'm sure there's a certain name to this disorder and an effective therapy to fix it. But even if I had a chance I wouldn't take it, because I LOVE it this way.

Next Knives Out film should have Ben Whishaw and relentless flirting between his character and Blanc. Bonus points if, at the end of the film, he meets Philip and turns white because they had a thing once (A Very English Scandal)

Before talking about the trio (I knew that Theo's return would raise the level, this is probably my favorite episode with the first two!!!) I need to talk about a new theory which came to me practically out of nowhere.
I swear out of NOWHERE AT ALL.
In season 2 I liked the reference (whether intended or not, it was a wonderful coincidence) to kindness which reminded me so much of the same theme rewritten for the first Knives Out movie - you know, Marta Cabrera the kindest heart and the good nurse...
Now, we are at the 7 episode and still we actually know so little regardless all input that we, as fans, begin to think about as to be too obvious.
I'm starting to believe that Ben (AT LEAST ONCE) risked killing himself - and it would be the dumbest and funniest thing at the same time ever! (Also would explain, in my opinion, the different motive for both deaths and the different modus operandi).
Here we are: our second Knives Out world reference with a case so obvious to become dumb but also unthinkable.
And in the end we'll be all him.

Ok just kidding BUT the theory that Ben may have killed himself (maybe with too many cookies??) remains...

Ben Shapiro being mad about Glass Onion is so very funny to me.
Because of course he is.
I don’t think Ben Shapiro actually knows how to have fun or enjoy things; he’s just far happier hating things or pretending they’re beneath him.
But his complaint about how the first half of the movie lies the audience and therefore that makes it bad or pointless, is a very stupid criticism.
It just is.
It’s so fucking stupid.
And while I wrote this whole long-ass retort, it just doesn’t feel worth it anymore.
I will just say that this movie never lies to the audience.
Lying to your audience is not the same as misleading or misdirecting your audience. Those are VERY different things.
They just are.
And for a movie like Glass Onion or any movie that falls into this kind of genre – misleading or misdirecting your audience is more than fair game. Especially, if you do it well, and this movie does do it well.
But really, at the end of the day –
Ben’s criticisms of this movie are honestly very dumb.
I don’t think he fully understands how mysteries work; which means a movie that is both a subversion of the mystery genre, while also very much existing within the mystery genre itself - would just not work for him at all
Especially one that plays with the unreliable POV/Narrator more so than a lot of other stories do, including other mysteries.
His complaints are just so fucking ridiculous and stupid, that I don’t know what more I can say about them, they’re really that stupid.
yeah Ben... the first half of the movie doesn’t reveal all the stuff we will later learn in the movie nor does it tell us everything at face value when we first receive the information (especially in that first half).
That is all true...
Which...
That’s not surprising. Like at all.
Because of course, this mystery movie didn’t tell you everything that was happening right from the start.
Obviously, it didn’t. That’s pretty normal for any mystery.
Seriously, have you ever watched a mystery before?!
This whole this is so fucking dumb, that I just feel like Benoit Blanc at the end of Glass Onion.
🧅 🧅 🧅
And finally, the thing that is so very funny to me is -
You know who Miles Bron really reminded me of, people like Ben Shapiro.
People who try so hard to sound intellectual, but the more they try, the more obvious it becomes that they’re not nearly as smart as they want you to think they are.
And if you actually stop and hear what they’re saying, more often than not what they’re saying is in fact, very dumb.

(Archive) Animated short film of the day: Duck Amuck (1953)
There's something decidedly self indulgent but nevertheless interesting about using entertainment to discuss entertainment itself: Deconstructions, parodies, and in this case, getting meta; one of the most cerebral and fascinating… if done right. When used poorly it becomes a hand wave or a cynical tool to divert attention away of a work's flaws or be patronising to the audience. When used properly though? It can give us an insight on why we love a medium so much. Which is why this short is a landmark for commercial western animation.
While not the first to make use of the concept of an animator directly interacting with the cartoon character, as Disney's Saludos Amigos (1942) already had some of this, it pushed everything about this gag to the limit. The story(loosely using the term) is pretty much just Daffy getting messed with by whoever is animating(take a guess who that turns out to be) to such an extreme at various different points nothing that is identifiable about Daffy stays: The voice? The character design? Both get played with to nigh unrecognizable points to see how much you can take away while still keeping the audience engaged. And engaged it should be, as not only is the work hilarious but also a small but delicious insight of how animation is made.
Well…was.
It's a short made in the 50's, so some of the gags that may have been a little more obvious then would require some clarification for modern viewers. The core of it, though, remains as appealing as it ever was. Looney Toons shorts can be hit and miss in some areas(some having aged horrendously for a plethora of reasons) but when they hit the mark, they're absolute guaranteed classics and this is one of the best for being so bold on it's approach.

(Some spoilers for Glass Onion)
I’m absolutely in love with Glass Onion and I have a few thoughts. I loved the writing; the twists were not too outlandish or predictable. I was very pleased with the fact that Benoit Blanc was confirmed as queer. The characters of “The Disruptors” (minus Andi) are all very hate-able (as intended.) Each character is hated for different reasons but they can all be relatively disliked on the same level since they’re all rich, sociopathic nightmares. The main thing that I want to spotlight is Janelle Monae Robinson’s show stopping, Oscar-deserving, spot on acting. She played Andi/Helen wonderfully. The scene where Helen is wreaking absolute havoc on Miles’ home is very satisfying. If you notice the others only joined in for the smashing of the glass sculptures. The rich will only join in for so much “disruption” before they begin clutching their pearls. Ironic, ain’t it? Anyways, Glass Onion was great. Eat the rich. (Yes, I’m writing this partly to spite Ben Shapiro.)
