One of my students told me she has a crush on someone in our class and that her crush isn't a boy... "she is a girl" and all I had to say back was "I thought so!" before almost giving her a high five. Middle School is honestly such a weird place and it makes me happy to see my little bi child enjoy and understand the gay panic I never got the chance to recognize.

growing up bi is fucking hard—especially when you have a group of friends you’ve had forever who you’re just starting to realize are actually kind of awful. like, these are the people you’re comfortable with but suddenly the jokes aren’t funny anymore and you’re realizing that maybe they never were.

the scene where nick googles “am i gay” and is met with article after article of suicide rates and hate crimes and harrowing statistics was like watching my own life through a mirror. the tears and the stupid little internet quizzes and the horrible confusion of feeling something for someone you never even thought was an option for you (and still might not be)

there’s just so much to love about it. i’m so unused to seeing myself in shows like this without having to crane my neck to look for it.
