Guitar Rambling

Often the question comes up with beginner guitarists what guitar should they start with, and the correct answer is always "one that inspires you." One thing that doesn't get talked about a lot is how different guitars can inspire you to play different things.

My old Squier Bullet (back when Squier really sucked) didn't inspire me to play at all. My ESP LTD Viper inspired me to learn lots of metal riffs from the likes of Bullet For My Valentine, Metallica and Lamb of God. My Ibanez ART100 inspired me to get into rhythm playing, and even some theory. One thing they all had in common though was that I would always rely on a pick.

Now that I've had an acoustic guitar for a while now, I've been playing a lot more fingerstyle pieces with heavy arpeggiation that I simply could not keep up with on a pick if I wanted to. Take the time to get to know your instruments, and see where they take you. You'll be a better musician for it.

First Kofi post and First Krita design! I fully did this in less than 30 mins cause I didn’t bring my mouse and I don’t own a graphics tablet so I could only use my trackpad. Also realised halfway through that my colour scheme didn’t match my theme but c’est la vie. I’ll plan it out properly next time!
