#my brainrots have mutated more than 5p's structure send help 💀 #i present you: slugcat au where the gods are iterators #(names + abilities pending) #the big 3 kids are purposed organisms and the rest “natural” slugcats #Frank (The Juggernaut) is the chief of the clan and has to deal with these random ahh weirdos (the 3) rocking up #he's honeslty like Gourmand with less cooking skills and more endurance lmao- just a muscle powerhouse fit into a slimy rodent body #Jason (The Turbine)'s retired from being a Messenger and has no clue what to do with his life now (he becomes a scholar later on) #he's a centipede/wing hybrid and can electrocute anything he grabs given enough pips + can double jump (to handle Pipeyard lol pray for him #Percy (The Navigator) wonders off to explore since his creator didn't really HAVE plans for him other than occasional missions #he's honestly just colour swapped Rivulet with less spear skills (but can aim and throw them really well under water) #Hazel (The Martyr/Apostate) pulling a power move and refusing to die lol #she escaped the void & probably does everything to keep herself bound to the cycle in fear of getting dragged back #she doesn't have anything really special that i can think of other than actually dealing damage with debris and being able to wall climb #Annabeth (The Weaver) as lookout for ancient research and really good at building ladders/utilising the landscape. the most basic scug tbh #she can also take spears off of walls p easily and probably has a grapple worm friend #Piper (The Mimic/Paradigm? names r hard) being able to copy plant toxins/abilities. does most damage up close & is mostly a herbivore #like eating sporepuffs for a smokescreen. cherrybombs to scare off/stun into unconsciousness. lilypucks/slime mold to glow and etc #Leo (The Artillerist) as a scrawny little guy with explosives. fast but physically weak. he has to rely on his int and makes the clans tool #basically Arti/Monk mix without double jump but able to reassemble Iterator parts (jesus i had to Work to not accidentally copy her design) #Festus is a lizard!! he's probably a stupidly big Yellow and is our beloved. he got saved by Artillerist and followed him ever since :) #alternatively: an au where Leo just ends up in rw and insults 5p (who is confused on how an ancient survived and why he's Like That) #pjo #rain world

Nightlights house!

#interior design #interior art #wh oc #Nightlight #wh #welcome home oc #artists on tumblr #my art #welcome home #the house took ALOT of eraseing and redrawing... #BUT ITS FINALLY DONE! #nightlight finally has an official home that they live in! #their part bird so i had to make them a tree house with a nest .w. #this house has been in the works for a LONG time.. #im so happy its finally done... more or less... #i whould like to play with colors some time but seeing as i dont have a good way to do that this will be where it sits for now =w= #i like to think its got simular colors to what im planning to paint the kids bedroom... (i have to wait till grandma cant go up the stairs #anymore... but as soon as she cant my vishion of the wizard room SHALL become reality >:]) so like really dark blues mixed with some light #greenish blues with bright yellows #Nightlight is itty bitty so their house should be too :] (dont worry about the lack of bathroom... idk if puppets even need a bathroom but #there are additional platforms up in the tree canopy so maby theres one up there xD) nightlight only really uses their house for sleeping #so there is no shortage so sleeping spots! includeing a nice big nest for a bed :D #nightlight also has a nice lil kitchenette. just big enough for a lil guy :D #the bottom parts of the tall windows open :] #Nightlight can and will climb out of all the windows #the top down layouts are the most accurate but i tryed to ddraw them 3d to varrying degrees of sucsess

not to be a pretentious art grad student, bc I know most of the art tutorials that circulate the interwebs were made in good faith by self-taught artists, but nothing changed my perspective and use of color the same way reading "not all blues are cool, and not all yellows are warm" (that is, there are cool and warm colors, but every possible hue has a warm and cool variant), which I read in Drawing & Painting Fantasy Landscapes & Cityscapes by Rob Alexander. the book did not actually help me with drawing or painting landscapes or cityscapes, but it was packed full of the best breakdown of art basics that I've ever come across anywhere and still made me a better artist as a result

#being self-taught is tough bc there are a million different art books out there but like #some of them are actually good I promise #I know using online tutorials is easier and cheaper but sometimes an actual published book offers better advice #like it's a stupid pet peeve but I promise if you stop thinking of red-orange-yellow as warm and green-blue-purple as cool #color theory becomes so much easier #there's also a really great book about the science and cultural history of color called #The Secret Language of Color by Eckstut and Eckstut and this book is also super useful #like sure it's not aimed at artists but if you understand how light and color work on a scientific level it makes art easier #oracle of lore
