Student Couple
Yesterday we took the wayback machine to Gong Jun's college days with our Hug a Column figure. We're going to spin that dial even further back for some high school sweethearts.
The inspiration for the Gong Jun figure is this outfit below, which is not, to be clear, Gong Jun actually in high school. This is from a Weibo post of his from June 6, 2021, where he wished good luck to students taking the college entrance exams.
Tumblr media
The inspiration for Zhehan's fig outfit (and pose!) is this:
Tumblr media
This is also not high school Zhehan - I don't have the date on this, but I can tell you definitively it was not!
Tumblr media
These two cuties! The fig maker rendered Junjun's slight smile here into a sideways grin, which I love, and of course we have Zhehan's big bright smile.
Tumblr media
The tilted head pose is so cute! Here we get a great angle of Zhehan's slides, with the LLD logo to go along with Zhehan's Nike shorts and Supreme t-shirt. He is wearing white socks with the slides (because of course he is), even though it's a little faint from this angle.
Tumblr media
We do have a little bit of unfortunate overspray on Junjun's arm and hand. That being said, it's faint and not too bad, and merely looks like cleverly sun-conscious teenage Junjun layered on the zinc sunscreen a little bit too heavily.
Tumblr media
Please do note the Air Jordan logo on his shorts! I'm really impressed with the sharp line detailing on the pentagon around the logo.
Tumblr media
Here you can see Junjun's pose a bit better, with his foot forward, and of course that really beautiful backpack. The crest on his backpack says, Orange Gardenia High School. So cute!
Tumblr media
So...you may have noticed I switched the boys around! I am not sure what the heck I was doing when I was photographing them. I think I ran out of time half way through, and hastily cleaned off the bar. Only to come back and totally forget what I was doing. For goodness sakes.
ANYway, here's a nice view of Junjun's hand-in-pocket and casual resting pose. Those lines on his outfit look great, sharp and clean!
Tumblr media
WHY are these two so cute! I love Junjun's smile from this angle, it has so much personality. And speaking of personality, Zhehan continues to be adorable with his head cocked over to the side.
Tumblr media
Adorable and a little rascally, too!
Tumblr media
As you can tell from the pics, they stand up pretty decently on those little feet.
Tumblr media
I swapped the figs around (this time on purpose!) so you could see Zhehan's basketball holding pose and Junjun's backpack from above at the same time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fig maker included some student cards as an extra bonus! These say Junzhe University, which makes sense, since those photos definitely are not high schoolers either. I will say that Junzhe University is truly the best. I've been to a lot of schools in my life, and none of them had students like these!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love box cards, I have to say! All the cute artwork. I'm out of space in my little Junzhe wallet-card sized binder, but I have a new one on it's way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still haven't solved the what-to-do-with-the-boxes problem, but I'm confident some solution will happen!

We’ve seen just a tad bit about this conversation in 5, but how do you think the talk about moving went between Sam and Tara? What decisions were made? I can imagine it was Sam’s idea to keep Tara with her in the same apartment. Do you think they discussed where, how, when, with who? Also, Tara’s education would’ve been a good subject don’t you think.
I think - and this is based on nothing except it would be tragic - that the friends (pre-5) had all decided to go to Blackmore together when they graduate: Tara, Chad, Mindy, Amber, and Wes. Liv was new so maybe her as well but maybe not. They had all these plans, they had already applied, and they were ready to go. After 5, those left decided to continue those plans, they hadn't even applied anywhere else. I've decided it adds another layer of tragedy to Tara's character that she can't escape the past, because she's literally living in the plans they made.
I had a whole paragraph where I asked what the fuck is up with how school admissions and graduation works in the US. I deleted it because I've educated myself. So, I was under the impression that the gang had to have graduated early, but it looks like that was wrong! This is for the non-Americans like me, the Americans reading this probably already know. Apparently, high school graduation happens in May/June. The summer semester they moved to New York for like 6 months ago, is in fact an optional semester that happens over the 'summer break' that students can take for extra credits to help them potentially graduate sooner. So, the gang basically went straight from high school directly into their higher education without a break.
The reason for that, who knows, maybe due to the circumstances they didn't quite meet the requirements for entrance but were permitted continued entry into Blackmore on the provision they take the summer semester to redo or catch up some required exams or whatever. Like how in the UK you can redo GCSE's (or O levels as they're once again called) whilst doing your A Levels.
Moving-wise, I don't think either of the girls ever openly questioned their living situation. I think Tara just talked to her about her plans to go to Blackmore - maybe she received a letter - and then the next day Sam is showing her some online adverts for apartments. Tara's so relieved that she does this. She didn't want to bring it up, to ask these difficult questions of what happens next, terrified of the answer. For Sam it was never any doubt that she was going to follow and that her sister would stay with her.
It still doesn't make sense that they had a third roommate in 6 so I'm going to say that maybe Mindy was supposed to move in with them but they didn't realise until they got there and signed the lease that actually Mindy is required to live on campus as a first year. Tara is too, but the special circumstances of the situation, and given that she and her sister have become the center of an online conspiracy and a book, the school quietly decide that it's better that she does live off campus.

I love this man so much! I have reached 300 followers too! I'm thinking of doing an event, but I'll be busy for June and July. Mainly June is because of BTS Muster and July because of my submissions and exams. I'm new to events; I'll plan to see what kind of event I can open to my followers!
Pairing: Sakusa Kiyoomi x fem reader (she/her)
Genre: Romance, Fluff
Enjoy!

There was no time for dating in high school when you are busy preparing for national competitions and struggling to do well in your subjects.
Attending an elite institution like Itachiyama, you are constantly trying to be the best among the best.
Though you guys are not dating officially, almost the whole school knows that Sakusa Kiyoomi is exclusively yours, and you are his.
Every day after school, you would go over to his house for dinner and study together, then your parents would come and pick you up after their work.
It has always been that way since elementary school.
The Kendo club always ends around the same time as the volleyball club, and you would always be waiting at the entrance of his club room.
If he were to end later, he would text you, and you would spend extra time practising while waiting for him.
Sakusa would hold your bag for you, it started out as a one-time thing, and now it became a habit.
You would hold onto the tail of his blazer and walk together.
Komori would split off with you two from the train station since he is going in the opposite direction.
Today was a rare day where you end later than Sakusa, and he ended up sitting outside your club room, like a lost puppy waiting for you.
You quickly change into your uniform and meet him at the front. You apologise for being late, and he pointed at your bag, and you pass it to him.
By the time you two have the campus, the sun has set, and the weather gets colder.
He noticed you slightly shivering, and he pulls you closer to him.
You're shocked at the sudden affection and noticed how he was towering over you.
You two remained this way until you reached his house.
You greeted his parents as you enter the house, and Sakusa follows behind you.
Instead of eating dinner first, he drags you to his room first, where he got one of his hoodies from his wardrobe and gave it to you.
It was rare for him to let you wear his clothes, but you were glad that he is opening up to you more.
You two head down to the dining room to have your dinner, and then you can move on to doing your assignments and revision.
His mother cleared the table, and you two went to the living room to start on your assignments.
You two did your work in silence, but you can't help but feel shy sitting so close beside him.
You knew him for years, and it took so long for you to wear his clothes, him carrying your bag, and you two become so close.
It was all worth the wait. Baby steps go a long way.
Sakusa Kiyoomi had your heart from the first time you met each other. There was no doubt that you wanted him in your life forever.
Soon, your parents came, and you were ready to go home, but Sakusa was not so ready to let you go.
"Kiyoomi? What's wrong? Do you need the hoodie back? I'll wash it and give you back tomorrow." He shook his head, and you took a step closer to him.
He looks down at you, and you stare straight back at him.
"I just want to tell you that I love you." He confessed and kisses your forehead softly.
You stared at him, shell-shocked and gaped at him.
"Keep the hoodie; take it as my first gift for you. See you tomorrow." Sakusa leaned down to kiss your cheeks, and you hid your blushing cheeks and got into your parents' car.
Then you realised that your parents probably saw everything and you are so embarrassed and happy.
Sakusa could not help but pump his fist into the air in happiness. He has wanted to say it, and he wants to be the first one to say it to you.
His parents were glad that you were in his life, and you are as pleased as his parents that he is in your life too.
"Oh, was that Kiyoomi-kun? Did he grow taller again? Did you two kiss? Oh my, they are all grown up now~." Your father fake sniffled, and you blushed deeply at his teasing.
"Honey, stop teasing your child. I'm glad that they are moving out of what normal friends would do." Your mother turned to you and winked at you.
Ah, you wish they didn't see that.
But, it was true. You were happy that you two are more than friends, and hopefully, soon, you two would become a couple officially in the future.

It was a short fluffy headcanon! I hope you guys enjoy this headcanon, and I want to thank you all for all the love and support that I have received these past two months!
I plan to have an event to show my appreciation, but it would not be soon since I'm really busy with school:(
Thank you once again!
Stay safe and healthy!
With love,
Rosalie🍓

Hi!! I'm a college student about to graduate and my dream is to teach English in China and I was wondering if you could somehow help me and give me some advice. I have been studying Chinese during my years at university (and I love your blog!), along with my physics degree. I don't know if any of this is relevant but my level of Mandarin is not very high (HSK3), I study in the UK and I'm planning to get a TEFL 120 hour certification in June. Is this a solid plan? Love your blog, Isa
Hiii! Sorry it took me so long to get to this, I have my final exams at the moment and am on semi-hiatus. First, what an amazing dream!! You'll have a wonderful time :D
SO in general having a degree not in English language and a TEFL certificate is most definitely enough to secure you a job, but at the moment it is a rather 'special period', as every job advert says, and so finding a job is a little trickier because of visa problems.
Basically, there are no work or study visas available at the moment for people from the UK. The only people who can get into China are those who the Chinese Embassy deems 'foreign experts' and therefore 'crucial to China's progress', and your company or school will have to provide something called a PU letter. This grants you the ability to actually apply for the work visa, though itself doesn't grant it. At the moment there aren't that many companies available who can offer that.
Because of this, I'd recommend going through a recruitment company. I do not necessarily mean a graduate scheme (the ones advertised as such are not very well paid and you don't have much control over where you go), but a recruitment company. You can find these on any general site if you google 'ESL jobs China'.
In terms of actual jobs - generally speaking there are three categories, private language schools, state schools, and international schools. International schools are by far the best in terms of packages, but they rarely take graduates without 3 years of teaching experience. The good news is that if you do find somebody who is looking for recent grads (if you go to a particularly prestigious university like Oxbridge, for instance), you might be able to teach Physics or Science rather than English language. International schools will also be the easiest to deal with in terms of communication and visa applications, but the competition is quite stiff, and most people who apply will be teachers in their home countries already.
State schools are another good option if you want 'normal' teaching hours, good holidays, and older children. The position I have next year is in a good state school that has two programs, the Canadian curriculum and the GaoKao (the Chinese university entrance exam). The main disadvantage is that you may be the only foreigner in the school, and communication might be difficult. I don't just mean with Chinese but in general: you will be not told things, you will be excluded, you will turn up to your class and find someone else teaching it and be told just to go back to your office. If you can be flexible and have an open mind, state schools are great, but they may be quite exhausting especially if this is your first time in China. You will also have to teach to exams, and the curriculum might be tight. For me personally though, I would much rather teach in a state school than the next option -
Which is private language schools. These are very good - sometimes. This is the main problem: the quality of the schools, the teaching, and the ethos all vary from school to school. You may be teaching very young children, and you may be teaching exclusively in the evening. The schools may be very supportive of creativity in the classroom, or you may be literally forced to teach the flashcards they give you. The plus about these schools is that they often have competitive relocation packages, are not too bothered about how experienced (or not) you are, and that there will be a community of other English speaking colleagues (natives and not) to help you integrate.
The reason I add this is that it's so, so important. It's very laudable and easy to wish for immersion and want to make Chinese friends - and you should!! - but living in another country without easy access to internet you are used to can be exhausting at times and even the staunchest believer in immersion is going to be stressed and tired and teary far from home. Having colleagues who want to improve their English can also be a good basis for a (somewhat awkward at first) friendship.
Some general tips: brush up on your English grammar. Seriously. Because the amount of teachers who have no idea and bluff their way through it is shocking and disrespects those who try very hard to make it a proper profession. Also having students ask you when you use the present perfect continuous and the present perfect simple and not knowing the answer is a very special kind of pain!! I'd recommend bringing a reputable grammar book with you, and using it when making your lesson plans.
Re Chinese: if you already have a little, your Chinese will improve so much when you're there!! Don't stress about it because China is a wonderful environment for learning - it's literally perfect, few people speak English and EVERYBODY wants to speak to you as many people are direct and very curious - but at the same time, the more you can learn, the easier it will be. Don't neglect your characters!! Learning useful menu characters and signs will be hugely helpful too. You won't need Chinese in your job really, but you definitely will in your daily life, so well done for learning and keep at it!!
The other thing I would say is: sort out your music and your social media and your banking before going to China. This includes a good VPN. You can't download apps on the google App Store, and to make the transition to the Chinese internet easier, I'd recommend getting a Weibo account, any music app, Baidu translate and maps and so on, and accustoming yourself to that before going.
Re where you are going and the package: you should have your flight paid, help with your visa, and transparency about quarantine procedures. You should also have accommodation or an accommodation allowance of between 2000-5000 (2000 is more than fine). Public or international schools may pay for your food during school-time as well. Re cities: prioritise what is important to you. If you want to save, bear in mind that China is extraordinarily cheap and that even in places like Shanghai, you can still save a lot if you live somewhat sensibly. To give you some context: I lived in Tianjin, a second-tier city, and I got 'pocket money' of 2000 every month (with accommodation and food paid), and I managed to save enough to do martial arts for a month at an academy after 5 months. And I was living well - going out about twice a week, taking taxis, eating out almost every evening (cheap food). So don't prioritise one position over another solely because of money, and also bear in mind kindergarten teachers may only be getting about 2000-3000 a month - so regardless of whether you earn 10,000 or 15,000, it's a) SIGNIFICANTLY enough to live very well and save very well too, and b) considerably more than many of your coworkers will be earning.
Also, different cities have different costs of living: 10,000 somewhere like Hangzhou will go considerably further than 16,000 in Shanghai. Another thing to bear in mind is the air quality, and the environment, and the access to green spaces. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS. If this is important to you, go somewhere smaller or in the south with access to nature - I nearly went crazy living in such a big city with such poor air quality. The positions I had to choose between were one in Shanghai, better paid and at a better school, and a position in Zhuhai in a campus in the mountains, in a third-tier city by the sea. I know now how important green is to me, how much I prefer a more relaxed pace of life, and so I chose the latter.
Lastly, don't be intimidating and don't be afraid to ask questions about your job. Make sure that everything they say is in the contract, in both the English version and the Chinese version. This is important because only the Chinese version is legal, so if you have a friend, get them to check that the same stuff is in each bit of the contract. Communication might be difficult, but don't be afraid to be direct and press for answers, don't just accept what you're told. You might be messed around with a bit, so it's important to 'shop around' for positions - don't feel bad if you do so, and don't be afraid to turn things down that don't suit. Finally, don't feel terrified if you can't find information about a school online - a lot of stuff isn't on Google, and will also be better accessed via WeChat or mini programs. Not finding information about your school or city does not mean it doesn't exist!!
So be prepared for a wild ride - and enjoy! If you have any more questions about any of this, please feel free to ask at any time!

Hey, I'm a little bit lost with Skam España and I thought maybe you could help: Did they already write all their exams (EVAU?) and when they studied on Wednesday it was basically the last time they had to study? Bc it wouldn't make sense to have the graduation tomorrow if they didn't, right? I'm confused, for me it sounded like the exams are a bit of time away (like when Cris said to Joana that she's gonna have less time due to studying, was she only talking about a few days?) Thanks in advance!
Don’t worry anon, I suppose this is a bit confusing for non-Spaniards lol
So. in Spain, the last year is basically a preparatory course for the university entrance exams, Selectividad or EVAU (when I did them they were called PAU lol). That year, you usually end the classes earlier (early to mid May, I had a wholeass month to study, although there were some classes that didn’t finished everything, so we also could go to extra classes, which actually was a life saver in one of my exams lol ) and that’s why these last few weeks the girls have only been going to the library, I did the same thing, I used to go to my high school and stayed all day in the library, and went to some extra classes (mainly in History and Art History).
On late May, you have graduation. Yes, before Selectividad. This is mainly because there’s no other time you can do it, as just after the exams, it’s when the trip to Mallorca (or another place, although in Madrid we tend to go there) takes place, like that same weekend is when you normally fly (or catch a boat) there, you usually would find out your grades while at the beach!!! (I didn’t go to no trip cause no friend was going and I didn’t like my classmates that much lol, but lot’s of people post their faces when they figure out if they got into the degree they want or not).
So, to summarize:
1st - 20th May: Depending on the High School, classes end somewhere in these days (in my case we ended on the 2nd or 3rd or so)
22th - 31st May: Usually on Friday, sometimes on Saturday, one of these days graduation takes place (in my case it was on the 29th)
First week of June: Selectividad / EVAU takes place. In Madrid (it changes from Autonomous Community to Autonomous Community), they are from Tuesday to Thursday / Friday (you only have exams on Friday if you have two subjects in the same time slot)
Second week of June: Mallorca, Ibiza, Gandía, Denia... wherever each High School decides to go (normally is Mallorca, at least in Madrid. I suppose high schoolers from Mallorca go to other places lol)
And that’s all!! Hope it was of help!!
Also, I was thinking of making a post about Selectividad / PAU, let me know if you would want me to do so!! I’ve saved all my exams and the stickers and all so I could post them too!

Hi! Welcome to my #blognumber2!!!💙💙
My name is Lenie Balauag. I was born on November 5, 1999 in Buntun Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. I am the daughter of Alejandro Balauag and Lourdes Balauag. I am the fifth child in a family of six. I love watching videos on Youtube and I am a coffee lover. I can consume 3-4 cups of coffee a day, that's how much I am addicted to it.
My main belief in life is that we should be contented and grateful of what we have in life. I, as a daughter being raised by a single parent, I could fully understand why there are things my mother cannot give me, like materialistic things. Because in life, it is not what matters the most, it is the love we receive and offer to one another.
Year 2005 when I was in kindergarten and was my first time to experience what it is like to be in school. I was that little kid who was very shy of talking to people, but despite that, I was still able to make my own circle of friends. Being a kid, I'd love to just play and play the whole day. I used to go to my neighbor's house and play hide and seek, chinese garter, tumbang preso, langit-lupa, san peter, piko, and more. How I missed those memories, not minding about the problems and the possibilities that could come my way.
When I was in 2nd Grade in elementary, toughest times came to my life. I had encountered how my Mama and Papa often fight because of misunderstandings. It came to the point that Mama wanted to leave and I had to choose between staying with Papa or leaving with Mama. I chose to be with Mama because I was a certified Mama's Girl. I and Mama left and lived to my grandparents' house for quite some nights. We decided to go home when Papa pleased us to come back. I thought it would be a new start for us but it wasn't. Papa being addicted to smoke and alcohol became worst which made him sick even more. He is a diabetic person and he must avoid sweets and unhealthy foods but he couldn't resist it. I felt mad at him at those times but pity him at the same time because as his daughter, I don't wanna see him suffer so much.
October 23, 2007, something happened in my life that made me so sad and miserable. This was my father's death. His sufferings had ended, and so his life. There were so many times I wished I could had more time and more bonding with him. If only I knew he would be gone so early. But I know it is so impossible already, so all I can do now is to pray that he will continue guiding us from above.
Growing up, it is really hard without a father on your side. I saw how my Mama sacrificed just to give us the life we always wanted. How she budgeted her salary just to feed us and to buy our daily needs.
Year 2012, I finished my elementary at Buntun Elementary School. On my 7th grade, I enrolled in Tuguegarao City West High School. A new school that was built in Pallua Norte, Tuguegarao City. I was one of the pioneer students that time. There were just few students since it is a new school. Year 2016, I finished my Junior High School at the same school.
During the summer, I took the entrance exam at the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao. A well-known private University in Tuguegarao where some of the topnatchers came from. I was confident during the exam because I know I did my best. Luckily, I passed. Month of September was the start of classes so I had 4 months vacation. At first, I felt grateful because I was one of the lucky students who were able to be in that University. But I didn't made it up to the end. After a week, I decided to drop out because of some personal issues. For how many days I just stayed in the house Later on, I had realized that I should continue schooling. I enrolled in another school which is the Maila Rosario College but didn't made it again.
Year 2018, month of March, another sad part of my life. My grandmother had heart attack. We rushed her in the hospital, was in coma for hours, then died. It was very unexpected that it could happen to her because she looked very healthy and no signs that he had high blood.
During the summer, I enrolled in Cagayan National High School. I chose to to take Humanities and Social Sciences strand but I had changed my mind and switched to General Academic Strand, where I found my second family.
Month of June, my mother and I left Buntun for good. We transfered to our Aunt's house in Capatan because my Aunt needed a helper for her mini grocery store. Were still currently staying at her house and all is doing great.
Right now, I am a Grade 12 Student and planning to take either Bachelor in Elementary Education as my first choice or Social Work as my second choice. I'm hoping that I would pass the entrance examination in Cagayan State University because I want to study there for College.
