Sumi Lore Professional Question One:
what's the game you've played that's affected you most? i feel like this'll be... inch resting :>
easy. Pokemon
played pokemon leafgreen when i was 5. instantly fell in love. my sister beat the main story cuz i was too young to understand battling, so i just did the post game. I sailed around the Sevii Islands and it was the coolest shit ever. It defined my definition of a good game forever.
Then my interests faded as i got into late elementary school. It was still cool, but not as big in my life. Me and my sister got Pokemon Black and it was definitely really cool (did revive my love a bit). but the post-game was kinda dry. we did everything extra that we could do without internet.
Then i got a phone in 6th grade. I was given the chance to listen to music whenever I wanted. But back then i didnt have a personality music taste, so i didn't know what to listen to. figured i'd try something random.
So, i opened up youtube and looked up Pokemon
i started by listening to the anime openings. sure they're cheesy but some of them are catchy. memorized all the words. then i branched out into the other songs from the show and eventually discovered a whole world of unknown pokemon lore. did you know that the japanese anime had full fucking albums of original songs for every season??? and they go hard too!
with this, i discovered youtubers. Truegreen7, Bird Keeper Toby, Woopsire, MandJTV, and so many more. This defined my middle school era. I had an art account on a different site and posted a lot of fanart. made a lot of online friends too. it was such a good feeling...
then my mom found out.
she was pissed at my art account for various reasons, and punished me severely. at that point i was so hurt about losing all my online friends that i couldn't bring myself to draw ever again. i ended middle school in a very messy headspace.
then highschool came arounf . still wasn't into it. felt like i didn't have the motivation to do much anymore. i reluctantly went to freshman orientation, and got to the club fair, where all the clubs advertise to the new students. and one club struck my attention:
Pokemon Club
for the first time in a long time, i was exited to do something. I embarrasingly hung around their booth way longer than i needed to. I stole like 6 of their fliers too. it finally felt like a place where i belonged. I attended (almost) every single meeting for my first two years of high school. i met my current best friends there. they were the ones to introduce me to ace attorney and yttd!!
one day, one of the presidents was telling me about how their PR was ditching all the meetings and never did their work. i offered to take over cuz i had experience making club advertisements. it went from simple posters to booth flyers to fundraiser ads. then she asked me if i was willing to design club merch. bear in mind, i rarely drew since the incident 3 years prior. but it was my job as PR so i faced my fears and did it. the merch was perfect, and everyone loved it.
the end of my 2nd year came the dreadful question: who would take over? the staff were all graduating and needed a new president.
they all chose me.... i was so excited (and nervous) but i was determined to do my best.
unfortunately, covid hit that very year. my entire 3rd year was online, and so was club. it went better than i expected. the president reached out to me and asked if i wanted to color for her webcomic. next thing i knew, i was drawing as much as i used to. she really helped me find that part of me again, and i'm so thankful. now i'm a college student majoring in graphic design and minoring in video game studies
and it was all because of pokemon

oh fuck hi xaz i was wondering where you went. apparently the reason was a little uh.. well, jesus christ. tbh.
i'm a little nervous about showing my face which is why i'm on anon but ive been in afams and very active in discord since i wanna say the fall before the first skycats thing? and ive been pretty much absent since around when you left. (funnily enough i haven't come up in a single queue in that entire time, or in the year and a half ive been waiting for a project queue >_<)
anyway i wanna say i love and support u and i hope other than this bullshit you're doing well, and also i can definitely corroborate some of the stuff you posted that the afams team has been doing... uh. bad.
especially that part about the one mod having a bunch of complaints about them.. honestly it's at the point where i'm not even sure *which* fucking mod it is lmao. (put some extra info in a second ask)
and the way the two admins treated you, while i didn't see anything super obvious first hand, it always struck me as soooo fucking weird that you could make some of the same kinda jokes that they did, and jokes with "fuck" and "shit" and whatever in them, except you were getting publicly dressed down for it. (i will say there were a couple times you had some less savory jokes HOWEVER you corrected and apologized and didn't do it again. but most times it was regular shit everybody else was saying too, from what i remember)
oh and there was also a couple times where the admins asked for feedback on stuff and i'd try to mention some difficulty, and i'd get completely *publicly* shut down with some ableist nonsense, and nobody would say shit. i'm not comfortable saying exactly what was said, but it was... it was bad. it was bad. like i had to stop going to the discord for like a week when it happened. and myn said she'd talk to the people who did it and now i'm starting to think that just never happened....
I just wanna go on record saying I don't know who this person is but they sound like a an afam helper (not quite a mod bc up until kata we didn't have mods). The server has a few of those. So for the admin babies out there, I didn't tell this person to send this in or anything.
And yes you're absolutely right. The admins loved to ask for feeback or insight on stuff and if it wasn't 100% squeaky clean it'd be shut down. Reminds me of the time one of the admins (not the main ones actually) told me my ideas weren't good and unrealistic during a brain storming thread for an event that never happened last year and no one stepped in to tell her to stop until I stood up for myself and said 'just because they're unrealistic doesn't mean I can't talk about them'.
Some, but certainly not all, of the staff are weirdly ableist as well. I totally forgot about that. I'm a bit mentally disabled but I try and shrug that stuff off so I don't go crazy but I know others are a lot more sensative to that kinda stuff. And while like you said I might have slipped up myself sometimes I did try and correct it and make it right because I didn't realize I'd fucked up until my foot was in my mouth.
And completely agree. You'd go to the admins with an issue about a person and they said they'd deal with it but it... never felt like it did? I remember that was a big point of contention where I was BEGGING the admins to please just TELL US what is happening. Give us updates. Have you followed through with things you said you would? Has the person someone had a problem with been actually spoken to? But it felt like a lotta the time things were sent to the admins and then nothing happened and that's why I always wanted an actual open dialogue so people could SEE what issues there were and hold the admins accountable for those things. But that wasn't allowed bc it was confrontational.
Not all confrontation is negative. It is something that sometimes needs to happen between people so everyone feels heard and understood. But that isn't allowed.
And about your second ask; oh geeze anon I'm so sorry. That sounds horrible. I teared up a little and I'm glad you're away from that person. If you wanna talk more you can always DM me over discord.

Hello! I'm always willing to provide information to my best ability. Though, unfortunately, I'll remain anon in public for the exact reason pointed out in your post. I'd rather not be witch hunted.
I'm a writer of Blankshipping fanfics and have mostly and thankfully have gone under the radar of antis.
Why do I like this ship? There's not much to that answer, I just do. In canon, there's not really much to them, which gives people the availability to mold them however they wish. I think that alone is great, minor characters with only hints of personality traits and history is perfect fodder for the fandom.
Maybe its like trying to explain why you like a certain color or taste of a certain food.
And with the recent release of PLA, Ingo can only really remember his twin which in canon is only because they were such close twins. But c'mon, it does sound romantic and more people would jump on that storyline if they were twins.
Of course, this is all fictional thoughts. As a sibling myself, I have the typical relationship with my brother. Now that we're older, we don't fight as much, we're not really close but we do have each other's backs if things get rough. If anyone gets to strangle him, it'll be me. Joking.
No, there's no trauma involved in my likes or dislikes. No, I'm not some freak in reality. I just have the capability to let myself enjoy my likes through harmless fiction.
It does remind me of a post I saw a few weeks back on Twitter, or X, or whatever Elon is calling it these days.
"Fiction has real life consequences" is the new "Violent video games causes violent children" which once was "D&D causes Satanism" etc etc.
I don't really understand the knee jerk reaction of hatred towards others who actually haven't done anything wrong. Of course, there will always be exceptions to the rule in every aspect of life because, the simple truth is, all humans are different.
I understand disliking something and blocking people who create content that one doesn't like is always the right thing to do. But to go after someone who is either trying to make a living or who is friends with someone who is friends with a proshipper... That's just a little too much?
I've lost friends because they were really terrible antis, but the Blankshipping community I'm in is really amazing and kind. The friends I've lost were replaced with understanding people who really don't deserve the hate directed towards them.
All I ask is to be kind towards others, there is already too much hatred in the world to the point where just a shred of human decency will last a lifetime in someone's mind and heart.
I can definitely see where you're coming from. I haven't been in the super early fandom (the initial PLA hype) so I couldn't imagine what could have happened with friendships and stuff.
But going under the radar is impressive! Usually, there is a tendency for someone to find the person who created the content and tie it back to their main account, and then the information is spread. As a somewhat recognizable member of the fandom, I do feel a bit nervous just creating this account and answering, hahah.

I think I found a way to estimate how my tattoos would age using GIMP.
Here's why I did it.
I have one tattoo with a lot of fine lines and details. Yes, it was a bad idea. It's healing about as well as you'd expect, which is NOT WELL.
This is the tattoo I want
Tumblr media
I really really love this but the sparrow makes me really nervous because it's a small thing with a lot of details that rely on color contrast. It's hard for me to get a sense of how these types of tattoos heal based on her account.
Because I definitely don't want it to heal like THIS (which is only two months after the tattoo)
Tumblr media
But I wouldn't mind it healing like this other, much more complicated tattoo from this healed pic reel
So, let's try estimating how this might heal on my skin in the worst case scenario using GIMP.
I verified this method against my existing tattoo. I found a picture of when the tattoo was fresh. Then I faded and blurred that original image until it looked kind of like what that tattoo looks like now. I'm not going to post a picture of that tattoo for information security, but I can show how I replicated that in a different design to try to estimate how that tattoo would age.
Here's a screen recording of how I, a GIMP noob, did it. Sorry about all the floundering
If you DON'T want to watch me struggle with GIMP, here's what I did
Load the tattoo image
Set a background layer that has the same color as the main color of your skin, or in this case, the same grey-scale the arm color is in for the sample pic
Play with the opacity of the tattoo layer until it looks about reasonably faded
Blur the image using a median blur, play around with Radius and percentile to simulate how the colors would melt into each other, and how the line would bleed into the skin
I think this is about how bad it would be a few months if this tattoo heals as badly as my other fine line tattoo
Tumblr media
And this would be how badly it might heal in a few decades (I'm just randomly playing with the blur tool at this point, so take it with a HUGE grain of salt)
Tumblr media
Looking at this, I'm feeling pretty optimistic? There's enough shape of a bird that I think, even if the colors fade and bleed into each other, it'll be enough to show that it's a bird perched on a branch against a traditional Korean knot.
Of course, this might also heal like my other tattoos which use the traditional (?) thick, bold black lines and restraint around adding too many details. Those tattoos are all between 2 years ~ 7 years old and still look about the same as it did on the day I got them.
Anyway, takeaways: 1. I am a huge wimp and do not want to get touch-ups. I should not get small tattoos with a lot of details, and definitely not ones where the artist likes fine lines
2. Bold really does hold
3. I think the tattoo I want would still hold ok? I should really think about whether I want to shell out top dollars to get a tattoo I'm kind of concerned about vs going back to the artists who I know can give me art that will hold up for a while.

hello! i’m planning to start an (exo) writing blog in the future and i feel a lil nervous... i was wondering if you had any tips on how to get started/gain an audience?? sorry if you’ve been asked this before, and i really love your bubbly personality and your blog!! thank you so much! 🥺💖💖
ABODJFJF AAAA omg i've never been asked this before !!!! i will try my best 😌🙏🏼 pls lemme know if this is the shittiest advice you've ever got NEKDNDK
i think my biggest tip for like how to get people to read your stuff is just tags. put a shit load of tags for as many things that have to do with your post !!! use popular tags too that you yourself would search when trying to find fics that are similar to yours !!!! tags will really get your stuff out there !!!
my next tip would be just try to be consistent with it !!! i learned the hard way that if u just dip no one really is gonna interact with your stuff because they think you left 💀💀 but also being consistent with your posts and stuff also helps with your writing so that's cool too !!!!!
last tip is just be yourself !!!! post what u want !!!!! don't let the numbers get to your head !!!! as long as you're posting what you want then someone will come and read it !!!!!! we're on a rock anyways !!!!! floating through space !!!!!! do what you want in life bro don't let anything stop you !!!!!!
thank u for asking me for advice i hope this helped 😭😭 i suck at giving advice but these were the main things i thought about when i started out !!!! good luck on your blog !!!!! i hope it goes well !!!!!!
#when u post ur first fic can you tag me in it ???? or send it to me ???? i wanna read it i'm so djdjjdjd we love exo content in this house#but yea !!!!! tags is like the main thing dude my first fic was ass n i just had a cliche idea n wrote about it#but i added as many tags as i could (the limit is 30 so u really gotta pick and choose) and posted it#and a few people read it which really made me happy so i kept writing more n posting more#and then the more i wrote the more people would read my stuff and the better i got at writing#then i just fucking left and haven't written in almost a year but we don't talk about that#it's important to remember tho don't write for the numbers !!!! u gotta write because YOU want to#not because you wanna get notes because then you'll just get discouraged when u see the likes to reblogs ratio :( so write because u wanna !#before i posted my jaemin smau i had to keep telling myself that i wanted to post this For Me bc i was super discouraged and it helped a lot#but !!! back to the tags !!!! for exo content i think the main tags u definitely want is like exo fluff exo fanfic and then the members name#and those tags so like example chanyeol fluff u know ??? like just write a big list of tags that u think are super popular exo fic searches#n then throw the 30 most popular to u in there and then BAM#because there's no other way people can see your post unless they search the tag you used so yea tags are 1000% the most important thing#but !!!!! i hope this helped you !!! thank you for asking me for advice 🥺🥺🥺 u could've picked anyone else bro i appreciate it#also thank u for saying you love my personality and my blog 😭😭😭😭 literally bouta cry a river no one has ever told me that i'm going inSane#good luck on your writing journey !!!!!! i can't wait to see what u post !!!!!!#fuck i really hope this helped i'm nervous 😭😭😭 but this is the shit i went by so like ???? but also i'm a dumbass so like ?????????#i hope im not the only one u asked 😭😭😭😭😭😭 JSKSNODNFJF IM KIDDING BUT YEA PROBABLY ASK MORE PEOPLE TOO AHAHAKDNDKJF#my good friend jae (account j-pping) would have lots of good advice i'm sure !!!!!#yeol.com/ask#anon#ALSO WITH THE TAGS I WOULD LOOK AT MORE POPULAR WRITING PIECES N SEE WHICH TAGS THEY USED AND THEN PLUCK FROM THERE THAT REALLY HELPS#SORRY I KEEP GOING BACK TO TAGS#THEYRE THE MOST IMPORTANT IM SO SERIOUS DJFNKCJF

I really like what you said the other day in response to someone who mistakenly thought Asami was white. I do have some comments on another part of her identity you mentioned in that response. Hear me out, but I don't think that it is fair to say Asami is not a lesbian. She could be. She could also be bi or pan.
Lots of lesbians date men before coming out. This is due to compulsory heterosexuality or comphet which basically means societal pressures makes women feel compelled to be attracted to men. Yes, the society in Avatar is different. However, in Turf Wars it is explained that homophobia does exist in this world, so it would make sense that people would be closetted or take longer to figure things out. In the comic, Asami is also nervous to tell Korra's parents about their relationship because of this homophobia. Kya even explains that the fire nation is the most homophobic of the nations. The fire nation helped form Republic City and Asami is ethnically fire nation. Therefore, this influence would definitely be present in her life which could make her feel compelled to date men.
I'm not saying that Korra or Asami are definitely lesbians, but they could be. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's never explicitly stated if they are lesbians or bisexuals in Avatar or any real world official media. Therefore, they could be either of them. If a lesbian sees some of themselves in the characters and projects their identity a little bit, there is nothing wrong with that. If a bisexual sees some of themselves in the characters and projects their identity a little bit, there is nothing wrong with that. I don't think it's erasure to say that they could be either, but it is erasure to say they can't be one of them.
I'm a transgender lesbian. I strongly identity with most of Korra's traits. We have very similar, flaws and strengths. She feels like the only person I have ever identified with in media. One of the many ways I relate to Korra is her roamances. One time I dated one of my best friends, a straight man. At first I was head over heels and extremely excited. I saw a future with us. After several months I kept saying stuff like, "This part of our relationship would be better if I was with a woman," and stuff like that. Just like Korra in season 2, I started getting angry at him very easily, sometimes over nothing. We love board games, but couldn't finish one without someone getting pissy. I eventually realized that I couldn't do this anymore and I told him I made a mistake and that I'm not attracted to men. We are still very good friends and if I could be attracted to men, he would be the perfect boyfriend for me. Sometimes I think Korra is a lesbian like me. Sometimes, I think she's bi and just Makko wasn't a good fit. Either way is a perfectly fine way to think about it. No matter what, she is a badass sapphic and I'm glad we can all be inspired by her in some way.
Hey first off, I want to thank you for sending this and being really awesome about the way you've approached this. You don't always see it on tumblr, so it's much appreciated!
There's a lot you've said, so instead of responding completely line for line, I'm just going to write my complete opinion about this and hopefully it makes sense.
Bryke had made two official statements after the airing of the show, none that overtly say that they are bisexual, but it is heavily implied, especially in Bryan's statement which is the first post linked (x)(x). As quoted by Bryan, "Despite what you might have heard, bisexual people are real!"
Comphet is a legitimate issue in the world today, but I personally never got that feeling from Korra or Asami (through the series or comics). I believed that their relationships with Mako were genuine and it just didn't work out (all of them being the issue, not just Mako, lol). But again, that is my own personal viewpoint.
Erasure is the thing that I want to tackle most and hopefully I can do that cohesively and in an understandable way. The idea of labeling and identities on a personal standpoint is fluid and is on a spectrum. As a person, you don't need to label yourself or you can label yourself if you'd like, you can be as you are and that's okay. Personally, I identify as Queer because Bisexual does fit me, but just not completely in the way I'd like it to. Pan doesn't fit quite right, neither does Lesbian. So, thus I label myself as Queer leaning towards Bisexual tendencies.
But this idea and concept of labeling is very different when it comes to media and it's not focused on a real life person and their experiences. Labeling in media is important and that is because of positive representation in society. Often times, bisexual characters are portrayed in negative ways, so when there is positive portrayal and representation, this is important to the nth degree. Korra and Asami also weren't just side characters, they were main characters. So to have a clearly positive portrayal of bisexual characters on a mainstream show, that was huge. On top of this, this was a children's show, so to be a little kid or even someone older, finally seeing someone that is like you would be a significant moment in your life. This is honestly another reason why I love Korrasami so much, because of my own struggles with identity.
This all can be countered with the idea that they're lesbians and wouldn't that be good representation too? Yes, it would be, but it also wouldn't be as significant when taking into account all of TV/Film media.
If we breakdown and take in all of the positive representation of Lesbians vs Bisexuals, it would be more significant for them to be bisexual in a time where there was little to no good bisexual representation. In 2013 '64.7 percent of inclusive films included gay male characters. 23.5 percent included lesbian characters, and 17.7 percent contained bisexual characters.' Presently, on cable TV 34% of regular and recurring LGBTQ characters were lesbian and 18% of regular and recurring LGBTQ characters were bisexual. On streaming, lesbian representation makes up 28% and bisexual representation makes up 19%. These numbers don't even break down if it's positive representation either! So again, although real life sexuality is fluid or can be on a spectrum, media labeling is more rigid and representative of a specific area. Making it extremely significant and influential when there is a character labeled a specific way, bisexual in this case.
To this day, people still deny that bisexual people exist. Often times the debate is whether a person is gay or straight, but nothing more. So erasure is a big deal and claiming that Korra or Asami are lesbians can be detrimental in ways that people may not have thought of at first. People can obviously identify with a character and feel attachment to them, but there is no reason to not feel that attachment if their sexual orientation may differ from your own.

hello! ive been checking in on ur posts every now and then bc im curious abt many things writeblr, but ill just ask one question: should i create a separate account for a possible writeblr blog? it would easily separate main followed blogs from writeblr follows, but im not sure if its necessary? i know u have a main account, but main accounts can follow and leave likes, so should i go the extra mile? (bonus points: incentivize me to create writeblr blog 😅 im nervous!)
It's really up to you; there's no real standard or anything. It's just up to your personal preference.
The only real difference between having a writeblr main blog or a writeblr sideblog is where you send your likes/comments/asks from. If you really want all of those sent from your writeblr, you should make a new account. If you don't care, having a side blog will be fine. It's also just a matter of whether you want to stay logged into one account, or if you're fine with logging in back and forth between your two accounts!
You can be a writeblr whether it's a sideblog, main blog, hybrid blog, anything. You do what works for you!
I'm not going to incentivize you to make a writeblr or not, because I firmly believe that it should be your choice to make one, because you want to join, and because you feel ready to join!
If you're too nervous to make a writeblr blog, that's okay. You don't have to do it now! We'll always be here for when you're ready.
But if you really want to make a blog, there's really not much to be scared of. Most people here are super nice and supportive. It might take some time for you to find your followers and to find some people you like to be around, but they're definitely out there! Putting yourself out there to make connections can be really nerve-wracking, but I think we're all in a really similar boat of wanting to connect with people. I would guess that most people are also feeling a little scared and nervous, and that they don't know what to post or how to be a part of the community too! You're not alone, and you'll find like-minded people here.
And if you make a writeblr blog, and you decide that you don't want to maintain it, that's okay too! It's okay to change your mind; you always have a choice. You have the power, and you can control your writeblr experience. You can decide to withdraw from the community, and you can decide when you want to engage with the community. You can do it! Do what feels right for you.
And if you ever need any further help, feel free to stop by my asks again 😊 Welcome to the community, I'm so very glad that you're here. Good luck!

I was tagged by @kalutyka and @starrose17 for the 20 questions game. Thank you both 💗
I did this recently, but it's buried on my blog, so I'll copy/paste the note I typed it in.
1. Why did you choose your url? I was wanting to rebrand and fandom-hoarder seemed apt. I didn't follow through, though; I'm still ladygizarme everywhere else.
2. Any side blogs? Nope. All my mess is here.
3. How long have you been on Tumblr? I made my account in 2013 I think, but there was a large gap of years where I wasn't on cuz life was too hectic. Until 2020 happened.
4. Do you have a queue tag? No. Most of my queue is non fandom and set for when I should be asleep, but I don't organize it. (I hardly organize anything. My tags are mostly feels.😓)
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place? I resisted for 2 years, according to my first tumblr post on pg 2350 of my blog (currently)! (That pg # is definitely higher now.) Kept finding myself here through Young Justice and Teen Wolf posts on lj and finally caved on having a place to reblog. Everyone was migrating from lj and I stopped procrastinating.
6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp? It was/is my main account icon on lj and I wanted to be recognizable. Also I love dragonflies and the palette of the icon evokes a dark ethereal feeling to me. (That hairy, alien body, one eye bulb, gossamer wings, stark background. Love.)
7. Why did you choose your header? I started getting followers that weren't bots and wanted my blog to look a little more cohesive. It's non fandom because I'm lazy and have a tendency to keep the same header/wallpaper for AGES so wanted something...neutral but my aesthetic. It's just a pic I took of a tree I like.
8. What's your post with the most notes? Err... I'm gonna have to get on desktop to see... Okay, in the last month my most popular post is the twist on daddy kink. If there's a way to find my all-time top post, I don't know it. 😓
Edit: thank you for this link, @kalutyka
It's now confirmed: my post linked above IS the one with the most notes rn. 93
9. How many mutuals do you have? Is there a way to know? I think desktop has a special symbol on the followers page but I'm not counting that. I have a lot of mutuals now. It's nice. 😁
10. How many followers do you have? 156 and finally more real ones than bots lol (that number is still the same, so I've lost as many followers as I've gained this week lol.)
11. How many people do you follow? 249 252 at the moment
12. Have you made a shitpost? Surely.
13. How often do you use Tumblr each day? All day in between RL things. Tumblr replaced fb as my sm fixation so this is actually not as unhealthy as it sounds. Notifications on tumblr actually make me happy instead of anxious.
14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? No
15. How do you feel about "you need to reblog this" posts? Immediate, full-bodied rebellion, typically.
16. Do you like tag games? Yes!! I take awhile to do them sometimes, but I save the link so I can find it when I need to. I get nervous about tagging people, though lol.
17. Do you like ask games? Yes!! See above❤
18. Which of your mutuals do you think is Tumblr famous? All of them? Idk.
19. Do you have a crush on a mutual? Every one 🥰😘
20. Tag: I'm too foggy to list names rn. If you see this and want to play, I tag you!

Welcome!
Since I’m rebooting this blog entirely, it’s only logical that the first post to make on the cleaned slate is an introduction! I did not at all think about this in advance I am very much doing this on the spot, so this might be bad, but who cares honestly? I don’t! :D
Firstly, about me: I’m known on the net mainly as MichelleKyura, but you can just call me Michelle if you’d prefer. I will not reveal my age but I am currently still a minor so please be aware of that when interacting with me. I go by she/her. I enjoy roleplaying, but my two most notable hobbies are gaming and drawing! That should cover that. Next, things that I’m interested in! Be aware the stuff I post will rotate fairly often because my hyperfixations change a lot and I also don’t post that consistently (I'm working on that lmao) So if I go from posting one thing to something else and then do it again later, that’s kinda why. Basically, if you’re just following me for one thing, uh.... welp don’t expect that to be the only thing you’re getting from me lmao it’s not. I’m going to try and keep things as varied as I can and post whenever I can (used to not post much bc of being nervous and whatnot but I am slowly learning to stop giving a shit and do whatever I want) but you’re definitely gonna see mostly whatever I'm fixated on at the time still.
My current hyperfixation(s)... are on The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls/Deresute, Sushi Pack, and Pokemon Conquest! You can expect to primarily see posts about one or several of these things!
Other series I am interested in include: My Little Pony, Pokemon, Splatoon/Coroika, Stylve Savvy are all special interests; I also like Uma Musume, Total Drama, Mario, Kirby, The Binding Of Isaac, Slime Rancher, Steven Universe, Little Witch Academia, Yo-Kai Watch, WarioWare, Cuphead, and others. I may not post much about them but you are free to talk to me about them anytime if you’d like!
As for tagging, everything I reblog will use a simple #reblog, text posts will contain #kyura speaks, my art will contain #kyuras art, and all other image posts will have #kyuras content. additionally now we will also has a #kyura writes tag for when I share my writing! Then add all the appropriate tags for any characters or fandoms and general tag ramblings, and bam! A post. If you want to sort through my posts by type, that’s how ya gotta do it. I’ll also be updating this occasionally just to make sure everything's up to date so if i decide i feel like being stupid and posting because i have brainrot and need to scream somewhere at least you can maybe be ready for it lmao
If you want more information about me and links to my other socials, my favorite characters, etc, check out my carrd. https://michellekyura.carrd.co/
Notes: There may shipping content on this blog time to time so if shipping bothers you I might not recommend following me, and again I swap fixations often so I won’t always be posting the same thing. (I’ll update this post whenever they shift though)
One last note, this is technically not my main. When I first came to Tumblr it was for different purposes and this account was made later on. Reblogs and such will be able to come from this account, but likes, follows, etc won’t. My main blog should just be empty and redirect here now though since this, functionally, has become my main.
So I’m just kinda here to post art, memes, be dumb, find others who might like the same things as me, and have a good time. Hope you have one too.

Story about Weight Loss
Hiro: Anyway, this has no relation (to the acoustic session) whatsoever, but didn’t I get super thin?
Kid’z: You did! Tell us more! You really did lose weight! Nob too!
Hiro: We declared during Hall Tour that we’d lose weight within one month, but we couldn’t do it. We made a promise though, didn’t we? I did my very best, you know?? I seriously gave it all I got!!
Kid’z: I’ve been avoiding carbs for a long time, and even tried diligently apportioning my meals and stuff like that. But before I knew it, I was already eating curry!
Crowd: *laughs*
Fan: How much weight did you lose?
Hiro: I dropped 6 kg.
Crowd: Ohhh! *claps*
Kid’z: That’s a lot!
Hiro: Amazing, right? On the contrary, I’ve always been fat.
Kid’z: No, seriously.
Hiro: I lost weight so that I can get fat again. I want to get fat so I lose weight. When I’ve lost weight, I’ll gain weight again. It’s a never ending cycle.
Kid’z: Don’t leave it as it is!
Hiro: I get told that all the time. I mean, I’m gonna gain weight before METROCK again anyway.
Kid’z: Isn’t METROCK great though?
Hiro: Can I say this? Why do they hold festivals at such a season?
Kid’z: Because (the weather) is cool? I once thought Doraemon was the one singing.
Hiro: Who you calling 123 cm tall?
Kid’z: Nobita-kun.
Hiro: I’m not the blue geezer.
Kid’z: He isn’t a geezer!
Hiro: He’s a geezer, isn’t he?
Crowd: *laughs*
Hiro: Generally, we release a CD around spring or summer. Then we start tour around autumn, right? From the beginning of fall, Hiroki starts losing weight. Little by little. Then, year end starts rolling in. By the end of the year, tour ends, it becomes production season, and eating Hiroki comes out. Hiroki enters hibernation, just like any other large mammal.
Kid’z: You need to stock up, right?
Hiro: Yep, so I can get through winter. Then it becomes spring again. METROCK is waiting for me, but I don’t want stocked-weight-from-hibernation-at-its-max Hiroki to be exposed there! Why do I keep getting told I got fatter or thinner every time?! Leave me alone!!!
Kid’z: But you did your best, right?
Hiro: ...Yep.
Kid’z: Good job.
Crowd: *claps*
Kid’z: How about Nob? How are you doing?
Nob: I lost 5 kg.
Hiro: You lost weight only because you were sick, right?
Kid’z: Because his tonsils were taken out.
Nob: I haven’t gotten my sense of taste back up until now.
Hiro: Don’t let yourself lose one of your most important senses!
Nob: Some time ago I had pickles and it was the best.
Hiro: What an old man.
Story about Poor Kid’z (figuratively and literally)
Kid’z: This story has no relation to anything we’ve talked about so far, but you (Hiro) started an IG account, right? During Hall Tour. Since then, you did a lot of things to me, like that game with the paper cups and the 10,000 yen you put inside one of them, which I played along with having good intentions in mind. I chose the right cup and you gave me the bill, but you revealed that there was 100,000 yen in the other cups.
Hiro: Yep.
Kid’z: ...I tried that with a friend. I was caught. 100,000 yen.
Hiro: Eh?? They made a winning move, huh.
Kid’z: I was like, “Oh no, what should I do?? Should I take it back?” I wanted to be able to fool someone, to get a taste of how it feels! So I started turning the cups around thinking I could do it like you did. When it was time for them to pick, my friend chose a different cup, and in my head I was all, “No no no, not that!!!” and eventually they got it...
Hiro: That person probably saw my IG post and thought you were an idiot.
Thoughts on Marriage
After Love Letter, Hiro and Kid'z talked about being excited yet nervous to play the next song, since it's been a while since they last played it.
Kid’z: Speaking of which, the person beside me seems to be nervous!!
Nob: *rubbing his palms on his pants*
Kid’z: Can I do a hand check? *touches Nob's palm* It's all sticky!
Hiro: Eh? You're scared of making a miss again? Like in Yokoari? Higedan. Ah! Speaking of which, Satoshi-kun got married! Congratulations!
H&K: *congratulate Nob*
Hiro: Eh? Official?
Kid’z: This is Unofficial.
Hiro: Ah, sorry. Unofficial. He got married, huh... There's been a crazy marriage rush recently...
Kid’z: Yeah, it's been all over LINE NEWS lately.
Hiro: Right. back number, Higedan, Maple Chogokin.
Kid’z: You're mean for putting Maple Chogokin as last!
Hiro: No no no. *laughs* The marriage rush is insane, right... Right... Insane right...
Fan: Do you want to get married?
Hiro: ...I don't wanna get married.
Crowd: Eh???
Hiro: Do you? Someday, I assume. As for me, I don't wanna get married at all.
Kid’z: *in a teasing tone* Is it because you don't have a partner?
Hiro: *taunting tone* Ha? Ha? Ha? What the hell are you saying, you.
Kid’z: Ah, sorry we had a little quarrel.
Hiro: Let's get a divorce first!
Kid’z: What the hell is this breakup!
Poor Nob

Hiro: Anyway, are we good? You (Nob) still seem nervous. How are his fingers?
Kid’z: They're tender.
Hiro: If I had to play it in a room like this, I'd be pissed.
Nob: *strums a tune*
Kid’z: It's that song!! It's definitely that song, right? Can you do it, Nob bear? Are you alright? You practiced last night without sleeping.
Kid’z: Give him your support.
Crowd: Cute!! You can do it!!!
Kid’z: The pressure on you is rising, huh.
Hiro: *in an old man voice* You can do it! You can do it! You can do it!
Kid’z: Eh? What was that voice? Father?
Hiro: *taunting tone* Ha? What the hell are you saying. Who you calling father, come home and I'll kill you.
Kid’z: Ah, sorry. Father, I apologize.
Hiro: to Nob You okay? Dududadududa~ (T/N: the intro of LET IT DIE) The last song for the acoustic session. Please listen, LET IT DIE.
Then, Hiro crouched down from his seat and kneeled, looked at Nob closely, and so did Kid’z. Nob stared back, aced the dududadududa intro and everybody clapped for him! However, Nob made a mistake towards the very end, playing the last string of notes twice. When they were walking back to the main stage, Hiro put his arm around Nob and teased in a mocking tone, "Hey, in LET IT DIE, in LET IT DIE, hey, during the acoustic set, hey, I was satisfied with the beginning, but in the middle of the song, hey, you made a mistake, right? Even if you were doing so well." When they got back to the main stage, Nob bowed down in apology.
Weight of my pride MC
Hiro: Your voice has been heard! There were a lot of requests for PTP, and in my heart, PTP is my eternal hero. It shouldn't be just us; so that he can also hear your voices, shout as loud as you can Kobe!!! Next song is called Weight of my pride!

モノクロエフェクター MC
Hiro: How are we doing Kobe? I thought everyone in Kobe could handle it, you know? Aren't y'all drinking too much milk tea? Your nipples are gonna become tapioca if you drink too much milk tea, you know? Well, if you're sure you're not drinking too much then you should be able to handle it, so let's all dance together!!
Reviver MC
Hiro: Thank you so much for today! It's been a great day, I'm really grateful. I've always been alone. I've lost so many people I didn't want to lose, and I've let go of things I didn't want to part with many times. I might not be able to change the world with music, but because of music, I met the members, I met all of you, and it made me think that my life was pretty impressive. I want to believe it was my destiny to meet all of you here tonight, so let's keep walking together Kobe!!!
With You MC
Hiro: Thank you so much for today, Kobe!!! After this, the tour will be ending soon. Thinking about it makes me sad, but knowing that you will all be supporting us next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, and even after 10 years makes me feel very grateful. But there's one thing I want to say before today ends: Kobe, I love you!!!
THE OVER MC
Hiro: How was it? MFS' UVERworld. Did I become Hiroki∞? This song was really difficult. The way the lyrics jump, especially during the part before the last chorus.
Kid’z: I didn't learn that note.
Hiro: *emphasizes the difficult enunciation of a line from the song* Unbelievable, I had a hard time remembering it.
Kid’z: The instruments were tough, too. Even Nob was complaining, there were notes he had never seen before.
Hiro: I couldn't match the timing of the lyrics either. I had to enter at an exact time, 3 characters in one second!! If MFS were to do it, we'd go with a lower key.
Kid’z: You say MFS but it's your key, right? Your voice is hella loud you know.
Hiro: It's because if I'm alone, then it's not MFS.
Kid’z: Nah, we were able to match the key, but only you can sing it that high, right? (T/N: They seemed to have raised the key by 2 octaves)
Hiro: You guys thought the cover song was only Weight of my pride, didn't you? You're wrong! We did UVERworld but we received many other requests. There were a lot of PTP songs in the tags. Who else was it... Sheena Ringo, Oral, and King Gnu too.
Kid’z: Weirdly enough, B'z was highly requested too.
Hiro: It'd be weird if I sang their songs.
Crowd: Sing! Sing! Sing!
Hiro: 萎えぇぇ!萎えぇぇ!萎えぇぇぇぇー (T/N: Nae is Japanese slang that roughly translates to “no” or “ugh” in this context) Wait a minute. Change the song.
Kid’z: *offended tone* Huh?
Hiro: Well then, sing a line that starts with A!
Hiro: You're an Ultra Soul Idiot. Do you know any other song apart from Ultra Soul?
Kid’z: Of course I do! Don't you? All of you? I love them more than anyone else, I'm even in the fanclub! こいよ!!
Kid’z: *sings a B'z line that starts with A*
Hiro: Gi!
Kid’z: Gi? *sings a line that starts with Gi* I told you, I can do anything.
Teru: Yu!
Kid’z: Yu? YUME JANAI ARE MO KORE MO SONO TE DE DOA MO AKEMASHOU, SHUKUFUKU GA HOSHII NARA KANASHIMI O SHIRI HITORI DE NAKIMASHOU, SOSHITE KAGAYAKU ULTRA SOUL!
Crowd: HEY!!!
Hiro: Oi, Teruki!! Why did you say "yu"?! You should've let him build up first before making him sing "yu"!! It was too early to make him sing that as the third song!
Kid’z: It felt really good!!
Hiro: Why did you say "yu" so quickly?!
Teru: I just made a mistake.
Hiro: Don't be an airhead!!
Kid’z: I'm really grateful!
Nob’s Redemption Arc
After their UVERworld cover, Hiro asked the audience what they should do next. The crowd started screaming different songs, to which Hiro said "I'm seriously fine with anything." Nob suddenly played the first three notes of LET IT DIE, to which Hiro said, "Ah, from earlier?" Kid'z said, "He made a mistake a while ago, so let's give him another chance." Then Nob started practicing. The crowd screamed, "You can do it!!!" then Nob walked towards the center stage and did a moonwalk. Hiro was all, "You can't do it, you're not Michael Jackson!" then sang a MJ line and howled his signature "Woo!"
Final MC
Hiro: Today was truly an amazing day, thank you all so much. We had such an intense gathering here at Kobe World Memorial Hall. The first Coming Kobe was also held here. We have so, so, so many memories here in this place. Right now, we're still on our way to reaching our dream. From hereon, we don't know if we could make such a big dream come true. We still have a long way there, but we're doing our best every year, making music for everyone and visiting various places as well. Next year, and the year after that, and even after 10 years, it would be nice if we could all make amazing memories together. Thank you so much! We're definitely coming back, Kobe!!

I'm sorry if you've been asked this before but what fanfiction platform do you think has the most reader engagement? I cross post to ffn and Ao3 and I was considering making a wattpad account, but I was nervous because wattpad seems to have a bad reputation in the fanfic community?
Thanks for the question! I have already talked about this a bit, [x] but I certainly don’t mind elaborating more. 😊
I don’t think there is a definitive answer to your first question. Engagement depends on too many factors to determinate which site yields the highest engagement in an absolute way, I think it’s something to look at on a case-by-case basis.
Concerning FFN and AO3, I’m pretty sure of my conclusion that, while FNN’s audience can be interested in a wide range of genres, AO3′s one mostly only care about shipping. (Or I could even say porn, actually.) So, if you’re writing genfics, FNN would generally be a safer bet. The difference isn’t so great, but I think there is one. However, this isn’t absolute. I have one story (White Lies) that initially didn’t do very well on FNN (compared to my other stories) but got a lot more feedback than I was used to on AO3. This story is completely gen, so I cannot explain the reason. The same can also be true on a chapter-by-chapter basis, actually… I’ve had instances where I didn’t get as many reviews as I was used to on FNN, only to get more on AO3. I don’t have any explanation.
However, there is something else I should point out. On FNN, I can even get an engagement that is almost close to some of the popular writers around, genfics or not. (Contemporary writers, clearly – making a comparison with older fics is useless as the feedback used to be much richer.) In contrast, on AO3 my feedback is definitely a lot lower than most other writers, especially those who write romance. This could be because their fics are much higher quality than mine, of course. However, it’s a phenomenon I have observed quite consistently. This would bring me to the conclusion that, while posting a genfic on a site or another doesn’t make such a big difference, the difference may be more significative for shipping fics, that get a much a higher engagement on AO3. (Of course, this is, once again, not absolute. And it always depends on the ship and many other factors.)
But that’s only for AO3 and FFN. As far as Wattpad is concerned, instead… as I have already mentioned, the site not being built for fanfiction but simply allowing it along with original fiction generates a lot of issues in terms of tagging and classification. I think that both AO3 and FFN are better than Wattpad for posting fanfiction. This doesn’t mean one couldn’t also crosspost on Wattpad in the hope of getting a few more readers, however. I just wouldn’t recommend it as primary posting site.
As you mentioned, Wattpad has a bad reputation. To be perfectly honest, I think it’s earned: from what I was able to see, the writing quality is generally abysmal. You can find some hidden gems, of course, but they’re few and far in between. I don’t think this should discourage you from posting there, however. The quality of your fics doesn’t depend on the site you post them on. If you write good fics, they will be among the rare good ones you can find on Wattpad. 😊
You should also be aware that the userbase tends to be quite young, though – young teens and even pre-teens. I actually don’t think I would have made an account on Wattpad if I had known this, it feels kind of too childish. But I didn’t realize this until I had already posted a few fics and gained a few readers who only use Wattpad, so deleting everything felt unfair to them.
The main reason I wouldn’t recommend Wattpad is that new stories are really hard to see. There is only one way to see stories in chronological order, but it’s not straight-forward and I suspect not many people use it. (And it doesn’t even always work.) In general, people read stories because, when you click on a work, you also get a list of recommended ‘similar’ stories. How they get recommended, however, I have no idea. In general, the recommended stories are already a bit popular. You need to already have a bit of engagement for your story to be recommended. I really don’t have the slightest idea of how you can get from a completely new story with no engagement to having just enough engagement to get your story circulating through recs. For months, I didn’t have a single comment or like. I don’t know what made things change.
On a more positive note, Wattpad users tend to be very generous with their comments. Since you can leave a comment for each paragraph, you can also follow their impressions and reactions as they read the chapter, something I really like. I should probably also mention that you get a lot of comments that aren’t relevant to the story in a way I have never seen on other sites, however. That’s the price of getting a lot of comments, I guess. But, there is no guarantee your fic will get noticed quickly, if at all. It could also be a complete flop, due to the navigation issues I have mentioned above.
In conclusion, if you feel like crossposting on another site as well, I’d say to ignore Wattpad’s reputation and go for it, but don’t expect too much. Especially at first. And, if you are intentioned to go through with this, don’t delete your fics if you haven’t gotten any feedback in a couple of days or even weeks. Due to the odd algorithm, it may even take months for them to be noticed – but once they do, they’ll quickly find a wider audience. 😊
I hope this was useful, and good luck with your fics! 😘
Edit: I just saw another thing that’s relevant to the discussion. To give you an idea of how much Wattpad’s algorithm to recommend stories sucks…
Tumblr media
…I keep getting recommended my own stories. And it’s not even the first time. [x]
…We’re on a Tumblr-like level of bad. 😅

hiiii idk why i'm so nervous but i really really wanna start writing fanfiction. ljke full out "woah this makes me feel stuff" fanfiction and i thought you'd be the best place to come for pointers because you're literally amazing but anyways do ylu have any suggestions as to 1. where to write it 2. starting tips 3. what not to do?? thanks!! i really really want to but i'm little scared to
OOOH, I WAS RECENTLY GIVING THE SAME ADVICE TO MEG BONNEY ON TWITTER. Okay, here we go. Let’s do this.
How To Start Writing Fanfic for Beginners:
Okay, so, the first thing we usually do is have a beta reader-- someone who looks over stories and checks for writing flow, typos, and, most importantly in the case of fanfiction, characterization. You find one before you start writing so that you have a cheerleader who can talk about ideas with you and push you through when you feel like you wanna quit. This is a formality, though, and can be skipped. My one-shots usually are in the 20k+ range so I like to have three or four people look over them, but if I'm writing a 6k one shot, for example, I only have one beta reader.
I’m actually pretty sure that the origination of this practice actually came from everyone trying to figure out how to make friends in fandom. If you're the beta reader on someone's story, you're automatically buddies. Google docs has made this way easier, though-- it used to be long email chains. *shudders*
Step two, decide which host sites you're going to post your fic on. Different fandoms are more popular on different fic sites. The most popular fanfic sites are http://fanfiction.net , http://archiveofourown.org (AO3, we call it), and sometimes tumblr, depending on the length of the fic!
So, for example, the Percy Jackson fandom is really really into http://fanfiction.net (or at least was when I was writing for it?) That's where you get the most reviews/comments and the most hits for that fandom. In the case of Teen Wolf/Stydia the most popular site is AO3, easily. But if the piece you wrote is a drabble (in the 1k range), you can also plop it on tumblr. If it's in the 2k range, it's acceptable to put it on tumblr under a "read more."
For all these sites, you need an account, but AO3 is technically in beta mode (idk why; it's been like that for multiple years?) and therefore you sign up and then have to wait for an invite. But it's worth it because once you have an account, you can view the history of the fics you've read, bookmark faves, leave comments, and, of course, publish fics.
Unlike ffnet, AO3 also categorizes fics into fandoms, which is really really helpful if you write for multiple fandoms. Their sorting system is really good and really specific, which is why people use it. I think that, at this point, AO3 is undoubtedly the most diversely enjoyed site.
Here's some things you definitely need to know about posting on AO3:
(This is SUPER important), it's considered REAL bad manners to tag characters/ships that aren't the centric pairing. So, the fic is gonna ask you for characters and the ship. If you're writing a fic where Stiles and Lydia are the centric pairing, you're gonna fill in Lydia Martin, Stiles Stilinski, and then Lydia Martin/Stiles Stilinski. But say your story also has a few scenes with Scott? Either don't mention Scott, or do "Scott McCall- Side.”
The reader should be able to clearly tell what type of fic it is by your tags. (Unless you don’t want them to know). You can create your own tags or you can use the site's already established ones. AO3 tags can get slightly obnoxious but nobody’s going to call you out for that so enjoy.
If your fic takes place within the bounds of the series, you tag it "Canon Compliant." If it not only fits with the plot of the series but also takes place literally during the series, tag it "Missing Moments." If it diverges from the plot line of the series, you tag it "Canon Divergent." If it is after the series is over, tag it "Post-Canon."
If it’s AU, tag the kind of AU it is. “Coffee Shop AU” “AU-- The Hunger Games” “AU-- Everyone Lives” “AU-- Stiles is Olaf from Frozen and gets it on with Anna who is Lydia.” (Spoilers for my next fic.) (Just kidding.)
ALSO when you're posting, it's a huge struggle because AO3 either requires HTML coded stuff (for italics, etc) or rich text. My suggestion would be either putting your fic on tumblr and copy and pasting the rich text from the finished post, or getting an account on ffnet and using their document uploader to c+p your fic into, then save it and copy and paste it into the rich text part of the fic loader on AO3
So now, ratings.
Here's what you've got: G,T, M, E.
G is like... no swearing, no mention of sex, you could read it as a bed time story to a 6 year old.
T is swearing, acknowledgment that sex exists, maybe some kissing (but you're getting to shaky territory as soon as you venture anywhere remotely past second base) light, non-descriptive violence (there's also a tag for violence under "archive warnings" because some people get triggered by it.)
M is lighter sex scenes (I would say anything that doesn't describe genitalia? Idk, this is a real fine line. I think you’ll feel it in your bones. Or, bone, in the case of smut.
Nailed that joke.
HA GEDDIT. I did it again.
E is like, you're going to hell for writing this, enjoy hanging out with satan in the fiery pits, I hope it's worth it.
If you post on tumblr, tag appropriately. Tumblr tagging is different from ao3-- you just tag to sort things, and so that the right people see your work. So, like, if you wrote a Stydia fic, obviously don't tag it Sterek or Sciles because you'll get hate, lmao. You can tag character names, but I would suggest you don't tag "Stiles Stilinski" or "Lydia Martin" because the Sterk/Mrrish/Stlia shippers tend to attack you. Also, only the first five tags count.
And now, the Don’ts of fanfiction***
Make sure your spacing doesn’t look awful.
It makes people not wanna read it
You should know what regular spacing looks like. If you’re able to correct it so that there’s not eons of space between paragraphs, I would do that.
Don’t say “Sorry for the bad summary I promise it’s better than it sounds” in your summary.
“Their tongues battle for dominance” or other equally cliche dialogue
Original characters as main characters
Fandom crossovers are almost always rolled their eyes at in the fic community. Like, you can thrust your characters into a different universe, but normally, you can’t use the original characters. So by all means, write a Percy Jackson AU, but don’t make Fitzwilliam Darcy best friends with Annabeth Chase.
POV SWITCHING IN YOUR FIC
Okay this is really delicate because some people can do it really well and some people can’t
Switching back and forth between character point of view within one section of your fic is really hard for the reader to keep up with and it tends to look clumsy. It’s a no-no.
If you have divides between sections, that’s where you can switch POV.
However, I tend to write almost all of my fics with just one POV. I pick Character 1 or Character 2 no matter how long it is. It’s cleaner that way.
NEVER USE FIRST PERSON IN FANFICTION, IT IS UNIVERSALLY LOATHED.
I need to remember this one-- don’t describe clothes too much. You’ll sound like a cheesy YA novel. (I’m a hypocrite, okay?)
Titles matter. Work hard on picking a title. I s2g it actually makes a big difference. Idk why. Titles.
***Side note: All writing rules are all allowed to be broken. There is truly no such thing as a steadfast writing rule. The more comfortable you get with writing, the more comfortable you could be with breaking these rules. Does that make sense?
