"It's normal for siblings to fight" Okay well it's not normal to be extremely classist and look down on your sister for being non-conforming. Or to go to the woman who ordered the death of your pet to tell her about your father's plans, when he specifically warned you against doing so, because you want to marry the boy you saw attack your sister and her friend (contributing partially to said father's death and your sister being unable to escape on the ship he chartered). Or to think of your sibling as unsatisfactory in comparison to another when you believe her to be dead. I notice that none of the "Sansa and Arya are going to reunite and instantly have no issues" crowd ever acknowledge any of this, which makes it seem like they don't actually believe what they say about their relationship being normal and easily reconciled. People wanting them to have no issues simply because they're siblings is another example of how fandom likes to flatten complex characters and relationships. They get reduced to being bickering siblings when their conflict runs deeper than that. If the author is telling you that they have "deep issues" to work out [X], I don't understand being so adamant about ignoring said issues. I also get the sense it's about ignoring the capacity for a certain character to be flawed, but that isn't going to change the fact that her "slip of the tongue" is very likely to be revealed and a source of further conflict 🤷🏾‍♀️

(Epilepsy dad here, who is a comics fan, and has 4 kids who love reading the warrior cat books and have the Minifig warriors become superheroes In the Gotham city I hot as a kid) im digressing here: What keeps the warrior cats fandom strong is how you all form up around the cats that were mistreated by the writers, how you bring them into your homes and hearts and make better features for them. Like "oh yeah these two characters who have been enemies for like four seasons of a TV show had their entire reconciliation OFF SCREEN in the time skip between episodes right at the end so it works" or "oh yeah this character who was left basically broken had their entire growth and development where they came to terms with the thing that broke them in the time skip so it works" kind of stuff. But still leaning on the side of disliking it. #My thoughts mainly changed after talking to certain ppl (who to my knowledge are either against or neutral on it). #Two things these ppl had in common was the fact that neither were proship and both thought ship discourse was dumb (which yeah agree) #(Also for reference I'm not proship either) #When talking with one of these people we were talking about Holydemon and the discourse surrounding it. #Which made me think... #Both Batmeat and Holydemon share something in common. And that's in both ships the characters canonically hate each other and one killed/- #injured the other. #And in no way in the canon (key word CANON) universe would they get along under any circumstances. #But then why is one more accepted over the other?? #And then I realised it has to do mostly with this weird mob mentality the fandom has coupled with the way both these ships are interpreted. #Based on my own experiences it seemed Batmeat was mostly enjoyed by the genuinely gross people in the fandom. #And by this I mean people that had gross intentions with the ship and wanted to interpret it in an abusive way. #Meanwhile Holydemon was created as a silly joke between the Spooky Month team that evolved from joke to people genuinely enjoying it. #To my knowledge Holydemon was never created out of ill intent but rather to be a silly joke + demon x priest old man yaoi funny. #But Batmeat was mostly used by pro/comshippers to fetishize/romanticise abuse. #(Please keep in mind I have seen a bunch of examples on Twt as the ship doesn't seem to be as big here on Tumblr and isn't much of a- #point of discussion). #(But I found that a lot of the known gross ppl in the fandom seemed to enjoy Batmeat which I can only assume left a bad taste in- #people's mouths. i feel very frustrated about the trend of giving chil body hair bc if it was any other anime twink i would be thrilled its just that it seems to only be because people are SO afraid of him looking young they have to make him hairy to justify liking him in ships.

meanwhile it does directly go against canon (he literally is supposed to look like a child. this is integral to both his character and his race's lore as a whole and it makes no damn sense that he would be mistaken for a child if he has body hair i mean. cmon.)

and it's like. some men are hairless. some men look young. when youre a trans man in your 20s-30s its especially common to be mistaken for a teenager, even more so if you're not on t. and short. these traits do not make you less of a man or an adult. :/
