Wahoo, hello~!!!!! Thanks @you-remind-me-of-the-babe for the tag!! GOD hi I am tired but also in a weird mood. For the ones who might've missed: I had a lil vacation and went to London to see Hadestown. It was a lot of fun, and we also got last minute Hamilton tickets. I also jokingly said to someone that it was "London, of Carry On fame", but to be honest, fandom was on my mind a lot.
My mum and I went to Chelsea for a restaurant she wanted to try out and yes, okay, Fiona really is rich, huh? It's also so hard to grasp that London really is that big. Yes, Baz lives with Fiona in Chelsea and Simon and Penny move to Camberwell. Close by, right? It's both in London, right? RIGHT?
We also visited Soho, which I know from sconey's fic The Gay Bar (lol) and I almost convinced mum to check out Mayfair, for Lady Ruth, but she was too tired (fair, I dragged her along everywhere). Mayfair felt easier than, you know, Hackney Wick, since that is also on the other side of London. Jeez.
I also went back to Waterstones Picadilly (... several times), which is where I first met Simon and Baz in 2013, because that's where I bought Fangirl!
Funnily enough, the Myosotis series, aka a Klaine fic, was also on my mind a lot. In Myosotis sylvatica, you learn that Pret a Manger is EVERYWHERE in New York (I think it bought Starbucks?? Don't quote me on it.) (I know it's my own fic, but it's been a while.) and I did that because I was inspired by the massive amount of Pret a Manger in London. Also, yes, I went to this city for Hadestown. Shout out to, uh, me, for replanning the entire timeline of Myosotis verna so that Kurt and Blaine could go to Hadestown on their first date.
Also, I am obsessed with Chinatown and YES it made me think of the struggles of 吃了吗? again but HEY the hotpot that I talked about last week ended up being amazing! Also, close to Chinatown is the theatre that hosts Magic Mike Live, which played a big role in my Snowbaz textfic.
If you're still reading this, hi, hello, my banner wasn't lying. Here are the six sentences you were waiting for. Matty Chris D. is still kicking around:
It all started with the Humdrum sending magickal monkeys to disrupt the welcome picnic. I’m actually quite afraid of monkeys. When I was a kid a monkey had escaped from the zoo and this asshole at primary school kept telling everyone that this monkey would kill us. So I am glad I wasn’t there. It would feel like the Humdrum would’ve sent them to torture me personally, which is ridiculous, because I am so unimportant I have trouble believing that the Humdrum knows I exist. The Humdrum is clearly obsessed with Simon Snow and boy, I am no Chosen One.
And now, the weather: @quizasvivamos @coffeegleek @caramelcoffeeaddict @raenestee @tectonicduck @nightimedreamersworld @urban-sith @thnxforknowingme @captain-aralias @cerriddwenluna @bookish-bogwitch @confused-bi-queer @that-disabled-princess @special-bc-ur-part-of-it @larkral @cutestkilla @wellbelesbian @artsyunderstudy @martsonmars @facewithoutheart @shrekgogurt @rockitmans @bitbybitwrites @whatevertheweather @theotherhufflepuff @shame-is-a-wasted-emotion @esilher @kurtsascot @blackberrysummerblog @nightimedreamersghost

Hi, so I've been pretty removed from the glee fandom for some time - you're actually the only glee blog i still follow. So I wanted to ask, what's going on in fandom that makes you want to remove yourself?
Hi Nonny!
I'm so glad you're still here!
I think that a combination of things last week just kind of hit hard -- and it was on top of some real life things that were going on. Tumblr, Glee, this blog are a source of fun and relaxation. And when it descends into drama I just want to back out and not be here. And it's frustrating because this is what I want to do in my free time -- for the fun of it.
First there was the spamming of the episode tournament. In general, people are entitled to their own opinions, but it's kind of got me down that zero episodes in season 4-6 people are championing for. So it's hard enough to watch that -- but then people cheating for really no reason because those episodes were already winning -- just feels like... I don't know. Not fun.
I'm letting it continue, and will keep it going, but my enthusiasm for active participation has waned. It's weird when the shipping tournament had less drama around it.
Then there's the revival of Klaine vs Brittana, which is just so stupid. Ship what you want to ship. And even more, people can like both ships. One isn't actually better than the other. And while I think most Brittana people are fine - there's been a rise in things like --- people saying if you don't like Brittana you hate women? Are lesphobic? (despite Brittany being bi but whatever). Telling people to kill themselves if they don't prefer Brittana? Like -- what is going on? Why do people think that's okay?
Plus, the ramping up of Blaine hate is out of control. It's always been there - but good lord people are going out of their way to hate Blaine. It's too much. It used to be more balanced where you could find as much good as bad. But I'm seeing less Blaine fans (and Kurt fans) in general, which is a bummer.
This new group of watchers just don't connect to Klaine/Kurt/Blaine like the old crew did. And that's fine - people connect to what they connect to. But there's so few people left, it's just a bummer.
And I mean, there are some great people still around. I do appreciate the fic writers and the poll givers and the gif makers. They're good people. But I do miss more discourse around the show. I don't see a whole lot of chatter or discussion or commentary like I used to.
But also, tumblr is smaller and reaches less people. I'm sure there are a ton of people on TikTok. But I have no desire to go there. Not only am I old, but a lot of the TikTok takes I've come across have given me rage so I should probably not.
Sometimes, I'm like -- have you guys even watched the show? And then I get Nonny messages that state people have only watched the first three seasons. Why? Why only like half a show? I don't get it.
And that's fine.
Plus, the unfortunate mess of Kevin and Jenna's podcast. I think at some point, I'd like to listen to it to hear what they have to say, and hear the interviews (which I've always enjoyed). I just tire of fandom either grilling them for not understanding or using them as a piece of validation. They're two people just talking about their experiences. why do we need to make a war out of everything?
That all said (and it was nice to get out), I don't hate it here. I'm not really going anywhere -- I'm not one to skim on out because other people want me to not be here. Sometimes I just need a break.
And I've been thinking about ways to do fun things again -- I've been thinking about maybe doing an episode appreciate thing, where I talk about the good in every episode.
Idk. I suppose we'll see, but that's where I'm at.

Weekend WIP - Ask Game
Rules: List your WIPs below (if you only write one fic at a time, feel free to include future WIPs/ideas!) then answer the following questions. Then, tag as many people as you have WIPs (or more).
I was tagged by @bitbybitwrites. thank you for tagging me!! I don't post fics until they are complete, so unless I've mentioned the story on my blog, some of these answers are not going to make sense to anyone but me, LOL. also, I try to only work on one WIP at a time, but I do have a few partially started/outlined stories sitting in my drafts folder on my hard drive, and I guess they are technically WIPs even if I'm not actively working on them, so here goes nothing...
-
1. WIP List:
Andy Hummel's Last Will And Testament
Breaking Stereotypes
I Taste The Truth
You And Me And The Beat
The Escape Plan
2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?:
Breaking Stereotypes is currently just over 55k words, so definitely that one ;)
3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?:
Probably Breaking Stereotypes?
4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?:
Currently, I'm only focusing on Breaking Stereotypes, and I'm really looking forward to finishing it and getting it published.
5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?:
I Taste The Truth is a pretty intimidating story to write. Which probably explains why I haven't even looked at in a few years. why? because it involves a lot of world building since Kurt is part-Fae in that fic, and I want to make sure I can explain things properly without info-dumping, but also make sure that I'm not leaving out important info that lives in my head but a reader might need extra context for.
6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?:
again, I Taste The Truth. for all the same reasons that I explained above.
7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?:
none of them? I've only ever had a beta read a fic if the story was written for a challenge where a beta was a requirement of the challenge.
8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?:
all of them!! that's why their WIPs, LOL. Breaking Stereotypes was fic I started in 2017. I think I put it on official hiatus in 2019, and have only really done minor edits here-and-there until this year when I finally figured out what direction to take the story.
9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?"
as of right now, Breaking Stereotypes is the only story with an OC. Her name is Candice. She is the manager of Blaine's band as well as Trent's girlfriend (Trent is bi in my fic). She's a smart and snarky, and she takes her job very seriously.
10. Which WIP is the sexiest?:
I don't have a lot written for it yet, but my guess is that You And Me And The Beat will be the sexiest ;)
11. Which WIP is the angstiest?:
I honestly don't know. Andy Hummel's Last Will And Testament, maybe?
12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?:
all of them? again, I don't know. I think my characterization is about equal across all my stories? I could be wrong though.
13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?:
You And Me And The Beat? maybe?
14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?:
Definitely Breaking Stereotypes.
15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?:
I don't put expectations on my fics. not the way this question implies anyway. the only expectations I have are things like "I expect this to have 20 chapters" or "I expect this to be around 20k words" or "I expect to complete this story by next week". I don't expect anything else from them. I really am that annoying person that writes stories strictly for my own enjoyment because these stories are in my head and I want to get them on paper so I can read them. even though I complain about it, the creative process of bringing these stories to life is the best part of writing fic. I just share the completed stories with the fandom for fun, because I figure there might be other people out there that will enjoy it as much as me. if not, no worries. it made me happy, and that's all that matters.
16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?:
daydream? yes. I think about all of them often. usually just the one that is my main focus of the moment, but sometimes one of the others likes to remind me it still exists, and tries to command my attention ;) however, I don't usually have dreams about my WIPs. (I have occasionally gotten an idea for a story/WIP because of a dream though)
17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't?:
I Taste The Truth has that element of including Fae attributes and otherworldly components, which makes it different from my other WIP stories.
18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?:
The Escape Plan is a fun and silly fic.
19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?:
nope. sorry.
20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs.:
I honestly can't remember what I have or have not shared about each of these fics, so I don't know what you don't know. but if you have questions you can always feel free to send me an ask! I love talking about my fics with people.

8, 9 and 14 for the salty ask game!!
8.) Have you received anon hate? What about?
Yup. I don't get it often, but it's happened. Mainly over on FFnet, but I've gotten some questionable commentary on Ao3 too.
Usually it's people pissed off that I'm writing queer fiction. Or people pissed off that I'm writing for queer identities that they want to gate keep. So basically people who are being bigoted about queerness.
There was the angry anon on FFnet who kept calling me a fag. Haven't seen him in a while, hope it's because he's learned to be more tolerant and not simply that he's moved on to other targets. I've had a couple of people react very badly to my aromantic headcanon for the Doctor. Because how dare I not believe they weren't romantically in love with Rose or River or Clara or... whoever. One really indignant person who just could not believe anyone would ship Barry and Eddie because they 'hated' each other. (They didn't? It's okay to not like a ship for no real reason and then just... avoid that ship. Don't have to hate on ships you don't understand, mmkay?) Then there was that one person who told me I was being biphobic for having Anya be a lesbian in a fic where Buffy was starting to realize she was bi. I'm quite serious about that last one, it was such a WTF moment.
I've also gotten some hate for treating characters I like in nice and understanding ways. Mostly Iris. And it's been only a few times, but I know it's just a small taste of the larger hate directed at her in the fandom at large.
9.) Most disliked character(s)? Why?
Mark Blaine. The origin of Chillblaine being that of a Captain Cold knock off in the comics was not a good sign and, to be honest, he was not well served on the show either. The writing for Mark and Frost originally felt like a poor attempt to recapture Barry's chemistry with Len, but this time the straight edition and lacking any actual chemistry. Then when he starts his redemption arc, it feels like it comes at the expense of a lot of Frost's screen time and characterization. The focus was no longer on her - it was on her boyfriend. And then when Frost died to save Caitlin - with Caitlin 'dying' shortly afterwards anyway - the focus of all the grief over Frost and Caitlin was mainly on him. Not Frost and Caitlin's friends who'd known them and loved them longer and knew their histories so much better... Mark Blaine. Who was playing replacement goldfish with Khione, when he wasn't pitching an epic fit about not being allowed to kill-replace Khione with Frost.
14.) Unpopular opinion about your fandom?
There's definitely an issue with parts of the fandom when it comes to accepting characters have messy and sometimes bad reactions to their trauma.
Cisco gets this treatment for S3 where he's grieving his brother to the point where some people still hate him for it even now, seasons later after Cisco and Barry both made amends and came out with their friendship stronger than before. Iris gets it for being angry that Barry sacrificing himself at the end of S3 forced her to relive the same trauma she's already suffered from Eddie's death at the end of S1. Frost gets it for being immature and frightened (and suicidal) in S3 and lashing out at people because she'd never learned how to handle her emotions in healthy ways. She gained so much character development and worked hard to make amends for her villainous start, but some people never acknowledge her character development post S3 because she doesn't apologize in the exactly perfect way. Harry was massively traumatized by his daughter's kidnapping when he first arrived in S2, but he grew to love and be highly protective of Team Flash. Yet some people refuse to see past that first time he called Cisco 'Crisco'.
I'm not saying that everyone has to like all the characters. Or their character arcs. But a well rounded character is not going to be perfect. They're going to react badly to circumstances some times. They shouldn't be defined only by their worst impulses, especially if they're shown to grow beyond those impulses. It's okay to dislike a character without having to 'prove' that the character is morally impure first.
Though, to be fair, the purity culture thing is a problem with fandom at large. And I've been fortunate to avoid the worst of it in the Flash fandom.

your reblogging of the gay blaine gifset is so real lol. i've created a personal blocklist of everyone who says blaine should've been bi for my own well being
LOLLL you’re so real too. i have a blocklist of all kinds of glee takes that drive me crazy (mostly blaine haters). i made the gifset because it’s so incomprehensible to me that BLAINE ANDERSON of all characters inspires sexuality discourse. he could not be more explicitly gay. there are scenes where he is called gay i forgot to include IT COULD BE A LONGER GIFSET!!!

About that thing you said how Blaine and Britt would've been the midgame if Blaine were bi, first off, I think I would've preffered that over Bram but holy shit, imagine how that would influence the wedding? Would it be weirder if Blaine and Britt were exes? Because I can sort of see how Britt would want her ex (with whom she is presumably still on good terms) to be happy, but to have her ex marry his current bf at her wedding??
Would it actually have made the bond between the couples more significant and strengthen the double wedding plot??? Because the drama surrounding that would be resolved by then so it could be more satisfying to see both couples get their happy ending.
Straight up don't think Santana would've allowed Britt's ex to crash her wedding but the possibilty intrigues me
It would really have to depend on how they go about it for me to say whether I would have preferred it to Bram. There's every possibility it would have been just as bad but I also think the writers respected Klaine a whole lot more than Samcedes so at least Blaine probably wouldn't have ignored his previous love interest to elevate a crush on Brittany. There's that.
I didn't even consider the wedding lol. I guess Santana agreeing to the double wedding is already a contentious issue. I think having dated Blaine wouldn't have changed Britt's attitude and she still would have been for it because that's just who she is and what the plot needed I mean come on the only reason Brittana got married was for Klaine to also have the opportunity. But maybe it would have actually strengthened the plot? And made the two couples' dynamic more... interesting lol.
There are so many different versions of how Santana would have reacted to a Britt and Blaine midgame. Straight up? I think Kurt would have been more bothered by it. And I think it would have bothered Santana less than Bram did. But we'll never know and that's for the best.

Chapter 1: Something’s Coming
It’s days like this when Kurt is most grateful to have a friend who’s not one of his roommates. He loves Rachel and Santana but there’s only so much girl time he can take in one week. After spending any free time he has inside the loft with one or both of his roommates, Kurt needs time away. They all do. Without Elliott, he’d have no decent reason to leave the loft on the weekends.
As much as it pains him to admit, Santana and Rachel were right in convincing him that Elliott was perfect for their band. Kurt was being an idiot when he didn’t beg Elliott to join the minute the opening of Marry The Night began. Not only was Elliott’s voice and stage presence immaculate, he was a Gaga fan. If that wasn’t a green flag, what was?
As their rehearsals and performances become more frequent, a really good friendship had formed between the two of them. They had a ton in common after all. Elliott understood that Kurt needed a friend outside of his roommates and was more than happy to suggest a weekly brunch date.
It gave Kurt a perfect excuse to leave the apartment Sunday mornings because after spending 24 straight hours with the girls he was at his limit of vocal warm-ups, half compliments/half insults, and bi-lingual yelling matches. Rachel and Santana knew these brunches were strictly between him and Elliott.
Kurt has already unloaded his Saturday baggage onto Elliott over their first cups of coffee. After they ordered food, Elliott begins doing the same. He had been cast in NYU’s spring musical. Opening night was this Friday.
“I’m just saying, Kurt,” Elliott says in between bites of an everything bagel, which is fully stuffed with veggie cream cheese. “Our María could give Rachel Berry a run for her money.”
“So you’ve said.” Quieter, he says, “many, many times.”
Of course, Elliott hears this but pays Kurt’s comment no mind.
“I’d actually pay to see the two of them compete for a role.”
Kurt sips his coffee watching Elliott’s facial expression go from exasperated by the leading lady to pure amusement imagining her and Rachel in a room together. It’s quite a sight like a child being told if they eat all their veggies there will be ice cream for dessert.
“Or better yet,” he smiles, “playing opposites in play. Just imagine the chaos that would ensue with two “I’m a Star” leads.”
“Don’t have to, Rachel and I were Romeo and Juliet at McKinley my senior year. Trust me, no amount of money is worth that.”
“I strongly disagree.”
Kurt just rolled his eyes and took a bite of his croissant.
“Enough about Lady Macbeth, I wanted to mention this guy I met.”
Kurt sits up straighter, it was rare for Elliott to mention guys to him other than the occasional one-night stand. He was focused on school and the band, not boys.
“Oooo, do I sense a romantic interest?”
Elliott waves him off, “calm down, Cupid, he’s a friend.”
“With benefits, I hope,” Kurt replies. “It’s been a while since you’ve had someone to gush about, El.”
“He’s not my type but I think he might be yours.”
Well, that comment certainly gets Kurt to shut up. He shrinks back into his seat. Kurt hated being set up.
“Look, I’ve had enough blind dates for a lifetime, I’m good,” he finally says, hoping to shut this whole thing down right here.
Rachel and Santana had their fair share of setting him up. None of those eighteen first dates went well and Kurt’s sure number nineteen, even if it was Elliott’s friend, would be no different.
Elliott hums, “we’ll see.”
Kurt fondly rolls his eyes. The subject would be dropped for now but it wasn’t the last he’d have to hear about it.
“Anything else I can get you gentlemen today?” Their waitress says.
“Um no,” Kurt says, “we’re good, just the check please.”
Elliott starts to pull out his wallet, it’s his week to pay. They alternate.
“Nope, on me,” Kurt tells him, “consider it as congratulations for West Side Story.”
“Really? Thank you.”
Elliott’s actually blushing.
“Are you blushing?” Kurt questions.
“No, no, no…it’s just hot in here.”
Totally blushing then. Kurt is still smirking when the waitress brings them their bill.
“Oh! Before I forget, here are your tickets.” Elliott slides an envelope across the table.
“What is this? A drug deal?” Kurt chuckles, looking inside the envelope he sees there are 3 tickets. “You convinced Satan?”
“Yup, she’ll be there.” Elliott looks pretty proud of himself.
“And what favor do you owe her for this?”
“Introductions to any ensemble member she finds cute.”
“Not their phone numbers?”
“She doesn’t…”
Kurt cuts him off, answering his own line of questioning, “want to limit herself to dates, she wants a hookup, not a girlfriend.”
“Basically, that’s more delicate than how she put it.”
Elliott shrugs like this isn’t a problem and Kurt supposes it isn’t. For Santana, this is a tame favor. The last time Rachel owed her, Santana made her go to a cage dancing class with her.
After brunch, Kurt’s back in school mode. Break’s over. He has an essay to read over one last time and submit by midnight tonight, some designs to finish up for his Tuesday seminar, and it’s his night to cook. If his bedroom had a door, he would’ve locked it until the sun went down but instead he shouts “do not disturb until you’re hungry” to the girls and closes the curtain.
By the time Wednesday evening rolls around, Kurt is beginning to believe the saying ‘getting over the hump’ because the rest of his week flies by. No week in April had flown by quite as quickly as this one. Before he knew it, Kurt was putting on his perfectly curated outfit to go see Elliott’s debut performance as Bernado.
Santana complained that since it was just a college production they didn’t really have to get all dressed up but when Kurt saw her sitting in the living room in a green cocktail dress and shiny black heels it was clear Rachel and him had won this particular argument. Plus, they were all going to a nice dinner afterward.
As for Rachel, she was still curling her hair.
“Please tell me, she’s dressed with makeup on,” Kurt says, “we have to leave in ten minutes.”
“She’s not,” Santana comments, not looking up from her phone.
“I am too!” Rachel shouts from the bathroom. “I’m not an idiot.”
“I beg to differ,” Santana replies, loud enough for Rachel to huff about it.
Kurt is dressed in a suit he tailored himself. Matching navy blue glen check pants and jacket paired with a lavender button-up. He forgoes a tie opting to leave the top buttons undone instead. The perfect way to dress down the suit a bit. After all, it’s just a college production.
When Rachel comes out of the bathroom, hair perfectly curled, she is indeed dressed and ready to go. She’s chosen a lovely light pink shirt and a slightly darker pink knee-length skirt.
Even though he sounds like his dad anytime he says it, Kurt still does, “Let’s head out.”
It’s not a long trip to NYU from their apartment but they do make a stop for flowers. Elliott’s pretty specific with his bouquets so they stay away from roses. They end up choosing an array of gerbera daisies—all bright colors: oranges, yellows, and reds. He’s going to love it.
Elliott’s been texting their group chat periodically, trying to ease the anxiety of opening night no doubt. Rachel lets him know when they’ve found their seats, front row reserved, and asks him how his nerves are.
They talk quietly among themselves until the lights in the theatre blink, signaling the show is about to start. Kurt checks his phone one last time, making sure it’s silenced, and decides to text Elliott separately. One more for good luck.
Kurt: break a leg, remember you’re amazing
Instantly, his phone goes off.
Elliott: I know.
Yeah, he’s definitely ready now.
Kurt’s captured by Elliott’s portrayal of Berardo. His tension with the actor playing Riff is clear and can be cut with a knife. (And kind of will be by the end). Then, Tony walks on stage completely stealing the spotlight. He can’t take his eyes off of him.
What Kurt would give to be standing on that stage with him. Not only is the actor beautiful (Kurt wishes he were even closer, the front row doesn’t do him justice), he’s incredibly talented. To play star-crossed lovers is difficult. You must convince the audience you are in love from first sight, you have to have this chemistry from the first moment until the curtains close.
Their Tony and María have him convinced. Kurt will have to ask Elliott if they’re dating. Of course, it’s possible to have that chemistry and not be a couple. He did that playing opposite Rachel at McKinley. Their friendship allowed for that chemistry to form naturally, even if Kurt would never be attracted to Rachel.
The whole production is fantastic. From sets to costumes to the acting and singing, everything is wonderfully done. In fact, Kurt’s a little jealous he hadn’t been a part of it. Plus, he would have been able to see the boy playing Tony sooner. Alas, he just had to go to NYADA instead of NYU.
There’s a second after it ends before all the actors come out on stage to receive applause and bow where Kurt is in a daze. The boy playing Tony has been moved off the stage already but Kurt’s brain is able to picture him perfectly. Though he’d die for the chance to memorize him up close, perhaps from across a dinner table. Sitting in the front row just wasn’t enough, not if there’s eyes to stare into, a body to reach out and touch, and oh lips to kiss.
They’re probably soft. He strikes Kurt as the type of person who always has chapstick in his pocket and prioritizes his hygiene. That and a skincare routine of at least 4 steps is always a good sign. He probably smells nice too. Like a mahogany and teakwood candle that’s just been lit or of coffee beans and cinnamon. Kurt wants to find out.
“Kurt!” Rachel is snapping her fingers in front of his face.
“Huh, what?”
“Backstage, Hummel,” Santana says, “stop daydreaming. The play wasn’t that boring, was it?”
“No, it wasn’t,” he says, grateful for the moment that Santana is clueless as to why he was ignoring them. “I thought it was incredible.”
“Me too! I really thought the actress portraying María could use some quality Rachel Berry pointers, if we see her backstage I might just…” Rachel starts walking toward the cast area and the noise of the audience drowns out the rest of her statement.
She has Elliott’s bouquet in hand and plenty of determination in her stride.
It doesn’t take long to find their friend, Elliott is waiting for them just outside the backstage area. He’s already changed out of his costume but still has his stage makeup on. It’s still hard to hear one another back here so Kurt waits until they’re closer to offer his congratulations.
“You were outstanding!” Kurt tells him.
“Thank you,” he says, still slighting out of breath. “I feel good.”
“You should,” Rachel replies, “Your Bernardo was just,” she makes some hand gestures when words fail her.
“Rare that loudmouth over here has nothing to say so you know you did something right when she shuts her trap,” Santana comments, “you done good, Starchild.”
“Thanks, Santana, means a lot.”
“Don’t forget our deal,” she reminds him.
“Wouldn’t dream of it.” Elliott smiles.
Rachel is peeking her head around the corner, no doubt trying to see if the student playing María is close by. Kurt almost wants to do the same but he’s hoping to spot the other lead.
“Um…what’s up with her?” Elliott asks.
Santana gives him a signature eye roll, “don’t worry about her, let’s go get some dinner, I’m starving.”
Dinner’s great. They had a reservation at a new Thai place down the block from Elliott’s apartment. It’s really been open for months now but they just hadn’t coordinated their schedules to plan a night out and according to Elliott, it’s one of those restaurants you need reservations for because it’s always packed.
Once their orders are taken, Kurt mostly forgets about the actor playing Tony until Elliott mentions there’s going to be a cast party after tomorrow night’s performance.
“Yeah, the guy playing Chino is roommates with the girl playing Anita,” he pauses at Rachel’s raised eyebrow. “They live in a co-ed suite on campus.”
She nods.
“Anyway, their roommates and their suitemates have agreed to host the party. Should be pretty good, usually when there’s a dorm party the whole hall opens their doors.”
“And the whole cast is going?” Rachel asks, “seems like a big celebration.”
“Oh yeah, it’s normal to all hang out after opening but Saturday worked better for people.”
“Well that's good to know,” she says, “since I hope to make my NYADA debut in the fall. I simply wasn’t fit for their spring one.”
“She auditioned but didn’t make the cut,” Santana adds.
Thankfully, their food arrives before the two of them start a fight. The conversation moves forward but Kurt’s head is still stuck on the cast party. If he wants a second chance to see Tony, he should go. The way to get invited to a cast party is to attend the play. Sounds like NYU’s West Side Story is a show worth seeing twice.

Great, now I’m mad at Glee again for the whole biphobia thing they pulled on Blaine specifically. Like? Could’ve just let the man be bi, it would’ve made absolutely no difference to his character other than the fact that he would be proving Kurt’s bigoted and prejudiced views incorrect instead of letting him go on thinking he was valid for his speech.

Katy my darling <3 I have a very fun ask for you!! What method of arts do each glee characters prefer and what is their favorite thing to create?
oooooo this is a fun ask!
I'm gonna do S2 New Directions for now, but may add S3-6 ND or other characters later 💛 (warning... this is LONG)
Artie: Film. 100% film. He loves using visual media to tell a story, he also really gets into the sound design side too when he learns it in College. He loves making music videos and after Uni that's mostly what he does. He also directs a lot of movie musicals and musical TV shows. Basically he loves making visual media for songs.
Blaine: Performing - mostly singing. He also love writing songs, which we never see in the show but I can imagine him learning about songwriting in NYU and loving it as a way to express his feelings. it's like a step up from using someone else's words to express them.
Brittany: Obviously dancing! I like to think that after marrying Santana she either goes to college for Dance, or maybe owns a dance studio/goes on tour with Mercedes a lot (with Santana as a guest singer) She really loves teaching little kids how to dance, she knows how to interact with them on their level and the kids love her.
Finn: Singing? I honestly can't think about what he likes. Like singing is the closest thing. He sings in the shower a lot and obviously he loves singing on stage. But he's not that much of an art person outside of that. He likes consuming it but not making it.
Kurt: Sewing, obviously, as well as sketching clothes. He loves making accessories for friends - scrunchies for the girls, bow ties for Blaine, a dog bandana for Sam's golden retriver (because you know he gets one) etc. - but he also loves designing and making costumes for small productions. Maybe he volunteers/works with a small theatre troop and makes & designs all of the costumes while also performing.
Mercedes: Mercedes likes making cards for everyone for Christmas and Birthdays. It started because she'd forgotten to buy a card for someone but had some card and pretty pens on hand and it spiralled from there. She now owns a fancy die pressing kit and lots of card toppers and pretty glitter pens and washi tape and all of that. She has a small kit she brings on all of her tours, it helps relax her after a show - making cards for the crew as a thank you/maybe selling some for charity because she makes so much? When she finally gets back together with Sam they both work together to make Christmas cards from them with cute pictures of themselves in terrible christmas jumpers and their golden retriver in a Kurt made bandana and later their kids in matching outfits.
Mike: Like Brittany he's a dancer first and formost. That's his art. He later goes on to be a professional on Dancing With The Stars where he reconnects with Matt on set (maybe they even get together in the end and the DWTS fans love their relationship and their jokingly competative instagram stories) He loves creating a story with only movement and music. Mike also really likes doodling.
Puck: Photography. I don't know why but I see Puck loving to take pictures of places he visits in his travels. He also scrapbooks but only Quinn knows that - he has a whole scrapbook of pictures of Beth that Shelby sends them and later makes them for all of his other kids too, and he has, like, travel journals and scrapbooks of roadtrips he's been on. Basically he's a Bullet Journal guy. He really likes washi tape and pretty papers and stickers and what-not. He will never admit this.
Quinn: Quinn's a writer. In my head she goes on to write a book that's losely based on her high-school years and it becomes a best seller and is later adapted into a Netflix series directed by Artie. I just like the idea! Maybe Rachel plays, like, the Miss Pillsbury character... or Terri! Or maybe Shelby? I dunno one of the adult characters.
Rachel: Obviously her art of choice is performing. It's singing and acting and standing on a stage or a set and making the words in her script her own. Also scrapbooking/moodboard making.
Santana: Santana likes knitting. She won't admit it but she likes knitting little plushies for Brittany, her favourite is a little bi flag coloured bunny. She makes knitted plushies and blankets for all of her friends when they have kids but she never tells them she made them - everyone knows though, they're too perfect for the couple/person (a cat in a scarf or a toy poodle in a bow tie for Klaine, a teddy adorned with gold stars for St. Berry etc. etc.)
Sam: This could be an essay for me (and kinda is opps). Sam is the Art nerd of the group and tries every type of art he possibly can. Macaroni art, illustration, digital art, traditional art, crafts, pumpkin carving, glass blowing, handlettering, graphic design, knitting, crochet, rag rugs, sewing, card making, pyrography, etc. He will try everything he can in terms of visual art. He doesn't, however, write because dyslexia, and he can't wrap him mind around, like editing and film stuff - he does try though because why not. He also really likes songwriting and music arranging.
All of this i'm trying to do as close to canon as i can but going off of canon let's say Sam goes to Parsons for illustration because he's so good at art, he stays with Mercedes in her brownstone and they never break up, after graduating he becomes a comic book illustrator (which i believe is literally a minor at Parsons, so let's say he does a Major in Fine Art/Illustration with a Minor in Comic illustration) and illustrates a run of Young Avengers comics and becomes a fan favourite artist.
In canon, however, he loves teaching the new generation of New Directions but he misses art because he doesn't have that much time anymore (because being the teacher of the new directions is a full time job, apparently, judging by the lack of adult friends or hobbies Will has lol) he loves loves loves arranging music, however, and that becomes the type of art he does the most. He does doodle a lot during faculty meeting (also he does a music teaching certification during his first few years of coaching the nNDs) and goes all out with pumpkin carving at Halloween, and loves decorating his apartment and the choir room at Christmas. He loves doing sets for the musical (and has a lot of fun staging it too) and helps out with the decorations for Prom.
Basically Sam loves to be creative in any way he can. He loves making things, whatever they may be.
Tina: Tina writes fanfiction and draws fanart. She's a nerd 100%, she watched Supernatural, she was a SuperWhoLockian, she loves Merlin, she's loves Twilight but more ironically than, say, Mercedes, and prefers books like Morganville Vampires or PC Cast's series that I've forgotten the name of. She loves the Hunger Games and Firefly and Star Trek and Star Wars. She definately has a tumblr. She mostly writes all sorts of fanfiction and is a huge name in the Supernatural fandom. Only Sam and Blaine know about all of this becuase they found one of her Star Wars fanfictions and in an authors note she said something that they recognised - idk she ranted about Santana or Rachel or something.
This was so much fun omg, thank you for the ask Myle 💛

Fic: Crush Into Me (12/?)
Summary:  Third year NYADA student, Kurt, returns to Lima for an internship coaching the Glee club. The leather jacket and eyebrow ring-clad senior, Blaine, thinks he’s cute.
slightly older teacher-ish!Kurt/ badboy!Blaine
One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten, Eleven
Day Twelve (Kurt) (word: Invisible):
It’s a Wednesday afternoon at the Lima Bean, Kurt and Mercedes are treating Blaine, Santana, and Brittany to hot chocolate in exchange for a brainstorming session for a sectionals theme. It’s been two weeks since Blaine joined the Glee club, and Kurt admits that he has been a more than welcome addition. Not only can he sing, he can play piano and arrange music. And he’s willing to go an extra mile when Kurt asks. But not like that - they’ve actually become friends. Despite the badboy facade, Blaine knows a lot about music and broadway, and he’s as much fun as any of Kurt’s NYADA friends for judge-texting reality tv together. More fun, actually.
“Unicorn,” Brittany says seriously. “Our theme should be unicorn. Blaine and Santana are gay. I’m bi. Unique is trans. Even our leader is gay,” she nods at Kurt. “My math brain tells me that is more than 10% of the population and we should celebrate all the colors of the rainbow.”
Thankfully Blaine is frowning in judgmental disapproval so Kurt doesn’t have to. “No Brittany. We are not competing at Sectionals with a theme of being gay.”
“Good brainstorming, Britt. I just think it’s a little too niche,” Kurt placates. “We need something more universal-” He starts when his phone buzzes.
It’s Kevin. What? Kevin? It’s been months.
Kevin: Hey Kurt. Hope you’re having a great semester back at home. Sorry about how we left things. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that I’ll be around your parts in a couple of weeks. I’m attending a Dalton Academy alumni dinner with Sebastian Smythe. I think you may have mentioned that you went to that school? So just in case you’re there, we’re kind of dating. Hope you’re well, Kurt. Maybe I’ll see you soon. xo
There is way too much information in that text for Kurt to absorb mid-brainstorming meeting and he’s sure his face goes white before he excuses himself. Sebastian Smythe? Yeah, Kurt knows him. They overlapped for Kurt’s semester at Dalton. He’s entitled and rich and Kurt’s grateful that even though they’re both in New York City now, the only place he has run into him is in a crowded club once on a Saturday night, busy enough that he could easily ignore him. And he does hope Kevin knows that he and Sebastian are indeed only kind of dating, because as far as Kurt has heard, that’s about the most Sebastian is capable of.
And Kevin is coming here? To his homeland, so to speak. To the alumni dinner he just rsvp’ed that he would go to. Kurt’s trying to figure out what he’s feeling - He hasn’t really thought about Kevin in weeks. He’s not jealous of Sebastian. And he’s certainly not jealous of Kevin - Sebastian is a creep. But he is feeling something unpleasant and irritated - no way he’s going to attend that dinner and watch Sebastian gloat about having his ex-boyfriend on his arm. He can just picture him commanding all the attention with his pretentious charm, making Kurt feel invisible. Kurt has too much pride for that scene. In the meantime, he’s in a brainstorming meeting and hiding in the bathroom reading his texts is unprofessional. He’ll have to put on his game face and deal with this later.
“Santana and Brittany had to go,” Blaine says as he sits back down. “Something about Britt’s parents being out and needing to take advantage.”
“I see,” Kurt nods and shakes his head. “Priorities. Well, at least now I can vent.” Whatever the reason, Kurt is not unhappy that he’s been left with his two friends. He’s sufficiently distracted to be not great at brainstorming competition ideas at the moment.
“Yeah, what happened to you? You look like you just saw a ghost,” Mercedes prods him.
“I sort of did,” Kurt huffs. “Kevin.”
“Kevin is here?” Mercedes looks around, confused.
“You’re not as far off as you might think. Kevin is going to be here. In two weeks. At the Dalton alumni dinner I just said yes to. On the arm of Sebastian Smythe.”
“No!” Mercedes is acceptably aghast.
“Yup.” Kurt shakes his head over and over again. He sees Blaine trying to say something then thinking better of it. What can he even say anyways? “And I have way too much pride to show up there alone. And given the prospects of quickly finding an acceptably cute date around Lima, Ohio, I guess I’m going to have to cancel.”

Hello and happy Sunday to you all. Thank you @confused-bi-queer, @cutestkilla, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe for the tags, and a tag back to @aroace-genderfluid-sheep.
My Klaine fic is still being written. Toffee the hamster has been found, but it's taking a while to finish it. An anon did give me a title idea, namely The Class Menagerie, and anon, I love you for it,
In other fic related news, I started posting Dancin' on that bamboo ceiling, the fic series that explores Asian identity and racism through Glee, while also trying to find a way to place glee's own racism towards its Asian characters. I was quite nervous to post it and a bit stressed. So stressed that I straight up confused Mike and Wes in one of my summaries and in the series' summary I accidentally wrote that Mike moved to China, not from China. Oops. It's been fixed. Five fics are posted and I am not at all surprised that the Klaine-centric one has the most hits, since people still prefer shippy fics over gen fics. I just hope these Klainers (hi!!) are encouraged to also read the others.
I am also nervous because I don't want to come off as if I am speaking for everyone yada yada. I did add the disclaimer that I am one sole person writing this and I am also alway open for more feedback, but it feels so nerve wracking. I usually write for me and me alone, but not this time, I guess. And even so, I am one Chinese person and damnit China is big. Catch me frantically googling whether people in Hubei speak Mandarin or something else etc. (Which I knew the answer to, cause my sister is from Hubei, but I'm just so nervous!!!) (This is also why I remember that Mike's family is from Hubei.)
Also some things in Glee are so fucking stupid. I am already thinking about changing something in Blaine's chapter so it lines up with canon, but I am still trying to explain why Tina's last name is Cohen-Chang.
Writing this fic is uhhhh A Lot, since I am delving deep into the racism that I have experienced and also the stories of other Asian people who I have spoken to about this. (JY, Todd, I haven't seen y'all in literal years, but you're in this fic.) (I do still talk to Cilla regularly.) (And a shout-out to my sister who constantly has to deal with people saying "she is too pretty to be Chinese"!). I am excited to explore this and I keep thinking about things I can add, but it is heavy, as you might expect. I do try to keep some humour and joy in it, because unlike Glee, I also want to show that being Asian can be fun and can lead to connection. I am looking forward to Mike, Tina, Wes, Blaine and Yu-Jin being friends! Here's a more upbeat part of the sad shit that I shared recently:
"Yes, yes, yes!" Yu-Jin cheers when Mike and Wes step inside the bedroom, both wearing a tangzhuang. "God, if only my grandparents could see me now," Wes says as he studies himself in the mirror. "Tina's making photo's," Blaine says. Tina's new phone has the best camera of them all and she'll send the photos to the others later. She definitely wants to save the mirror selfies that she made with Yu-Jin. Tina's hanbok has become to small and it's straining her in places, but she loves the way she looks and that's what matters.

Was Kurtcedes not replaced by Blaine coming along and taking up all Kurt’s time in season 2? As she didn’t like being the third wheel in The Substitute? I suppose they could have had Kurtcedes together in New York but I guess by then Kurt was Rachel’s side kick. And Mercedes is a lovely character, there wouldn’t be half as much drama going on in the loft in 4/5 as there was with Kurtcheltana.
Also regarding bi Blaine. Personally I don’t like the idea. Why? Well he’d have just been another Sam or Artie figure - dating all the girls in Glee club to provide various stories. Please not another Brittany boyfriend to piss off Santana. Maybe Blaine would have been nice with Tina, in 4/5, purely because he did love her platonically.
But I think it would have changed the Klaine relationships if Blaine had a history of previous girlfriends, maybe even previous boyfriends. The idea of them being each other’s first love, first time, first everything (and last!) and their love and devotion pretty much to no one else, just lifts their whole story. Maybe I’m just being old fashioned.
But I’m more drawn to the bi Sam idea, and the Blam option, if I had to choose a midgame for Blaine.
This has been sitting in my drafts for over a year now, lol...

Re: Mercedes -
No, I'd argue that since Kurt was becoming way more popular (I believe he was the most popular character from the show) the writers wanted to capitalize on that bumping him up to a lead character. And thus, it'd be better for the writers to make him share time with the actual main character Rachel.
This is why Season 3 Hummelberry was shoved so hard down our throats. Blaine was a part of Kurt's story, and while there are a lot of reasons as to why Blaine faded into the background more during season 3 (mainly Darren's schedule) by season 3, they wanted to make Hummelberry a feature, and not have Klaine (or Kurt's individual story) such a main thing.
Essentially - Kurt's individual arc stops at season 2, because he becomes an accessory in Rachel's story (really, the way Blaine was an accessory to his story in season 2.)
Mercedes and Kurtcedes becomes a relic of the original landscape of the show, unfortunately. They never wanted to Mercedes to a higher tier, hence why she became a B and later C-list character. (To which I lament.)
****
Meanwhile, Bi Blaine!
I remember there was a time when people worried that if Blaine was made bi that'd mean, for some strange reason, that it'd cheapen the Klaine "gay" experience or something weird. :P (I'm definitely not saying that's what you're insinuating - just thinking out loud.)
While I personally don't see the character as bi - I'm always up for more bisexual representation. And I agree there were was a myriad of ways they could have achieved that -- Artie would have been an interesting choice. Jesse St. James another.
I wouldn't have minded if Blaine had experiences before Kurt, either, tbh. And I assumed he had at least made out with people (both boys and girls) before Kurt. I personally don't feal that more or less experience with other people has any affect on one's current relationship. However - people are free to enjoy any aspects of the story how they choose to - and that's fine by me. :)

Hey! Sorry if this is inappropriate or weird, it's gonna be a long ask, feel free to ignore if u like, anyway, to the point... a friend of mine asked me to read a Kurtbastian fic (I'm a multishipper but always Klaine above all), I usually stick to Klaine fics but I've already read 1 Kurtbastian and liked it enough so I thought I give this one a chance... I'm already invested and I have this thing where I have to finish things even if they're not really my cup of tea, but this fic is just so toxic against Blaine and Klaine in general, I don't know how my friend managed to like it and still ship Klaine, (I still do, don't get me wrong) but even tho it's an interesting read, it takes some canon s5 things and twists them in a emotionally manipulative way and it even gives me headache, it's just so well written and logical that makes me doubt about Blaine, they are some things in canon that I never understood but ignored them, like the cheating of course, how he blamed Kurt for it and this fic claims that Blaine is jealous of him and doesn't think he's as talented as him or Rachel and is selfish, and judges everything he does, like his workout and eating habits, or only does good things for him when he wants something in return
Or saying he's agressive for lashing out to Finn and Sam, and that thing in the car in Scandals
And also that Kurt only slept with Blaine because he was afraid he would go with Sebastian, because they've been texting a lot, and they we're dancing all night, and honestly I never found a way to explain that myself, cause it does look like Seb made him a little horny and he wanted to blow some steam with Kurt
So they use plots like those to say he would eventually hit Kurt (the episode bash does not exist in this au) and that he was always manipulating him but mostly in s5...so I guess I could use some reassurance if you're up for it, I really like your metas and headcanons about Klaine, I know neither Kurt or Blaine are perfect but they're still some behaviors I never understood myself but ignored them and this fic gives them logical but toxic explanations (also in this fic Seb changed a lot and apologized to Kurt and is this very sweet guy who has a perfectly logical explanation as to way he was the way he was to Kurt in high school, so that's why he seems better than Blaine in comparison in this fic lol) (also this fic claims Blaine would cheat again if Sam was gay or bi, and he did cheat in this fic and they paint him as a compulsive liar who lies to everyone about his relationship, to Kurt, to Sam, to Burt)
So what's your opinion I guess lol, why is Blaine not like this fic says?, I know he's a ray of sunshine who loves Kurt and would never hurt him on purpose but I'm kinda forgetting why, I'm scared lol
(this isn't hate of any kind to Blaine, I don't believe any of this things but I guess I just need a reminder that all of this isn't true lol)
Hiding under a cut because you know I got a lot to say lol
Mm okay first of all Blaine antis will do anything they can to paint him in the absolute worst possible light. No room for nuance or reason, he's just evil and manipulative and abusive. I've seen plenty of Blaine discourse but only ever purposefully read (at least part of) one anti Blaine fic where Blaine literally stole Kurt's NYADA acceptance letter and forged a new rejection letter and put it back in his mailbox. Just so he could comfort Kurt after his "rejection", then for some reason talk him into going to NY anyway, and also apparently planned for them to grow apart solely so he could have an excuse to cheat and then get mad at Kurt for getting distant? And people in the comments were like "This makes everything make so much sense! This is totally something Blaine would do! This explains everything!" like I was literally in shock lmao. I could not believe my eyeballs
And with Sebastian, literally any good trait you give him is 100% fictional. Whatever boohoo poor little rich boy story is given to him in fic, I can only imagine. But there's no evidence of that in canon. All we get in canon is that it takes Karofsky trying to kill himself before Sebastian realizes he's been an asshole to everyone. And even that's being generous bc he literally only says "I've treated everything like a joke. ... It's all fun and games until it's not". So being a rude and racist piece of shit and literally putting someone in the hospital was all for shits and giggles I guess
The whole "jealous of each other" thing I think is an old standby argument to explain why Klaine are incompatible. Bc they'll always be competing in life. So obviously it's better that they find a partner that won't push them to be better or challenge them in any way, I suppose. Y'know, bc there's no way a relationship can have two strong personalities and talents in it :|
And yes, he does have some pent up anger that, like I said, can manifest itself in unhealthy ways. I see where he was coming from in 3x08 but he definitely went too far and struck a nerve with Sam. But Sam was the one that physically lashed out first. But honestly, even if the fight hadn't been broken up immediately, I don't think it would've lasted that long. Blaine only took up boxing in the first place as self defense. He'd rather go toe to toe with a punching bag than actively try and harm someone else. And he would never lash out at Kurt like that. None of their fights ever got close to physical. Except for, again, stage combat class with prop swords. That's not exactly on the same level
For 3x05... Kurt was already self conscious and worried about boring Blaine before Sebastian even came along. But Blaine reassured him that he was "the single most interesting kid in all of Ohio". Kurt didn't want Blaine to be unsatisfied, but Blaine assured Kurt that he was fine taking things slow, and that no matter what happened, the important thing was that they were both comfortable. It's obvious that during the week, Sebastian ends up getting under both their skins. I think they go to Scandals just to keep up with Sebastian but that's it. If Kurt's only reason for having sex with Blaine was to keep him on the hook, he would've forced himself to get physical with him in the car in the parking lot. But he didn't. He put his foot down and told Blaine this wasn't what he wanted. And Blaine didn't understand at first, but did once he sobered up. And he made sure to apologize, and reassured Kurt that Sebastian meant nothing to him (lots of words of affirmation this ep!) Kurt cracks a joke, they kiss, and Kurt makes up his mind on his own that this is the right time for them, and they go back to Blaine's place. No manipulation in sight
I've talked a lot about Blaine cheating before so here's a couple of more recent posts that have pretty much everything I still feel x - x
As for cheating on Sam... That really is only an anti Blaine fanfic problem bc it could not happen in canon bc canon!Sam is only straight. Sorry bout it :/ Even if he was bi in canon, the closest we ever saw Blam was in s4 when Klaine was broken up. They could've gone for it then and it wouldn't have mattered. But in the show, even when Blaine was at a low point, there was never anything to suggest he was looking to stray again. Early s4 was a special kind of low point for Blaine and he never got there again. Even with his troubles in s5, it's not like he was turning to Sam for comfort or reassurance. He confronted Elliott once in anger, but every other time we see him and Kurt sit down in the end and talk out their issues. The only way it would make sense for Blaine to seek out someone else is if some random fanfic writer said "I'm going to make Blaine seek out someone else" and then rewrote everything around it to make their story make more sense. Which, again, is twisting canon into something it's not
And the liar thing doesn't even make sense. Like I mention in the cheating post, he's literally one of the veryyy few people that does wrong and then immediately tries to make it right instead of hiding it as long as he can. He goes to NY to confess to Kurt right after. And he tells Sam exactly what happened, too. Like we literally see a flashback of Blaine feeling awful and regretting what he did, then Blaine tells Sam he felt awful and regretted what he did. Idk where the lie was supposed to be. Some people will come up with anything they can I guess
I think that covers everything! Hope it helped ♥️

Armageddon Revised - Episode Four
Welcome to the penultimate episode of my rewrite of the Armageddon miniseries. The time for the big showdown against Thawne has arrived, but there's another villain waiting in the wings.
When I started this, I thought I'd write something a lot shorter than five separate and very long posts. But I realized pretty quickly that there was so much I wanted to do differently that tackling this in a single weekend just... wasn't going to happen. I'm pretty pleased with how this all turned out, though; well worth all the time it took to write it all up.
In a way this is my farewell to keeping up with the show. Though I intend to keep writing fanfic and participating with fandom, I've hit my limit when it comes to the show's writing. There's been a noticeable drop in quality since the early seasons and at some point I have to stop hoping it'll improve and admit that it won't.
I do hope that those of you still finding enjoyment in the show continue to do so. There is still a lot to love about the show - though I think what I've come to love most about it is the other people in the fandom it's connected me to.
What Went Wrong - Episode Four
Continuing to push the Frost/Chillblaine and the Allegra/Chester romances was a big problem. Blaine is a poorly written character and while this show has repeatedly shown that a good actor can make up for bad writing... that's not the performance we're getting for this guy. Having Blaine go shirtless makes it worse. Dude really needs to keep his shirt on.
Then there's the Allegra/Chester pairing that the writers have been hinting at here and there, but the actors chemistry together is nonexistent. They're somewhat believable as friends, but their energy together is so awkward that trying to ship them is repellant, at least for me and I know I'm not alone feeling this way. Not every character needs to be in a romantic relationship in order to have interesting side plots. And if the writers really want Frost, Allegra, and/or Chester to have a romantic ship happening... this would be the time to finally have a main character on the show be openly queer.
Make Chester bi. Have Frost figure out she's pan. Allegra realizes that she's queer. The show really missed the mark by writing out having a canonically queer main cast member from the get go by removing Hartley from the original pilot script; keeping David Singh as a recurring character (David being Hartley's love interest in the comics) didn't really help. Especially as David's recurred less and less as the show marches on. This could have been a good episode to make it clear they were rectifying the lack of canonical queer representation on the show during the course of the latest season and... instead we get a lesbian character shilling for a straight couple with zero romantic chemistry and spouting some of the most aphobic bullshit I've heard in an Arrow-verse show ever. Alex should know better than to say any of that and if she'd been written by the Supergirl writing team then she would have.
Then there's Eobard's plan. Every scene with Eobard in it sizzles because Tom Cavanagh is a scene thief. He's a great actor with pretty much instant on screen chemistry with everyone - something he has in common with Carlos Valdes and Candice Patton. It's a great reminder of how much we lost by him leaving as a series regular. But unfortunately not even Tom can make Eobard's plan, as revealed in this episode, work.
So Eobard was trying to ruin Barry's reputation as the Flash. Wait, no, he was trying to swap fates with Barry so that now Eobard's the Flash and Barry's the Reverse Flash. Wait, no, he killed Barry as a baby, set himself up as the Flash, and Barry doesn't exist anymore (yet is somehow still the Reverse Flash until he fades from existence???). It's a mess, it's incoherent, it's... what the hell happened to Eobard the chess master from season one? Or season five? If someone finds him, please let me know.
Damien Darhk just happens to have the time stone that convinces him immediately that Barry's telling the truth about his daughter. Normally I'd let something like that slide, but atop all the other plot problems with the episode in general and the whole story arc as a whole... it's just another instance of what's started to feel like the writing staff themselves were phoning this whole thing in.
And because Barry's never actually interacted with Nora Darhk, they used a flashback from the Legends... but a flashback with Barry interacting with Nora after her marriage to Ray would have worked a lot better in context.
I also wonder how Barry's suit changed into the Reverse Flash suit too when he clearly arrived in the Flash suit. Much like with Damien's convenient magic trinket, I'd probably let this point go in an episode that wasn't already teaming with plot holes. While I love Barry being forced into a role he isn't meant for and trying to make the best of it, if Barry is still the 2021 version of himself then why isn't the suit that came with him still the 2021 version too?
It's also odd that Cecile can sense Barry feels he's telling the truth, but doesn't notice how weirdly smug Eobard is about all of this. There was room here for an interesting story about Team Flash falling apart around Eobard because he can't actually live up to being the Flash all while blaming Barry for his little fantasy falling apart. Because he can never quite seem to understand that the real problem isn't Barry, it's Eobard. (And yet somehow they went with the red string strangulation?)
Once again, if Barry causes Armageddon as the Reverse Flash then why did Despero think the Flash was responsible? I know I keep bringing this one up, but it just bugs me so much. He didn't know the identity beneath the cowl until Barry told him. Three whole episodes fall apart when fridge logic is applied, all because of this giant plot hole.
Then there's the ending. Eobard appears in the Time Vault, gives an excellent mini-speech, and appears to be telling Gideon she's going to help him. It's a great stinger... and it gets no pay off in the following episode. Knowing there's no actual payoff makes the scene flop on rewatch in a way it didn't the first time through.
Armageddon: Revised - Episode Four
On the roof deck of Jitters, Barry and Iris meet. She tells him about the first time she met the Flash there and asks what their first meeting was really like. So Barry tells her they were children and how much he'd adored her. She was always brave and knew what she wanted in life and he'd been awed by her convictions. It took him so much longer to find his own courage and calling in life. When she'd met him as the Flash on this rooftop for the first time, Barry'd promised Joe not to tell her the truth. Keeping that promise was, in retrospect, one of the biggest mistakes of Barry's life.
Iris asks about their daughter and Barry tells her about Nora. And about Bart. Their time traveling children... not even born yet in 2021 when Barry's from. But he knows they'd have at least Nora already by 2031, if not Bart too. By then Iris has heard more than enough. She hands Barry an audio transmitter and tells him that if he confronts Eobard - if he can get the man to brag about what he's done - she can use that to turn Team Flash against Eobard. And she tells Barry that he'd better do whatever it takes, no matter what, to fix what Eobard's broken. Barry tells her he'll need the PED to do that and Iris promises to retrieve it for him.
In 2021, Cecile and Top test run the device meant to let them take out Xotar. But Cecile is overwhelmed by the input from the device and struggles to make it work. Similar to the show, Top tells Cecile that if her emotions are turning into a liability then she needs to bury them. She does no one any good if she's being controlled by her emotions instead of her controlling them. Afterwards, though, Caitlin talks to Cecile about losing Ronnie and the two of them have a nice bonding moment, similar to the one seen on the show. Cecile finally admits to the toll her powers take on her as Iris joins them.
Allegra asks how Frost's search for Chillblaine went and Frost tells her that she gave up on the search after running into Lisa Snart, Captain Cold's sister. The two of them hit it off and now Frost's questioning her orientation and confused. She's afraid Caitlin won't approve of her feelings for Lisa any more than for Blaine, especially given Lisa's flirty history with Cisco. Allegra seems to take an instant dislike of Lisa and seems jealous. When she goes to talk it over with Chester, though, he's busy doing science with Ryan, which Allegra also reacts uncomfortably to.
In 2031, with Deon's help they retune the Still Force detector to locate the source of the Negative Still Force. Now all they need is the Time Stone, the PED, and to destroy the artificial Still Force. Then Barry should have a straight shot at fixing the timeline. The problem is, Barry realizes, that the speeds and distance required will lead to the world tearing itself apart if he fails. The consequences will already be noticeable within minutes of him starting. Meaning once Barry starts... there's no going back. And while Barry's connection to the speed force has been slowly regenerating since Jefferson's forced attack on him... he's still not fully recovered. And in this timeline, Eobard's faster.
In 2021, Cecile and Top track down Xotar and use their own empathic abilities to try to short circuit Xotar's telepathy. Xotar tries to lure Top over to her side and at first it seems to be working. But Cecile comes through with a burst of power, knocking out Xotar and all of Xotar's mind controlled minions. She thanks Top for distracting Xotar while lending Cecile the strength of her powers and Top blows it off, saying having Team Flash owe her a favor is a lot more useful in the long run than having Xotar's non-existent gratefulness. After Rosa leaves, however, Cecile notes there's a lot more going on under the surface than Rosa wants to admit.
Jefferson and Iris wind up talking about Joe, whom Jefferson wishes he could have had the chance to know. He hopes that when the timeline is restored that, perhaps, he'll have that chance. Iris gets a chance to really talk about her relationship with Joe and her grief over losing him, something she's been struggling to let herself experience because she feels like she has to be strong for everyone. But not even knowing that soon she won't even remember him being dead doesn't make that grief easier to bear. And without Barry there as her support, it's even harder. Jefferson tells Iris that she doesn't have to be strong for everyone. It's okay to let herself take those vulnerable moments for herself, to let her friends be the ones who give her strength. Not just Barry, but everyone she holds dear.
In the STAR Labs cortex, Kamilla asks Cisco if he thinks Eobard will fix the timeline and return soon. Very carefully, Cisco tells her that he's sure the Flash will come back to them soon. Cisco then mutters to himself that Barry had better hurry up. They're running out of time.
Back to 2031, Barry returns with a stolen Time Stone and hands it off to Damian. He then sends Deon to Iris, to let her know that Barry's about to confront Eobard, so she'd better be ready to transmit the audio to all of Team Flash.
At STAR Labs, Alex confronts Allegra about her lies in the previous episode and Allegra finally admits the truth. Frost's relationship with Lisa had caused Allegra to realize she had a crush on the other woman, but she'd also had feelings for Chester. They'd played a late, and perhaps a bit lusty, D&D campaign, one thing led to another, and the two of them slept together. But Allegra hadn't really known who she'd really wanted and when she woke up alone that morning, she'd panicked. Even though Chester left a note saying he'd be back soon, Allegra left... ruining her friendship with Chester. And when she realized that Frost was too interested in Lisa to notice her, Allegra ran away to London to escape a bad situation she'd created herself. She'd never meant to hurt Chester, but by the time she realized she'd messed up by running away from him... the damage was done. The truth is that at twenty-two she hadn't been ready for a committed relationship and it was easier to tell herself it wasn't her fault than to admit that she'd made a mess. Alex tells her its not to late to salvage her friendship with Chester, but she's going to have to be honest with him which she owes him - and herself - after all this time.
Outside STAR Labs, Barry taunts Eobard into a fight, only to be surprised when Despero joins in too. Seemingly on Eobard's side at first, it quickly becomes clear Despero intends to kill both speedsters. Either one of them could be responsible for destroying the world that evening and Despero doesn't care which it is. Iris pipes the transmitted audio over the STAR Labs speakers and Team Flash heads out to join the fight, clearing the way for Iris to get the PED to Deon. Of course... Team Flash doesn't know who they should be helping anymore, as Eobard's comments were suspicious and shady. Barry risks injury protecting Allegra from Despero's attack and Team Flash rallies around him.
Together with Team Flash (and assorted allies) Barry is able to disrupt Despero's connection to the Flames of Pytar and Despero's angry rant afterwards reveals the truth. He's an imposter playing at being one of the very people who deposed him, the true ruler and tyrant of Kalanor. And with Kalanor currently beyond his control... his true intentions are to conquer Earth so he might use the peoples of this world to retake his own. Can't conquer a planet that's been destroyed and as he has no way off Earth or fallback plan... after his little villainous breakdown, Despero leaves rather than allow himself to be captured. Alex notes that she'll need to put out the DEO's equivalent of an APB for Despero and recall Kara from her second honeymoon with Lena off planet, something Alex's sister in law won't be happy about.
Eobard rages at Barry for turning 'his team' against him and Barry admits that he was just the distraction for Eobard while Iris and Deon stole the PED and Damian destroyed the artificial Still Force - there'd be a cut here to Damian ripping apart the negative Still Force tech gleefully before Deon shows up to take both Damian and the PED he acquired from Iris back to Damian's apartment. Back with the extended Team Flash, Barry points out that Eobard's façade was never going to hold up because all Eobard cares about is himself. He doesn't see people as being real, they're just prizes to win. And his biggest mistake was treating Iris that way, because Iris has always been more important than Eobard would ever willingly acknowledge. Saying that without Iris West there would be no Flash wasn't just sophistry, it's the truth. Because without Iris West, there'd be no Speed Force. But Eobard's complete disrespect for the importance of the people around him means he's missed the obvious flaws in his plans.
Right as Eobard's about to attack Barry, Iris shoots him with the anti-velocity gun and tells Barry that if he's going to undo Eobard's plans it needs to be now, while Eobard's incapacitated. Barry nods and returns to Damian's apartment, swapping the Reverse Flash suit for the Flash suit he arrived in and donning the PED + Time Stone device Deon and Damian put together. It'll suck up all the negative Still Force in the timeline while Barry runs, but it'll keep glowing until Barry's got it all. So he can't stop - even though it'll mean over-shooting 2021 - until the glow is gone. By then Barry's connection to the Speed Force should be repaired entirely and Barry should be able to just run back into the Speed Force and go home. Barry nods his understanding and heads into the street outside before taking off.
Armageddon starts and Team Flash + Alex appear on the Central City Citizen video network to warn Central City that the Flash isn't who he seems to be and that all citizens should steer clear for their own safety. Eobard runs after Barry, but Barry's renewed connection to Iris is already strengthening his connection to the Speed Force. In the end, Eobard just isn't fast enough to stop him... but he does follow Barry into the Speed Force.
They eventually arrive in the past outside a hospital. It's storming outside and the hospital is shown to be located in a small town not far from Central City. Barry's forced to chase after Eobard to stop him from throwing a fit and harming anyone in the hospital. Their fight causes the electricity to flicker as two different families prepare to have babies. One family being quite familiar, as Nora Allen's contractions grow closer together and she squeezes Henry's hand. When the obstetrician arrives, however, he introduces himself as Dr. Gilmore. He leaves to go check on the nurse after Henry accuses the man of being drunk.
Barry's able to force Eobard back into the Speed Force where Eobard escapes. Frustrated, Barry returns to 2021 and everything seems relatively back to normal. However Barry quickly learns that while Cisco's back to having no powers and Joe, Ray, and Nora are alive and well again, Barry's still under FBI investigation. Also he apparently missed out on Cecile kicking Xotar's butt with Rosa's help, though they all remember him being there for that.
Iris fills in Barry on what they've found out in their investigation of the photographs the FBI think prove Barry to be a mole. The phone number spoofed by the anonymous caller had once belonged to one Dr. Gilmore. He had tried to get in touch with Barry while he was in college, which was why Iris recognized the number. Gilmore's associate had reached out to Joe and Iris for help contacting Barry while he was out of state. Barry remembers coming back over a long weekend to meet with Gilmore, but the man had passed away the night before and Barry never learned what the man intended to tell him.
On the other side of Central City, Eobard falls out of the Speed Force in the tattered remains of his Flash suit. The Speed Force was not pleased with Eobard and he's clearly in pain as he drags the cowl off his face. A shadow falls over him and Eobard looks up. He say's Barry's name, but the person standing over him just laughs.
"Not even remotely."
"Savitar?"
"What does a Hindu god have to do with anything? My name is Malcolm Thawne. And I've been looking for an opportunity like this for a while, Eobard."
Wrapping Up the Episode
I rather like the idea of Rosa subverting the expectation that she betrays Cecile; in the real third episode it was pretty obvious from the get go that Top would turn on them when the time came. The switch up would give us that villain and hero dynamic that the show writers were aiming for with Chillblaine and Frost, but with a villain who is more interesting than Chillblaine and who actually knows what shirts are for. (I hate Chillblaine's costume so much...) Rosa's also turning into such a complex character, it'd be a shame if we don't see her again for another season. And because the fight with Xotar still happened in the fixed timeline, Top's interactions with Team Flash haven't been erased here.
This revised episode brings us full circle on the events of the teaser from the first episode, filling in the gaps as to why Team Flash was denouncing the Flash in a live broadcast. It also gets us that fun revelation that Barry has to destroy the world to save it. But things don't just end there with Eobard, with the fight scene in the hospital meant to be a bit of a call back to event that set things in motion for Barry at the very start of the series: Eobard's fight with the Flash at the Allen family home that ended in Nora's death. Only this time they're fighting at the hospital where Barry was born, avoiding impacting history... for the most part, anyway.
And while I couldn't keep Jefferson and Barry's conversations, I was able to work in a similarly themed discussion between Jefferson and Iris. While it's a shame neither of them will remember it, perhaps thanks to Iris being a little unstuck in time, the advice will stick with her. She doesn't always have to be the strong one; it's okay for her to lean on her loved ones for support.
The FBI investigation still being in play opens up space to introduce another one of the Flash's enemies from the comics. Malcolm Thawne, Barry's long lost evil twin. I think it'd be fun to give Grant another chance to play both the hero and villain simultaneously. And Malcolm's powers as Cobalt Blue are pretty fascinating.
With the events of Armageddon basically wrapped up in this episode, that just leaves episode five as a sort of epilogue, closing out the last of the plot threads from the episodes up until this point and opening up Malcolm Thawne as a dangerous, recurring villain. Picking up the baton, as it were, from Eobard. Though maybe stealing the baton from Eobard might be a better turn of phrase.
This episode is basically it on the Allegra/Chester romance drama for now, though if I were to go on to do a full season from here I probably would have the drama Allegra describes about her feelings for Chester and Frost confusing her and leading to that ill-fated D&D campaign actually happen. But unlike the bad future, Chester does talk to her. And they both come to realize that sleeping together was a mistake - their friendship is more important. Maybe things are still awkward for a while, but their friendship comes out of it stronger than ever. Much as I don't like the Allegra/Chester romance, there aren't enough examples of people staying friends after a romantic entanglement ends, so using them to create a healthy example of that would be nice. Especially if it's not fraught with the will-they won't-they nonsense that Laurel and Oliver had over on the Arrow. Can we please show that exes can be friends without having to drown them in sexual tension?
In the larger season we'd also get more Lisa showing up as she returns to Central City, finally ready to face the city since her brother's death. She'd be there reforming the rogues and courting Frost and Lisa's first choice in new Rogues might even be the lovely Rosa Dillon. If Chillblaine ever did reappear, I think Lisa in particular would take offense to his knock-off Captain Cold style. I don't really specify a lot for her to do here, but she'd be taking part in the big fight against Despero alongside Frost and generally treating Caitlin as her sister-in-law.
I think the only thing I'm really unsure about is that future Allegra likely comes off as unsympathetic here. Not that she was particularly sympathetic in the actual future episode from the show. But in this version she was having feelings for two very different people, one of whom was causing her to question her sexuality, and Allegra handled it very poorly. That's kind of why I like the idea of similar circumstances happening in the full season, but showing that with some support and friendship that Allegra can pull herself together and both make up for her mistakes with Chester as well as learn a little self acceptance with regards to her feelings for Frost. And given Allegra's on screen chemistry with Frost is a lot more obvious than with Chester (admittedly, your mileage may vary), at least one of those two crushes isn't coming out of left field.

I have never heard of St. Hudson and babe, I need you to elaborate. Is this a crackship? What is it?
Imo its like. The greatest crackship. Finn and jesse are boyfriends in my minds, whether Ryan likes it or not.
They're my favorite I-love-this-ship-but-never-want-it-to-be-canon ship.
I came upon it when I was chatting with my friend about Jesse's Girl (gcv) and she mentioned the version from the glee project where Damien accidentally sang "I wish that I was Jesse's girl." And a lightbulb went off. Finn and Jesse should have been an item. They should have at the very least had a homierotic feud.
This is how I personally see it happening, but tbh theres a million and one ways I could see them getting together. Also in this hc, jesse is gay and finn is bi.
In 2x? Prom Queen, when they fight, before sue breaks them up, Finn leans in and starts making out with Jesse in front of everyone. And Jesse kisses back.
Think like, the brokeback mountain fight-that-turns-gay-thing.
Then when Finn realises what he's done and they pull apart and get kicked out if the dance while everyone else is in shock.
Rachel tries to say something to jesse on his way out, but he just keeps walking.
In the parking lot, they exchange a look, and its fucking go time. They makeout on Jesse's range rover and it's so much better than either could have ever imagined.
The next day, they both pretend the other is the one to have learned in and started the kiss (although quinn saw that it was Finn, and dumped him as a result, because she doesn't want people to think her bf might be gay.)
Jesse and Rachel are still together, because she still really likes him and doesnt care that he might not actually be interested.
However in secret, they're still hooking up, and its turning romantic. Their dynamic when they're alone gets more and more soft and domestic over time.
Neither of them is ready to tell anyone, but they both wish they could be, and finn kinda resents kurt and blaine for what they have going on.
I havent figured the rest out, but like, I'm happy with any situation in which these two assholes (affectionate) get to love eachother
They're the perfect cracjship imo. The sexual tension is immaculate. The pining is all there.

What do you think of people headcanoning Santana as bisexual? I’ve seen so much of it recently, even with Blaine too.
Oh. Oh no.
Okay so... how do I approach this delicately. Maybe delicately isn't the best word. Ah well no point in overthinking.
I think everyone can headcanon whatever they want but specifically in the case of Santana, I think that particular headcanon would not only go against explicit canon but also erase an important aspect of her narrative. Before anyone thinks this is some biphobic bs like they did on reddit let me make it very clear that it is not. I'm all for bi characters and I think there should have been a lot more on Glee. But Santana? Santana's a lesbian and that's an integral part of her character.
Santana's story is that of a lesbian who struggled with comphet for years and even when she realized her Sapphic leanings, she couldn't bear the thought of being othered because of it. So she doubles down on said comphet and fights so hard with herself to not be a lesbian. Being with boys was never about any sort of real connection to her and it made her miserable. Here's where it'd be great if I had written that comphet two-parter already and could refer to that lol. Now, do I think her being bi would take away from that? You know, I do. Because that'd be a different story. Not any lesser, to be 100% clear, but a different one.
I might also just be scarred by that one person who insisted Santana was bi and the lesbian agenda or whatever forced her to identify as gay. As if she wasn't a fictional character written to be a lesbian. Anyway that was wild and imo completely ignored her canon relationships with men and how awful all of them were. Like if there wasn't such a well layered and built story around her identity I'd be more inclined to go, sure view her as bi, but as is I think that'd be just as much of a 'going against canon' case as saying Brittany was actually a lesbian.
As for Blaine, I think I see more of a case to be made there but to be clear, I'm not nearly as invested in analyzing Blaine's story so I don't feel qualified enough to say how much of his core character that'd change. Again I'm all for bi rep and I think it was interesting in Blame It On The Alcohol that Blaine was open to exploring his sexuality. I don't know what the general fandom stance is on this. I think it'd still be changing what is explicitly canon, since in that episode Blaine does conclude that he really is gay. And idk, when it comes to canon queer characters it kind of becomes uncomfy to change that, you know? I cannot stress this enough but it isn't because being bi is any less queer, it's just changing their identity.
I'd be curious to hear more perspectives though and to hear what people say about Blaine because I hadn't seen that at all.
