Melli in the gear station family au is like that one lovingly overbearing family member who comes to see you at your job and tell you that you're doing a great job, except he needs an excuse to tell Akari & Rei their doing a great job so part of his getting lost is intentional and part of it is genuinely accidental (hc he has an absolutely terrible sense of direction and gets lost in a straight line, Zoro from one piece style) so when they find him and help him he's like "you two are SO GOOD at your jobs, the BEST employees here, honestly" and like half of the ten most recent gear station reviews are from Melli praising Akari and Rei.

Ingo and Emmet ask them if he needs to be banned from the subway and the younger twins are like "no, he's fine. Embarrassing but he means well and it's all good." (They have a hunch that Melli Knows Them which is why the kids are fine with hanging around him and helping him, but also all three of them are so at ease with each other that they had to ask just to Make Sure everything was fine even though they were Pretty Sure there was no issue)

does anyone else get bothered by like. voice actors not being properly credited. is this just me.

like, to start, there are games that are GOOD about crediting their voice actors (genshin impact, honkai: star rail - information on who voices what character is readily available in game for playable characters, and easy enough to find for npcs)

but even hsr, i was watching one of their trailers the other day where clearly like 5 or 6 different people speak in it, and only 2 were credited???

and there are some games that don't give you that information at all. for example, i've also been playing afk journey recently, and liking it a lot, but there is NO information anywhere on what voice actors were involved. at all.

and it's been especially egregious in mobile games recently where there's just. no way to tell if human voice actors even touched the project at all. and it unfortunately makes me wonder if ai voices have been used in some of the games. like. that's the only reason i can think of why they'd be so reluctant to give credit to the voice actors, is if there weren't any voice actors. 😭

#rey rambles #not gonna name names but there was a game i played recently (mobile game) #that i was super excited for after seeing ads for it #but once i actually played it it was like... #it felt like the writing and voices were all ai generated #like i've played poorly translated games before and i'm very patient with poor translations #but when smth is poorly translated it still...... makes sense? to some extent? #this game just kept going all over the place and nothing made sense at all #and the errors it was making weren't ones that i've seen before with poorly translated games #and the voices were weird too. a lot of times human voice actors will deviate from the script #or they'll fix minor translation errors just without thinking abt it #but the voices sounded super weird and they all were exactly on script all the time (even tho the script didn't make sense) #so yeah tldr i put that game down bc i heavily suspect it was mostly ai... #afkj i don't THINK is ai? and the ppl who made it made a game before with real human va's #so i'm like. hoping that's not the case. but it IS weird and concerning that their va's aren't credited for this game.

how to get out of a funk

clean up.

clean your room. HAVE A SHOWER/BATH. listen to music that makes you happy while doing so. put the same clothes you've been wearing for the past few days in the wash. (not trying to call you all out, as i said this was me yesterday) cleanse the energy with some crystals, smoking (respectfully and by abiding to the rules of natives), or even just opening up a window. take some deep breathes, cleanse your own energy.

organize.

what do you need to do? what have you missed? what has been stressing you out? make a list. make a very detailed list that goes into each and every step to completion, or make a minimalistic list that looks cute. whatever works for you. just get everything down and out of your head. don't worry about the list just yet.

fuel yourself.

fuel your body by having a comforting meal. !!!drink water!!! fuel your mind by watching something that makes you happy and/or inspired. fuel your soul by meditating, sitting outside, or talking to loved ones. whatever you do, do it with a focus on regaining your strength.

try tackle that to-do list.

you don't have to finish everything on it. just make a start. it'll make it easier for you the next time you look at that list. go slow, and go easy. remember that your productivity doesn't determine your worth. have breaks.

and most importantly, be kind to yourself.

you're human. of course your not going to have your life together all the time, maybe even ever. just remember that you are stronger then you think and that their are people who love and support you, no matter what your life looks like.
