- Laura being the angel she is worked extra hard to make sure Craig was in touch with his birth culture. Took him to a lot of events and tried to cook the food to the best of her ability.
- Out of all the families in South Park I think the Tucker family is the healthiest.
- Craig decided to not put a label on his sexuality. He just wants to go with the flow and see where life takes him.
- That being said it took a long time for him to accept he was attracted to guys. He had a lot of internalised homophobia because of the culture in South Park.

u can never have too many au ideas (aka the cursed-sun/moon au)
(im copy n pasting this from discord bc im lazy sorry y'all fsjhf)
other au idea: Sun is a ruler or lord in a fantasy world or smthn and Moon is the form he's been Cursed into turning into each night. Reader is a low-tier magic-weilder (who has a secret past that involves smthn rlly Bad and they used to have a reasonable amount of respectability in th community but now theyre shunned and cant get a job anywhere and also has a big scar and/or only one eye lol) who's one remaining ability is the ability to lift minor curses or plagues. Sun has been searching for someone who can 'bless' the curse of Moon (or whatever is making Moon be nasty murderous bloodthirsty man) for ages but mages r rare and most of them spend maybe one night trying to cure Moon before either getting got or being scared into getting tf outta there
so eventually word reaches Sun of a mage who's been looking for work, with the only catch being that they arent very powerful and no one has much to say abt them, and Sun, who has burnt every single thread he has trying to find a mage, is like GOOD ENOUGH CALL THEM HERE
and reader is like 'oh shit this is potentially a rlly good job, the only catch is that i have to deal w a demon possessed guy thats like twice my height and three times as strong,,' and like. bc they have Zero Options and also feel like their life has run itself into th ground and there is little left for them/no way to get themselves out of their Issues, they r like 'yeah sure its gonna take a while bc i can only perform minor magic but i'll do whatever i can to see that this curse is delt with'
and instead of trying to face Moon head on, they start with just kinda,, getting to know him. he's kept chained/locked away in a chamber every night to keep ppl safe, but every night reader goes into the chambers, sits at a tea table just out of his reach, and just. talks with him
they dont entertain his trying to mess w them, taunting, cruelty, etc, but they talk when there's the chance for standard conversation. at first it's hell bc Moon is a little shit and he never cooperates. he never answers questions, he spends the entire night threatening to tear them apart and savor their insides, etc. they bring him a cup of tea every night, and every time he smashes the cup and throws the pieces at them
ok well point is eventually Moon starts to mellow out around them, will actually sit and have conversation with them, one day is like 'you think i dont know what youre doing?? youre just trying to bore me into falling for ur trap so u can kill me. i like ur style but its not gonna work >:3'
and reader is like 'i literally do not have enough magic to kill a toad let alone a whole entire possessed person' and moon is like ',, huh. so what IS ur goal here??' and reader is like 'i want to lift ur curse for both u and Sun's sakes. i gave u my word, and i will follow through, at the very least to clear my own conscience of a past sin'
and so eventually Moon, out of curiosity, and later bc he likes spending time with reader, starts letting them cast the healing magic on him, breaking the curse little by little every night
and at the same time all this is happening, reader is spending mornings and evenings with Sun and keeping him up to date on how the process is going and, eventually, becoming the person he turns to when he's stressed or tired or rlly just wants company
and idk smthn smthn eventually both of them rlly want Reader and they dont know how to act so they just b making fools of themselves but reader is a dumbass so theyre just confused
(Moon absolutely tells Reader abt every 'oh man i rlly wanna kiss kiss snuggle smooch the mage rn' thought Sun has during the day but Reader is so used to Moon being a little shit n making shit up to mess with them that they r just like ._. )
the plot twist part,,
(the secret dark past that reader is hiding is that they used to be a local mage for a nearby town who was known and respected for giving 'blessings' to ppl for small fees but one day for Reasons, they cast a curse upon someone and one of the biggest no-no's a mage can do is Curse someone so the town practically rioted, tore them down from their pedestal, called upon another mage to strip reader of their magic, and then cast them out)
(rn im considering the idea that the person reader Cursed is Vanny, who, because of her own curse, eventually went on to be the one who cursed Sun and Moon)

Like this is totally gonna be a rant so forgive me but it’s driving up the WALLS. Ai art being readily available is killing the incentive for people to be creative. I cannot tell you how many times I think I’ve found a really cool fellow artist on tiktok and then see #midjourney. I take psychic damage every time that happens to me. And I’m starting to see it infiltrating business too where they generate ai images instead of hire photographers. I also saw someone selling tshirts with ai art on it at my local farmers market. MOTHERFUCKER THE FARMERS MARKET??? HAVE YOU NO SHAME????
NAW PREACH IT cause its become a nagging issue for me for a while that i simply try to not think about and dwell on but dear FUCKING god is it everywhere and it's painfully obvious too! just about every ad takes me 3 seconds to find damning evidence that its ai and im 99% ready to just delete facebook bc #1 i dont give a fuck abt anyone on there anymore and #2 Literally every other post is the most deplorable ai shit ive ever seen that everyone is carelessly oblivious to i mean total abominations that don't make any sense as an image but ppl share bc its the most bottom of the barrel ''relatable'' shit and that's just the sad reality of it is most people don't even give a shit what they're looking at as long as it looks pretty to their eyes for 3 seconds they don't give a damn

What is your job?
Uni student. Communication and media studies with a minor in musicology. Though I'm not taking any musicology classes rn and plan to change that to art-media-aesthetic education next semester
If you could go back to school, would you?
Depends. If it's the school I went to from grade 5-10? Hell no. Some of my experiences there were funny looking back but the place was kind of a hellhole. But the school I did my Abitur at? Sure, why not. It was very art and design oriented so the people there were pretty chill and I had some fun classes.
Can you parallel park?
I can't even drive lmao
A job you had that would surprise people?
Well the only job I ever really had was a minijob at a distribution center where I packed boxes for about three years. Which I'd say is a pretty basic job for a uni student so there's nothing really surprising on my resume yet
Though I guess some people might be surprised that I studied biology for a bit before switching to something more media related?
Do you think aliens are real?
That kind of depends on the definition of "aliens" here. Do I think there's life on other planets, however small it may be? Absolutely. I think it'd be more unrealistic to expect that there is not a single other planet with at least some microorganisms in the entire universe. Intelligent life though? Not sure. The universe is huge so I wouldn't count it out but if other intelligent life is out there, I don't think we'll ever find it.
Can you drive a manual car?
Again: I can't even drive haha
What’s your guilty pleasure?
I don't really have one. If I like something, I like it, nothing guilty about that. I think with the kinda hellhole school I went to, I learned pretty quickly that sometimes you just have to be yourself and the people who don't like that can just stay the hell away from you lol

None. I'd love to get some but I'm kinda afraid of that commitment (and also I don't have that kinda money lmao)

Black, purples, light blues & greens, pink and anything pastel, really

Ohhh if you've seen me talk about music on here before, you likely know that most of my playlists are pretty whiplash inducing lmao. I'm not really picky about genres so I kinda just listen to anything? If I vibe with it, it goes in the playlist so sometimes you end up jumping from metal to a ballad to dubstep lol. I guess my favorite genres would be kpop, metal & rock?
My favorite band ever is BMTH, my current #1 kpop group is Ateez and my favorite singers are DPR Ian and Crywolf and I actually think that sums up my taste in music pretty well haha

Used to love 'em as a kid but haven't really done one in ages. I did actually consider buying one just a couple of days ago but I promised myself to keep my spending that day below 20€ and I ended up buying a book about Caspar David Friedrich instead... maybe next time haha

Heights. And wasps, kind of, but I've gotten much better at dealing weith those. Heights though, I absolutely can not deal with. I guess a fear of falling is also a big part of that bc ladders are too much for me already but I'm fine on airplanes lol

Same anon as from before, first of all the tangets were wonderful and really nice to read so thank you <3 and second of all something i forgot to mention previously: TOMMY!!!! His whole "i don't think i want a girlfriend" was AMAZING and i really hope they come back to that at some point bc just,,,, watching them discover their identities and feelings just makes this so realistic and such an amazing read!! I'm going to go on a tangent now, sorry about that, but i think you do an amazing job of showing how complex aro relationships are and how much thought and consideration actually goes into them! I feel like sometimes aro relationships and/or QPRs are portrayed as,, sort of easy? Bc it's "friendship" or whatever? But like i've definitely spent time and thoughts on trying to figure out what i actually feel and what i want out of a relationship and even "what if this is actually romantic attraction" so it makes me feel so so so seen when those same themes are coming into play here! (No idea if you are planning on delving deeper into that but no matter what i'm really thankful for what we already got <3)

secondly, THANK YOU!! honestly i just try to write things that feel real to me. i do a TON of research for things i dont experience, but as an aroace person and someone in a lot of aroace spaces online, i just write what i know. i DO absolutely want to delve into it more, because the relationships are such a major part of drdi and all relationships are gonna be complex. especially the trio like... theyve all got trauma and shitty relationships in their past, and on top of that they're in what is becoming a very serious, committed relationship. theres gonna be lots of feelings and complexities and stuff. theyre also not all aroace which means theres varying feelings going into the relationship which certainly isnt BAD but it adds more! the trio's relationship is just very unique as QPRs often are!!! i am very excited to keep delving into all of that its gonna be so fun!!!

gonna go on a little mini tangent about nimona movie adaptation. it's gonna include lots of spoilers for the graphic novel so if you haven't read it yet (and you should!!) you can just scroll past spoiler free <3 anyways,
first off i am SO fucking pumped up about the nimona movie this is doing things to my middle school heart you have no idea <3 <3 <3 they're definitely branding it in the area of that kind of edgy but family friendly movie vibe that's been popular with certain projects lately (low key some parts of the trailer were giving me mitchells versus the machines while others were giving me the same energy as the bad guys, which is an interesting mix imo they're both good animated movies from the recent past but at the same time they're both tonally different in many ways not to mention very different tonally from the original nimona comic imo) and basically where i'm going with this is i hope they keep the original tone of the comic. the graphic novel does a really great job of shifting between lighthearted comedy and the complex emotions of the characters really well, especially with the twist at the end where we find out that nimona has been lying about her past the entire time (OGH that ending is SO GOOD it gives me chills just remembering the panel where we find out the story about the dragonslayer going after the shapeshifter and the rumors that the shapeshifter TOOK THE DRAGONSLAYERS PLACE??? AUGH those panels are burned into my mind forever). basically i am a little worried because of the marketing that they might soften the darkness associated with nimona's past/backstory or even change it entirely, but of course that's all speculation bc they could literally just be doing what the comic did which was market itself as really upbeat and silly modern fairytale twist and then turn around and make everything really fucking dark as the novel approaches the end of the second act and the beginning of the first act.
also when it comes to the character designs i am OBSESSED with blackheart and goldenloin the designs are SO!!!! not to mention the setting itself, they're definitely leaning into the futuristic aspect but i hope they keep a lot of the down to earth fantasy elements from the comic as well, i feel like nate did a really great job creating a world that is such a unique blend of ren fair fantasy tropes (for lack of a better term) and magical high tech inventions and it's something that i really hope doesn't get lost in the translation to the screen. obviously i can imagine that the show-y-ness of a cyberpunk-esque world is very visually appealing and also probably pretty fun to animate but i'm hoping they're teasing a lot of those dystopian sci fi visuals for the trailer because they get ppls attention and then they bring in a similar mix of the ren fair fantasy elements from the comic.
i hope they maintain nimona's whole gender vibe as the same sort of fluid energy that i got from her in the book, idk if it was just me but nimona reads as not only gnc but as a very nonbinary/genderfluid character and i always thought it was really cool how ready she was to shapeshift to different gender presentations in the comic.
this is more just on the curious musings side but i also wonder if they'll do the little bit where she dyes her hair purple?? its such a weird little moment in the comic i could see them deciding not to put it on screen but i think it'd be a cute nod to the book. or maybe they do a little bit of dialogue where she mentions to blackheart that she's thinking about changing her hair color and mentions purple, it'd just be cute i think <3
uhhh yeah i guess my biggest wonder about the movie rn is just how dark they're willing to take it, tonally? because the book gets DARK and ofc it's also aimed kinda at middle grade, just like the movie is, but what's allowed in middle grade books is very different from what's marketable in a middle grade family friend film. i really do hope they do the whole dark underbelly of the kingdom reveal, though, and the second act arc where nimona's true violent and chaotic nature starts to spiral out of ballister's control, and of course the unethical experimentation and the legend of the shapeshifter and nimona's entire story to ballister being a lie.....
AUGH i am going to get so emotional about this movie but yeah <3

Writing an Essay on Brooklyn 99 So Maybe I Can Stop Thinking About It Every Day:
i can't wait for like 20 years from now when we'll be able to have thoroughly researched academic articles about what the fuck happened with brooklyn 99 and its place in the culture bc even tho i haven't cared to rewatch a single episode since it ended i still think about the show at least once a day because of how fucking surreal that situation was. and ik we already have some (very good!) video essays about the copaganda aspect of it but i feel like we're not gonna be able to understand the full scope of what this sitcom means until decades from now
like it's just so bizarre when you think about it, bc while police and the broader "justice" system have always been viewed as inherently cruel and biased to target minorities and uphold the rich white cishet status quo by many people, this view wasn't quite as mainstream when the show started. the show being set at a police department likely carried none of this baggage to the people working on it when it was first pitched. the thought process was (likely) more like well, we already have sitcoms that take place at all these generic jobs, so "cop" is a natural continuation of that list, as well as well, police dramas have been huge for the past twenty years, so having a sitcom set at a police department allows us to spoof that and get some cool action sequences, and let's be real andy samberg needs something to do after snl. like not excusing the glorification of cops by any means, but imagine if you were the creator of "the office" and then around season 6 it became impossible to ignore that paper companies were inherently racist and killing people and there was a movement to defund them??? again, it's not a perfect analogy bc there are just inherent parts of being a cop that should have tipped people off that maybe this isn't the best for a goofy comedy, but i don't think this show was made with any malicious intent, it was just very bad luck
but the "goofy sitcom about cops comes out when cops are still seen (by the mainstream) as normal guys and stays on the air long enough to have an existential crisis in 2020" thing honestly isn't the only reason this show fascinates me. i think this aspect has been covered by other people a fair amount, and honestly it's not even unique to brooklyn 99 (there are still a TON of cop shows on the air rn, even cop comedies! none of them have reached the same heights as brooklyn 99 but yeah unfortunately the "defund the police" movement did not kill cop shows). the real reason brooklyn 99 has retained such a bizarre place in sitcom history, and why it even had this identity crisis to begin with, is in its tone.
if i had to guess the three things brooklyn 99 is most remembered for are:
being a copaganda sitcom that tried not to be and imploded on itself
the cold open bits that were such widespread memes that even if you've never watched the show you can probably quote at least two
the diversity of its characters
we're going to focus on number three. brooklyn 99 was a groundbreakingly diverse show from the very beginning. the number of people of color in its cast was beyond most sitcoms at the time, and captain holt being openly gay was a plot point from the pilot episode. however, i don't think the show really embraced its status as "the woke sitcom" until around season 2 or 3 (i don't remember exactly when the shift happened and i don't want to rewatch it to find out) in the earliest episodes, the tone is more focused on typical sitcom tropes combined with parodies of police drama tropes. this is also a very egregious era for people to look back on like "hm the behavior of these cops isn't entirely ethical even tho they're the supposed good guys," but again other people have covered this topic way better than i can
however, in seasons 3-5 brooklyn 99 started to take off in liberal circles because of its "progressive" politics. the show's female characters were badass and had actual personalities! the show had characters who were people of color and acknowledged racism existed! the show even started having episodes that acknowledged these issues, and its cast pushed for advocacy as well. as someone who was deep in the "brooklyn 99 is out unproblematic fave" culture of that era, i specifically remember rosa's coming out episode as a huge moment for queer representation, and i remember how much people applauded the episode where terry is racially profiled by another officer for shedding light on the issue. the characters on brooklyn 99 weren't just seen as "the good guys," they were seen as an ideal diverse friend group. the retort whenever someone pointed out the copaganda was to point out the depiction of other cops on the show being "the bad guys," and explain "brooklyn 99 isn't saying all cops are good, it's saying that our main characters are an example of what police should be like, and we can work together to make the system better!" i'll dissect this take more later, but for not this is just a snapshot of what the culture was like.
the main thing i remember from being on tumblr during the heyday of brooklyn 99 was this phrase being repeated over. and over. and over. again:
"this is proof that you can be funny without being offensive!"
sure, brooklyn 99 wasn't the only show to be given this tag line by its fan base, but i associate this take with brooklyn 99 more than any other show that was popular during that time. especially when it comes to the cold open bits, like "now number five", or "the full bullpen!" or "hot damn!" it would also be applied to bits about queerness like "bye rosa!" or "BONE???" which is understandable, since most sitcom audiences were used to queerness constantly being the butt of the joke and it was nice to just hear bisexuality used as a non-judgmental pun for once.
this was also during an era where "offensive comedy" was very heavily taken over by the right wing, especially trump supporters. in the minds of many, "offensive comedy" just meant a conservative saying slurs and getting butthurt when people stopped laughing. the right was offensive and grotesque, so the left would take the high road and be tolerant of everything. we don't want to offend people, but we still want comedy, so brooklyn 99 is a nice way to reassure ourselves that we can still laugh while being as inoffensive as possible. the ironic thing is i'm sure someone can find a reason to find any one of these brooklyn 99 cold opens offensive. i'm not going to make a callout post for every single potentially offensive thing in these bits bc that just feels like making up a guy to get mad at, but my point is "offensiveness" is subjective and not the deadly sin we thought it was.
(to detour slightly, this idea of "proof that you can be funny without being offensive" was so internalized in me that i ended up self-censoring my own works so much. it actually wasn't until i discovered scott thompson's comedy that i realized being "offensive" in the overt queerness of your work is actually so much more powerful than trying to look unproblematic. homophobes are gonna find you disgusting no matter what you do, so don't censor yourself to seem better than them because at best they won't care and at worst they'll see you as the death of comedy)
season five was the peak of brooklyn 99 imo. the show was diverse. the fandom was everywhere. the comedy was iconic. then it was cancelled. not the social-media-version of cancelled, that will come much later. fox, the network brooklyn 99 aired on, pulled the plug on the show after season five, leading to a massive uproar on twitter in defense of the show. major celebrities were tweeting about how they watched it every week, people were petitioning other networks to pick it up, and eventually someone did!! brooklyn 99 was brought back on nbc through season 8 and we all lived happily ever after
just kidding but can you imagine?
whenever brooklyn 99 pops into my brain these days, i keep coming back to the same theory, which is that the show would be remembered much more fondly if it was just cancelled after season five. i would've been sad, sure, but think about it. it's 2018. this show is still viewed as the pinnacle of positive representation by so many people. its fan base is vast and passionate, and it even ended on the classic wedding episode for the will-they/won't-they couple. yeah it's a shame to let all that momentum go to waste and not have a proper sendoff for everyone, but we move on and fans fill in the gaps themselves through their own creativity. a few years down the line, our nation finally experiences a reckoning with police brutality and the defund the police movement gains traction. this of course taints the legacy of our beloved cop sitcom, but we didn't know back then (even though we really should've), and since the show is done we can just enjoy it as escapism while also being firm in our beliefs irl. this system isn't perfect, but the question of how do we remember brooklyn 99? is a lot easier when brooklyn 99 is not currently airing
but brooklyn 99 was airing, and seasons 6-8 were a mess. even beyond the copaganda conversation, things just felt a bit off. the shorter seasons definitely didn't help, since they took away a fan favorite aspect of the show (the halloween heist episodes, which honestly are the only things i'm ever tempted to rewatch anymore) and gave us less and less time in the world of our characters. jake and amy had a kid, because that's what sitcom couples are supposed to do. we saw rosa's girlfriend. and rosa's girlfriend. and rosa's girlfriend. the show dealt with mass shootings, the #metoo movement, and other topical issues.
then the world shut down, and middle class white people finally had to reckon with the realities of police brutality since they couldn't look away. brooklyn 99 of course was swept up in this conversation, and since they were always known as the most progressive sitcom on television, they had to do something. but it was looking more and more like despite all their efforts "progressive cop show" was an oxymoron, and all they could do was try and minimize the damage while making a swift exit.
there have already been several essays on how brooklyn 99 handled its identity as a "cop show" in its final season, and this essay is already long enough so I won't get into the weeds even more here. some aspects were a good step towards important conversations (rosa quitting, jake's realization that everyone sees themselves as one of the good ones, etc.). some were... trying their best? but also vague enough that there was no substance beyond just saying "this is a thing" (amy's arc about submitting a proposal defunding some police programs? i don't even remember if that's what it was about since it was so vague). and others were just kind of baffling??? like. the show ends with jake quitting being a cop, which is good. and his decision is framed as entirely about wanting to spend more time with his son... but also the whole reason he got to spend more time with his son was because he got suspended for intimidating a suspect and being super unethical??? and that's never brought up again or cited as a reason for jake quitting. like, they already had rosa quit because she realized being a cop was just contributing to a corrupt system, and jake has just had the dark realization that no matter how golden-retriever-husband he is, he's still a corrupt cop??? but they fully ignore that and make the finale about family??? idk it just feels like they wrote the finale before everything went down and never bothered to rewrite it.
but the important thing is that brooklyn 99 finally ended, and rather than being met with the standing ovation of its almost-finale in season five, it was met with... still a moderate amount of applause, but mostly people looking away and awkwardly asking what to do with it now. in the years since, i have barely seen anything about brooklyn 99 on the internet. idk if it's just because of who i surround myself with, but to contrast, i still see things about the office, parks and rec, community, scrubs, 30 rock, etc. years after they ended. i didn't even like the office! and these shows certainly had problematic elements as well (even my favorites on this list, community and scrubs, have some jokes that really don't hold up), but even tho i couldn't scroll past 5 posts on tumblr in 2015 without seeing a fandom redraw of "and i know that if i run at terry he will catch me" "JAKE I'M HOLDING COFFEE!", brooklyn 99 has kind of... vanished?
the only times i'm forced to think about brooklyn 99 now (outside of this essay bouncing around my brain every 24 hours) are when i see a post where it is the butt of the joke or a piece of discourse that we all know the right side of. a netflix synopsis of the show prioritizes saying it's "full of memeable moments" but never uses the word "cop." that's obviously bad, but also, that's accurate to how we thought of the show back in 2015. the cop thing was easily ignorable by its fans. or, more potently, on a post about how cops shouldn't be allowed at pride, some clueless steven universe blog pipes up "what about captain holt?" and is treated to a barrage of "HE'S A FICTIONAL CHARACTER STOP BEING A BOOTLICKER." and maybe that's evidence of the more damning legacy of brooklyn 99, that for all its progressive storytelling, it's still a cop show. and even if you're a fan who knows most cops aren't like our main characters and they're just an example of how the system should be, that still makes you idolize the idea that there could be people like these characters who made you feel seen, and that they're working in the police force. that if you say "ACAB" you could make captain holt sad, because even though the show and fandom tried so hard to make the police identity secondary to their mission of diversity, the police identity has to come first in order for any real change to be made.
that's all i have for now. i'm sure i didn't explain things entirely perfectly and that there's major aspects to this conversation that i missed, but that's why i'm excited to read someone else's analysis in 20 years. i'm very curious to see what brooklyn 99's legacy will be like then.

monica monica monica, i just had a random thought about morkday and now i will be manifesting it to happen, or something like it, bc it would be So Good (at least i think so being an angst lover)
they have an argument of some sort and mork storms off. he doesnt show up to work the next day or two so day tries to go looking for him along the paths that they've walked together and he gets hurt some how, i don't know don't yell at me. night calls mork and he quite literally drops everything and straight up runs to the hospital and day instantly knows when he steps in the room bc he smells like the mechanic shop. enter: tearful apologies and "im okay"s and maybe hand holding that makes night realize just how much they care about each other?

IN A DEAD FAINT IN FRONT OF MY SCREEN AFTER EXPERIENCING THE EMOTIONAL EQUIVALENT OF BEING FLUNG DIRECTLY INTO A BRICK WALL AT TOP SPEED AND HAVING AN HIGH ENERGY PROTON BEAM FROM A PARTICLE ACCELERATOR PASSING DIRECTLY THROUGH MY BRAIN CASSI THIS IS SOOOOO [SCREAMING SHAKING CRYING CHEWING MY WAY THROUGH KEVLAR]
NO BECAUSE THE THING IS!!!!!!! i can actually see this happening so well!!!!!!! like okay do you know that quick moment in the trailer where night is right outside day's room while mork is drying day's hair and night has this look on his face that just screams 'something is going on there and i don't like it'???? and then there's that scene where mork tells day's mom "i know the boundaries of my responsibility" and day hears it AND THEN right after that there's day's mom hugging him????? imagine night suspecting something is going on between mork and day and eventually sharing this suspicion with their mother because he feels protective over his brother and by doing so he confirms what she was already afraid of (because mork and day aren't subtle AT ALL) and for whatever reason she isn't happy with them getting too close (maybe because she thinks mork isn't sincere and she doesn't want day to get hurt, or maybe it's because of class prejudice) so she talks to mork to make sure he knows his place and this ends up making all of mork's self doubts flare up and gnaw at him, which means that when day confronts him about what he said to her, he just.. agrees with her. tells day they're too different and that this is just a job for him anyway
so they fight, like you said. and it's a very ugly fight, where they both say things they don't really mean. as bad as it gets, though, day still expects mork to show up the next day because mork ALWAYS shows up: even when day was actively trying to chase him away at the beginning, mork still kept coming. but he doesn't, now, not even the following day, or the one after that. day tries to reach out but he gets no reply and at some point his mom tells him that it's better like this, that it was gonna happen sooner or later and that they're gonna find someone else to take care of day and that day is gonna forget about mork soon. and day is just so damn tired of people telling him what's best for him and treating him like he can no longer decide for himself, so he says you know what fuck this and goes to look for mork
but then he gets hurt and night calls mork because he can tell his brother is suffering without him and mork runs to the hospital at the speed of light and at that point you couldn't separate them even if you tried (no one actually tries to, thankfully, because even day's mom can tell they love each other at this point)

i randomly get into moods for stuff so like earlier i was going through my google drive with all my nonsense and looked back over my stuff for NAD and man i wish this plot would better reveal itself to me bc i love these characters. so much!!!
NAD rn is an acronym placeholder title for the actual wip itself (hopefully it’ll name itself… one day…) standing for the 3 povs that the story’s gonna switch through.
N is for Nyseah Nicoletti. she’s a trans femme nurse who is so. fucking. tired. she’s so damn tired. let her sleep. in her 30s and works the midnight shift most nights of the week and hardly takes time for herself, chain smokes to keep the edge off of how tired and irritable she always is. she wants better for herself but like ? how. getting the boob job was hard enough lmao. anyway tho, she’s given a respite from her misery one rare night off and she decides (for once) to go out. gets all dressed up, goes to a bar and WOW? a handsome man is actually?? flirting with her???? this doesn’t happen every day, what’s the occasion? they end up going back to a motel, fuck, and then nyseah wakes up alone. everything’s cool… until she opens her left eye. then SUDDEN PAIN!!! (i posted that excerpt here but she’s not having a god time). and well, come to find out she’s psychic now. but not in a good way. in a if you even think about using your powers blood is pouring from your eye type of way. ends up meeting some “escaped experiment” kids that she immediately adopts who are able to help her but her whole story is kinda. revenge for this dude who fucked her over like this bc it’s definitely one-night-stand dude’s fault (and this ain’t just a funny like. he literally caused this lol,,)
A is for Alona. a sweet, little air headed but doing her best! college student in her early 20s. she picks up a job at the largest and most famous (infamous probably) company in the city as a part time secretary and is living the good life, or is trying to! her coworkers are a bit standoffish at times but she’s pretty chill with the whole thing until one day for the first time she’s asked to stay on for the night shift. that night goes well, but she notices what looks to be a trail of blood coming from one of the back rooms she’s told not to go into and while she doesn’t that night the thought doesn’t leave her mind. she just can’t help but want to know more? somethings not right and well. she’s curious! (let’s just hope the cat phrase doesn’t come to fruition shall we).
finally, D is for PI Donte MacBride, the oldest of the bunch in his mid 40s. he really should retire from doing pi work but he has no other prospects or savings, so he just lives out his days in his little rickety shop/turned upstairs apartment (since he lost the last real place he had), shooing away those with hopes of him facing the cruel justice system on their behalf. he won’t, not anymore, he’s done with that circus. and he’s all but stopped taking on cases too until one day a very. very famous guest decides to drop by; an actor known only by his first name leonine. he comes by to request his services, claiming its only for closure as per don’s policy: find out who killed recently killed rising star, the singer roxanne davis, one of his dearest friends. and he makes don a monetary offer he can’t refuse—one that would set him for the rest of his life. so… despite the red flags about touching this case going off in his head, don finds himself taking on one last case.
as you can probably guess, these three stories intersect and the three of them are going to meet and realize they’re all on the same path to… whatever the fuck is going on here. but !! i have yet to figure out truly what it is aside from lil bits and pieces. fjfjfj i’m sorry this was so long haha.

OK initially when reading the first chapter of violets are blue I was like "omfg it's another mystery au" and "omfg it's another dread-wreaking au" and then obv I was like. well this could kinda be like. an au of btp. considering they're the same characters but ANYWAYS
so picture btp. now look at vab. btp quackity initially studied law and then wound up being an fbi agent Solving cases and losing faith in the values such a job should have. vab quackity probably also studied law, ended up applying those skills to become a police detective, and well. he's a much angrier person.
I'm not done tho. btp quackity has values, but he puts providing for his fiances and himself before quitting his important job and getting away from btp schlatt, a sexual abuser and his boss. and especially if u consider that he was basically completely isolated socially before meeting sapnap and Karl, you'd see that he became wary of the world. he already accepted things weren't ever going to be so easy from him. he was likely abused before he even met sapnap, but once he realized that there was no justice for schlatt, he just accepted the state of his life. but vab quackity as far as I know wasn't isolated socially. at least not in the same way bc he's sure as fuck never met the force to be reckoned with known as Wilbur soot. he never broke someone who was there for him all throughout his lonely youth's heart and then live on thinking he was being served the exact life he deserved. this quackity has still got the fight in him, and welll. it backfires, yeah. but fuck does he want respect. he wants to get things done. it's not easy at all in his job. he gets frustrated that he has all this energy he can put into his cases but nothing he can actually do to solve a case that he already practically knows the answer to. he needs a punching bag. but he's still here in the first place instead of being a fackin. idk. a teacher. whats up with u u little fuck? idk. it's interesting.
and then we have Wilbur. in btp he was an exceptional, well-recognized forensic scientist with a history of terrible relationships. he's very attractive, but as an orphaned child and a fucked first breakup, it doomed the way he would respect himself for all his future relationships, he harmed himself thru sexual acts. I'd find it very easy to believe vab Wilbur must have had a bad start in life too to get involved in what he has. I've seen the tags. he must have a lot of sexual trauma from within and outside of this job of his.

I wanted to ask if you're trying to put together what to write thru sleepy comma's tags and if you've changed any of them. also I imagine this au will be worse than btp. but therefore must i ask. will it receive a dead dove tag at any point, do u imagine? dear author? goodbye

Kind of obsessed with the idea of vab being a btp au, I'm not gonna lie that's kinda sick. Like if they'd never met, here's an entirely different path these bitches could have taken cuz admittedly they are kinda similar in quite a few ways....

So they’re probably going to try and change Stella’s mind about being with Clay before something serious happens (also, wahhhhhhhhhh bc spoilers bc again, I have the internet) because of how dangerous is job is. Then the youngest started puking this morning. It’s fun having multiple kids. Anyway. That tunnel scene had me for a minute even though I knew they didn’t die in it lol. That play by Mandy and Blackburn was genius!!! I’m glad the boys pulled through lol.

like I don't have a dream job really? obviously I want to have a career as a writer, but...I would rather not depend on it for my income, given how fickle the industry is even IF you manage to sell multiple books, which at this point in my career is no guarantee
so for a day job I'm doing admin work. after a decade of working in grocery stores, I'm happy just to have a full-time job that pays sort of halfway decently, actually has benefits, and doesn't leave me exhausted or keep me constantly working outside my scheduled hours. the millennial dream lolsob

1. steve prefers savory stuff while bucky looooves sweets so buckys always looking up these fancy recipes to try and make for steve who is always super touched but he CANNOT bake for shit without genuine hazard to their lives so he just buys bucky a bag of candy on his way home from work and buckys like 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 truly the man of the year i am so down bad how did i get so lucky (for reference at one point bucky literally works at a gourmet candy store but he’s impressed by like maynards lmao he’s such a simp)
2. i know everyone typecasts skinny steve as completely tone deaf but i’m special <33 so i have this hc that they go to a karaoke bar one night and theater kid bucky is so excited because he hasn’t performed in forever but hopefully he can still sing bc steve has kept teasing him about his “dulcet operatic tones” and he doesn’t even know why he feels the need to prove himself so competitively like sure they’re good friends but why would he care if steve thinks he has a good voice lol?? and sam is looking through the list and hes like “aye steve your gal is on here i’ll sign you up” and bucky’s like “huh? who?” and clints grinning like “oh YEAH hes very fond of dolores, is our steven.” and steve BLUSHES looking at bucky and they’re both kinda laughing and hes like “i showed you that in CONFIDENCE you shits” and bucky’s like thinking hes shy bc he can’t carry a tune so he’s like “awww c’mon dont heckle him i’ll duet with you steve so it’s not so bad” and they get up there and sam has put in a request for zombie and bucky starts casually singing and the first chorus comes and steve absolutely BELTS IT OUT LIKE DECIMATES THE CRANBERRIES AND BUCKY IS JUST THERE LIKE. STARING !!!! HE FORGETS TO EVEN SING LIKE HOLY FUCK WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO ME????? and then when they get together bucky thinks about it and he’s like wait oh. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh. OHHHH???? needless to say they leave the karaoke bar early that night lmfao
3. one of my favorite parts of this fic and what started it all is steve is from an area that has these extremely colorfully painted houses and his childhood home is in bRIGHT red and baby blue with white trim (because duh) and bucky thinks it’s the most garish, hilarious, extremely steve thing ever and he loves it 😩
4. once they start living together steve and bucky are both constantly covered in glitter like. glitter all the freaking time. because steve works a job as a character performer at a mythology museum 🤡
5. bucky offers to model for steve’s figure drawing class at one point and everyone is freaking out over him like HOLY SHIT WHO TF IS THIS GUY and they start calling him “the hot american” and all anyone can talk about is the Hot American™️ but they keep it super professional pretending like they don’t know each other and then the last day of the class bucky changes into his clothes while everyone’s packing up and steve’s ready to go so he’s just like “hey babe ready to bounce” and steve’s like “fuck yeah” and completely snogs him in front of everyone who are just there like o_0 and they run out to the street laughing so hard at their faces bucky has to carry steve onto the bus until he can find his inhaler
