Headcanons to all my baby danvers fics!
- Being an adopted alien, like Kara. Except your power allow you to control fire, vibrations, and shockwaves. Also flying and enhanced senses, strength and speed. Shapeshifting, but the downside to that is that it can be quite painful.
- Kara likes to roughhouse with you because she can. She likes that you can keep up with her. However, you guys have to do it outside. Eliza was furious the first time you did it because you both destroyed the living room.
- Growing up, Alex got insecure a lot because she had two superpowered younger sisters. But she got over it because you both are basically puppies. She would beat up anyone who messed with you guys.
- There was one time Alex found you staring at an electric can opener because you didn’t know how to use it. You almost gave up and were going to simply bite through the can when Alex showed you how to use it. After that, you went to her for help on everything.
- While you didn’t wear glasses like Kare because you didn’t have X-ray vision, you did wear discrete noise cancelling earbuds because your hearing would often got overwhelming. More so than Kara’s. But after a while, you got the hang of it and didn’t have to wear them anymore.
- Listening to your sisters heart beats. You don’t know why, but that is what often calmed you down.
-When your sisters left for national city, you were right behind them. You didn’t want to be without them and they didn’t want to be without you. You moved into Kara’s apartment because she wanted to have you close. Cuddles were an almost nightly thing before you both went to bed.
- Working at Catco with Kara as well. You had dabbled in photography as kid and Cat Grant hired you on the spot after looking at your portfolio. Which left you surprised.
- When Alex’s plan ended up going down, you saved it with Kara. The two of you ended up getting an ear full but the both of you agreed that it was something you wanted to continue.
- Originally, you were against telling Winn, but Kara gave you puppy eyes and you broke. You snorted when he thought she was a lesbian. Kara looked at you and you both simply walked over the edge of the roof. You felt bad for almost giving Winn a heart attack.
- You weren’t Kryptonian so your suit didn’t have the House of El symbol. Your suit was black with blue accents (much like alex’s suit.) Your cape was black on top but the underside was blue as well.
- Cat Grant named you Supernova. It was well known that you had no relation to the Kryptonians, but you were always partnered with Supergirl so Cat wanted you guys to have some kind of link to your names. It was fitting because you would set your hands on fire when you fought. Sprinkle in the small quakes and vibrations, it was a perfect name.
- When you found out Alex worked at the DEO, you were hurt. more so than Kara. You and Alex would always tell each other everything. But, after a while, you understood. She was working at a top secret organization. She couldn’t exactly tell you that.
- When Alex came out to you as a lesbian, you came out to her as one as well. The both of you sat in awkward silence for a monet before you started laughing. You pulled her into a hug then went off to tell Kara.
- Kara was confused at first but totally supportive.
- When you met Maggie, you smiled and thought she was good for your sister. She started calling Kara “Little Danvers” and you “Baby Danvers” Mush you yours and Kara’s dismay.
- You weren’t as invincible as Kara. While bullets didn’t hurt you, missiles and alien weapons could cause severe injuries.
- When you were hurt, it was full stop for your sisters. They dropped everything to make sure you got better. If it was really bad, they’d panic and J’onn would have to force them out of the room, even though he himself was worried.
- The Superfriends were also super protective of you. At the alien dive bar one night, you were at the counter waiting for the drinks when a guy came up to you and started flirting with you. He placed a hand on your thigh and you looked over at your friends silently panicking. You wanted to throw him across the bar but you knew you’d get into trouble.
- Alex slammed him against the bar with his arm pinned behind his back and James dragged him and threw him outside. Maggie threatened to have him arrested while Kara and Winn made sure you were alright.
- When you met Lena ( I love supercorp, but I love the B!DxLena ship a lot.) The whole world stopped. Massive gay panic ensued.
- Kara and Alex would tease you non stop about your crush on her.
-They invited her to game night and eventually you worked up the courage to ask her out. She was very shocked to say the least.
-After a long week, you and your sisters would have a sisters night. You would sprawl across their laps and Alex would run her hands through your hair. Kara using your stomach as a place to sit her potstickers on. You’d sigh contently and fall asleep to Wizard of Oz.

The Thrilling Continuation~
@kujo-supernova
As to not clog the dashes with increasingly long posts of anyone who has to put up with this, I started a new post~
[Original response here]
K, I agree with 95% of what you said, so I don't feel the need to go over it point by point. Even the stuff I don't agree with I’m not going to really address  because it's irrelevant to the argument I’m trying to make. This isn't even an argument about each other's opinions anymore so much as I'm just commenting on the fandom at large now. So basically everything I'm about to say is not really directed at you (except for the last part), and is more directed at this fictional straw man of the fandom that probably doesn't exist, but I'm gonna attack anyway because it helps illustrate my thought process.
But thanks for reading anyway if you do~
I don't take issue with the fandom because I'm trying to defend Kliff or say that anyone else is 100% in the wrong here. This is a story about flawed individuals that make bad decisions. It's multi-layered and complex, and that's why I love this game so much.
My issue is largely with how the fandom in general is hypocritical in the way they treat Kliff because they see him as *more* "wrong" than he actually is, but my goal is not to prove that he was in the “right”.
Yeah, B2J (mostly Mayday) did get to learn from the experience that they were wrong because they're the protagonists: the purpose of their story is to learn that lesson. Kliff exists to be Mayday's "shadow". He represents an extreme that Mayday could have become had she not realized that taking over NSR isn't the solution to her problem. But as the true antagonist, Kliff literally *can't* come to that same realization: it would be redundant. And that's fine. For the purposes of the story that it wanted to tell, Kliff getting a resolution was not necessary, even if it leaves him in a bad spot with the other characters.
But that story is done and now fandom gets to write new ones. He still has a lot of character that can be explored: Now that rock is back in the city, what will he do? Why is rock specifically so important to him? Why does he know so much about every artist in the city? Why does he look so much younger than he actually is? *cough*becausehe'savampire*cough*
But largely the fandom doesn't seem interested in exploring any of that and more than just a handful of people seem to outwardly reject the idea of writing him as even *capable* of the kind of growth that B2J went through.
I brought up DJSS specifically as a counterargument to Kliff because he is THE scummiest person in the cast for all the reasons you said and more, but he is still one of the most popular characters because he has a cool design and a sexy voice, and maybe some people see him as a "sad boi" and want to coddle him. I am also one of those people for all 3 1/2 of those reasons, but I don't believe that you need to think that a character is a good person to justify liking them. There's a lot of reasons to like a morally gray or even morally black character, and agreeing with their actions/opinions doesn't need to be one of them.
I just think it's hypocritical to excuse one character for their flaws and not another with similar ones. Like there's some nuance to it that can change what makes something okay in one context and not okay in another, but I think the comparison between DJSS and Kliff is apt.
In my opinion their shared flaw is being egocentric. They are both willing to sacrifice the health and happiness of others for their own agendas. They express it in different ways, but it all comes from the same place: They think that what they're trying to achieve is more important than the feelings/condition of others.
DJSS seriously does not give a damn about anyone other than himself and he doesn't even have the courtesy to try and hide it. Even after his district is restored, he's still the same asshole he always was. He STILL calls B2J "Plutonians" (and I don't count him saying that "they aren't so bad after all" as "change", because even as a professor he was capable of expressing backhanded gratitude) and his reason for playing music is STILL "self-importance". He is in the same place that he started and will probably continue to abuse his district over his sense of ego unless Tatiana or someone else finally forces him not to. And everyone either accepts that or disregards it because that's just who he is. And again, that's fine, but I find it hypocritical.
Like I feel like many people's problems with Kliff is that they're not interested in exploring his character beyond what has been presented in the text. And that's fine too. It is perfectly valid to enjoy the game as it is and not want to explore it beyond that, but if having such a small scope of a game's themes and characters causes you to get "bugged" when someone presents a different interpretation, then it might be beneficial to look at another reading.
For example, let's go back to the satellite argument. My point about the satellite being "symbolic" was to disprove "murderous intent". His motivations for dropping it are totally separate. You say that you still think his motivation is being fueled by bitterness over Tatiana leaving rock. Your exact words: "I still think part of it was done out of spiteness for Tatiana leaving rock", but I feel like that's a very surface level reading.
In my opinion, rock is just the window dressing to the core of his actual problem: he feels like he's not getting back what he gave. He drops the satellite after her response to this question: "Did my loyalty mean nothing to you?" Which was, "I don't give a damn about you. I owe you nothing." which I think is far from a trivial response.
In any relationship, even a non-romantic one like this, it hurts knowing that the other person isn't as invested in it as you are. Even more so if they were to flat out say, "I don't give a damn about you." Like, can you imagine being told by your favorite content creator that they hated you to your face after you've done everything you could do to support them as a fan? Would most people react calmly to that in the heat of the moment?
Like we don't know the extent that Kliff was involved in Tatiana's life, but Tatiana never implies that he's lying about supporting her after the Goolings disbanded. Their relationship couldn't have been completely parasocial because she immediately recognizes him and addresses him by name when she sees him, and her being Kul Fyra isn't common or easy to obtain knowledge, so he must have been close to her to even know that. We know what he may have been willing to do for her given how much he helps B2J, and had Tatiana been upfront about her feelings with Kliff in the past, then I don't think he would have even bothered to give his sob story because he would have known that she wouldn't be receptive to it.
What I'm getting at is that "abandoning rock" isn't the actual reason he felt hurt enough to want to retaliate. It was likely more about "abandoning him" than it is a loyalty to any particular genre.
Even with this reading of his motivation, I don't think he was justified in doing what he did. Tatiana was totally right in calling him out, even if she was harsh about it, because in the end it doesn't matter how much he might have done for her if she didn't want it to begin with. He should have just walked away and accepted that she wasn't the person he thought she was, but people don't always do the right or rational thing, especially if they're caught up in the heat of their emotions and I think that's a relatable emotion worthy of discussion and dissection, even if it's not positive.
Will reading any of that change your mind? Probably not, but it's another perspective, and that's really all I want to offer.
Saying you're okay with someone liking something that you don't, isn't the same as understanding it, and that's what I want to change. I don't need anyone to agree with me, I wouldn’t start these discussions with strangers if I did. My end goal is to get you to understand where I'm coming from, and I think you're just *barely* missing my point. Hopefully I’m understanding your points too, but maybe I’m wrong about you’re getting at as well. UoU

Power Sources of the Distant Future (Final Effect)
Given the colossal power requirements of the distant future, just how do the factions of the Remnant Galaxy produce the power they need for industry, travel, and defence?
Titan Reactors These colossal structures are essentially gigantic anti-matter reactors. Dwarfing even the largest such reactors built during the Age of Heroes, these massive power plants are capable of producing enough energy to fuel even the mightiest of starships. A single titan reactor is capable of producing more power than the entire planet of Remnant would have consumed during the Age of Heroes.
Rather than relying on a single titan reactor, dreadnoughts and other large vessels have been known to rely on as many as a dozen, all operating in concert. The sheer quantity of anti-matter consumed to run such devices at full power means that their operation only became possible when cheaper, more efficient ways of producing and containing anti-matter became available.
Nova Reactors Although titan reactors are ideal for sustained energy output, nova reactors are preferred when massive, surge-related output is required. In essence, a nova reactor is centred around a subspace dimension containing what is basically a star going through a supernova. When additional energy is required, access to the subspace is granted, allowing the tremendous outpouring of energy to be harnessed.
The nova reactor is most famous for being used to power the nova cannons mounted on dreadnoughts. These cannons have output comparable to a supernova and can devastate entire solar systems with ease. Nova reactors can also be used to temporarily increase the strength of shielding around a vessel.
Hyperspace Reactor Hyperspace refers to the multitude of dimensions that exist both above and below regular space. Travel through hyperspace is far quicker than travel through regular space with each additional layer allowing for a tenfold increase in speed relative to regular space.
However, hyperspace also contains a tremendous quantity of energy. This energy can be detected when ships move into and out of hyperspace, and it is the easiest means of tracking a ship’s progress through the galaxy. A hyperspace reactor operates by maintaining a constant connection to hyperspace, which allows the resulting flow of energy to be harvested for use.
Hyperspace reactors have become increasing popular for high-energy applications since they can produce even greater quantities of energy than titan reactors are higher levels of efficiency. The main disadvantage is that they require more advanced technology that requires more maintenance and that more energy a hyperspace reactor draws from hyperspace, the easier it is to track. As a result, even ships equipped with hyperspace reactors often have titan reactors to fall back on if they wish to go undetected.
Star Spheres In order to harness the immense power of a star, one method is to simply encase that star in a shell that allows for the complete harvesting of all the energy it releases. Such spheres are commonplace in forge systems, which are entire star systems dedicated to industrial manufacture.
The shells are typically constructed of countless smaller constructs that together collect and then transmit the star’s energy to collection stations. This technology also allows for the weaponisation of the stars since the constructs can also be manoeuvred to concentrate and focus the star’s energy output akin to how a magnifying glass can be used to concentrate sunlight.
Quasar Reactor Long thought to be an insane fever dream imagined by Her Imperial Majesty Vanille I, quasar reactors represent the pinnacle of the Empire’s technological might in the era marked by expansion into the Mass Effect Galaxy. In essence, they represent an ultra-advanced application of the Soul-Energy-Mass Equations to generate what is effectively a quasar in a self-contained subspace.
This subspace can then be used to harvest energy on an absolutely terrifying scale. If the output of a nova reactor is comparable to a supernova, then the output of a quasar reactor is equivalent to the output of the celestial phenomena for which it is named.
To put this into perspective, a single supernova might be able to outshine a galaxy for a few weeks. A quasar can outshine thousands of galaxies for millions of years. The quasar cannon, a weapon powered by a quasar reactor, is used not to destroy star systems but potentially entire galaxies.
A quasar cannon was first deployed in a war in which the Empire sustained immense casualties when a previously unknown faction laid siege to the Mass Effect Galaxy shortly after the onslaught of what was, until then, the largest known swarm of Grimm. This extra-galactic force attempted to invade the Mass Effect Galaxy. In order to repel the assault, the Empire suffered more than a trillion casualties and multiple worlds were completed devastated with all civilians and military personnel alike killed.
The Imperial counterattack would result in another war that came with two hundred billion Imperial casualties. The war came to a brutal end when the Empire deployed a battle station equipped with a quasar cannon. The final death toll for the enemy was more than one quadrillion with the quasar cannon being used to erase the enemy’s systems from existence.
What made this war so devastating was the enemy’s refusal to spare civilians, non-combatants, and military personnel who had surrendered. Under the Empire’s reciprocal code of conduct, the Empire retaliated in kind. Tens of thousands of star system were annihilated as the Empire shifted to a total war footing, unleashing its full military might and increasingly devastating super weapons. The last embers of resistance were crushed when the quasar cannon was unleashed.
Interesting enough, the Dia-Farron at the time advocated for a more permanent solution to the issue. When used to target the central blackhole of a galaxy, the quasar cannon could be used to simply blow an entire galaxy apart. However, the ruler at the time vetoed the recommendation.
The devastation of the war would forever colour Imperial military doctrine as it became clear that the Grimm were not the only major threat that might be encountered. They had to be prepared to deal with other advanced species that were unwilling to act peacefully or to consider negotiation. As such, they had to be ready and able to deploy overwhelming force to protect the Empire and its people.
As Vanille I once said:
"Some people are idiots. What we need is a gun so big that even the dumbest idiot can see that attacking us would be a bad idea. Moreover, we need to be willing to use that gun. I don’t know when it’ll happen, but I’m going to make sure my successors have the biggest damn gun in the universe. Assuming they’re anything like me, I know they’ll have the guts to use it too.”

all of supernova’s lore lol
! disclaimer i wrote this universe like. four years ago lol. !
also it’s split up into three time periods
part one
so basically to preface the concept of the entire au with some context (the details of which i remember the least out of anything): something something the fucking war happens. you know, the one with xerneas and yveltal? they find a compromise to stop tearing humanity apart and shit by choosing a prophet to fight every 200 years or so. whoever gets 5 or so wins in a row (i don’t remember the exact amount) wins the war. the two agree on this and go sleepy.
enter asteria, an aspiring pokémon professor in the region of miramare (a region that i made up out of my whole ass) (tl;dr it’s a small tourist-y island region in the waters between sinnoh and johto). she grows up in a small town on the western end of the island with her friend calypso. they both have big dreams of training pokémon — at least, until calypso’s dad dies in a pokemon-related accident and her mother forbids her from leaving their small town in fear that she’ll die the same way. asteria is saddened by this of course, but continues to pursue her goals
one night, asteria is instructed by her local Pokémon professor, the woman whom she had been taught under, to go out into the forest east of their town. she is told by the professor (prof. redwood, iirc) that that night would be the night that xerneas and yveltal would each choose their prophets, and that scientists were picking up traces of their energy in their own region. asteria understands and sets out for the forest that night. what she doesn’t know is that calypso ends up running away from her home that same night, determined to become a Pokémon trainer like her friends would soon become. do you see where this is going.
something something xerneas chooses asteria as their prophet, effectively trashing asteria’s dreams of becoming a professor, and yveltal chooses calypso as their prophet.
a few days after that night, when asteria has had enough time to process her thoughts, she realizes that oh shit she has to fucking do this because the weight of the world is literally in her hands. she goes back to her professor and chooses her starter Pokémon for the first time. she chooses cyndaquil :)
as she sets out on her journey for the first time, she discovers that, oh shit!, xerneas also blessed her with the ability to understand Pokémon. her cyndaquil ends up telling her that his name is Vincent. vincent is slow to warm up to asteria, but they eventually become friends :)
asteria’s next Pokémon that she catches is none other than sora, a kind little starly who is the actual greatest ever /lh. she and Vincent become friends quickly, forming a sort of brotp together as a powerful double team :) they enjoy training together and they (eventually) become really good friends.
the next Pokémon to join the party is none other than spark, a shinx (which you just saw how he dies. So,). he and sora become friends REMARKABLY fast, hitting it off immediately. spark, who is a little smartass and a bit of a competitive asshole, appeals to the competitive part of sora’s personality and they get along very well.
so sora and spark become really good friends and form a sort of... you know... rivalry :) asteria and Vincent are just standing by each other in the back like 🧍‍♀️🧍
the next Pokémon that asteria catches is a kirlia who was trapped under a fallen tree. she’s very shy at first, but eventually she introduces herself as Eleanor. she’s got A Backstory and tl;dr in her colony her mother raised her to be the leader, putting a lot of pressure on her to act proper and mature at all times. her father was much kinder to her and allowed her to have a lot more freedom, but he eventually died. Eleanor was like ‘ok fuck this’ and ran away.
tl;dr for that tl;dr eleanor had mommy issues
eleanor finds her place as both a healer and a fighter, and she gets along especially well with Vincent, who shares her calm nature.
then, of course, they encounter the very final member of their party: marti. and good lord.
marti is a young misdreavus who traps the team in their little spooky pocket dimension before asteria and the others find out what’s going on and confront them about it. it turns out that marti had lived alone in the forest for as long as they could remember, being a mischievous little bastard and playing around with everyone they saw. asteria enjoys their nature and invites them onto the team.
marti and eleanor become very good friends, with marti especially looking to learn healing magic from eleanor. everyone grows to love them tbh. literally no one could hate marti.
so to start off with how sora and spark’s dynamic develops, we’d have to start with when sora first evolves. spark becomes a little bit jealous with his competitive nature and all and starts training like hell to top her. when he eventually does evolve though, something switches in those two. they go from playful rivals to Rivals Rivals and become a little more bitter towards each other
eventually their bitterness towards each other becomes Serious and they go from rivals to borderline enemies. spark evolves into a luxray Much quicker than sora reaches her final stage, simply because he’s been so fucking. competitive with her. sora’s just fucking tired man she wants to Rest. she likes fighting w/ spark but she eventually gets VERY fed up and lashes out against him. the two fight and sora Finally evolves mid battle, knocking him the Fuck out.
after that, the two agree to be a little kinder to each other, agreeing that mayhaps their fighting got a little out of hand. they become playful rivals again :)
now for eleanor and marti because i love them
i think i originally had them have a kind of falling out like sora and spark had? but i don’t like that anymore actually so it’s getting scrapped 💖
eleanor and marti’s development is best summarized by them becoming closer with one another and marti learning how to heal ppl with their moves n shit. they are literally the fucking cutest help idk how else to summarize it
part one of supernova ends with the team settling down in a house :)
and that’s a wrap babey!!
part two
so remember calypso? yeah? well she’s coming back for part two lol
basically she ends up meeting a young banette with no name who literally fucking murdered their entire family. Lol. she takes them into her team as her first and ONLY Pokémon. fucking idiot
i did say that yveltal chose calypso as their prophet right. because that happened and basically ooOoOoOoO mind control yadda yadda and she’s told of her mission to kill asteria. she agrees because she has literally no choice. calypso ends up telling banette of her mission, who agrees to help her unconditionally because she’s the first person to actually show them love.
basically banette is literally a m//njumper type character who turns out to be a puppeteer-kind. Lol!
so here’s where the story gets a little more confusing lol
it’s easier if i preface this with a little knowledge on calypso’s character. so, uh, fun fact: she really likes knives! like, she really likes knives.
so yveltal blesses her with a special little knife that can mind control anyone it stabs. Wow! incredible
if i remember correctly there were three times that the knife was used prominently. the first time was when a wild Pokémon attacked calypso out of the blue and she had no other choice but to use the knife on it. from there she was able to control it for a bit before releasing it from her control and leaving it unconscious. she kinda goes :o and takes note of how it’s used
she later devises a plan to use it against asteria and co.!
banette sneaks into asteria’s house at night and sets up a sound barrier in the entrance so that no one can hear they’re there. using the power of Spooky Shit they lure the only awake Pokémon on asteria’s team out of their room. and, wouldn’t you believe it!, it’s spark!
banette lures spark in and traps him in a little shadow dome arena type area, where they fight for a bit until banette eventually bests him and stabs him RIGHT the fuck in the chest. bada bing bada bam spark is now under banette (and effectively also calypso)’s control. yay! /s
spark stays under calypso’s control, attempting to blend in with everyone else and, y’know, not appear possessed for several days as calypso bides her time. eventually, she has spark lure asteria and everyone else outside directly into a trap by calypso and banette, who attack them on first sight.
asteria and co are taken off guard and forced into battle, and now spark is against them! oh fucking no! sora is especially distraught by this lol
still though it’s 2 v 4, and marti eventually fires a shadow ball that breaks the knife. seeing that they can’t win, calypso and banette fled, leaving spark Un fucking conscious on the ground in front of asteria and everyone else
so spark is left behind, again, Un Fucking Conscious. asteria and the rest of the team are left to decide what the Fuck to do with him.
after healing themselves all up, they take spark back to their house and are left to just kinda. Wait for him to wake the fuck up? sora ends up visiting him the most frequently because she’s bored when he’s not around . And also she misses him. A lot. Because she Cares Him.
asteria’s like “well shit what now?” and everyone agrees like. “We just wait for spark to wake up because he’s like. Important?” and asteria just goes “yea agreed”
spark stays comatose for a solid six or so days until he FINALLY wakes the fuck up. when he’s questioned about what happened with calypso he explains that all he remembers is getting stabbed before blacking out. everyone just looks at each other like 👀  and they just kinda agree that it was good that they destroyed the knife.
uhhh something something asteria and co end up going to Actual Hell for their final battle with calypso :) and when I say hell I mean The Nether Minecraft. it’s got red stone and lava and yeah it’s literally just the nether fucking minecraft. they fight nearby this fortress built out of dark red stone and it’s literally just a nether fortress.
this time they can’t pussy out of the battle and they have to actually Fight Calypso to the Death so. :)
asteria’s team ends up getting their shit Rocked by banette because of the circumstances and the special Attributes of Hell allow them to mega evolve w/o a mega stone. so they end up getting Big Ass Claws that they use to absolutely FUCK over most everyone. eleanor and marti try their best to keep the rest of the team alive but they’re fucking dying too.
(also special thing abt this universe: in this universe, Pokémon have two health bars! one is the health bar that you see in game, the one that counts down to them passing out. after that health bar runs out, if the Pokémon wills it, they can Wake Up. then they gain a second health bar, which counts down until they Die. Like For Real.)
(this battle is to the death so they Die or they Live.)
in the center of this fortress they’re fighting in is a BIG ass void. like a pit that drops down into a void. asteria and calypso are fighting near this giant ass void, asteria with spark and sora by her side and calypso w/ banette. something something spark gets Severely fucking injured. Like a huge ass claw injury down his side. so does sora but ykyk.
asteria gets pushed and nearly falls down into the void. she’s hanging onto the ledge. just as calypso is about to push her off, she suddenly snaps back to reality in a moment of “oh shit what have i done” and attempts to save her. banette, to put it shortly, doesn’t like this. they have become obsessed with calypso’s original goal of killing asteria and nearly kills calypso getting her away from asteria.
banette, left with asteria alone, pushes her down into the void below, literally killing her. Like Literally Killing Her.
caught up in their victory, though, banette doesn’t see everyone else about to get their ass. tl;dr banette gets shoved down into the void as well and asteria’s team wins the battle, despite asteria being. Y’know. Dead
something something asteria ends up coming back to life through the power of xerneas going “wait she won. She should be alive.”
everything is good and the team is nice and happy and generally alive :)
haha......... unless?
part three
okay, so before we get into how asteria’s team ends up tying in with the crew in part 3. i’d like to preface this with some information on the characters of part 3 :)
alexis is the Pokémon trainer for everyone in part 3! she’s a bit like asteria, just w/o all the prophet stuff. she loves the outdoors and is generally very outgoing and adventurous. she has a huge heart and loves literally everyone. except people undeserving of love but yk
lance is a decidueye and was alexis’s starter pokemon! when we first meet him in the story he’s a dartrix but Eventually. eventually he becomes a decidueye. he’s a little quiet but he’s also very nice and especially enjoys reading a lot :). he’s quick to anger though. so. yes that’s important shhh.
hazel is a ribombee and is literally the sweetest person ever. she’s the healer of the team and is an absolute sweetheart. she’s the kind of person to give platonic kisses. she can be a bit cowardly at times though.
edith is a mimikyu! she’s generally very shy and quiet, but once you get to know her, she’s the absolute best. she would literally give her friends the world if she could. she’s also very skilled in battle and is probably the strongest of the whole team.
cheryl.... gets introduced later ;)
soooooo we all remember spark right? right? ahaha. Haha.
so basically this man goes to sleep one night and then the next morning wakes up in alola. this is obviously terrifying for. Numerous reasons. but the main one on top of him being completely lost is that he is no longer a luxray, but rather he’s been changed back into a luxio. he’s also lost all of his abilities. so not only is he completely lost, but he’s also powerless, too. he’s got damn terrified.
so he’s lost and confused, barely even knowing how he got there, half believing he was in a dream. and then, at last, to top it all off, some fucking dartrix comes flying at him and half scratches his face. and then he gets a fucking pokeball thrown at him. overall, he is not having a good time.
disoriented beyond belief, spark is brought to a pokecenter where he meets his new trainer and teammates. turns out that dartrix that attacked him was a chill dude named lance, and he also had two other teammates, hazel and edith.
(i actually don’t remember how alexis came to know spark’s real name? we’ll just say that edith can speak in alexis’s mind and translate aight)
they all introduce themselves properly, with edith being shyer than the rest. overall though, spark’s terrified and just wants to go back home lol. even at this point, he’s still convinced he’s in a dream of some kind. because, of course, at any time now he was going to wake back up at home. aaaaany time now. /s
the new team end up going through the day together, and spark goes to sleep that night still exhausted and confused.
when he wakes back up in the same place the next morning, he’s even more confused.
despite the circumstances, lance and spark end up becoming good friends. spark also gets along well with hazel, and he eventually is able to befriend edith, too. he’s hesitant to become loyal to alexis, though, because his loyalty still only lied with asteria.
and then he starts getting weird dreams about another island. one with beautiful gardens, tall mountains, and trees. he starts to recognize that something is there, but he’s not sure what.
someone else has a different revelation around this time. surprisingly enough, it’s lance! despite him and spark being friends, he starts finding some things about him to be a bit strange. like how he’s weirdly skilled in battle for being such a low level. and how he hardly responds to alexis. at first he shrugs it off, but then it becomes too strong to ignore. he starts to look for answers.
on their way across the region, lance ends up stopping at numerous libraries, looking for books that might contain the answers he’s looking for. for a while, he finds absolutely nothing, and as he searches, he considers giving up. he starts wondering if everything really is just a coincidence.
at the same time, spark starts getting even more vivid dreams about this place. he discovers that it’s a valley of some kind, one with lots of trees and greenery. it’s nice. one night, he gets the sudden revelation that there might be something there waiting for him. the thought resonates too much for him to leave it alone.
spark also begins to warm up to Alexis as he begins to realize that this could very well just be his life now. he doesn’t want to give up hope that he could go back, but he’s like 🤏 this close. That Fucking Close. the only reasons he’s hanging on are because a) he had literally spent years w/ asteria and b) he has no clue how he even ended up in alola in the first place.
insert the Pokémon moon plot as filler. anyways,
alexis and her team head over to ula’ula island as their next destination! and something that i remember very vividly from the plot was that y’know how you battle hau as soon as you get off the boat? yeah spark gets K fuckin O’d in that battle, but as soon as he’s unconscious, he gets the most vivid dream he’d had yet. he then realizes that ‘oh shit is that valley on this island?’
enter route 10!
meanwhile, lance stays behind to check out the library in town. lo and behold, he finds information on exactly what he was looking for and discovers a little known phenomenon known as the island scan effect, in which abnormal energy levels in an area can cause a Pokémon to have their entire consciousness move into a body that materializes somewhere in another region. the Pokémon’s former body on the other end of the island scan effect enters a coma until the Pokémon dies. or, if the Pokémon’s comatose body dies, then the Pokémon’s new body will become their true one. lance, reading up on this, realizes that it explains a little too much about spark.
the realization then dawns upon him that in order for him to have become so skilled in battle, for him to have taken so long to warm up to alexis, he must have originally belonged to a different trainer.
this causes lance to fall into a spiral of bitterness in which he no longer believes spark is deserving of a spot on the team, and especially not a spot in alexis’s heart.
MEANWHILE, spark walks the fuck into route 10, immediately recognizing it as the location from his dreams! he barely even takes a few steps past from where he made that realization before he’s ambushed just as he had when he’d first awoken in alola: talons to his face.
lo and behold, guess who the fuck it is. Guess. Guess. You definitely can’t guess. Not my fave OC at all. No sir nope not at all. Not predictable whatsoever.
it’s sora because of course she’s here :)
ma’am is in a very similar position to spark: she got bumped down an evolution, and had to live her life in a completely different region. however, when they meet each other, they recognize each other immediately. there’s just something innate about them that brings them to realize that the other was. There.
as soon as they realize that the other is There. In Front of Them. they both become super happy with the reunion :). alexis sees this and goes :)?? but is generally happy that spark has found someone he. Recognizes? she guesses. and, of course, sora joins the party :)
soon after, spark ends up Finally evolving back into a luxray. sora is a little jealous. Just a little.
pov i say meanwhile a hundred times to demonstrate how lance and spark’s stories end up branching off from each other. Anyways,
meanwhile, lance is Thinking about how what the fuck, where is spark even from?? sinnoh??? bitch. and how he just apparently met someone that he previously knew? and how she’s super skilled too? and how she hardly responds to alexis either? he realizes that basically, this is absolutely no coincidence and is absolutely the work of some weird natural phenomenon. his bitterness increases.
meanwhile spark and sora are very happy to see each other again, and they start talking about what the fuck just happened? Like lol they just suddenly got zoomed off to alola? fucking alola? aka completely foreign land and they just had to blend in like it was nothing. they bond over this weird experience and also start to question whether or not they’ll ever get back to asteria again. they decide that even if they never see her or the others again, they’ll still have each other. they’ll figure out a way, of course.
from this point forward it’s mostly just filler with the plot of moon UNTIL...... cheryl arrives :)
alexis trades to get cheryl, a young vulpix who is very sweet but naive. she ends up falling mostly under the wing of lance, who takes her as a kind of daughter figure, acting as her mentor. for a while, he forgets about spark’s whole situation and simply takes care of cheryl. he gets so caught up in helping her out that he stops being bitter for a bit :)
sora and spark enjoy her presence as well, sora especially, who find enjoyment in sharing with cheryl her best battle tactics and strategies. the two end up bonding a lot.
cheryl also ends up being one of the only people who edith warms up to quickly! edith actually ends up loving cheryl /p :) (edith also ends up loving hazel. no slash p we’re girl kissers here)
so as the plot moves forward, cheryl eventually evolves into a ninetales. she also learns the move sheer cold. you know. the one that only has a 30% accuracy but will always kill when it hits? yeah this is important :)
plot progresses yadda yadda and alexis becomes champion! yahoo! now what?
well, as it would turn out, sora and spark are not the only two who have made their way into alola. banette’s there too, but not physically. since ghost type Pokémon can’t truly die (they’re already dead), banette(‘s spirit) goes over to alola to fuck with sora and spark a bit. maybe to get them killed. who knows. they may or may not have manifested themself within lance’s mind and fucked with his bitterness towards spark a bit. Mayhaps.
now, you may be wondering, where’s the ultra specific plot device to propel the plot forward into the climax chapters? well, i’ve got just the thing for you!: a deadly hurricane is on course to hit alola, and as champion, alexis is expected to help deal with it. she doesn’t want to risk any of her Pokémon getting hurt though, of course, so she sends them all into The Box. Ahaha. Ha.
little does she know what terrors will occur in The Box.
so you know how each box will have a background, right? well inside The Box, each sectioned background is a different area. everyone is set down in an area that resembles a sort of maze. they split off, searching for the exit to the maze so that they can find an area to relax a little. spark and lance team up as well as hazel and edith, whereas cheryl and sora split off on their own.
spark and lance find the middle clearing of the maze. from the center clearing, there’s a little open end that stretches out into open sea. spark looks out over that open sea, admiring the water and how the artificial sun sets upon it. too bad he shouldn’t have turned his back to lance, though.
lance takes an arrow and shoots it clean through his throat, just as spark turns around to face him.
almost immediately, lance regrets doing this, of course. because, i mean, what the fuck? and then there comes the cherry on top. guess who discovers the center of the maze just in time to watch that arrow slice spark’s throat?
sora lol
it goes without saying but she is absolutely mortified. she runs over to spark as he collapses on the ground, only to find that he’s already dead and the blow was fatal. she is infuriated.
sora, absolutely blinded by terror and fury, flings herself at lance to get vengeance. she fights him for a good minute until lance leaves himself open for too long and she is able to slice open his own throat with her wing. he also dies pretty much immediately, the blood loss being a bit too much.
this traumatizes sora lol
soon enough, the others reach the center of the maze and sora is forced to explain what happened to them. hazel makes futile attempts to heal the two of them while edith is just fucking depressed, man.
cheryl runs away, sobbing inconsolably.
hazel urges sora to go after her and to try and explain what had happened. understanding, sora attempts to follow cheryl the best she could, taking tips from other Pokémon in The Box at times.
no longer having a host in lance, guess who banette proceeds to infect the mind of next. Guess. Guess. Guess. Guess who’s emotionally fragile and naive enough to fall under their order. Guess. /lh
sora eventually tracks cheryl into a box much farther from where the murder had taken place, discovering that she had gone into a snowy themed area. when she finally confronts cheryl about lance’s death, she refuses to listen. she absolutely can’t stand to hear any justification for a murder like that because lance would never kill anyone, right? she only ever knew him as the kind man who helped introduce her to the team. he would never have killed anyone. especially not one of his own teammates, right?
sora doesn’t know how to respond. she tries again to explain, but before she can speak again, cheryl lashes out at her, suddenly overcome by a foreign power. completely mad with grief, cheryl attacks sora with everything she has in her. every attack, every tactic: everything. sora can’t find it in herself to fight back. all she tries to do is defend herself, but it’s difficult. eventually she slips out of consciousness, and then back into consciousness. as soon as she recovers though, cheryl sends her her final move: sheer cold. it’s dead accurate, and as soon as it strikes sora, the biting cold freezes her to death.
and then she wakes up in her bed back at asteria’s house, surrounded by all of her former teammates.
including spark. Who is alive.
she cries and hugs him. obviously both are deeply traumatized now, and the situation back in alola isn’t getting solved any time soon, but for now they have each other.
also marti x eleanor is canon because i said so.

One Piece Chapter 984 - Initial Thoughts
Tumblr media
Okay this is a lot to take in I understand what’s going on and yet still I am confused...well, probably not confused in that way
but One Piece chapter 984 is in the books and we’re gonna run it down
Spoilers for c984 of course, support the official release
Starting with the Cover Story, appropriate reaction XD though I am glad that Pound didn’t get amnesia the moment he reunited with his family
Dogmouth...that is all
I don’t mind Page One and Ulti getting up, Ancient Zoans have always been classed as ultra resilient and to even be close to breaking Page One’s jaw with a regular Elephant Gun shows how strong Luffy is
Also I continue to love Ulti, she headbutted the damn medics! Also the Thunder Sigua line was neat
I found it odd though that Luffy would attack Yamato, he sensed that they weren’t gonna harm them, he could just run the other way, this felt a tad off especially since Luffy needs to be preserving his strength
“Of our fights together” - I knew exactly who this was, but we’ll get to that later
That last hit though looked like the Advanced Armament Haki didn’t it? Like I feel like Oda has intentionally hidden it for that reason, like he did Gear Third in Enies Lobby
Odd that not even Kaido’s men buy Orochi’s story, given how exposed they’ve been to the fact that their boss turns into a literal dragon
But in the crowd is Jimbei and Robin, accounted for but no mention of who was hiding in the bushes. Robin in full character there but Jimbei feeling a little awkward - though if the goons aren’t perceptive enough to recognize the Sun Pirates tattoo then he’s bound to be golden
I’m also down with Robin (and others) calling Jimbei ‘Boss’ in tense situations, plus Robin does tend to do this with people she’s not too familiar with (remember her nicknames for the Straw Hats in the early days? Law does the same)
We also see Hyou though, the Skull Dome has been infiltrated at least, but all that’s left is the strike
Law has completed his Shambles into the back line as well, bringing Orca, Bepo and Penguin with him too. It’s decent, I would like to know more about all the other Supernova crews as well, and what happened to that ex pirate captain Law saved in Sabaody, wouldn’t he have been helpful here?
Inu seeing snow feels like it can come into play later
Looks like Marco had a similar plan by flying overhead...something deep in me wants to feel like this idea came from him remembering Marineford when Luffy and Co fell from above
Marco’s reunion is cut short though since he’s dipping to check something in the sea, Marco vs Perospero?
Also Neko has fixed a gun onto his chopped hand, can’t say he was not prepared
But I’ve delayed this enough, the Kiku/Izo reunion is the stuff you love to see, I mean it’s been 25ish years for them two. Izo working a new scar over the brow too, and somehow got the ‘we’re wearing Black Gloves to this raid’ memo XD
Even with the Samurai’s infiltration though, rescuing Momo looks very dire with Kaido and his Lead Performers and UltraForehead right next to Momo. Big Mom as well is on her way with the ladies and Zeus being pursued by her as well
Kaido’s planning to spice things up with a new initiative, which is worrisome, he knows that the raid is still ongoing now, Kanjuro and Apoo are noticeably missing, same with Who’s Who, Black Maria and Drake (and maybe Hawkins). Sasaki won’t be chained forever, Ulti and Pay Pay are still gonna pursue Luffy and Yamato and there’s still the matter of whatever other new tech Kaido has up his sleeve...the vast numbers do not work well in our favour
So the Yamato story...Wanting to ‘be Kozuki Oden’ is a bit...odd? Carrying on their will is one thing but actually trying to BE them, even if you were inspired by their death
Luffy being deadpan with the shaking though XD
Finally Oden’s journal comes back around though, knew it’d be important. Kaido and Orochi don’t know about it too which is a key bit of information, they’d definitely want it (like Krieg wanted Zeff’s) for info on Laugh Tale
But then there’s that reveal, Yamato was born female, choosing to be a man to emulate Oden. And they’re pretty hot...it actually looks like they have normal proportions XD thus part of my aforementioned ‘confusion’. Also WHO IS YOUR MOTHER - because you definitely didn’t get your dad’s features
Also conflict though, Kaido seems okay with Yamato identifying as male but still beats his children for wanting to be like Oden, the one man who could cut him
And that final kicker, the fights before relating to Luffy could only mean one person. Yamato and Ace knew each other.
So, that was a lot to take in. I was impressed by the Yamato reveal but this just begets more questions, plus I’m not so sold on them wanting to basically take Oden’s place directly, one can inherit will and be their own person. But a new ally is always good, wonder how they’d feel about killing Kaido though.
It’s times like these I’m also extra let down that Tashigi isn’t here. She really could’ve used the presence of strong female warriors to boost her own confidence, plus she’s a sword geek why the fuck isn’t she in Meito Country fangirling over Enma (and the swordsman Enma is attached to)!?
Our raid forces are not looking so hot either, our flank has hit a rough bump with Kaido’s strongest forces being concentrated with our footsoldiers, another Yonko about to crash in and blow everyone else’s cover, Momo is still on the wall, still many characters unaccounted for (Brook and Franky where are you?), Marco has been drawn away from the island and our strongest players have been kept away from the main dome.
The Ace connection comes back around too, like Tama at the beginning. I miss Tama I hope she’s alright, the Ace stuff will definitely get Luffy to listen
It’s still got all the tension, and we have another break between chapters D: this time for a Color Spread but still, waiting is hard!

Touching Up Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
So... Not really much in regards to gameplay, but while Melody of Memory has been mostly positively received, the general consensus seems to be that they could’ve “left it in the oven” for a bit longer and it PROBABLY would’ve done the game a favor. Having watched multiple LP’s, and having put the game on my wishlist, I know that there are a couple of missing songs.
Regardless, I’ll be dividing this up into different sections, based off of how the World Map was arranged.
In General
Upon making a new game, after the brief “Simple and Clean” Memory Dive sample, a cutscene would play, where we see Kairi and the researchers discussing the whole “put Kairi into a coma so she can explore memories related to Sora” plan. Outside of that, the opening of the game would play like normal.
Also, the Gummi Ship in World Tour MIGHT get replaced with a gliding KH3!Kairi to further visualize that she’s the one sifting through all these memories.
Finally, “Boss Battles” would all have a gauge similar to the one from “Ursula’s Revenge”, which depletes with every note you hit, dealing more damage the higher your strength and the better your timing. Depleting it before the song ends would results in a Rhythm Point bonus.
Additionally, much like the Boss Battle music stages from the REAL game, you’d get a Field Battle version of any Boss Battles upon beating the bosses.
Also, in regards to Team Days: Roxas would wield Two Become One while Xion would wield Oathkeeper.
Kingdom Hearts I Worlds
All I’d add here are three Music Stages divided up between two worlds.
Halfway through KH1′s Disney Worlds would be the Hundred Acre Wood, with two Memory Dives: “Winnie the Pooh” and “Bounce-o-Rama”.
Right next to Hollow Bastion, the End of the World, and the “Squirming Evil” Darkened World would be a Darkened World would be a Darkened World corresponding to “Night on the Bare Mountain” titled “Melody of the Mountain”.
Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories Worlds
Another instance of Destiny Islands would appear in the COM worlds, with only one Music Stage: the re:COM version of Destiny Islands’ Overworld Theme.
Additionally, “Lord of the Castle” would be a Boss Battle Music Stage. Marluxia’s “super move” would be his “Scythe Wheel” attack.
Kingdom Hearts II Worlds
... I mean, MAYBE Port Royale would be here? I can’t really think of anything else...
Kingdom Hearts: 358 Days Over 2 Worlds
Once again, only two changes: A new world, and a boss battle.
The new world would, in this case, be the World That Never Was itself, with it’s two tracks from Days: “Mystic Moon” and “Critical Drive”. Also, in regards to aesthetics, it would be the KH2 version of the World That Never Was, but in reverse to reference Roxas’ escape from the castle. It would be located before “Vector to the Heavens”.
Finally “Another Side (Battle Version)” would be a Boss Battle Music Stage. Riku’s “Special Attack” would be Dark Aura. Also, just like in Days, he’d wield Oblivion.
Kingdom Hearts coded Worlds
Some of the enemies would be replaced by Blox Bugs, and all of the Giga Shadows would be replaced by Metal Bugs.
That’s it.
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Worlds
“Dismiss” would be a Terra-Xehanort battle in Radiant Garden. Terranort’s “Special Attack” would be his “Rock Storm” attack (i.e. the attack from his Keyblade Graveyard battle where he summons rocks from the ground and launches them at the Lingering Will). Mostly because I don’t want him to rehash Ansem’s attack.
Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance Worlds
The Symphony of Sorcery would be one of the Disney Worlds, but it’s two tracks would be Symphony No. 6 “Pastoral” Op. 68 and The Nutcracker Suite Op. 71 as Field Battle music stages, with the “All Clear” reward being “L’Apprenti Sorcier” Field Battle MS Material that can be used to synthesize a Field Battle Music Stage. Both Music Stages would use the appropriate environments from DDD.
Additionally “L’Impeto Oscuro” would be a Young Xehanort battle, with his “Special Attack” being his “Zero Shot”, but with multiple volleys of the dark projectiles.
Additionally “The Eye of Darkness” would be an Armored Ventus Nightmare battle, with his “Special Attack” being the attack where he turns the background white.
Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep ~a fragmentary passage~ Worlds
... Keep scrolling.
Kingdom Hearts III Worlds
This is where the most comprehensive changes will be.
First of all, Olympus would be present with TWO Music Stages: “Mt. Olympus” and “Heroes Fanfare”.
There’d be a Darkened World corresponding to “Titanic Clash“.
Secondly, the “Secret Forest” would be a world you’d have to clear to access the bulk of the KH3 worlds, with one track: “Dearly Beloved ~The Secret Forest~” as a Memory Dive Music Stage.
Finally, each of the Disney Worlds would have two Field Battle Stages.
Toy Box would have “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” and “Toy Box Jam”, plus a Darkened World based off of “Skyward Strike”.
The “fairy tale kingdom” who’s name was not spoken aloud in the English version would have “Happy Hair Day” and “Swinging Free”.
Monstropolis would have “Monstropolis Now” and “Monster Smash”.
Arendelle would have “Frozen Wonderland” and “Miracle on Ice”, with “Let it Go” Memory Dive MS Materials as the “All Clear Bonus”. “Anger Unchained” would be attached to an Arendell-themed Darkened World, with THAT being where you’d get Arendell’s All Clear Bonus from canon.
San Fransokyo would have “AR: Augmented Rhythm” and “Robot Overdrive” with “Eye of the Storm” being a Darkened World.
“Aqua (Dark Dive)” would be included as a Boss Battle music stage you have to clear to access the Keyblade Graveyard. Anti-Aqua’s “Special Attack” would be her take on the “Spellweaver” Style Change.
The Keyblade Graveyard would be unchanged, but “Hearts as One” and “Dawn of Hope” would be Darkened Worlds.
Scala ad Caelum would be a world with “Scala ad Caelum” and “Edge of Existence” as its Field Battle Music Stages.
Melody of Memory’s End
You’d actually be prompted to select a difficulty as soon as you enter.
Additionally, it would actually be possible to FAIL the first two Music Stages if you run out of HP. However, each Music Stage would serve as a checkpoint.
“Stranded Beyond” would be a Field Battle Music Stage, with Kairi replacing you’re currently equipped Team’s Leader as a “Guest Character”. Her abilities, triggered by Ability Crystals, would be “Seven Wishes” for melee, and “Heart of a Princess” for magic. Heartless, Nobodies, Unversed, and Dream Eaters would stand in her way.
“Kairi III” would play more or less the same.
The Master Xehanort battle is where things are shaken up a bit. Instead of Kairi wearing herself out and needing Sora to save her, when Xehanort tries to strike her with her Keyblade, Kairi would use her “Light Barrier” to protect herself, then the “Counterblast” to knock Xehanort away and disarm him, before flying right at Xehanort, forcing him to summon his Keyblade to parry her, at which he’d do that thing swordsmen do in anime where they launch their opponents. This is pretty much the point where the Boss Battle begins, a duel between Kairi and Xehanort. Other than that, it plays like canon.
From there, the ending basically plays out the same, except Kairi stays behind because she needs to regain her strength from sleeping for a whole year.
All three of the Music Stages from the Final World would be unlocked upon clearing it.
Finally: instead of “Difficulty Master Xehanort was defeated” you’d get “Difficulty Final World was cleared”.
Playing them in Track Select with Guest Characters turned off would result in the Team Leader taking Kairi’s place, allowing anyone to 1v1 Xehanort or glide over the Final World alone.
One-Winged Angel, Rage Awakened, and The Other Promise
All three would be optional bonus bosses.
Sephiroth’s “Special Attack” would be Supernova.
The Lingering Will’s “Special Attack” would be its Keyblade Glider Attack.
Roxas’ Special Attack would be the one where he turns the background into the twilit sky and surrounds himself with a barrier of thirteen beams of light to launch a barrage of light attacks from within.
Everything Else
Face My Fears Memory Dive.
Maybe Memory Dives and Boss Battles in VS Mode.
Co-op Memory Dives?

Franny’s 30 Day Cover Challenge
Playlist
Franny’s 30 Day Cover Song Challenge: (categories are mostly from here, and here, with some from here, and a couple I made) in September 2020 one of her musician friends challenged her to do the thing and she was like “It seems like a fun way to show everyone what kind of music has influenced me as a musician, singer, songwriter, and just like, person. So I’m going to do it.”
In reality, she recorded most of them in 1-2 days to distract her from how sad she is because Wilbur hates her and he’s sad lmao
It helped a little.
(If you want me to drop the playlist she mentions in #24 let me know, I have it started I can finish it)
TW: mentions of Franny’s political beliefs so tw: politics, an allusion to suicide though the word isn’t directly used, mention of 9/11 and the subsequent invasions...nothing graphic with any of these triggers but worth a forewarning
Day 01 - A song that makes you happy
Honey Spiders by The Parlotones
“The Parlotones are this fantastic indie rock band out of South Africa. And I actually thought about doing their song, uh, Stars Fall Down for day sixteen, but I’m going with Honey Spiders for day 1. There were lots of Parlotones songs, I mean. Push Me to The Floor, We Call This Dancing, Should We Fight Back...but ah, Honey Spiders always puts me in a good mood.”
Day 02 - A song that helps you clear your head
Light of a Clear Blue Morning by Dolly Parton
“I grew up on Dolly, and it’s funny because for the longest time this song wasn’t really on my radar as much as it is now. But when I was twenty-two I was going through something really difficult, and my then-fiance now husband was abroad for work, so I was alone in our apartment and just. Really, profoundly sad and lonely. So I put on a Dolly Parton record and just laid on the bed and Light Of A Clear Blue Morning played and I had a good long cry and felt so much better after that. When I need to think about how to solve a difficult problem, or I feel overwhelmed, I just listen to that song.”
Day 03 - Song you love from a band/artist you hate
Should’ve Been A Cowboy by Toby Keith
“Honestly, he’s called me a nasty lady to my face and I’ve called him a facist enabling pig to his, so I have no qualms openly saying I hate Toby Keith. That being said, Should’ve Been A Cowboy is one of the best country songs of the 90s, undeniably. I loved that song when it came out when I was thirteen, and I still love it.”
Day 04 - A song about drugs or alcohol
Whiskey Lullaby by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss
“This is probably cheating, because my lovely best friend Daniel and I cover this a lot at Dara & Danny shows. But today look who I have! My friend Max from Seoul Hanoi’d! Max the Korean Scot who can’t hide his accent to save his life, so let’s see how it sounds in a Scottish accent.”
Day 05 - A protest song
Talking Vietnam Blues by Phil Ochs /// and Here’s to The State of Mississippi by Phil Ochs
“This one was hard because I. Fucking. Love. Protest music. I could have done a whole 30 days of protest music - wow, let me know if I should do that and give my husband a heart attack with all the twitter threats I’ll invite. Huh. Right, so I was going to do Your Flag Decal Won’t Get You Into Heaven by John Prine. But I decided to do two Phil Ochs songs because I don’t think Phil Ochs is talked about enough. It’s a shame we lost him so young. Ochs’ sardonic humor and honesty in his writing has influenced me as a songwriter deeply. When I write political songs, I don’t hold back, and it’s because of Phil Ochs’ writing that I have that courage. I’ve been singing Love Me, I’m A Liberal since I was in college with constantly updating lyrics. It was so hard to even choose which songs of his to do because for his fairly short career his songbook is lengthy and full of gems. I’m Going to Say It Now, Draft Dodger Rag, Spanish Civil War Song, I Ain’t Marching Anymore...I couldn’t pick one so I’m cheating and recording two.”
Day 06 - A song you wish you wrote
When I Think About Cheatin’ by Gretchen Wilson
“I will forever be pissed off that I didn’t write this song. I’m absolute trash for my husband, so it’s never -- I’ve never had to be in a situation to ever consider -- but this song gets me every time. It feels like I could have written it. Because we do spend a lot of time apart travelling for our work. And the sentiment expressed in the song is a little too real.”
Day 07 - A song in a language you don’t speak
Khattar by Khine Htoo
“This will either be a charming attempt to sing in Burmese or I’m about to offend a lot of people. Which, being a politically outspoken woman on the internet, I’m used to anyway. So. 1, 2, 3, okay here goes.”
Day 08 - A song by an artist no longer living
Phop Samnang by Sinn Sisamouth (inspiration)
“Haha, you thought I’d see the name of this category and not do a Sinn Sisamouth song? You were wrong.”
Day 09 - A song you want to dance to at your wedding
Devoted To You by The Everly Brothers
“I’m already married, so this was actually our first dance song at our wedding. Day three of our wedding, like the more Westernized wedding ceremony day. We had a three day long traditional Cambodian wedding and I felt like a princess. An-y-way!”
Day 10 - A song that makes you cry
Borrowed Rooms and Old Wood Floor by Emily Scott Robinson
“Unfortunately, Emily Scott Robinson and I aren’t related. Sad, I know, because she’s so talented. Almost her entire album Traveling Mercies is...sad as hell. The record reminded me of early Dolly Parton, and my second solo album. You know, all those sad-ass songs. The Dress is honestly the song that makes me the saddest but I can’t even listen to it without crying so.”
Day 11 - A song that you love hearing live
Prove My Love  by Violent Femmes
“There is nobody I have seen in concert more than Dolly Parton, but Violent Femmes and George Strait come incredibly close. The Cranberries, the amount of times I saw them in the 90s and early 2000s...close fourth. Probably. The very first concert I dragged my husband to was a Violent Femmes concert, he was not prepared for how hard college me went.”
Day 12 - A song from before 1960
There Ain’t No Sweet Man That’s Worth The Salt of My Tears by Libby Holman
“This song is from 1928. I came across it when I was in grad school and it’s, as the kids say, a bop.”
Day 13 - A song you think everybody should listen to
White Man’s World by Jason Isbell
“I think perspectives of people of color should of course take precedence in these conversations. But I find this song to be a good faith attempt of a white man coming to terms with the institutional racism and sexism in the world around him. And I think this song can be a useful tool to explain certain concepts of racial justice to ignorant but well-meaning folks. As a woman of color I think Jason Isbell did a great job not centering himself even though it was from his perspective. This song is great musically and necessary socially.”
Day 14 - A song from the 1970s
You’re No Good by Linda Ronstadt
“Linda Ronstadt is grossly underrated, that’s all I have to say here.”
Day 15 - A song people wouldn’t expect you to like
Racists by Anti-flag
“I mean, I’ve talked about how much I like punk in the past, and I remember a video of Seoul Hanoi’d doing Spanish Bombs at a San Antonio show made the rounds, but I don’t think I’ve talked about how much I like Anti-flag. People don’t expect me to like punk for some reason. But I agree with...everything punk music is all about.”
Day 16 - A song that holds a lot of meaning to you
Blue by LeAnn Rimes
“It’s silly, but I won a county fair singing competition with this song in high school and it really fueled my passion for music, that win. It’s also the first song Cornelius heard me go full Georgia on, with the yodels and all, at the little bar in my hometown on his first trip meeting my parents. The song doesn’t cut to my very soul ot anythin’, but it’s special to me.”
Day 17 - A song attached to a memory
Supernova by Liz Phair
“I remember buying Liz Phair’s Whip-smart album when I was eleven. And in college, when I was getting ready for dates with Cornelius in my dorm room, I would dance around to a CD I burned and wrote on it with a sharpie, ‘Pre-date Movie Scene Music.’ God, what was even on there? I’m about to expose myself as the most basic 1999-2001 bitch. I remember Head Over Feet, I mean, Alanis Morisette? I was a young woman in 2000, obviously I loved her. Mm, Dreams by The Cranberries...oh, Kiss Me, Sixpence None The Richer...yeah, anyway, Supernova was on there.”
Day 18 - A song from the year you were born
Call Me by Blondie
“...I can’t believe Call Me is as old as I am.”
Day 19 - A song that reminds you of someone you miss
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing (yes, of course she does a cover with banjo)
“This was my late best friend Molly’s favorite hymn. And I sang it at her funeral at her husband’s request. Molly and I grew up together in the small town of Payne Lake, Georgia and Molly was the most devout Christian...but she was also the first person I came out to as bisexual when I was a teenager, and she said that Jesus taught her that love was the greatest commandment and that meant I was automatically twice as good at it as her. Her faith guided her every action but she never talked down on her two best friends - Dan(iel Maitland) and I for not sharing it. Molly was doing the whole emulate Jesus thing beautifully. I miss her every day and it’s been seven years. If you ever think that people won’t miss you...you’re wrong. All right, let’s see if I can get through this without crying.”
Day 20 - A song by an artist you discovered this year
Hello, Anxiety by Phum Viphurit
“I just discovered this quirky Thai-Kiwi singer and not to be dramatic, but he’s my favorite thing in the world right now.”
Day 21 - A song with a city or country in the title
Oh! Phnom Penh (track 20)
“This song was written after the fall of the Khmer Rouge, and after people began to make their way to what was left of their homes, alone, or with what was left of their families. If you want to learn more about what that was like to actually live it, my cousin Reena Boran has a video interviewing her parents and paternal grandfather and uncle about it. Reena is a journalism student currently studying in London but she lives in Cambodia. Her mother is my aunt Malisruot, my mother’s youngest sister. The video is English subtitled on her channel, I’ll link it in the description box below.”
Day 22 - A song from the 1960s
To Sir, With Love by Lulu
“I didn’t actually discover this song until I heard it covered at a 10,000 Maniacs concert in the 90s. My friend Allison was standing next to me and I just started crying and she’s like ‘are you okay?’ and all I just blubbered out ‘My dad!’ For the uninitiated, my dad married my mom, who’d raised me alone until then, when I was six and he adopted me when I was eight. My dad didn’t have to adopt me, he didn’t have to call me his daughter, he could have just been like half of my friends’ stepdads and give me a place to live and nothing else. But my dad was my biggest supporter from day one. He convinced my mom to let me join the dance team and show choir instead of science club, he was the one that talked my mom down from probably killing me when they found out I was only studying music and not music and political science at NYU. I am who I am today because he is my dad. And this song just says everything I’ve always thought about him.”
Day 23 - A song from your childhood
Una Lacrima Sul Viso by Bobby Solo
“But Franny, aren’t you a Cambodian raised in the US? Yes, but you were fooled. My very white father is also an immigrant. He is from Switzerland and while he didn’t teach me to speak Italian and German growing up, he played German, Italian, and French records all the time. My parents often spoke to each other in French and I picked up some French but properly studied it starting in high school, and I didn’t study Italian until college -- and my German is still …. [points to a spot on the screen where she later inserted a card linking to a video on her cousin Köbi Framagucci’s YouTube channel titled ‘Can My American Cousin Speak German?’ where he tests her Standard and Swiss German speaking and comprehension]. But hell if I couldn’t sing every one of the songs from my father’s French, German, and Italian record before I knew what the words even meant.”
Day 24 - A song that gives you chill vibes
Glorify by Ivan & Alyosha
“Dan(iel Maitland) and I actually have an entire playlist on my Spotify accounts of songs to listen to to get us out of writers’ block. And one that I often will put on repeat and just absorb through my headphones with my eyes closed is a song called Glorify by Ivan & Alyosha. I think it touches on a lot of the themes I include in my songwriting. Christian mythology, the darker side of humanity, it often reminds me of what I love about songwriting. If you say please I might drop a link to that playlist.”
Day 25 - A song that’s your signature song
Long Gone Lonesome Blues by Hank Williams“Right, so I chose this instead of a Kitty Wells song or I Get A Kick Out of You (her being
featured on a 2005
recording propelled her career majorly) because if you’re familiar with me you might have seen a video that went around in like….2017? 2016? of Dan(iel Maitland) and I doin’ the song at our hometown bar in 2014. I posted it in response to some tweets because hoes mad when a WOC calls out racism and sexism in the Nashville music industry. ‘Bet she don’t even know Hank’, really? You think I wouldn’t know the history of one of the two music industries I work in? Please. Anyway, she knows Hank and nails the incredibly technical yodel -- the
most difficult
one in Hank’s songbook - in Long Gone Lonesome Blues. Mm...Lovesick Blues though, that also strikes fear into my heart. Anyway stay mad I guess?”
Day 26 - A song by your favorite band
Gun Shy by 10,000 Maniacs
“10,000 Maniacs was one of my favorite bands when I was in like 5th grade through 10th. I listened to them for a little while after Natalie Merchant left for a solo career, but the Natalie Merchant era was really what resonated with me the most. Gun Shy was a bit too advanced for my little 5th, 7th grade ears to really appreciate when I first discovered the album In My Tribe. Merchant’s voice -- because like, I don’t have a very conventional voice either, so her and Dolores O’Riordan really changed my entire perspective on what a woman’s voice can sound like in rock music. Um, yeah, so her voice more than the lyrics just wowed me. And as I got closer to graduating high school and especially in college I actually understood what What’s The Matter Here, Hey Jack Kerouac, and Gun Shy were talking about. Gun Shy...really became a significant song to me because...being born in 1980 I grew up in a relatively peaceful time. The Cold War was all but thawed by my tenth birthday. But I was getting ready to leave my then-boyfriend-now-husband’s apartment for class at NYU on the morning of 9/11. We stood in line for hours to donate blood. And then my government invaded two completely unrelated countries and jingoism and terrifying, fervent nationalism, and xenophobia just smacked me in the face. And friends of mine from high school were convicted to drop out of college and join the Army, and died, for an unjust, imperialist war, and suddenly Phil Ochs, John Prine, and Bob Dylan lyrics hit a lot different, and I understood what Gun Shy was really about.”
Day 27 - A song you hate by an artist you love
Mrs.Robinson by Simon & Garfunkel
“Paul Simon is one of my favorite songwriters ever, um, and I actually used to like Mrs. Robinson….until I got married and everyone sang it at me. It’s kind of my fault, I did choose to take my husband’s last name. And I leaned into it by making my social media handles all Mrs. Robinson...but still. Only play the song around me if you want to die.”
Day 28 - A song that a younger you would have loved
Mean by Taylor Swift
“I’m so genuinely glad that I am older than Taylor Swift. Middle school Franny did not need Taylor Swift to enable me and fuel my ego. Some of her singles, while not really 35 and 40 year old Franny’s cup of tea, young me would have played until my mother hid the record or cassette from me. Although - fuck if Tim McGraw didn’t immediately give my happily married ass flashbacks to my first love and make me bawl like a baby? Right, so when Speak Now came out and I listened to it, Mean, while not a song that adult me has listened to maybe more like ten times, I immediately thought ‘wow, I needed this song when I was in middle and high school.’ I could literally picture 7th grade me with my little guitar and my little cowboy boots my dad bought for me singing this at the talent show making eye contact with the kids who bullied me as if it was some kind of own when it’s not. I could still, almost thirty years later, name them if I really wanted. So, for 7th grade me, Mean by Taylor Swift.”
Day  29- A song that reminds you of your partner/spouse
ផាត់ជាយបណ្តូលចិត្ / Phat Cheay Bon'dol Chet by Sinn Sisamuth (translation) (female singer covering it) (modern, studio recording of a male and female singer dueting it) (a cool violin cover) (another female singer) (cool guitar cover)
Feat. some members of Seoul Hanoi’d. Andy Chaiyaporn (violin), Max Cho (piano), Jodie Batbayar (cello), Aisulu Niyazova-Li (percussion) and Franny has her guitar
“The song, lyrically, only reminds me of my husband a little bit. But Phat Cheay Bondol Chet has several memories with my husband attached to it. The first time he heard me sing in Khmer was at my mother’s house in Atlanta when I had him visit the first time to meet my parents. My mom had a little dinner party at our house to show him off, like Asian moms do when they think their daughter snags a good one, and I was hand washing the dishes while my mom and the other Cambodian parents were listening to Sinn Sisamuth records. I’ve always loved the song I’ll be showing y’all today, like I’ve always just stopped what I was doing and -- so it came on and I just started singing along without really being aware of it. And then at a different diaspora get together that summer, that song came on and I just kinda. Pulled him aside to the side yard of that person’s house to look at the stars with him and translated the song. It’s one of the Khmer songs he instantly recognizes now, so it’s special.”
Franny did NOT say in the video that college her 100% had him sit in the grass with her outside that person’s house, where nobody could see, so she could makeout with him
Day 30- A song by one of your favorite songwriters
Reincarnation by Roger Miller
Feat. Seoul Hanoi’d, done more in the style of the Cake cover
Also instead of singing the lyric “you’re a girl, I’m a boy” she goes “you’re a girl, so am I” because she doesn’t ever change pronouns, she just makes it gay because she is a bi-con
“Roger Miller, to me, is as important as Dolly Parton, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, in the American songbook. He’s not as talked about which is a shame because his discography is iconic. Getting to be a part of King of The Road was one of the highlights of my career.”

Star Trek Picard S1 Ramblings
Not that anyone from CBS will ever see this or even care if they did – once you create art you create a critic. I’m the critic and I am not a “toxic fan” for not praising every little detail from Star Trek Picard Season 1.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Spoilers<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
So ST: Picard ended its first season and I have spent the last week or so thinking over the series. There was so much and yet so little I am still finding it difficult to find the words to describe how I feel about it.
Tumblr media
Lets start with the pilot (Season 1 Episodes 1, 2 & 3.)
First and foremost, I despise 3-episode pilots. They are almost always a waste of time, and the story can almost always be condensed into 2 episodes. This was no different for Picard. I understand that this was meant to set-up the world of Picard and also allowed new fans to be introduced to the world of Trek, but it seriously delayed the plot.
I also believe that if you are new to Trek, you don’t really need a whole lot of set up. The basics can be conveyed rather easily; Picard was a part of a Space Navy called Starfleet. He lives on Earth, it’s a paradise in the 25th Century. He’s being asked for help from a stranger and that will launch him on an adventure that takes him back into space. Honestly, Trek is easy to slide into.
What could have been:
This is the part of my review where I get to Fannon my own idea’s.
Season one as it was could have been completely different and still lead into the events that we had. I would start my ret-con around the attack on Mars.
Tumblr media
Pew Pew
The Pitch: Its is only a few months before the Hobus Supernova explosion will reach the outer Romulan colonies, killing hundreds of millions. Admiral Picard is attempting to oversee the final phase of the operation when he discovers a Romulan Spy in Starfleet Ranks. He sets out on a search to discover the true identity of the spy and stop their plans to hijack the Synth construction workers. Along this adventure he meets with Dr. Soji from the Daystrom Institute – a genius cyberneticist, and his trusted friend Raffi who discover the plot may be more sinister than just hijacking of synths, and may hold a dark fate for the planet of Mars.
Episodes 1 & 2 Would be the set-up. Episodes 5 & 6 would reveal the plot about the Zhat Vash and their goals and Episodes 9 & 10 would have the Mars attack happen, reveal Soji as a Synth and the connection to Data and that he (or some part of him) may be alive.
There are things from season 1 I enjoy, though! I just feel this story was rushed and yet… so poorly executed it felt slow.
Tumblr media
Excuse me, this is my emotional support crew. Where I go, they go. #foundfamily
For Example, my Pro’s:
·      Visiting Chateau Picard
·      Ex-Tal Shiar agents working for Picard
·      Use of real-locations! Real sunlight! It felt more REAL.
·      Swearing (subversive opinion!)
·      The Archives
·      The holograms of Rio’s as the crew (And by extension the use of Holograms more freely in the Star Trek Universe)
·      Elnor. <3
·      Seven of Nine <3
·      Hugh <3
·      Picard and Hugh hugging
·      Locutus (any reference)
·      Soji’s meditation Journey
·      Soji-hulk. Soji-smash.
·      TNG REUNION!
·      7 of 9 tertiary adjunct of BORG QUEEN
·      Spot II
·      More Synths (though less than I was hoping for)
·      Synth alliance (in concept)
·      Picard flying a ship
·      Gay Seven (or, Bi? Not-straight Seven!)
Tumblr media
...My face says “where am I” and my eyes say “not a single thought has ever passed through this head”
And then there are some things that I would put on my Con’s:
·      Soji Dying so early on
·      Jurati / Maddox relationship. Gross. (age difference)
·      Far too little of my favorite Ex-Tal Shiar Romulans
·      Narek. I like nothing about him.
·      The holograms of Rios and their “backgrounds” / Accents
·      Ichebs death!!!! >:(
·      Vjayzl (Don’t know if that’s the spelling. Don’t care. She and her name were terrible)
·      The whole Stardust City episode. Ugh.
·      Narek / Soji Relation-shit
·      Riker and Troi having a dead child because ~~reasons~~ Wasn’t necessary.
·      Borg rebellion too short.
·      Dr. Alton. Should have been Maddox.
·      The flowers? Like??? ????? !!! ????!?!?!??!!?
·      Beacon = Large; shoots beams of light.
·      Tentacle porn Synths (also obvi evil)
·      Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V Starships
·      Gay Seven (or Bi?) **see below**
And that’s it I guess. Overall, if I had to score Season 1 of Picard out of 10, I’d give it a solid 6.5.
There was a lot that could have been done better, and they should have created a more cohesive story that would leave a few threads open for a renewal (before they knew they were being renewed) but have a conclusion to the main arc. The references to prior Trek were nice, but references don’t make for a good story. I hope going forward we get a more tightly bound story. And for fucks sake, someone show Elnor the damn cat! He’s waited long enough!
Tumblr media
Role model and Queen.
** Now some of you may be wondering about the Gay 7 of 9 thing being in the con’s too. Let me be clear. I am Gay, and I support the LGBTQ+ community and its representation in media. My issue is less to do with Seven being gay or bi, and more about how that was literally just dropped at our feet last minute. FIRST OF ALL, she’s clearly been eye-banging Janeway for years. Gimmie that or nothing! I’ll write v-jazzle off as rebound fuck during a rough patch with Janeway.
This part is harder for me to articulate, but I hope y’all will get the gist. Showing lesbians sharing an intimate and non-sexual moment on tv is taking the easy route. Its in the same vein at Catsuits for women on old trek. It is meant to appeal to Straight Boys. In this way, lesbians are generally more accepted than gay men. The flip side to that is, lesbians become more fetishized. That is a separate issue and another topic for another day. It deserves its own post.
If Star Trek wanted to really be more progressive, give us some more gay men in non-sexual yet intimate moments. I know we have DISCO and Staments/Culbur, but there is still such a huge stigma around gay men because TV still equates it with sex. Show me men who just like to cuddle! Get them holding hands and making heart-eyes at each other. Maybe season 2 will open up some possibilities on that front. Until then… if they majorly fuck up what they started with Saffi(Seven/Raffi?? Anyone? Is this a thing?), imma be pissed.

VLD6x02 – “Razor’s Edge”
6x02 – “Razor’s Edge”
It’s a little weird that the second episode of season six is starting literally right where the fifth episode of season five ended. It’s one thing for an episode to start right where the previous one ended, but this episode is starting right where three episodes ago ended. Keith is still standing there surprised to realize that Krolia is his mother. He has tons of questions he asks her, including “How are you so sure?” And her response: “I’m sure.” That’s not an answer. We know so little about the actual blades the Blades wield, but I guess we’re supposed to interpret all this as the blade is somehow genetically coded to a person, and that’s why both Keith and Krolia can affect the same blade? That would be an easy explanation for the show to give to give Keith an answer here as to how Krolia knows he’s her son, but the dialog instead is written to be cryptic-cliché. She follows up, telling him, “We can talk about this later.”
For all how Krolia’s dialog is supposed to suggest that they don’t have time to talk right now, she is just standing there doing nothing, not working to pilot their craft anywhere, not trying to contact anyone else in the Blades, nothing. (Also, can’t they talk as they travel to their next location?) Having the two of them standing there doing nothing, if we’re to believe they don’t have time to discuss this, then makes the scene feel like they forgot to choose any action to animate.
There’s a bit of flashback to explain how Krolia has information that Kolivan and Keith don’t about the unexpected transport lines of quintessence. Krolia apparently studied the ship from which Ranveig got the quintessence he used to make his “weapon,” and she determined that the ship had passed through the “quantum abyss.” That she never bothered transmitting that information to Kolivan/the Blades is baffling.
The description of the quantum abyss is science-sounding nonsense. Neutron stars are real, they’re the core left over when a relatively large star (though not the largest) goes supernova. Despite the name, neutron stars are not exactly stars since they’re no longer undergoing fusion They’re essentially a stellar corpse. A neutron star is small, having a typical radius of just 10 kilometers (for comparison, Earth has a radius of a bit over 6000 kilometers, and Pluto has a radius of a bit over 1000 kilometers). So, Krolia then saying that in this quantum abyss, neutron stars “orbit even larger, dark stars” sounds really silly to me. If her statement is trying to refer to mass instead of volume, neutron stars aren’t particularly massive either, with average masses somewhere between 1.5 and 2 times the mass of our sun. What makes their mass-volume relation interesting is that that much mass fits in such little volume, which Krolia does accurately reference the objects’ high density. You wouldn’t want to get close to a neutron star, but Galra technology should be more than enough to let them maneuver past neutron stars unbothered.
As for “dark stars,” I’ve never heard that term before, and the best I can tell it is either effectively another name for black holes or a name for a theoretical object involving dark matter that could only have existed in the earliest days of the universe. I imagine the word was used in writing this episode because the word “dark star” sounds ominous. So basically, this “quantum abyss” is just a stellar graveyard. Krolia says that the area has “unusual effects on gravitational waves and space-time itself.” The gravity of such an environment might be complicated to calculate and map, but it’s not “unusual.” If the Galra are a technologically advanced civilization such that they can dominate the whole universe, then they should be able to understand gravity of neutron stars and black holes that, while it might not be Krolia’s area of expertise, it wouldn’t be something she would think of as “unusual.”
Finally, the term “quantum abyss” seems so inaccurate, even if the show is trying to make up a name for the area Krolia describes. Nothing about her description makes me think of quantum mechanics, nor is an area full of neutron stars and black holes appropriately described by the word abyss, which is by definition a large, empty area.
Moving on.
Lotor is still talking up Allura, connecting her increasing her abilities to the achievements of Alfor. She’s standing there doing this show’s typical hand-touch-and-glow method of not actually doing anything but pretending something is actually happening. “Our visit to Oriande has taught me more than I ever thought possible,” Allura says. Since the show’s magic system is so undefined and opaque, and she’s doing no differently than we’ve seen her do before – touching something and glow – it doesn’t really feel like she’s learned anything. She thanks Lotor, and he thanks her, saying that she’s the “key to bringing peace to the universe.” I guess all this is supposed to be him still just being manipulative and secretly villainous.
Lotor and Allura nearly kiss before Pidge, Hunk, and Lance interrupt them. Pidge and Hunk are upset that they’ve been left out since they both like technology. Lance, meanwhile, of course is jealous, but his typical aggressive manifestation of his jealousy is interrupted by him accidentally knocking over some tools, which was funny. Allura tells them there’s nothing really for them to do, and Lotor points out that what Allura’s doing is infusing the ship, not building it. Pidge and Hunk are okay not being involved when they realize it’s all just “magic.” Lance, however, still wants to help. As much as I find Lance’s angry, entitled jealousy infuriating, how he ends this scene feeling sad, dejected, and lonely is something I can totally understand and makes me feels sympathetic.
Krolia and Keith arrive at the quantum abyss. The music in this episode is fantastic. It’s some of my favorite in the entire series, and I listen to it often.
Krolia says that Ranveig sent a lot of probes into the quantum abyss trying to track where the quintessence came from. (So, Krolia has known for a long time about this quantum abyss as being the origin point for the quintessence in the unexpected shipments the Blades of Marmora had been tracking. If Ranveig had time to send multiple probes into the area, then Krolia had time to relay information about all this to Kolivan.) “The probes picked up a path that was relatively unaffected by space-time,” Krolia says. This statement is more bad science. Space-time is not some external force that affects you. This situation would be more the opposite of what Krolia says; instead, all the objects in the quantum abyss would affect space-time significantly, and difficulty navigating would be the result of that effect on space-time. In other words, space-time would not affect things, things affect space-time.
She says that they never found out where the path these probes mapped went because the probes were all destroyed by something, and they never identified what. It’s a little noticeable that the dialog was written to try to create tension at the idea of something threatening and destroying the probes, whereas the most likely answer would just be that the path the probes mapped was simply a dead-end. So, this dialog is kind of written to jump to a conclusion.
They are attacked by weird, spiky creatures as they begin their journey into the quantum abyss. After they start being attacked, Keith says, “Krolia, we’ve got trouble.” What a useless line of dialog; she already knows since she’s in the same small ship Keith’s in and could feel the impacts and has all the warning alarms sounding off. The creatures can phase through the matter of the ship and come inside, though Krolia can blow them up with her gun. Krolia asks Keith for ship’s status, and he initially replies, “The ship’s damaged.” You think? The thrusters are offline, and they’re starting to drift because of gravitational pull. Keith and Krolia jettison from the fighter and are left floating in space.
Keith points out that the ship had the necessary coordinates to navigate through the quantum abyss, and Krolia responds, “We’ll have to make do.” Sigh. The idea of making do regarding something this complex is absurd. She continues, “As long as we stay inside the borders of the space-time drop-offs, we should be safe.” This sentence sounds silly to me since space-time is literally everywhere. I guess “space-time drop-offs” are supposed to be areas of space-time where gravity of the nearby objects strongly warps space-time? I think it’s just the wording “drop-off” that’s odd, which has a connotation of something ceasing to be. The writing didn’t need to name it, they could have just described the gravitational affect they were moving to avoid.
Some large object in the quantum abyss explodes or something, sending out a giant blast of light. This made me realize until this point I didn’t notice that the visual depiction of this area that’s supposedly made up of neutron stars and black holes doesn’t look like it. Neutron stars, though they cease fusion, are still bright. A black hole would only be visible as a dark relief against the light of other objects. Given the closeness of these objects and the gravity in the quantum abyss tearing objects apart, there would be a lot of objects with accretion discs, which are also bright. This area is animated as incorrectly dark. Most everything here looks like just shadowy chunks of rock.
Krolia jumps between Keith and the energy radiating out from whatever exploded. I honestly have no idea what’s happening, what these explosions are supposed to be.
Keith opens his eyes to find himself in some endlessly white area that dims enough to show Krolia and his father naming him in front of Keith’s house back on Earth. He then sees a premonition of his upcoming fight with the Shiro-clone. Back to relative normal in the quantum abyss, Krolia tells Keith, “Time collapses this close to dark stars. Going through the light triggers glimpses of the past and the future.” Absolutely not. If the show wants to have Keith have visions of the past and future, that’s fine, but don’t try to give it a science-violating, half-assed explanation. The episode could have just had Keith knocked unconscious, and while unconscious, his metaphysical bond to people could have magically given him visions. But for the show to have spent so much of this episode going space-time this and space-time that to now severe time from space-time and pretend that it functions differently, when the whole point of the concept of space-time is that space and time are actually different dimensions of the same thing, this just does not work whatsoever. I don’t mind the fiction part of science fiction, but I do expect anything science-like included in science fiction to at least somewhat match up with what we know scientifically.
Meanwhile, Lance is still sad. Pidge and Hunk see him upset, and instead of being friends who care about a sad friend, they mock and bully him. I don’t think I could ever be friends with the EPs and writers of this show since this sort of behavior is what they apparently think friendship is. They want us to think that these characters care about each other, but scenes like this show that they don’t.
Things continue to happen with Keith and Krolia, and it’s staring to be uninteresting. Keith is almost spaghettified (that’s a real term for the effect of super high gravity, by the way), but he throws his blade, attached to a rope, into a rock, and Krolia pulls him out of the area where gravity was starting to spaghettify him. Absolutely not. Their muscle strength is no where even slightly close to the amount of force needed to escape that kind of gravity.
There’s another light blast, so we get to see Krolia’s past of her as part of a two-man team looking for the Lions. Her partner orders her to “call it in,” and I can’t help thinking why doesn’t he just call it in then? It’s cheap (supposed) drama. She turns on him and starts trying to blast him. She destroys his fighter, but not before hers gets hit. She crashes on Earth, conveniently right at Keith’s dad’s house. He pulls her out of the wreckage. And we’re then back in the quantum abyss, Keith now having seen that vision.
Keith has another vision of Krolia and his father having found the Blue Lion. His dad suggests the Galaxy Garrison might help them, but Krolia says no. Krolia says that she wouldn’t go back to the Galra even if she could. That she wants to stay and protect Blue.
Lance is alone in the lounge. He’s still sad and upset. The mice come in, and he reacts by saying, “Great. Are you here to make fun of me too?” So, Pidge and Hunk’s behavior earlier most definitely had the effect of bullying on Lance. He has a monologue about his past making fun of people whose hearts have been broken, seemingly taking pride in his having a past of breaking the hearts of others, but then trying to contextualize that behavior as the result of him not knowing what it felt like to truly like someone. His insecurities make a return, as he says, “I don’t have anything to offer [Allura]. I’m just a boy from Cuba, not a space prince like Lotor.” Bringing Lance’s insecurities up again just reminds me how the show does not actually resolve this element of his character. His supposed character growth sort of happens off-screen (if it happens at all). It’s more of the EPs and writers not knowing how to write character growth, so they don’t ever show it. And that’s fundamental to the story this episode is telling about Keith too.
Back to Keith and Krolia in the quantum abyss. Keith points out, “At the rate we’re going, it’s going to take us a lifetime to reach the end.” Yeah, the plot feels aimless, like miscellaneous stuff is happening just to fill time. Keith says they need a new plan, and conveniently giant space whales the two of them should have been able to see from a distance suddenly pop up next to them. Sigh.
There’s another blast of light, and Keith sees Krolia feeding him when he was an infant. Krolia’s blade glows, which alerts her to the very nearby presence of Galra scouts. This is an ability of the blade that comes out of nowhere, so more writing that has things happen just because it’s convenient for the moment. Krolia plans on using some explosives that can’t destroy the fighters, but they can damage their engines (yet said explosions do later destroy a fighter, contradicting the writing here). Keith’s dad goes to do that. Krolia goes to interrogate the scouts, though she doesn’t actually ever interrogate them. A Galra sniper has sight on Keith’s dad from a nearby ridge. He pulls the trigger of his rifle and holds it way too long before the rifle finally fires; it’s unintentionally funny. Keith’s dad is shot, and he falls to the ground.
Krolia attacks two Galra in the Blue Lion cave. The sniper comes in and aims at her, telling her to drop her weapon. She feigns surrendering before attacking them. One Galra escapes her, gets to his fighter, takes off, but then explodes as Keith’s dad finally detonates the bombs.
Back at home, Keith’s dad tucks him in. Krolia says that she has to leave. She now thinks that she can best keep the Galra from getting their hands on the Blue Lion and protect Keith and his dad by returning to the Blades of Marmora and working from the inside to stop the Galra. She gives her blade to Keith’s dad to give to Keith eventually.
Back in the quantum abyss, Keith says that he finally understands why Krolia left, that she “put the mission above all else.” She counters, “That’s not true. I left to protect the person I most love: You.” Another space whale comes by, and they maneuver to get on its back.
The space whale creates its own atmosphere because of course it does. So, Keith and Krolia can breathe on it. We then begin the montage. Out of nowhere a shining object plunges into the back of the whale that turns out to be a sleeping space wolf. There are also giant insect-like creatures on the whale, that they fight off. Keith and Krolia camp. Keith feeds the space wolf. They sleep. More light flashes, letting Krolia see Keith grieving at his father’s grave when he was young. Keith plays fetch with the space wolf. It rains (seriously, the whale has a water cycle?). The space wolf teleports.
Then the montage ends with Keith announcing that it’s been two years.
It’s really all pretty ridiculous. Yes, relativity would have an affect on time that differentiates time passing for Keith and Krolia from the time experienced by people outside of the quantum abyss (the show has never cared about temporal relativity before). The show is using this time-lapse montage to again have character growth occur off-screen. The idea that this experience causes Keith to become a better leader, as the EPs have suggested, is absolutely ridiculous. As I’ve said before, leadership is a set of skills. Like all skills, you have to practice them to get better at them. Keith living with his mom and a space wolf and having no other contact with anyone for two years is not going to improve his leadership skills. Also, the space wolf is pointless. His introduction does not have any narrative weight. It’s just part of the cliché that so many stories have that the ideal life is a boy growing up with his parents and a dog. Don’t get me wrong, I like dogs, but the space wolf’s introduction and effect on the story is so nebulous. It just feels thrown in, not like it’s something necessary for the story.
Allura collapses after having exhausted herself from touching the ship and glowing. Lotor continues to speak supportively to Allura. She then goes to her room, where she finds the mice, who’ve been given a bath by Lance. They tell Allura that Lance loves her, and Allura’s face drops. She’s clearly bothered, in a sad way, not elated by the idea. It makes her eventually ending up in a relationship with Lance seem not like the inevitable outcome of their respective character arcs because she’s not shown being interested in him. It makes that relationship when it happens feel like forced narrative.
The space whale finally makes its way to a red planet. Krolia can detect the type of quintessence Ranveig found from relatively far distant from the planet with just the computer in her arm. Technological capability really is based on whatever the writers want to happen at any given moment. It leaves me feeling unable to anticipate how the world-building of the story can be applied to the development of the plot.
Completely off-screen, Krolia, Keith, and the space wolf somehow make it off the space whale and down onto the planet’s surface. There’s a building there that looks like Galra tech and architecture. Inside, they find a door that opens to what looks like a bright, colorful planet, and in that room, they come across a blond Altean at a stream of water. Romelle.
This time at least, watching this episode doesn’t feel balanced. A lot of the time spent progressing through the quantum abyss ended up feeling like the story was idling, stuck in neutral, just waiting to finally go somewhere. I am not a fan of the time-vision, not just because it has a science-illiterate veneer, but also because it doesn’t do character work as strongly as it could have. It makes the revelations Keith has be a passive thing. He just stands there and has visions. The same content of events – Krolia coming to Earth, her relationship with Keith’s dad, why she left Earth – could have been revealed through having Keith and Krolia talking to one another, having her do the uncomfortable thing of having to tell Keith the story of her past.
The two-year time jump exists for no other reason than to allow them to have Keith’s character development happen off-screen. By scripting it to take two years, the EPs and writers know that character development takes time, but they were unwilling to give it the time it needs. The time jump is a total storytelling cheat used because they didn’t want to do the hard work of writing character development.
It is nice to have the story thread introduced seasons ago of the Blades’ tracking the unexpected shipping lines of quintessence paid off now by having Keith find where that quintessence is coming from. Unfortunately, it means the story is introducing Lotor’s Altean colony, introducing Romelle, and prepping the show to have the “surprise” revelation that Lotor’s a villain all along. I am not a fan of this plotline because it makes me feel the EPs and writers did not fully think through the implications of their writing choices. They were so narrowly focused on wanting to pull off a “surprise” twist of Lotor-is-a-villain-all-along that they didn’t care about that twist nullifying the past storytelling and character work they’ve done. Ultimately, the whole colony story and Lotor-is-a-villain is the result of the EPs and writers wanting to manipulate the audience. The problem is, most of us don’t like being manipulated.

Angeii_K SQ Supernova Author Interview
@angeii_K and the story is The Game Changer
What inspired your Supernova story?
a dream actually, now what inspired the dream I'll never know! It was originally based before the pilot when Henry was 5...well in my dream at least but then I thought about making it in 3B and I played with that idea for a bit before deciding on making it a S1 AU and from there it got interesting. Oh, I edited tons out! Okay, not tons but a few scenes but that's pretty normal for me. How long did we have to write for it? well I finished it days before having to turn it in...then spent the last 3 editing my ass off.
Probably wouldn't have taken so long if it hadn't taken me about a month to start because I couldn't figure out the name for Regina's team which is now the Queens but before that it was the Royals, Black Stallions, Flaming Queens (which resulted in probably one of the funniest mental images I've had in a long time!) before I realized the perfect name was literally right in front of me the whole time and the Queens were born.
Tell us about your writing history for fandom/general, and have you participated in SQ big bang or writing challenges prior?
well I've been writing basically my whole life but "officially" um I posted my first fic back in 2012 in the Castle fandom and then for the last 3 years I've been writing a fic in the Rizzles fandom...and also a xover for NCIS/Rizzoli & Isles that's incomplete so this was my first posted SQ fic, I did write one for a friend but it's not posted online so I like to just call The Game Changer my first one. No, never, also a first, and it was something else! It resulted in a few panic attacks and some self doubt but well it was worth it in the end. The day it was posted up was one of the best moments I've had as a writer, it gives you this sense of pride and I was so proud of myself for completing it, I seriously doubted I would close to the end and so after I did I celebrated and then slept for a loooong time.
What is an interesting fact about you personally or related to your writing process?
oh...hmm, I only write between 1-8am (but that's usually when i finish unless i'm on a roll and then i write until everything hurts and my brain has started refusing to work) and in my bed, I've tried to write at my desk a few times but my writing just isn't as good...or that's at least what I think. I always make a playlist related to the story so I can be in the right mindset and sometimes if it's AU like in this story I will draw out things to really get a good picture, I designed the jerseys for them and one night a few doodles when I was stuck. Oh, I go crazy with research! Like my friend and I sat up for hours putting together the team rosters based on personality...I happened across an article about personalities of each position...I think I drove her mad, actually. Um, when I was little I used to make stories with stickers before I could print, is that interesting? I also made my sister an evil witch once...I actually grew up writing stories about magic and witches so it was fun to get back into those sorts of characters for this...although writing about baseball was definitely outta left field for me (baseball reference ftw!), I know next to nothing about it or any sport really (okay, except hockey, but that's like ingrained in my Canadian DNA) so I was just lucky my mom is a baseball nut and has a giant bucket of cards and stuff to study.
What other stories have you written?
I've written a bunch but posted only 4 and out of all of those New Beginnings which is for R&I and The Game Changer are my favourites but I guess if I had to choose I'd pick New Beginning's because of all the time and emotions I've put into it. It's a story very close to my heart and the subject is something I find important to talk about..and honestly it's helped me work through a lot of my shit over the years so yeah, that's it... oh crap, so many! Anything coalitiongirl has written, I'm in love with their work (she commented on this story, I fangirled so hard, my friend had a good laugh when I snapchatted her just me shrieking and jumping around). But my all time favourites are, does this make us both the other woman? by coalitiongirl which was the first SQ fic I read and then Safe by SgtMac (who is also an amazing writer and you should also go read all their stuff if you haven"t already) just, honestly though, everyone in this fandom is pretty freaking incredible!
Is there anything else you'd like people to know about you?
Come say hi, I promise I don't bite!! I'm always looking for fellow writers to bounce idea's off with and just getting to know people! You can find me on my Twitter refinedparrilla, my tumblrs mylife-ourthoughts or angeii-k, and well on my AO3/ff.net (Angeii.K). and just that this has been the best experience of my life and I'm so grateful to have been a part of this whole thing.

Tips, tricks, cheats, and other news
Set Up a Foolproof Defense
Defense can be king. When you bury yourself 10 feet under, you practically have a safe place to defend yourself against all enemy attacks. How do you do it? First, point your target angle to 270 degrees. Make sure your weapon is “Dirt Mover”, then fuel your power gauge to 100 power points. Fire! This should result in you being at the bottom of a “well”. You’re perpetually creating a trench/bunker for your tank to snugly settled in.
What if I don’t want to defend, but be on the offensive?
After safely “burying” yourself underground, activate your Groundhog weapon, which is a great underground weapon that moves in a straight line when you launch it. So basically, unless your enemy has the same tactic, you are avoiding all attacks by your enemy and are able to attack them while being protected! Homing worm, Cauldron, and a few others are great attacks to use when underground.
What if I don’t wanna be underground?
Above ground, there are so many different types of weapons you can use. Hail Storm, Ant Farm. We feel that combos, or combinations, are great. Here are some of the more powerful attack weapons that we feel would wipe out your opponent fast.
Porcupine (Close range, only though)
Fire in the Hole (Buries your opponent under layers of dirt, lets you earn higher points and also damages your opponent badly)
Firefly
Spinner (Repeated damage on opponent)
Supernova (Exploding star)
Particle Bomb
Golden Bullet
Chaos Grenade

There are 4 presently recognized monsters which will or will not be coming to Monster Hunter: World on PC, and we will probably be updating this web page usually with information as quickly as we discover out extra. Let’s begin with the three most certainly of candidates.
Lunastra launch date, free replace PC model launch dates for Monster Hunter: World
Lunastra was introduced to be coming to the PC model of Monster Hunter: World on Thursday the 22nd November, which on the time of writing is somewhat over ten days away. Lunastra is a everlasting addition to the sport and we’ll go over her hunt in additional element when the replace drops.
Deviljho appeared on the sixth September 2018 replace, together with a brand new mantle and another goodies. This huge monster is a little bit of a nasty one, roaming the assorted maps within the sport in a similar way to that persistent irritation that’s Bazelgeuse. You will discover out all in regards to the big crocodile in our Monster Hunter: World Deviljho information. Kulve Taroth is now additionally dwell, with extra details about the occasion later within the article.
As of the time of writing, we have no idea when the opposite two monsters be coming to PC, however there is a sign that will probably be quickly. In an interview with cheery RPS fanzine PC Gamer, by which producer Ryozo Tsujimoto very briefly explains their technique for the PC model’s free updates:
“They are going to be updates after launch. We’re planning to launch the updates that got here to console on a shorter cycle so you will get your palms on them faster.”
How lengthy it’ll take is unclear, although it’s value noting that some monsters have been launched months after launch within the console variations. There are some console unique free updates that won’t be coming to the PC, such because the tie-in with PS4 unique Horizon: Zero Daybreak. Others such because the Avenue Fighter V replace have a more likely probability, in addition to the lately unleashed Behemoth from Remaining Fantasy as an Elder Dragon boss encounter.
What we find out about Lunastra in Monster Hunter: World
This will probably be one other everlasting addition to the Elder Dragons you possibly can hunt in Monster Hunter: World, and is one other returning monster. This can be a variant on the Elder Dragon – Teostra, which is discovered within the Elder’s Recess, solely this one is blue. That is unlocked at Hunter Rank 16, so after defeating Xeno’jiiva. The huntsman will ask you to kill a tempered Teostra to start this story arc.
Lunastra lore and quests
This Elder Dragon is the primary one within the sport to have a bond with one other Elder Dragon – particularly Teostra, as they’re mates. Upon finishing the duty to kill a tempered Teostra, you’ll want to simply accept the particular task from the blacksmith to repel its mate – Lunastra, from the particular area. It would savagely attempt to defend it as Teostra flees the realm. You’ll then be capable to settle for the very powerful task of defeating each Teostra and Lunastra on the identical time.
Lunastra strengths and weaknesses
Lunastra has related weak factors and break factors to Teostra, however among the weaknesses have been switched round. Bladed weapons work nicely on the wings, whereas blunt weapons and ranged weapons are efficient towards the face and tail respectively. It additionally switches the ailment susceptibility of poison with blast, so it’s more practical to make use of blast-based weapons. Stun nonetheless impacts it nicely. Lastly, it nonetheless options the basic resistance to fireplace, however Lunastra is weakest to ice, then dragon.
Lunastra methods
As a feminine model of the Teostra, it has a whole lot of the identical assaults, so you possibly can stand up to hurry by taking a look at our Monster Hunter: World Teostra information. Ought to Teostra enter the fray, two lion-headed Elder Dragons carry out a type of ritual that has a fairly explosive ending, unleashing each their supernova assaults on the identical time. As quickly as you see the analysis state “Bonding with Teostra”, run as distant as you bodily can get, even when it means escaping the realm if want be. This may erupt twice technically, as if Teostra departs after the primary blast, Lunastra will erupt again into life with a second.
Additionally, be sure you carry Astera Jerky with you. This may heal any purple well being bar injury immediately, making a few of her space of impact assaults have a lot much less efficiency. Cool drinks are additionally very efficient with coping with its excessive physique temperature that may sap your well being away. If both Nergigante or Kushala Daora are within the neighborhood, attempt to set off a turf battle as will probably be severely harm by them.
When is Kulve Taroth coming to Monster Hunter: World PC?
This occasion is now Dwell! Kulve Taroth is a restricted time seasonal occasion encounter fairly than a everlasting monster that will probably be added to the sport. As introduced within the Steam Group boards, it’ll run from 2nd November 2018 from 00:00am (UTC) till 15th November 2018 at 23:59 (UTC). This implies you’ve got solely a few weeks to exit searching this shimmering creature.
You’ll additionally must be of Hunter Rank 16 or above to even qualify to struggle her, in addition to full an non-obligatory facet quest, that means you’re more likely to have to beat Xeno’jiiva first, so when you’re not at that stage but you’ll want to be fast. As for a way you struggle Kulve Taroth, I’ve knocked up the Monster Hunter: World Kulve Taroth information with extra info.
Mega Man Collaboration Occasion – This occasion is now over
To coincide with the discharge of Mega Man 11, there’s an occasion that’s occurring from Friday 19th October 2018 from 00:00am (UTC) till Thursday 1st November 2018 at 23:59 (UTC). This may enable hunters of Hunter Rank 13 or larger to tackle the “A Rush of Blood” quest within the part devoted to occasion quests.
That is only a struggle between you and two excessive rank Odogarons within the area, so if you wish to know tips on how to beat them, head to our Monster Hunter: World Odogaron information for methods and the supplies you possibly can harvest from them. The one factor of observe although is among the Odogarons is considerably smaller than the opposite one. For me, this made the precise a lot more durable as a result of regardless of not hitting anyplace close to as exhausting because the bigger one, it’s way more nimble. That mentioned, it’s fully doable with the precise load-outs to finish this quest solo and it’s rocking a traditional tune as well.
When you’ve gathered three Mega Man Tickets, you’ll be capable to create a candy pixel Mega Man costume that prices 1000 analysis factors. Because you solely receive one ticket per time doing the search, you’ll have to do the “A Rush of Blood” occasion quest to seize extra of them.
What we find out about Behemoth in Monster Hunter: World
As a collaboration between Capcom and Sq. Enix, the Behemoth replace comes with some new armour, emotes, references to Remaining Fantasy, and a brand new Elder Dragon within the type of Behemoth. Whereas not a siege battle like Kulve Taroth, this creature is probably the hardest single monster within the entirety of Monster Hunter: World thus far. Behemoth additionally appears to be obtainable for a really restricted time.
Behemoth lore and quests
Behemoth is a little bit of a sequence staple within the Remaining Fantasy sequence. It first appeared chronologically within the sequence as a boss in Remaining Fantasy II, but additionally featured as a daily enemy afterward. It additionally noticed first appearances within the US as a mini-boss in Remaining Fantasy IV and in Europe in Remaining Fantasy VII. They’re typically thought to be one of many more durable fights, with some even casting magic that reduces HP to single digits.
In an effort to discover it, if the replace drops, you’ll want to finish a quest the place you could discover guests from one other land within the Wildspire Wastes, earlier than defeating a bigger variant of the Kulu-Ya-Ku within the area. Upon finishing that, there will probably be a particular task the place you could defeat the Behemoth, which because of a number of elements is a a lot bigger job than every other single Elder Dragon, with the doable exception of Kulve Taroth.
Behemoth strengths and weaknesses
Its head is the weakest level as all weapons do the identical injury, although the tail can be very weak to bladed weapons. Its head and entrance claws are breakable, whereas the tail is severable. Nevertheless, regardless of this, there are some particular properties for attacking the top which we’ll get to within the methods portion. Dragon weapons are likely to do the most effective injury, whereas hearth and thunder are the worst parts to make use of towards it. Illnesses alternatively are extremely inspired, because it has no particular resistances to any of them.
Behemoth methods
Deliver as many flash pods and flash bugs as you possibly can to this struggle and coordinate once you’re going to make use of them. Like Remaining Fantasy video games, the struggle towards Behemoth will embody little textual content bins that warn you of when Behemoth is about to forged sure spells. Considered one of which is Charybdis, which can summon tornados. These can shortly escalate into chaotic conditions the place there are too many tornadoes round, so use a flash pod when the immediate says it’s casting Charybdis.
One other massive transfer it might use is Ecliptic Meteor. Throughout the battle, it’ll attempt to use numerous spells. Considered one of them is Comet, which slams a rock into the bottom from the sky. Not like customary meteors, these don’t explode, and in contrast to Ecliptic Meteor, these are extra helpful to you. Take note of the place the Ecliptic Meteor’s influence zone is, it’s characterised by the purple circle. Make a splash in direction of the closest comet that has landed within the space, positioning your self in order that upon the Ecliptic Meteor’s influence, the shockwave will simply destroy the comet you’re hiding behind. You too can use the Remaining Fantasy XIV replace unique soar emote, however the timing may be very exact. Nothing else will work, not even teleporting again to the camp.
As you’ll be teaming up with others, you’ll have to assign roles, one in all which will probably be a tank position to attempt to achieve Behemoth’s enmity. That is completed by repeatedly poking at it within the head, both with melee weapons or ranged weapons, whereas your teammates get the better quantity of injury with relative security. Standing results can reset the aggro, so when you’re the designated tank, be sure you’re the one which’s bashing its head to regain it as quickly as doable. It might additionally tail swipe, so attempt to hack off the tail as quickly as you possibly can, as this can severely scale back its vary.
So these are all of the monsters that aren’t within the PC model to date, however what about these Elder Dragons which might be? Fairly just a few have supplies which might be advantageous to farm earlier than the brand new monsters seem within the PC model. You possibly can try our two full lists of accessible weapons and armour which might be obtainable within the sport in our Monster Hunter: World armour builds information and Monster Hunter: World weapon tree information respectively.
