#what i did was just. a baselayer with nail polish. a design with gelpens. layer of hairspray to prevent the gelpen from running. #(bc mine dont dry properly. at least not on nailpolish) and lastly a clear nailpolish layer =w=bb #yayyyyay #btw the colours are so off on the first one i swear its way more vibrant irl!! the design is actually a metallic pink T-T #+ the background is WAY more yellow...... #i do still need to make that first one an actual pin but the harley poe has been on my bag for a week now i think!! its really cool!!1 #YIPPEE #sillyposting

Repairing a lightweight merino/synthetic baselayer for my partner.   This was full of holes! Mostly I used this for darning practise, knowing that the shirt might not actually get used after all these repairs (being a technical athletic piece). I'm still new to the world of mending clothes, and I'm not sure how to repair that collar (with my current skillset and equipment), so that will be a future project I'm sure :) Darned with wool/nylon thread.

Techniques I learned/used on this project:

Darning (freehand).  So much darning!

Mattress stitch

Parachute stitch

Woven wheel embroidery stitch

To do (when I have the skills/materials)

Reinforce the frayed neckline/collar

Maybe redo the armpit: unpick the seam, make the repairs, sew the seam back.

Progress post on the sewing of the new larp kit for the summer, lazybum edition.

This is going to be the base layer, so I threw it together on machine. I'm going to do the hems on the sleeves and neckline by hand, and possibly the lower hem and felling the seams if there's time.

Had to do some piecing on the gores because I originally intended this fabric for something else, so I was missing half a yard to do it neatly.

We're way out of the comfort zone with this much colour (although it is my favourite red) , but as there will be layers on top, I hope that it won't bother me too much.

have vaguely been thinking it might be good for me to try running again ever (my deeply beloathed) but since whenever the fuck the last time was that i engaged in it at all i seem to have misplaced basically all my winter running gear and also acquired Convictions abt polyester &c, which is making it difficult to figure out how to outfit myself :/

#also leggings give me crises now but that part is solvable by just layering shorts over top #anyway probably (as always) merino is the answer but it's like #can't believe i have to spend Actual Money to outfit myself 4 an activity i don't even really want 2 be doing lol #(like there IS exercise i enjoy it's just never historically been running) #(except for the one freak period where crew had gotten me SO fit it actually felt good. this will not happen again.) #that said i made an actual list of necessary garments and prooooooobably i could get away with just a heavy midlayer at first #other things on the wishlist (raglan-sleeved baselayer‚ possibly some kind of running vest??) but like #unless i actually do this more than‚ like‚ once it's absolutely not worth the investment #so we'll see #exercise cw #anyway forgive the deeply boring post—it's just helpful in thinking through things to write them out
