Finished reading Kirara, Shinji Hiramatsu’s final Weekly Shonen Jump series from 1986. It’s a little preoccupied with non-baseball plot points, as much a delinquent series as anything else, but is ultimately this nicely twisted celebration of living life to its fullest in the face of impending death, and in the 36 years since it was first published it’s built up something of a cult audience, hence this sleek, high resolution collection that got released last year.

Let's change the pace a bit and talk about manga! Specifically, one of my favorite manga of all time, the baseball delinquent manga Rookies! which mixes the rebellious side of Japanese youth with the more strict behaviour of baseball players as we all try our best to get to the Koshien!

When ur rapid heart rate forces u to transform:
Bonus teen Kuriza, taking on his dad’s career but with the seriousness of his papa and the swag of his uncle:
When the parents are rivalling companies but their kids are inseparable. Some ppl in my asks are requesting for Teen Kuriza. Ngl I do miss him, and I love his teen human design. Added a Teen Bulla of Capsule Corp too to make the canvas feel more complete! The artwork feels like a satisfactory ending to my Human AU. Love listening and manifesting the vibe of Mikazuki BIGWAVE while drawing this💜💙

please please PLEASE
can we settle ONE FUCKING THING PLEASE?
We may not all agree on everything, but something I actually implore some of you to do is please stop simplifying the characters and their relationships with one another.
Chuuya is one of the more intelligent characters in the series. Dazai is actually fucking strong. Atsushi is not your sweet little innocent cinnamon roll who wouldn't hurt a fly, he knows what he has to do and if somebody needs to get hurt, he has to do it. He won't kill a soul, of course not, but he can fight his way through situations if necessary. Ranpo is not just a sweet-loving childish guy. He's a complex character who can be serious and quite frankly scary when he wants to be.
There are so so so SO many more.
What I've said for Atsushi and Ranpo, yes, whilst the former is most definitely true, the latter is just as true. Atsushi is one of the most innocent characters, he doesn't believe in using violence as a means of ending something. But he will utilise it if need be. Remember when that organisation attacked the cafe? Him and Kunikida knocked all those motherfuckers out. He can use violence when the situation calls for it; he doesn't kill because he truly believes that it's morally wrong and won't allow himself to take another's life when he's trying to save them.
Wow, this turned into a rant, whoops.
Anyways, sorry, I just keep reading posts defending Chuuya's intelligence and I will defend that shit until the day that I perish <3
Dazai and Chuuya don't fill in each other's blanks, they compliment one another's abilites.
that will be all.

There’s a lot of different reasons to love baseball manga. Like, REALLY good baseball manga. The camaraderie, the strategy, the sheer variety of situations you can take a game to, the volatile personalities or the behind the scenes elements.
But sometimes, just sometimes, it’s all about how good an author can make a single pitch look,
(Bocchi na Ace wo Lead Shitai by Takashi Mizumori)
