y’know what. what scents do the ibvs boys wear.

RUBS HANDS TOGETHER

So when i originally picked out colognes for the ibvs boys, i just kind of went off whatever i knew at the time instead of actual fragrance profiles and categories, which led to them all only being somewhat well aligned and just. not well organized all in all, but the SECOND time i did it, i actually made a chart of the fragrance categories and sorted the ibvs boys by seasons (fragrances are seasonal for anyone who didnt know) so i could align the notes easier; so, in my opinion:

Isaac is an autumn and leans towards woody orientals and, to a lesser degree, floral oriental; Edward is a summer and leans towards aquatic and citrusy notes; Drew could be an autumn or a spring and leans towards woody and soft oriental notes; Nevin is an autumn or a winter and leans towards orientals and soft orientals, Chris is a spring or a winter and leans towards dry woods and aromatics (and probably gourmands tbh), and Barry is a spring who leans towards greens and citruses. good lord that was a lot but were not done yet because i have a few actual colognes picked out for some of them :)

Santal 33 for Isaac; simple and woody, a little spicy and a little floral; not super complex, but this fragrance is super iconic amongst fragrance lovers.

Black Phantom for Chris; I can't NOT give a gourmand cologne for Chris. That would be borderline criminal. The notes of alcohol and tobacco align quite nicely with his daddy issues if i do say so myself. (Also, Ky mentioned ages ago that Chris would be the coffee lover of the boys, and i just remembered that years later)

Kingdom of Dreams for Nevin; When i fucking tell you it took me 7 million years to find a good smoky cologne for Nevin. Jesus H Christ. Anyways. Warm, earthy, and smoky notes just give me an image of either a bonfire or a ritual in the deepest part of the woods gone horribly wrong. either way, it's fitting for him, and i love it.

Light Blue for Barry; One of. the hottest colognes I've ever had the pleasure of smelling. 100% a Hot Guy cologne, I, too, would trust my darkest secrets and personal information to a guy if he was wearing this. 10/10 I would wear it, but unfortunately, it's not a fragrance for me.

Acqua di Gio for Edward; A very, VERY popular cologne, truly iconic, he is the moment, i swear to god 90% of guys have owned this cologne at some point, but it is popular for a reason. I think it would he hilarious if Felix also wore this simply because it fits almost every category of guy.

and lastly, Dead Sexy for Drew; The fragrance notes on that image simply say "woody," so you would assume the vanilla and sweet notes would be dominant ones, but this 100% smells like moss on decaying trees in the most Drew way imaginable. I can not believe this wasn't tagged with aromatic because that is absolutely the best way to describe it. It smells like how the sun dries the moss on old trees after days of heavy rain, and it's one of my favorites.

it is nearly 1am and i have decided that now is the time to create a perfume through tumblr polls. if you don't see a favorite note here, i may be keeping it for a future frankenstein perfume poll. this is really a love letter to the purple prose of perfume copy and the world-building of indie perfumes. as such, i will create a fake perfume launch for our creation once our poll is done. please note that perfume is intended as a gender neutral term!

I'm going to get a good grade in smelling, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve

#fr opening up with the lemon and having amber be the only base note really brings out its sweeter warmer side #amber in woody/darker fragrances you will always be famous but this one... whew #i feel like i should have a fraghead tag at this point lol

been researching candle making and i can feel myseslf getting less normal about it by the second

#anyway i'm planning to start an Etsy shop #to sell some of my crafty stuff like decorated jackets #and i have twenty-one different candle scent ideas all based on characters #and i have no intention to stop there #i am obsessed with scented things and fragrances and designing things based on characters #and i think it has something to do with both the autism and the thing that's probably synesthesia #like those crossed over in the perfect way to make me unwell about scented candles #anyway. if you read this. give me suggestions for characters to base candle scents on. i've done a bunch of Batman villains #and some superheroes and also the mane 6 from mlp:fim #GIVE ME MORE IDEAS I CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH EVER #rowan rambles

Jotaro and Nori occasionally have an argument over what type of fragrance they should use as an air freshener in their home. Nori wants a vanilla and shea butter or floral scent, while Jotaro prefers either an ocean or a wood/leather scent.

Kakyoin argues that Jotaro already carries a strong outdoorsy and masculine aroma from the amount time he spends in nature, so it’s only fair that the house’s atmosphere should smell warmer and homey in contrast. Plus Nori doesn’t want to carry an oceanic scent himself. And Jotaro argues that if he already smells like nature, then his own home and everything relating to him should have that same type of scent as well.

They eventually settle on a fresh linen scent, a perfect blend of home and outside.

if you put fragrance in your hair it will be so pronounced.......i got this egyptian musk perfume oil (hair/body/face oil with egyptian musk oil so not straight perfume) specifically to do just that so i finally did put some on my hair today and :-)

to my knowledge there is not a specific note for white musk; but there are many massively popular perfumes called white musk, including one by the Body Shop which includes an amber base note and is apparently driving people to practice thelema and fuck nasty. See below:

There's this fragrance house that's known for pretty niche, polarizing fragrances. I got some samples and liked most of them, and I was like "oh people are just exaggerating, these are all pretty wearable"

so I got some samples of the more.. out-there ones, especially this very notorious one that people say smells like someone pissed on a tire fire. I thought they were being dramatic....

They were not, it smells so fucking bad holy shit this is a bio-weapon

#the fragrance house is zoologist and the nasty one is Tyrannosaurus Rex #but some of their other ones smell soooo good and i love the aesthetic of their packaging #their gimmick is like.. making frags based off animals and their habitats #and they have suuuper cool art to go with them #once i get my big-girl job and make real money im gonna buy a full bottle of seahorse; dragonfly; and northern cardinal
