Hmmm... I should attempt at the Bard Class.
Classes and aspects that aren't with any of the human kids is difficult because we don't follow their stories as closely, and sadly for me, I can't get a very good idea of how their Medium world contrasts their home. I do feel like I have a good idea on the story of a Bard though, so let's give it a shot.
There are two phases in a Bard's story. Let's follow Gamzee Makara, a Bard of Rage, for this. The first phase is where the Bard will act completely inverse to their aspect. Gamzee was more aligned with the hope aspect. He was kind, believed in Juggalos, and he wasn't murdering everyone he saw.
In the second phase, Gamzee has a breaking point due so the nightmares from inadequate sleep and goes on rage-induced murder spree where he kills Nepeta Leijon and Equius Zahhak.
Consulting the wiki (give me a break it's been a while 😭) it seems Cronus Ampora has had similar phases. One where he follows a prophecy where he is destined to kill Lord English, and a second phase where he does not.
While Cronus when we see him is acting more within the hope aspect by believing he has rizz, I wonder if this is more of a default subdued state. After all, in Homestuck 2, Gamzee was not on a rampage before he was murdered. Then again, what would a hope-rampage look like? I have no clue. Thinking Cronus have a chance with any woman he sees feels like mania to me, I suppose. It is important to consider that the alpha trolls' stories were cut off before the game could end and emotional arcs might not have been concluded.
In Homestuck 2, whichever of the kids is a Bard will be leaning heavily into an aspect that has already been used (life, breath, heart, or hope).

I wanted to try to make a fancy version of Gamzee‘s God Tier. Eventually I would like to sew this into a cosplay, since I’ve always wanted to do a fancy God Tier cosplay. They always look so fun and complicated, of course my silly brain is thinking about making it out of velvet, Silk brocade, gold edging and embroidering the symbol on, because why not just make this incredibly difficult and expensive to accomplish?

The Bard/Prince and Character Arcs
The defining question for the Bard/Prince is how will they rule? Whether they are ruling a kingdom, a community, or even a small group of their own friends, the Bard/Prince is a ruler and leader. No matter if the position was sought out or foisted upon them, the Bard/Prince has a duty to lead, and to lead well. Failure to do so can only mean doom for their citizens.
Setting
Just like the more powerful of the material classes, the Bard/Prince lives in a world seemingly at peace. While everyone else may be content in their world, the Bard/Prince can sense a cataclysm hitherto never seen before knocking on the door of their world. The Bard/Prince knows that this is the stage upon which they must act.
Tumblr media
Whether through actions or birthright, the Bard/Prince is hailed as a leader by their people. This distinction makes them separate from the world. They and they alone are responsible for how the world moves through this perilous time.
Internal Conflict
The internal conflict of all Bard/Prince characters revolves around fear and ego. While they may seem opposites, ego is really the mask that covers fear. And fear is the shivering innards of ego. The Bard/Prince must seek humility and an understanding of the limits of their power in order to resolve the conflict.
Usually, this conflict is externalised in how others treat them. If led by fear, their citizens will mock them. If led by ego, their citizens will fear or threaten them.
External Conflict
The external conflict is against the cataclysm. Most of the effort will go towards preparing for it, and acknowledging the concessions that must be made. Not all things can be saved.
Tumblr media
Usually, this conflict ends in a sacrifice on the part of the Bard/Prince. This is the only way that the world can survive. It ties nicely into the humility that the Bard/Prince learns in their internal conflict.
The Bard
The Bard answers the question of ruling by absconding. They will not rule. Someone else will step up and do it for them.
Bards still hold immense power, or at least the image of them would. This makes them the perfect candidate for becoming a puppet ruler. A joke to citizens and a servant to forces greater than themself.
Examples
Gamzee Makara is a Bard that refuses to take up the mantle of leader in his session. He turns to excessive drinking in order to escape his responsibilities. But because he is still a respected figure in his friend group, this leads to the session devolving into chaos. He later submits all his powers to raising Lord English, leading to the cataclysm in the main storyline of Homestuck.
Tumblr media
Roland Glenbrook from Triangle Strategy is another example. Roland refuses the responsibilities of his position, constantly pushing it onto someone else. His world is consumed by the cataclysm of the war, and most of his country falls into disarray due to this event. He feels the pain of his citizens but refuses to stand for their liberation, hiding in shadows instead. If he got his way, he would even allow his citizens to suffer under the rule of Hyzante instead of taking the role of King himself.
End Goal
The end goal of the Bard is to take up the mantle of leader while still acknowledging their own fallibility. Bards generally reject the role of leader because they know their own short-comings all too well. But no one is perfect, and a green leader is better than no leader at all.
Roland becomes king in the Golden Ending and takes proactive steps to safeguard the peace in Norzelia. He doesn’t try to take over the other nations and still acknowledges he isn’t the best suited to be king. However, when the responsibility falls to him, he does not shirk from his duty, and tries his best at a role he never expected to inherit.
The Prince
The Prince answers the central concern by meeting it and exceeding it. They will rule with a strong vision and an iron fist. They are the only one fit to rule the land, and they will sacrifice all to keep this position. It is for the greater good, afterall.
Tumblr media
Because they are so convinced of their infallibility, they are frequently an oppressive ruler instead of an uplifting one.
Examples
Eridan Ampora is a prime example. He sees himself and all the waterkin as the only ones capable of being leaders. He refuses to acknowledge the limits of his social capital and uses force to get his way. His actions lead to the deaths of his fellow players, the destruction of the matriorb, and did nothing to prepare them for the coming of Jack Noir or Lord English. In fact, he may have sabotaged any attempts to prepare for the coming cataclysm.
Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada is another great example. When Miranda is faced with her forced retirement, she doesn’t recognise the waning of her powers and the beginning of a new era. She bullies, threatens, and sacrifices the livelihoods of her own employees in order to keep her position. While the cataclysm is staved off, it is far from over. Irv will attempt to replace her again and again in the coming years until Miranda has sacrificed all her pawns and be faced with a kingdom (Runway) that is in shambles.
End Goal
The end goal of the Prince is to let go of power. They are fallible, just like all others. And through their own self-sacrifice, they can usher in a new era gracefully, with minimal damage to their citizens.
Tumblr media
For Miranda, she could have completed her character arc if she stepped down from Runway and gave her position to Nigel. She had groomed him for such a position and clearly found him to be the most capable of the creative team. This action would have also appeased Irv, as her high-budget version of Runway would be replaced by a new vision.
Conclusion
At the end of the day, the Bard/Prince are leaders forced to face their own mortality and the fact that all things must change. As they figure out how they’ll lead, they also plan how they’ll relinquish power.
Hopefully by the end of the journey, they will find humility and no longer be ruled by fear and ego. Through this journey, they can be hailed as a beloved leader of their time. However, the losses are great should they fail, as they can actively contribute to the oncoming cataclysm. If the Bard/Prince does not learn humility and courage, they could destroy all they care about in their quest to secure stability or power for themself.

can i get a Bard of Rage analysis pleaseee? with a land/quest too if possible
The Bard of Rage [symbols: jester hat, tragedy mask]
The Bard class has its basis in the classic trickster trope.  An example would be the Shakespearean fool.
The Rage aspect’s main theme is defiance. You can find its official description here.
A Bard of Rage is among those who alter faith in possibility. This is the “classpect group” they belong to. Members include: the Sylph, Maid, Bard, and Prince of Hope/Rage. These classes are all opposites or inverses of each other that alter the Hope/Rage dichotomy (faith in possibility). A description of classpect groupings can be found here.
The Bard of Rage passively destroys the Rage aspect. Passive classes are guided by others or act for the benefit of others. They are more likely to be kind, but less likely to stand up for themselves. Princes and Bards destroy their aspect and everything it symbolizes, while using that same aspect as a weapon. In doing so, they leave their opposite aspect in their wake. Due to their actions, they come across as their opposite aspect. Simplified, the Bard of Rage is motivated by others to destroy defiance. In personality, they start out as the Hope aspect, seemingly defined by assurance.
On the subject of personality, the Bard of Rage gets angry when things don’t go their way and hates complacency. Personality descriptions can be found here.
Their archetype is the True Revolutionary, defined by outrage and defiance. Archetypes are explained here.
Their opposite is the Prince of Hope, who actively destroys assurance.
Their inverse is the Maid of Hope, who actively assists assurance.
A classpect or “god tier” is an individual’s best self. All classpects go through a journey from unrealized, to struggle, to realized. When a character is unrealized, they neutrally exist as their inverse. On their struggle, they will wildly flip back and forth between their inverse and true classpect. In their worst moments they will act as their inverse, in their best their true classpect. When realized, they will stabilize as their true classpect. They will still have room to grow, but will become happier, more successful people.
This means that the Bard of Rage begins life motivated by themselves to assist assurance. When their struggle arrives and they are at their worst, they will continue this behavior in negative extremes. However, when at their best, they will find purpose in instead destroying defiance for others. When realized, they will stabilize and continue to destroy the Rage aspect passively, in a positive way.
They share their archetype with no one, being the truest representation of their type.
The Bard of Rage would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Hope [Opposite Aspect] and Rage [Aspect]. An example would be the Land of Laughter and Blockades. An explanation of planet naming conventions can be found here.
As for the quest the Bard of Rage must go on, perhaps the denizen of their planet has erected walls throughout the land that prevent the consorts from going about their daily lives. Instead of attempting to remedy the situation, the consorts have focused all their efforts on remaining positive at all costs. They are throwing parties and having group therapy sessions while their resources slowly dwindle. It is up to the Bard of Rage to give up their own complacency and become a force of revolution, working with the consorts to tear down the barriers holding them hostage.
A possible god, or denizen, to reign over their planet would be Ares (God of War). Other Rage aspect denizens can be found here.
When the Bard of Rage completes their planet quests and dies on their quest bed, they would rise to ascension on the wings of imps (symbols of the devil). A list of soul animals can be found here.
The characters that I have currently classpected as Bards of Rage are: Gamzee Makara from Homestuck [canon example], a Rage Demon from Dragon Age, Lucifer from Christianity, Attila the Hun from Night at the Museum, and Juggernaut from X-Men.

Regarding Bards as an Aspect Overabundance
Hopping on my old classpecting blog bc I have something I'd like to share with the class regarding Bards.
So Bards and Princes are both destruction classes, Bard being passive and Prince being active. Along with that, it's stated that Princes are lacking their aspect and thus so is the session. Bards, meanwhile, destroy passively, not always in control of what they destroy. I prefer to use the term "corrupt" because it brings up a clearer picture of what "destroying passively" means. Unlike Princes, however, it is never directly stated that Bards lack their aspect or that their aspect is lacking in the session (citation needed). I'd like to argue that it's because not only are they not lacking their aspect, but that they possess their aspect in abundance and, as such, so does the session they are in.
In canon Homestuck we only have 2 bards: Gamzee, Bard of Rage, and Cronus, Bard of Hope. Let's talk about Cronus first, since there's less info on him. In the Act 6 Intermission 3 Openbound, we learn a bit about Cronus during the time in the session. He used to be a nerdy kid who loved wizards, but then eventually he left that behind, especially after he died and learned about humans. So, now he claims to be human in spirit and acts like a 1950's greaser. He's also a perv but I don't think that's related. I interpret Hope players as having a very strong sense of self, so Cronus changing up his personality like this is a very interesting look at Bards, especially since it seems like he doesn't really care about how he was before. It's not that he doesn't like how he was before, but more that he's moved on from it to something new. His self (his hope) has been Corrupted and now he's different. Along with that, he does seem to have an almost foolish level of hope, as he immediately volunteers to help fight Lord English when asked. As for his session, it's really hard to tell if they did have an overabundance of Hope since we see very little of the Dancestor Session on screen, but I believe we can assume it had more Hope than Rage, especially since they had a Prince of Rage in the form of Kurloz.
Cronus is a bit hard to use to definitively assert this claim of mine, but that's why Gamzee is very important. Gamzee is the Bard of Rage, and boy does he sure have it. Rage is all about emotions and raw power, something he has In Spades. Gamzee is one of the strongest Beta Trolls, arguably the strongest, and as we see in his many bloody outings, he is dripping in Rage. He has an obvious overabundance of his aspect, which was kept down in his early years by eating soper pies, keeping him high and unaware of his emotions. We get hints of his power here and there, like when Karkat commented on the fact that he dealt a great blow to the Black King in their session, but it wasn't until Dave sent him the ICP music video that he finally snapped and went on a rampage. Years and years of Rage that had built up exploded like a dam, and it was disastrous, as he went on a killing rampage. If ever there was an overabundance of an aspect in Bards, as I have asserted, this is very clearly evidence for that. However, was there an abundance of Rage in the session itself? I'd argue yes to that as well. Throughout the whole session, there were many moments of sabotage, subterfuge, distrust, and loathing. Hell, the whole game was even meant to be a competition before they did the whole double mobius reacharound. This mixed with the lack of Hope thanks to the Prince, Eridan, makes it a bit of a miracle that the session ever was completed. Even after the new universe was created, Rage was apparent. Gamzee wasn't the only one who went on a killing rampage, as we see both Vriska and Eridan give in to their bloody desires. It's pretty clear to me that Rage was a major force at work in their session, due to the overabundance that Gamzee possessed.
This is my evidence for how Bards have both an overabundance of their own aspect, but also cause the session to have an overabundance as well. I think I've laid out a good argument as to why and how I interpret the class and gave a bit of insight into how I look at classes within both the story and classpecting itself.

Re-reading Act Omega gives me a deeper understanding of how Gamzee views Lord English and himself and all of reality and he's kind of just... Really sad 😟
Tumblr media
He's summed up all of his existence as an actor on a stage and he's been waiting, pushing around props and pulling ropes and dancing around in the background to ensure his master is pleased with his buffoonery and disruption 🎭 He's been doing this in hopes that when the curtains close, he'll go on vacation, get his own show to watch, his own script to write, his carnival 🎪
Tumblr media
When he learns that that's not going to happen he fucking looses it and abandons ship 🔥🚢🔥 Gamzee decides that if his destiny, his grand part in his Lord's play is to be used as a distraction; a flickering spot light that will be discarded, he won't have any part in it ❌ The Rage player is enraged by the shitty plot contrivance in the script 😡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It really show that his revelation of being a descendant of the grand Subjugglators, his initial glee in meeting his literal soul mate and Lord of his existence, it's all gone now (and also probably an alternate timeline idk its never really made clear)😞 All the torture he's endured all the friends he's killed and betrayed, all of which he had decided he would not need to regret due to the grand prize🏆 of eternity he would be granted, something he was taught since birth 😧 It's all just a joke 🙃
He's so much more angry and almost nihilistic😶He's not happy to do the things he does he does it because he believes it to be true and so much more honest- He believes that he's following his part just as everyone else has and will 📜It really shows why Damara and the Handmaiden and all of LE's servant's are so empty and pissed off all the time😠This is what they were raised in, born into and know they will collapse into and they will happily choose it over their other fates to have which, in their minds, is to lay down and let the nothingness consume you💀
It's so bleak and stagnant and just sad 😢I feel bad for all these kids and Gamzee who was originally just supposed to rot in a corpse filled refrigerator for eternity until he falls into the service of his abusive God😣
He's not innocent but how innocent could he have been? 🤔
Tumblr media
Everything about all of him and his friends were doomed 💥 It's not like he could've just seen his soul within the eyes👀 of the vessel of his God and decided to ignore the sound of his Lord whispering in his ear from the distant rays of THE GREEN SUN, It's not like realizing that his life his a game to an undefeatable being could be brushed off, like the doctrine and scripture that followed him his whole life could be forgotten.😒
Idk just seems like a loose-loose for the poor kid.
